Excellent Professional Service
My system was installed yesterday. ION has been extremely professional and communicative. They have a highly developed, modern, and polished business system. There is nothing Mickey Mouse about this company. I am using them based upon a referral of a friend and he has had a similar experience. Everything the salesman said was accurate and I have so far gotten everything promised. I don't really get the few negative reviews I have read. I think they got their companies mixed up.

I was very excited about ion solar. Until they did terrible on our home. We had wires sticking out and a partial bird guard around our stuff. The only thing that looks good is the pipe on the side of the house that is painted the same color as our house. When they installed the boxes on the side of the house it was also not level and looked terrible. It failed inspection by the city too. Not only that they dont call you to check up on you, they text you. When they text you they take forever to respond. They do not communicate with each other, so we still do not have all of our stuff promised to us. Not satisfied at all with this company.

Ion solar review
I would say our experience was average for a home improvement purchase. As with any addition to your home you must be involved in every aspect or there will be dissapointment. I naively made the mistake of assuming the sales pitch would match the experience. Dallon was the sales guy and did a great job. His job wasn't hard because we already had a serious desire. He was VERY knowledgeable. Procuring our financing was a snap. Our credit may have helped with that. Administratively speaking things went as expected. Follow up with Will was average. The HOA was called by a typical HOA nark the day of installation. The HOA was taken by surprise (and gave us a call reminding us of possible penalties) because paperwork wasn't properly filed by Ion. Our HOA has changed alot so part of that is understandable but, again, follow up helps with that. The installation was where the real value of service dissapointed us. The crew and their attitude was fantastic. Smart, efficient and friendly guys. I might be a picky and over-priviliaged at this point in my life but that's not where I came from. I've had to take a bath with alligators at one point in my life. The roof was damaged from the guys pivoting the panels on it. I found panel mounting bolts not quite tightened all the way. The gutter paint was scratched where the panels were scraped along it getting them up on the roof. The electrical panels on the side of the house were not installed nice and tight as promised by our sales guy. They sprawled out and were even installed right on top of a window frame. One of the bare grounding wires could have been routed way tighter. We all know panels and assosiated hardware are one of the most deterring factors for those concerned with aesthetics of the installation and these oversights don't help make the case for solar. We have yet to have the panels turned on. I had to follow up with our energy company who had yet to put in the work order to install their meter. They did so when I called. Again, follow up. As for product performance- the ultimately most valuable aspect of this review -I'm unable to be of any help at all. Sorry. The sad part is that a true review should include this. Most reviews that I have read do not include this so any positive review reflects only service value which for me is the lesser value in purchasing a product such as this one. As I said, my experience was average. You are ultimately responsible for the proper execution of any project you embark on and can only depend on yourself to ensure your satisfaction. "A premium solar experience" is just clever marketing. Stay involved in the project.

If I'd have only known....
If you are looking at solar, look away from Ion!! Once the contract was signed, everything went down hill from there. The installers showed up on time the day of installation, however, their electrician was not with them. After a lengthy discussion with the project manager, I rearranged my schedule to allow the electrician in my home on a Saturday. I was told that this would only take 3-4 hours, in reality it took him all day Saturday and half of a day on Sunday which made me scrub all of my weekend plans. I was promised that the conduit on the side of my house would be painted to match. The electrician found a rattle can color that wasn't even close and half-ass painted the conduit. In addition to the poor paint job, the electrican had also taken down the large exterior cabinet he installed and replaced it with a small cabinet. This left holes in the side of my house which he put some dark gray putty in to seal them (my house is light tan) and never painted them. Ion then tried to start up my system and couldn't get all of the panels online, so fast forward several days later and another crew comes out to trouble shoot (which i had to ake another half day off from work). They found that the electrician had wired the system incorrectly into the breaker panel. This crew finally got the exterior siding and conduits painted correctly. Through all of these struggles, the project manager had promised me some extra incentive money for the extra days of work that I had to take off and the inconveniences for me having to constantly rearrange my schedules for them to fix the work that should have been done correctly the first time. My system has been on just short of two months now and I still have yet to receive the contracted incentive, let alone the bonus incentive. Their office just told me over the phone that I'm getting nothing for all of the troubles they put me through. Folks, it aint worth it. Find a better solar company than me.

My sales guy Dallin was great. Answered all of my questions or got me an answer quickly. He was always dependable through the process. Project managers bounced around a little and communication with them wasn't great. Likely Dallin was able to always help me and get me back in touch with the new pm. They got my system installed and up and running ahead of schedule despite the lack of good communication with pm's.

Good Solar poor staff
They are priced great. But, when it comes to the incentives and none incentives installs they do not know. The project manager did not know what they where doing and i had to work with nvenergy to everything completed and working. As the project manager was not doing her job and the management did not care. As, you can see on the BBB site. This company needs a staff and management over hall. But, the system is great so far and no issues since the install.

Good product, poor service.
The project managers were very unorganized and unprofessional. My installation includes panels on my house, as well as a detached garage. A technician did a site survey, where they discovered the detached garage, as well as the fact that my house has no attic. Their "plan" featured a straight line indicating a connection between the house and the garage. There was no indication of exactly how the connection was to be achieved. When the installation crew arrived, they were very surprised that there was no attic, and, not only that they needed a trench, but that it should have been dug before they arrived. So they were not able to complete the installation. Two days later, I received a message from the project manager that the 811 service had been called to mark the ground. Then, it was 2 weeks before they sent a guy to dig the trench. When he arrived, he was very surprised to see that there was a sidewalk where the trench should go, and he was unable to complete the work. A weak later, when the crew finally came that was capable to remove the concrete and dig the trench, the 811 markings on the ground were too faded and they had to call for the ground to be marked again. This sort of unprofessionalism continued, with many days between each correspondence. But, after a failed trench inspection, a few more failed attempts at completing the project, it finally got completed -- 2.5 months after the first install crew arrived. Also, when they dug the trench, they had to break the sidewalk, and clear some landscaping gravel. They never fixed the sidewalk, and the gravel got mixed with the dirt from the trench digging so the whole area looks like a dirt pile now.

Not sure
My family decided to do a cash deal and I would think that would merit at least a weekly update. I've only heard from the project manager twice in the 6-ish weeks since the papers were signed. I'm sure I'll change my ratings once the installation is done, but it's not a good idea to send out an invitation to review a company before the installation has been completed.

Boise Idaho
We have been a fan of solar, especially when there isn't a lot of options other than the local city power grid. We met Chad W. from Ion Solar. He was very informative and was easy to work with. We were pleased with with the proposal and with the idea that we could be saving money in the long run. When we decided to order the panels, I felt that it went smoothly. It was easy to contact the company and if I had any questions I usually called Chad, and if he didn't have the immediate answer, he would call me not too long after. The installation took a few days (I felt bad it was in 100+ weather). The next day it was inspected by the city of Boise, then two days later the power company came and installed the Net Meter and within a week of having them installed we have been able to use the panels. We are excited to see what happens!

Damaged home during installation, no response from company
Don't use ION solar, find another company. We had issues with them causing damage to our home, and they are now ignoring our emails and attempts to have them complete the repair work for the damage they caused (they stepped off the joist in the attic and caused damage to the cieling in our living room). Additionally, the electrician they sent was a new hire, who had not received sufficient training, and came to complete the job without any senior technician to supervise. After over 12 hrs in our home he left with the electrical being about half complete. Although they knew the electrical was not complete, they allowed the state inspection, and then when the incompetent inspector gave them the "pass", they said, oh well, at least we have the passed inspection. We have video from our Ring doorbell of the ION guy talking about the "passed" inspection, even though the electrical hadn't been completed.

On time and schedule
I've been very pleased with ION. They installed my system in Feb of 2018 and I have been enjoying no power bill for a few months now. The only thing I pay my power company is the connection fee which is a flat fee I guess each month no matter what. My interactions with every employee was overall good. There was some miscommunication with the installers showing up earlier than expected, but when they give you a window of time to show up, you generally don't expect them to be right on time! I would recommend ION to my friends and family.

Unprofessional company
This company was great at taking my money but really sucked at the service. Three times I had to reschedule because of excuses about my roof and the wind etc.... then no one contacted me I had to contact them with the installation crew didn't show up. If I could change to a better company I would this is so unprofessional. I give this company a 0 rating on professionalism.

Great Solar System
The product quality is there and by using a single inverter on each panel makes sense and this is where this company differs from Solar City. From your roof the panels are already coming down to your panel with AC. In all great price and product! Please note that I will never give a five stars because there is always room for improvement!

Finally someone who will answer my questions
This review is just for the sales process as I'm in the middle of the installation project, but so far everything has been going really well. Nick was the third salesman we've talked to about solar but he's the first one that actually answered our questions rather than just going through a rehearsed sales pitch. Our monthly usage is lower than average and every proposal we've gotten from other companies have come in higher than what we already pay. Every other attempt to sell us was trying to sell us on the long-term benefits (which are great) but I needed something that made sense within the first 1 to 2 years. Nick listened and came back with a system proposal that works great for us.

Easy paperwork and nice looking panels
Was continually kept up to date on the status of the project. It looks great and inspection approved everything immediately. They filled out all the paperwork for our local utilities rebate on time, saving us a lot of hassle. The only downside is I had to be home many days for installations, inspections, etc. On one occasion the day's project was changed slightly and I would not necessarily have needed to be there all day and I was not told this until they were leaving at 3pm. I learned to ask when the arrived.
