Everyone at Ion Solar involved with my project, from the sales representative to the individuals involved with installation and set up, were very professional, kind, and helpful. Even when the timely cooperation of our local building department and utility divisions were less than desired the installation team remained patient and professional. Thanks to them the project went smoothly.

So far ion solar has been a very great company to work with. Eric has been great at keeping me up to date with project information. Just finished the install there team was very professional and fast! Panels look great. If your looking for a good solar company look no further.

Rotten To The Core

A few months ago this company had me doing electrical work for them. They gave me over 30 hours of overtime in a single pay period. It was the most work I have put in for any company in my life. I did it in good faith, trusting that they were on the level, and communicated with them clearly at all turns to let them know the complications of the specific jobs they had assigned me. Come payday, my check was nearly $1,000 short. When I questioned them about it, they reneged on the deal by offering me 2/3 per hour of my regular pay for that overtime. They currently owe me $986.01. Do not use their services. They are not above board. They are not honorable. They are a sheisty chop-shop that rushes jobs out and screws over their own employees.

Michael Rowley our project manager kept us up to date even when the project hit delays. We are very happy with the installation project and like the sleek look of our panels. The electrition did an amazing job secind even impressed the Black Hills inspectors.

Customer service

The installation team are very nice courteous and professional. They gave their best in installing the panel even it was windy day. They finished the job. The only thing is the people in the office needs coordination. The Clients needs to follow up on stuff and what process are they on. They don’t give updates to client. They have a poor team communications.

Choose another company!

ION Solar is not the company for you. Once you sign the contract the trouble starts. It took about 6 months to have my system installed. During the project one project manager quit or was fired and I wasn't told he had left. So after waiting for 3 month with no information on the progress of the system I tried to get a hold of the original project manager and was told he no longer worked for the company. The new "project manager" contacted me and apologized for the communication error and updated me on the status of the project. She said they were waiting on the county to approve the plans. After another month or so of waiting I called the county after contacting the project manager to find out the status again. The county told me the plans were approved and were waiting to be picked up. There were several delays in the project that appear to be result of the "project manager" not managing the project. I was also told by the salesmen I would receive $500 from ION at the end completion of the project due to a discrepancy in the financing. The project manager also told me they would pay my first months payment of $125 due to the length of time the project took. Today about a month after the completion they have stopped responding to my requests. If it was possible during the project I would have withdrawn my purchase and changed companies. My wife also notice a crack in the sealing after installation from someone stepping in the attic. At final inspection the lead person looked at it and said it would be taken care of, that it had been happening frequently. A month later I have not heard from anyone.

I feel like ION Solar is a decent company, offering a good product, forward thinking about the aesthetics, and customer support. I had planned to do this project with another company, SunRun, who has more years of experience and was quick and attentive. Their price, warranty, and perks were better (we were working through Costco), and think I would’ve been happy there. ION approached us and came with an estimate way higher ... but then lowered cost to meet SunRun, so I decided to go with the black on black panels and painted conduits and microinverters that ION offers. My project manager, sales guy, and installers were all pretty good. The install was done in a day (yesterday), and I hope everything is up and running after the electric company’s inspection.

Why wouldn’t you?!

Fantastic service beginning to end! Professional, friendly and knowledgeable from sales to design and installation. They made the entire process easy and seamless for us! I highly recommend the ION Solar team.

Great company - pleasure to work with

This company has been very personable and professional from the get-go. Reps have come to my home for in-person visits every step of the way, and they offer top notch panels at a competitive price. They a growing company with small-town type of service, which is something I really appreciated. They also work fast and move through the contracting/installation processes swiftly. While I haven't flipped the switch on my system yet, they've been nothing but great to this point. I expect the system will work great as well.

The sales rep was helpful and seemed to know the information and system very well but was also a little unprofessional with his language. The process was easy and we received good updates along the entire process.

9 hours ago We had a neighbor install solar with Vivint, and said that they liked them. However after doing research on Ion and getting a quote from them, Vivint, and Blue Raven Solar, and meeting with our sales guy (Christian Rodee) who spent a ton of time walking my wife and I through everything... It was a no brainer who to go with. They came in below everyone else from a cost standpoint. Truth be told we were nervous about signing any contract, but Christian pointed out we essentially are in a verbal contract with the power company now and we will always need power, but why wouldn't we want to get locked into one low price were the bill will eventually go away. Solid point... why would want to continue to pay the rates RMP determines?? The guys that came to our home were super nice and cleaned up everything when they were done, including taking off their shoes! Seriously could not be more impressed with the service, respect, and the 1 on 1 attention I got through the whole process. Thank you ION! You will have more business coming your way from our neighbors!

Happy with our new solar panels

We had a great experience working with Ion Solar, in every stage of the process. The initial approach and sales conversations were very professional and educational, and helped us make the best decision for our needs. The preparation and work phases also, excellent employees and good communication all along the way. Now that we are up and live with our own solar power, we are very happy.

Just getting started

We have just signed up to have solar installed by Ion. Our rep, Brian was very knowledgeable in his presentation. They have just completed the onsite survey, and that went well. The person they sent out (can't remember his name) was excellent. Clean, polite, and efficient. Our project manager, Amber, has been in regular contact, to left us know what's happening to this point. Very pleased so far. I will make sure to check back in as things progress.

Overpriced, major misquotes/mistakes, bad customer service

A current customer, some of my panels were damaged in baseball-sized hailstorm. Ion provided a quote, which I submitted to my insurance. After insurance payout, Ion Solar came back w/a quote 3 times the first quote. I submitted it to insurance for adjustment, but the additional payment didn't come close to covering even a portion. When I told Ion's rep I was going to look at changing solar companies, he said Ion charges more than other companies--for the same products/equipment--because they provide better customer service. LOL. Their mistakes, lack of quality control, and bad customer service have caused a big delay in replacement of my roof! I'm looking for another solar company and suggest prospective customers avoid Ion Solar!
