Longhorn Solar - best under the sun!

There are a lot of rooftop solar sales folks that ply our neighborhood - I had one yesterday that didn't notice we already had panels on our roof and started on his spiel until I pointed up. That was that. The panels I was pointing to were installed last year by Longhorn Solar. Professional, courteous, prompt, and helpful in navigating rebates and incentives. The equipment they installed is top quality. It even _looks_ good. If you want rooftop solar and have the opportunity to work with Longhorn, do it. Now, every hot and sunny Texas day (viz., most days), I just think about the money we're making.

Longhorn Solar was awesome!

We had just been through the ringer with another solar company...about a year of nothing but poor communication and doubt all along the way. I was not very hopeful, but took the recommendation from a friend to give Longhorn Solar a try. We contacted account manager Logan Bennett, and really from the first email on we have been completely blown away by how professional Longhorn has been and how quickly our system was up. Logan in particular has been responsive to every single email and text, and he even conducted a few meetings completely online due to our schedule conflicts. The system price was better than the previous quote, the process of getting a rebate approved was super fast and painless, and the panels were installed in less than a day and look fantastic! We look forward to many years of leveraging the Texas sunlight, finally!

Longhorn Solar - Better than Mint or Solar City by a mile!

My solar installation was so easy I barely had to do anything but sign paperwork. My decision to go solar was based on replacing my electricity payment with a loan payment and with the Oncor dividend it took the price down 5 thousand dollars, making the system affordable and within the price range I needed for our consumption. I hear there is still Oncor money available, check with Longhorn Solar, it's so fast it'll surprise you!

Highly Recommend Longhorn Solar

Had an awesome overall experience with Longhorn Solar. Compared quotes from 4 places. Longhorn was the most cost effective and also had great communication. Logan and Kelli were super responsive to any needs and concerns we had. They made getting the proper documentation from the HOA and the inspection with the Austin Energy a breeze. The installation team put up the entire array in one day and tidied up. There was one panel that was not aligned perfectly and they came back the next day to repair it. The panels look great on the house. From signing the contract to having the system produce electricity for us was done in less than a month. I have a family member who went with a different unnamed but popular company and he started the process before I did, but they screwed up installation and he is still not close to up. Happy with my Solar system

I live in Anna under Grayson Collin Electric Co-op where rates are around $0.13 kWh. It's been just over 30 days since my installation and I produced 913kWh of energy. The installers were very professional, on time, and finished within the day. My sales rep, Dan Warren, guided me through the process and provided after the sale support. He also obtained HOA approval and now we are working on a game plan to help everyone in the neighborhood.

Top-notch company to work with!

Longhorn Solar has installed two systems for us. We've had our new system for about a year, and so far we have produced about 15% more than expected, and our average electric bill has been -$15 per month (yes, that's negative). The Sense energy monitor is working great, I love seeing how much energy each of our devices is using! From beginning to end, which was about two months both times, Longhorn answered all of our questions. And believe me, I ask a lot of questions. Our first time through, a group in our community went in together, so we got quotes from six different solar companies. Longhorn Solar was very competitive on price, but really sold us on their knowledge and willingness to work with each individual owner to make sure the installs went smoothly and looked great on the homes. Our second install was no different, they make the process painless. When we sold our previous home, with an 8 kW system, we were able to get about a $10-15k premium on the home with the solar panels. The appraiser gave us $12k in value for the system. At that time, we only owed about $7k on our loan (and never put any money down), so even though we sold only 2 years after getting solar, we got our money back and more!

Knowledgeable, friendly, great customer service

The sales process was nice as we never felt like we were being pushed into buying. Longhorn Sales Rep, Logan B, was patient and used a consultative approach. We asked him to show us multiple options (which he happily had no problem with) but the rep from another large Austin solar company we were also talking to seemed to get really irritated when we asked him for the same options that Logan and Longhorn Solar were happy to provide. That made all the difference. Everything we were told, came true. Installation was quick and painless...heck we were out for the day and returned to a completed Solar PV install on our house!! Pretty talented group of installers at Longhorn. The installers are all Longhorn employees rather than a crew sub contracted by Longhorn (the competition subbed out the work and this was a big deal for us). All in all, very glad we went solar! A few shingles were damaged during the installation and Longhorn was out within 2 days to replace those shingles. We were impressed by how quickly they repaired the shingles. We're reminded of our wise decision every single time we get an electric bill. Many months out of the year, we actually do not owe anything. Nice folks. Quality work. Excellent communication. If you are thinking about getting Solar Panels put on your roof, give this company a call.

I know there are nearly a thousand choices in Austin now for solar. Longhorn was one of the first to open up shop and are clearly still on top of their game after all the years they have been in business. I have no doubt this company will grow and continue to serve Central Texas for many many years to come. Longhorn Solar installed a pretty big system on our roof several months ago, and wow, has it ever made a difference in our electric bills. I show off my bills (sometimes they are just statements from Austin Energy showing me a credit that gets rolled over to the next month) to friends and they are all jealous. I financed and was able to get the entire system put up for no money out of pocket! From the initial sales call to follow ups every 6 months, everyone I have spoken with at Longhorn Solar is super knowledgeable, helpful, straightforward and caring. Nobody tried to oversell me. The process of finding just the right system size was a consultative approach. Our Account Manager, Logan, listed to our project goals and tailored the design and ultimate proposal to match. Spot on. I now wish that I had gotten an even bigger system! The installation was competed very quickly by an install crew that obviously is extremely experienced. Conduit was painted to match so the whole thing looks amazing! Zero complaints. Our system is producing tons of electricity and our bills have virtually disappeared. I recommend Longhorn Solar to anyone I'd use them again if I had to do it all over again. Great Service

A 5KW system (20 panels) installed in August 2013. Install crew was fast, professional and courteous. Excellent job cleaning up the worksite. System is working beautifully with no discernible degradation to date. They were working with BBT who gave me a 15 year refinance/mortgage with just about zero closing costs. Great deal.

Folks, this is about as good as it gets. It all started with a return call from Logan Bennett to my inquiry about wanting to go solar. No pressure and a sincere interest in providing me solid information to assist me in my decision. The more I visited with Longhorn, the better it got. There was a quick (and free of charge) site survey to better assist Logan in determining all the variables dealing with solar and to find the best fit. This was followed by a 'kitchen table' presentation and discussion of the recommended, custom designed solar system for my home. Logan took all the time I needed and answered every question. Longhorn was very responsive to my needs and helped me find the right configuration considering the amount I was willing to spend. All of the personnel I dealt with at Longhorn kept the process simple, provided excellent follow-up throughout, paid attention to detail, demonstrated competency and knowledge, and were very professional in my opinion. The installation crew was really amazing to watch as they went about the install process in such an experienced and coordinated manner which was completed in one day. Bottom line: a great experience at a great value with a great company. I can recommend Longhorn Solar without any reservation whatsoever.

Great Experience With Longhorn Solar

Longhorn Solar is on top of their game. Over the course of about 2 years I had bids from a few companies and was almost ready to pull the trigger only to hit a brick wall in life. The Solar companies gave up on me....all except one....Longhorn Solar and specifically my Account Manager, Logan Bennett. He called me periodically ever 4 or 5 months to see how I was doing and never made it feel like a sales situation. He earned my business and his company delivered on all of their promises. A few highlights: *Informative Account Manager who never once came across as pushy..by the end he felt like a friend and family member. He continues to email me and call on occasion to ask for my bills or to let me know how my system performed last month. He says they officially call every 180 days but that he likes to reach out a little more often. Who does that? I can't think of one salesperson who reaches out to me to make sure I am still happy. *Everyone I encountered truly seems to love their jobs and are extremely educated and talk to you like they are talking to a friend....during the sales part, it felt more like an energy consultation about how to best bring down my bills while not spending a fortune to do so. *Did not push me to buy the biggest system possible....Logan actually suggested a smaller system! *They talk about strategies to reduce you overall electric consumption habits that don't involve going without AC! *Post sale communication by Kelli Corzine was fast, friendly and informative *Our installation took less than one day! *The installation team is made up 100% of full time employees. They were courteous to my family and asked permission to use our driveway (prevented my wife from having to go yell at one of them on the roof to move a van if she had had to get out). The driveway thing sounds small but it was just one example in a long pattern of professionalism *Our Account Manager helped me take care of the HOA stuff *Our Account Manager was willing to meet at 9:30pm or 6:30am and he has a freakin infant! THESE GUYS RESPECT YOUR TIME *The whole process that Austin Energy goes through before the City allows the system to get turned on was communicated crystal clear to me by both my Account Manager and Kelli (I believe a Customer Service and Scheduling Manager) *I knew what was going to happen next every step of the way *My bills immediately went down and by financing the deal, I got solar on my roof for free! I make a monthly payment for the loan and the average electric savings is bigger than than the monthly payment. Its like getting fifteen thousand dollars worth of home upgrades for free. If you are thinking about getting solar, don't make the mistake of going with an out of town company. GO LOCAL and support AUSTIN and Austin jobs. If I ever need Longhorn, they are a phone call away or a short drive up to north Austin. Great job Longhorn Solar.

BEST SOLAR COMPANY IN TEXAS! Thanks Logan AND the whole team

We got quotes from several solar "sales" companies, and challenged each company with questions. We found that the "sales" companies had commission only sales people who were willing to say ANYTHING to win the job. Believe me, we heard some real whoppers! Not with Longhorn. They tell you the truth about everything. Especially impressed that they have never sub contracted out any of their jobs! We were told a few weeks before out install the names of all the full-time employees that we should expect at the installation! They even send you great photos taken from on top of the roof that the installation team captures during installing. Our Account Manager (more on this to come) sent us a USB drive with dozens of pictures from every part of our installation. We were really happy with this because we were traveling during the installation! It felt like we didn't miss a thing. Logan Bennett, our Account Manager gave us factual information and always sent links or clearly demonstrated for us how he came up with the information (solar production numbers, etc). Some companies predicted "to-good-to-be-true" production numbers. Logan showed us how to use a Government funded Website (PV Watts) that uses 25 years of historical weather data to predict how many kilowatts our system would produce. After the tutorial we took some other proposals, filled out their system info and sure enough, we found some drastically inflated kWh prediction numbers...we felt totally educated enough to scrutinize all bids after sitting down with Logan. Rather than coming across as a "salesy" person, he was more of an energy consultant who gave us an education we really needed to pick the right company.... In the end, Longhorn was the clear choice. The ONLY rep from all the companies to answer every challenging question with a factual, educated, nuanced answer (his response time was almost immediate every single time while other companies had no answer or made us wait a week for a response). We work long hours and were often calling or emailing late at night. He even responded within 5 minutes to an email sent after midnight! Was never pushy, never came across as a sales person, never applied any kind of pressure or sales tactics. What a refreshing change! The whole Longhorn team went the extra step. Big thanks to Kelli Corzine who handles customer communications in regards to scheduling the install post sale. She worked throughout the process to continue to keep us informed and our project on time. SOOOO HAPPY! Our installation was completed in less than one day and was completed about 60 days ahead of schedule. If you are even considering solar, call Logan directly at (512) 791-3778 or call into the Austin office. Have you ever bought a big ticket item and had the person who sold it to you call out of the blue or show up at your door just to make sure everything is still running smooth and to make sure you are happy? Probably not. They don't just sell at Longhorn. They educate, consult, sell, do all the heaving lifting, do all the permits, and continue to reach out to you after the sale (they officially call twice a year just to check on us..or at least that is what Logan has promised...he has already called twice so there is not reason to doubt this. AND free online monitoring! What a great 100% local company. Don't hesitate if you are considering solar...call Longhorn and ask for Logan Bennett.

Reliable and professional solar installers

From the time of first contact at the PEC Solar fair, these guys have been professional and reliable. They do what they say and communicate very well. Logan was my solar go to guy and in spite of having a baby in the middle of the install, the communications and updates never stopped. The work seemed very professional - electric conduits were properly marked and properly grounded (I'm a EE). They went the extra mile to color match and paint the pipes coming in from the roof. During the system sizing discussions, they made some great suggestions and looked over my data and ROI analysis and quickly worked it out to my benefit. They promised a 60 day work timeline and were done in 2 weeks since they had all the relationships in place. Actual install took a day. So I very much liked what they did and how they went about doing it. Would recommend that everyone talk directly to Logan Bennett at LongHorn Solar for Austin, TX solar installs.
