After doing research for solar on our home here in Mueller, and as part of a multi-neighbor group, we decided on Longhorn Solar. They offered quality equipment at a great price, without over-selling. Great Solar Company

I am in a 2 story 2300 sqft 4 2 1/2 with adult children, not too far from you. We had Longhorn Solar come by 2 years ago and give us an estimate for a 4.5 Kwh system. They did the Plan, Submitted the Change to the HOA and got approval, Did the installation and it has reduced our overall electric bill by about 45%. We just had a Checkup and it is working at it's most efficient this summer. Give them a call and they will come out and give you a free estimate. They also have a Company Discount right now and also get all other Tax Breaks and government discounts that are available.

Great and easy install

We collected 3 other estimates for solar installation. There certainly was a lot of information and different opinions on our options. We needed and had the roof space to go net zero plus a little more. 26 panels in all. Bryan and Longhorn was our choice because they were so clear in what we were getting and needing and they also had a couple installs close to our house. After talking to one of those customers who had been with Longhorn for several years, we felt it was the best choice. Since the install and 2 months after wards we have never regretted the choice. Everything is working as advertised and the app telling us daily/hourly of electric output as sooo cool. I would highly recommend Longhorn and give Bryan a call. No pressure at all, it's all on you to make the choice.

I'll keep this concise: -Great people -Easy to work with -Responsive and accountable -Will be there if you ever need them (warranty) -Works with PEC customers -Preston was awesome, non-salesy, no pressure, educates you so you make an educated decision -Quick, clean, professional install -Could have sold me on more expensive panels, but sold me the right solution that fit my needs. -Highly recommend these guys, if anything, get a quote and get educated on solar. They won't force a square peg in a round hole.

A solid reputable solar installer.

I chose Longhorn Solar after reviewing several solar installers in my area. Longhorn Solar was the only one that was honest about everything. From their opinion on what I needed to continuous follow thru ensuring that everything was being done correctly. Their final install was quick and seamless. The finished job looked great and I was very happy with the outcome. Preston has been amazing to work with. He wasn't there to 'sell' me something. He was there to consult me on my solar endeavour and made sure that I was educated on everything before I made my decision. If you want a no pressure consultation and a solid company to provide you a bid, I'd start with Longhorn Solar, you'll quickly realize that the rest are not as well polished and prepared. Lastly, Longhorn was one of the very few Solar installers that incentivized PEC customers. Can't say no to that.

Thorough, Fast and Informative Experience - AND AFFORDABLE

Working with our account manager Logan Bennett throughout the process, Longhorn Solar proved to be a dependable solar solution. When we decided that our home and family needed solar, we shopped around to several companies. After narrowing it down, Longhorn Solar stood out for several reasons. First, the process of them coming out on their own dime, next day in our case, and look at everything they needed to provide an accurate quote was a huge deal. Competitors in the Austin area provided quotes based on google maps view of our roof and they couldn't see areas on our roof that they had to work around. I don't know if these competitors were trying to save money or cut corners, but their quotes immediately changed when I mentioned the proactive work that Longhorn Solar was providing. Next, everyone tried to sell us huge systems that ballooned the quote no matter what budget and pricing goals our family had in mind. Logan asked me from the beginning what we were trying to do with our bill and worked towards that. Competitors just came with their biggest system or premium panels. Logan configured a system for us that made us cash flow positive from day one and a monthly payment that never came close to our average monthly electric bill for the life of the loan. Finally, we bugged Logan so much and he was at our home within hours of us having a question to help explain things to us, compare quotes and help us understand what we will get with our system. Our system was installed quickly and they were on top of working with the City so our system was turned on as quickly as possible. Ironically, when I was talking about solar at work, my coworker who raved about solar also had gone thru Longhorn Solar and their experience was nearly identical.

Best Customer Service & Best Price

I started shopping around for a Photovoltaic System for my house (in the city of Austin) last August (2015). I asked about ten companies for a proposal. Longhorn Solar had by far the best customer service AND the best proposal. Alex Ruiz (Account Manager) was most helpful with all questions I had and guided me through the process in very professional manner. The system has been running since October (2015) and has been producing as much electricity as Longhorn Solar's proposal had promised (despite many rainy or cloudy days). I am very happy with having chosen Longhorn Solar!

Alexa Ruiz help me with all of the information that was needed for my final choice company I would use for my solar installation. their numbers were not exaggerated like some other companies. Alex is very helpful and patient when I had to find a company to replace my 20 year old roof. the previous owner did some bad electrical work that I had to do before installation of the solar be completed. here again Alex got his crew to fix my problem, I did not have to pay an electrician for a 3 hour job thanks again Alex. I am very happy with the way I was treated and the system that was put on my home by Longhorn solar company. Bring on the Sun.

My experience with Longhorn Solar was excellent. Before providing a quote, they measured my roof, did a shading analysis, and accurately assessed my annual electric usage. From there, they put together an accurate and comprehensive proposal that was more detailed (and believable) than any of the other quotes I received. No other company got on my roof or accurately determined what size system I would need based on my usage patterns. Only Longhorn Solar included the inevitable inverter replacement cost in their projections. Others were happy to leave this out. Alex Ruiz was great to work with and I've happily recommended him to many friends. He was patient, helpful, and never pushy. Installation was completed in one day and they were quick to activate the system once the city was done with their inspections. I'm only six months in, but so far production has exceeded their projections. I thoroughly recommend this company to anyone considering solar.

Quality/Professional company

We contacted Longhorn Solar about having a system installed on our home in July, 2015. Alex Ruiz came to our home with tons of information, and we have never looked back! We had a 15.5 kW system installed on our home in August, 2015. Alex was patient, informative and we never felt pressured. He studied our energy usage history and developed an easy to understand plan for the number of panels that we would need. Step two was an in depth site assessment to determine where on our roof the panels could best be placed. After meeting with Alex again to set up install dates and times, the installation began! The Operations Team that came to our site worked so well. The panels and inverters were installed in one day. Our site in rural Travis county is extremely rocky, so a second day was needed for trenching with a rock saw to bury the wiring to the meter head. No problem there! After the power company inspectors came, the system was switched on quickly and without delay. The installation looks great and we are extremely pleased. So far the system has out-produced all estimates. We have an all-electric home, and our highest bills are actually in the winter months. Although the bills during the coldest months haven't completely disappeared, they are significantly lower. Our bill, including using the air conditioner, during the fall and spring has consistently been negative! What a great feeling. Alex and Longhorn Solar have done a fantastic job of keeping in touch with us and answering any questions immediately. The ability to track our daily usage on the meter head and the solar output of the system on the website is very useful. Alex helped us get the system set up on our home network and the programs are very easy to understand. We have and will continue to recommend Longhorn Solar and Alex Ruiz to anyone! Better production than expected!

I had a 7.75KW system installed in December of 2014 on a 3700 sq ft home that is 100% electric (no natural gas in subdivision). My highest bill was $53 in Aug and lowest as -$1.36. The system is producing more electricity than estimated so my payback time period is down to probably 8 years. I had a couple issues with the eGuage monitoring system after install but everything is working now. No issues with the hookup or panels. Now I just need one of those new Tesla's!!!

Honest, high-quality work

March 2016: I cannot say enough about Longhorn Solar. From the beginning it was evident that this company was dedicated to professionalism and a high-quality installation. They analyzed the rooftop angles and potential benefits of a variety of placement arrangements and produced a detailed, specific, and clear proposal with explanations for their choices. The proposal included a number of options and their recommendations were based on our individual situation, rather than simply their profit. We agreed to a delayed installation of about a month (compensated) as they were stacked up with orders. During that period they stayed in touch regularly. The installation actually got scheduled earlier than originally estimated. The installation itself was quick (2+ days for a 44 panel system on two separate roof angles.) They even took down an old satellite dish left by the prior owners and patched the holes at no charge. Our 11kW DC system is producing a peak of ~10kW AC and our electric bill went from $160 to NEGATIVE $12 in the first month. The monitoring system allows us to see output from an app / website in real time, including each panel's output, which should make identifying and problems relatively easy (hopefully there won't be any). We could not be happier with the system and the experience to this point with Longhorn Solar. Finally, I want to say something specifically about Bryan Kerr, the representative with whom we dealt. He was absolutely superb. We spoke with several companies, most of which turned out to be middlemen peddling "deals" where the installation was done by someone else and trying to sell a "package" of home improvement measures. These invariably included questionable technology and lots of hand-waving about the benefits. When questioned, most of the salesmen turned out to know little about the product they were selling. Thus it was very refreshing to speak with Mr. Kerr. He clearly understood the details of the PV system and was able to answer what-if calculation questions on the spot. I have rarely encountered a company representative with this level of understanding. When I referred a colleague to Longhorn, it turned out they couldn't do the specific requirements of that job, but Mr. Kerr referred him to another local company that could. Haven't seen that since Gimbels/Macys on Miracle on 34th Street!

They responded quickly and thoroughly to my request. They analyzed my site and needs and gave me a complete quote. We made a few modifications and then helped me get HOA approval. After the approval they scheduled the installation right away. The installation took two days and the workers were careful and painted all the electrical conduits the appropriate color. The system came online and we are happy campers.

Excellent service, great system!

Our system from Longhorn Solar has been great! It's the only way to beat the Texas heat. We have had our system for 2 years with no problems at all. Even after 2 years, Longhorn solar is still checking in with me to make sure everything is ok. Preston Wilson, my new account manager, just checked in with me to let me know he is taking over my account. He made me feel that I will be well taken care of for years to come. I highly recommend Longhorn solar.

Added panels

I would have liked to have had the opportunity to discuss panel layout since the new panels look different than our 1 year old panels. I did not realize the new panels would look different. I did not realize they changed so often. If I would have known ahead of time, I would have asked that all the new panels go on the backside and move old panels from the back to the front.
