Lumina is great!

Lumina was fantastic to work with. From start to finish they were there every step of the way keeping me informed and up to date. They answering any questions I had and made it clear what the next steps would be. The installation was efficient and the installers were very professional. It was great not to have any part of the process subcontracted out, and to work with Lumina of the whole way.

Hard to beat Lumina

Everything at Lumina Solar has been such a great workflow. Speaking initially with our main contact Jack, was like having a conversation with a friend. He was not pushy and didn't act like a "sales man". He was also very knowledgeable and able to answer every question we had. Installation with Lumina Solar flawless. The team worked quickly, proficiently and cleanly. They were able to also answer all the questions we had about the installation. Jack has also been available any time we had additional questions and was able to take care of any minor problems that came up. We are already seeing fantastic results in overall KWH produced and lower electric costs.

We had a wonderful experience with Lumina Solar—from sales to installation to post-installation set up and running. The installers were careful and informative. The whole process was pretty easy. When I wrote to ask questions, they were answered quickly and carefully. We are happily producing energy!

I contacted Lumina in June 2021 about installing solar panels. My system was approved, installed and operating by the first week of October 2021. They took the time to ensure that the system was designed to maximize solar exposure and they showed me the data behind the system design. They answered all of my questions, kept me informed step-by-step, and made the whole process painless. They have even sent me emails about my system's performance after installation was complete. Lumina really cares about the systems they install and their customers. I highly recommend using Lumina if you are interested in solar energy.

A good experience.

So far I have had a very positive experience with Lumina. A friend had done some research and sent me his top solar prospects, with Lumina as his #1. I called several companies and Lumina stood just above the others. The salesperson, Matt D, was knowledgeable and supportive without being pushy. The design process was all done over zoom, and everything was well explained. Once I was ready to commit, everything moved along smoothly and as expected. The installation was uneventful in a good way. The permitting took a while, but they had set my expectations for that, so it wasn't a surprise. Once the panels were up and running, the monitoring software is great, and Matt continues to support me as I have questions. My panels came online in October of 2021, and have been running smoothly. I've had 3 months where they slightly underperformed Lumina's estimates, and 2 months where they slightly overperformed Lumina's estimates. And I've had my electric bill be a $10 connection fee and NOTHING more, EVERY month! I also added an electric car, and since I knew that might be something I was going to get, Matt helped me size the system accordingly, and even adding in the electric car, the panels are still making enough to cover all my needs!

Solar Install

I have been very happy with the process of getting solar with Lumina Solar. Catie has been very prompt with the paper work and has made sure that all the forms have been submitted and that reworks of forms are done in a timely manner. Also when the Lumina Solar team came out to install the panels they were done in about 6 hours and they panels looked professionally done. I highly recommend working with Catie and Lumina Solar.

Great experience, fast install

I shopped around at about 7 other local installers and chose Lumina because: 1) They offered the lowest APR (a couple companies tied) 2) They offered the best warranty with leak protection (1 company matched this) 3) They used the best simulation software (none of the other companies had this software) 4) For a 12k system, Lumina (either through honesty or their software) projected the lowest production - which led me to believe the other companies were over selling their solution. 5) I went for the higher quality panels - most competitors offered lower quality panels at the same price or higher. 6) The sale person (Kurt) was upfront about the whole process and where prices could increase (no penalty for canceling contract if this occurred) 7) Kurt was kind enough to give me a projection of how my system would perform if I cut down a tree that is partially blocking my system (turns out it is close to 10% gain) Quick process: Contract signed on 1/13 Installed on 3/21 System turn on: 3/29

Excellent!

Peter Hayes and his team were fantastic. As I started the process he was knowledgeable, polite, and pressure free as I did my own research into solar power. Once I wanted to move forward the whole team from scheduling to installing, were great, professional and easy to work with. The electricians did a great job keeping things neat and out of the way. I had a great experience from start to finish. Would highly recommend to anyone looking into solar power. Good bye electric bill!!

Excellent, Professional and exceptional customer service

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I couldn't be more happier with Phillip Jordan and the entire Lumina Solar team. From the day I contacted Phillip, he was responsive, professional and thorough in explaining and answering all my questions regarding switching to Solar. He came up with the design that fit my needs. He guided me through each and every step of the process, answering all my questions during the install. Even after my install, Phillip is always a text message away. That is the level of dedication they have towards their customers which is the main reason I went with Lumina. I even recommended Phillip to few of my friends and family members and most of them already switched to Solar. Thank you so much to Phillip and the Lumina Team for helping me in transitioning to a more sustainable future.

Great experience

Peter Hayes and his team did a great job from start to finish. Very knowledgeable, personable, and no pressure. I was able to take my time, do some of my own research and he was there to answer any questions I had along the way. Once I wanted to move forward, the schedulers got me in and the team went to work. The installers and electricians were awesome. System is up and running great. No idea it was going to be this easy. Good bye electric bill!

Great 5 Star experience at first....

Update - Lowering Rating as I continue to wait for batteries to be installed.. My Original Quote was to also install 2 Telsa batteries - due to back order issues I went ahead with the panel installation on the assumption that the batteries would soon follow (Dec-Jan), Well it is Mid March and getting a status or update on batteries has been challenging and I still have no time table... The frustration and disappoint is growing and my perception of a very Customer Centric Company is dwindling... I would highly recommend Lumina Solar! They were very clear and responsive through the entire process. The installers did a great job and they were all very nice and very professional!!! Everyone at Lumina was nice and professional. Thank to the entire team and especially Philip for a smooth and accommodating process!

Great Experience

Working with Lumina Solar has been a great experience. Kurt Bradshaw was particularly wonderful to work with, giving us a detailed explanation of the benefits of solar. I appreciated his focus on the facts and his love of the product/service rather than trying to simply sell us something. Lumina has been very communicative throughout the process and scheduling the install was easy and convenient. Our system was up and running within a short time after install. My husband and I are very happy with Lumina and our new system.

Excellent Company. Outstanding Responsiveness.

From when I started seeking a quote for panels to install and activation, my experience has been completely satisfying. New to solar, I started my shopping looking for companies that would promise me more panels at the lowest price ($/watt). I used Energy Sage to get some initial quotes and indeed got a very low price with a vendor that promised to cover my roof completely! I competitor told me that was unrealistic and I was educated on set backs and insolation. That changed my strategy and I started looking for companies that gave me production assurances. This had me talking to some different vendors but I was quickly disillusioned because some of the vendors were assuring me of power guarantees but were still putting panels in shady parts of the roof in their proposals. I became worried that the fine print of the guarantees would turn my operational experience into a headache. So I switched strategies again and started looking for highly recommended installers. I might have started here first but as we all know reviews can be a sketchy source of info. To test this out, I looked at local installers (Anne Arundel County, MD) that rated the highest. I read many of the more detailed reviews and felt comfortable that they were a decent reflection of reality. I narrowed my list to a few competitively priced bids from the highest rated local installers and looked at their offerings. I was struggling between choosing a company that has been around longer and using LG panels and Lumina using REC. The argument the other company was using was that LG was more diversified and would be there if I needed support. They were also an older company and did roofing as well as solar and would be a more secure partner. Lumina, in addition to the product warranties and their own labor warranty, offered a 3rd party warranty from SolarInsure. They switched from charging for that warranty to including it in the price during my deliberations. I was still a little up in the air, but I made the call and went with Lumina. I would like to say that my experience with my initial contact Luisa was a significant factor. The installation process was very straightforward and I was given very clear "what to expect" information as we went along. They recommended a roof tune-up from one of their partners and that was very inexpensive ($149) and entailed a roofer coming out and nailing down some shingles and sealing various things (I received extensive photo documentation too). Lumina handled all planning with the utility and the county and my role was just to be there to let them in or receive the inspection stamp. They worked hard to get my panels installed between snow storms and I was able to get my panels turned on before the end of January (from initial signing mid November). The panels are generating power now and I am happily monitoring their production.

This was a great experience working with Catie Meck. She made this process easy and answered all questions in a professional manner. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is interested in installing solar or needs more information.

Fantastic customer service

Catie Meck was a perfect partner for our rooftop system. From the first consultation to months after installation, she was knowledgeable, friendly, thorough, quick to respond, and quick to solve problems. I showed our analysis of solar energy hitting our rooftop, including the diagram, to many friends. Catie even helped my friend solve problems when he had a few glitches, even though she wasn’t working with him. Catie’s colleagues who scheduled our installation were just as responsive and flexible, and the installers themselves were friendly and helpful, showing us what they were doing. They were also remarkably clean, right down to walking out backward while using a hand vacuum as they left!

Exceptional Company

Let me begin by saying what an exceptional company Lumina Solar is. As any good consumer, I did my research and found 5 solar installers I thought met my high standards. I set up appointments with a rep from each company and heard their sales pitch. Phillip from Lumina Solar was honest, straight forward and quite knowledgeable. He was convincing but not pushy which I respect. When I decided to hire Lumina Solar, Phillip stayed in touch with me throughout the entire install. He would answer questions I had and inform me of next steps which I truly appreciated. As I progressed through the process, other Lumina Solar team members reached out and guided me as well. They were all very friendly and helpful. Approximately two months after I signed the contract, Lumina Solar’s Allentown install team, led by Jamie, did a remarkable job. They showed up on time, were very respectful of my property and their attention to detail throughout the installation process is quite impressive. They took extra time and care tucking wires and conduits into the existing architecture to maximize exterior esthetics. They thoroughly cleaned up after each day of work and communicated with me throughout the process. One of the last steps involved after my panels were installed was the final inspection. The inspector raved about how neat and clean everything looked compared to other “solar installers”. Overall, Lumina Solar is an exceptional company with exceptional employees who value the quality of their product they sell and communication with their customers as core tenants of their business. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Big System and Car Charger in Arlington, Virginia

Lumina Solar did what they said they would do with professionalism and competence. They designed, modeled and installed a large 18.9 kw system on my house and it is producing power as projected. They also installed an electric car charger. Everyone from the sales person to the installation techs were personable, experienced, knowledgeable, and reliable.

Professional & Responsive

Lumina installed 37 solar panels on our roof in early December 2021. They did first class job from start to finish, and in every fundamental way. They let me know when they would be here, and they were punctual. They were friendly and polite, and never left any kind of mess, whether it was the initial survey or the installation work. When there was a minor issue after the installation, they returned within a couple of days and made it right.
