Great Experience, Great Company

I have a very good experience with Intermountain Wind and Solar. I had a 24 panel system installed in 2016 and it was a very easy process laid out very clearly. They made it easy and clear to get the rebates from the state and on federal taxes. My system has been running flawlessly and it's nice to have a $8 power bill on some of the months!

Very good service

Intermountain was contracted by Blue Raven Solar to install our 18-panel system in October, 2015. They did a very quick and clean job of installation, and the system has worked well ever since. One comment I would make - it would have been nice to have the panels installed so that snow would slide off the roof instead of piling up on the roof at the bottom of the panels.

Fabulous Install

The company that sold our solar unit contracted out to Intermountain Wind and Solar. They were so fast and professional. You could tell that they were experts.

Good company

These guys went above and beyond in bidding, installing and answering all my questions on a solar power system. Their work was great and the install looks great both on the roof and in the garage where the mechanicals are installed. I'd work with these guys again in a heartbeat and can highly recommend them!

Intermountain Wind and Solar has installed 3 complete systems for our family. For the last system, we got 4 bids. They were the only provider to actually come out and evaluate the site. They crawled up in the attic to verify the strength of the trusses. They were able to give us the lowest bid because of the way they pool the needs of their customers and go to the hardware provider to get the best deals for bulk sales. Aside from being extremely competitive, they are the only provider to continue to service the units they sell. That IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!

Fabulous company to work with

We have been very pleased with our Solar installation from Intermountain Wind and Solar. They have been professional. There was a problem that turned out to be an issue where part of the system wasn't operating at full efficiency. They noticed this and came to my house to troubleshoot the problem before I ever knew there was an issue.

6KW System in Draper

Had my system moved from Midvale to Draper. The transfer went very well, it does cost some to move a system. I have complete south exposure for 23 panels in Draper. The system is now hitting 6KW several times a day and its not Summer yet. On average for the winter producing 550KWH every month. At the Midvale house the system was broken up which impaired it a little bit. My electric bill in Draper is about $30 each month, though not running A/C yet but the system should be peaking in KWH production. Cannot comment on Net zero since the system was designed for a diferent house and have not had it for a full year at either address. I was a Solar City customer many years ago in a different state experienced no issues but wanted to go with a local company and Intermountain Solar are very reponsive and provided good installation service. Very happy with the system, besides the Tax Break which is a perk.

Ivins system

Their product is great but they seem to have so much going on that is can be difficult to get the right support person during the install process. They coordinated through our builder of the home and that added layers of confusion. Happy with the end result

Superb service and an excellent solar-power installation

My wife and I recently moved to Salt Lake City and looked into solar. We got estimates from four local companies. Intermountain did a really great job and I recommend them with enthusiasm and absolutely no hesitation. Our sales rep, Marshall, was enthusiastic, professional, and extremely helpful. He arrived at our home on time, said hello, and immediately got up onto our roof to check it out for himself (he had previously viewed the Google Earth images). Two of the other candidate vendors sent people up onto the roof, but not as the first step, and one relied solely on satellite images. Marshall was very open about the options (how many watts per panel, the pricing, and return-on-investment tradeoffs). He left us with a firm proposal. We decided to opt for slightly more expensive panels that produced more power, without materially changing the payback period. Once we signed the contract, Intermountain kept us fully informed, and completed every step sooner than expected (permitting, design approval, installation, connection with Rocky Mountain Power, etc.) The crew of five from Intermountain that installed our system greatly impressed my wife and me with their professionalism and care. The were clearly very experienced craftsmen who wanted to do a great job for their customer. Our system was turned on on October 23 and it's been great. I'm delighted with Intermountain.

Bluffdale Solar Install

I've been studying up on solar for about five years. I recently determined that it finally made sense to proceed with installation. I ended up getting four different quotes and ultimately decided on Intermountain Wind & Solar. Regardless of who the installer would have been, I was skeptical on what I'd end up with. However, I had gotten some great feedback regarding IW&S so I felt a bit more at ease. With regard to the final product and total experience, I'm unable to say that I could be any more happy. From the sales, planning, project management, and installers, these people are true professionals. To the day, my system is generating power and working towards a ROI of approximately 6.8 years. I plan to retire within a couple years after the system pays itself off. It's gonna be great to retire with an electrical bill of ~$10 per month. Also, I'm hoping my system over produces slightly as I'll be replacing some of my gas appliances with electric to maximize my benefit. Huge thanks to IW&S. I highly recommend these folks.

Excellent Solar, some hiccups delay production after install

IWS is a well known and respected local company in SLC, UT. I got an estimate 5 years ago, but deferred and got the system installed May 1st. IWS was great even though the installation had a couple of minor complicating factors. They obliged my request to have extra underground conduit installed for later wiring between the garage and the house, they added a car charger on at the last minute, and at the VERY last minute, added an additional 8 panels to the system. Great company and I love the installation. But everybody has room for improvement. After the installation, things fell apart a bit. I had to constantly nudge about the inspection, the reinspection, contacting the power company for the net meter installation, and then activating the system. Because of these delays, the system that was installed May 1st did not go on-line and into production until June 1st, 31 days later. I suggest that folks using IWS seek advance assurances that after the installation things proceed in an expeditious and efficient manner so that production of solar energy is not delayed unnecessarily. This may require the customer to be proactive in nudging the process along.

I am a do it my self person and had cells that i installed from years gone by. I was able to remove those cells and the installer use the same roof mount and fix the ones he had to remove. The job looks great they showed up on time finished and keep me informed on every thing that happened. The installers and electrician were fantastic in leaving things so i could add on when i get more. Friendly and happy employs very nice to be around.

Best Investment Ever!

From my initial meeting with Ben to when my project was completed the entire process was as smooth as butter. Ben is very knowledgeable and straightforward. No hidden surprises and he ensured I really knew how the competitive bids stacked up against IWS products and installation. The installers were so professional and were on site when they said they would be there. They used my third car garage for staging equipment and when everything was complete they actually cleaned my garage better than when they had first occupied it. Very impressive group of professionals. I would highly recommend this company!

Solar panels

I am very pleased with IWS. Their workmanship was great and done according to my needs. I wanted the panels to be very clean looking without any conduit or wire showing and they delivered what i wanted. I only have one conduit pipe showing in the garage with two small boxes for the controls and breakers. I have just gotten my first full month power bill which amounted to only the cost of being on the power grid. The amount of panels sold to me worked out perfectly.

Solar!

Intermountain Wind and Solar is by far the best contractor I have ever worked with. Our system was installed on a Saturday by the CEO and another owner of the company! I highly recommend Intermountain Wind and Solar to anyone looking for a solar installation. Our city inspector even told us that Intermountain does the best work that he has ever seen.

Great Company

Great company to work with! Their salesman was very responsive and their installation crew bent over backwards to do the installation the way I wanted! The system is producing more power than I expected. I am one very happy customer!

Do Your Research

They send a sales person to "sell" you the system. They make promises and non-stop calls after the visit to get you to buy the system. Over 2 years after having my solar system installed, I've never banked enough credits to have year round "no-payments" to Rocky Mountain Power. This is a big sell point, and it just didn't happen. Makes the pay back time for the system quite a bit longer. I'm disappointed that I did not research the right system on my own to get it right, because IWS did not get it right for me!

Layton UT Solar Installation

The company was great to work with. It's clear that they did everything they could to make sure I understood the purchase and the process. They gave me a great price. The company obtained some higher quality panels at a lower cost and passed the savings along. They could have easily sold those at a higher price and made more profit. They were good to keep me informed on what was happening and the time schedule. I definitely feel that I got a good deal and that I was treated more than fairly The only issue I had with the whole experience was a very minor suggestion with the installation crew. They were really nice, but could use some training on interacting with customers. They were just a little rough around the edges.

One of the best installs I've experienced

I had the pleasure of having my home PV Solar system installed by Intermountain Wind and Solar. Every aspect of each process was above my satisfaction and professionally done. From the presentation, site assessment, project review, warranty and tax credit information I received from Andy Hammon to the install team led by Will and especially to "Skinny" who squeezed into the tightest places in my attic to keep the lines hidden and to my liking. These guys really did an amazing job with the entire install! If you are thinking of getting into solar, Intermountain Wind and Solar should be your first call.

IWS Review

System was installed and operational 14 weeks after contract was signed. Contract said 4-6 weeks. Make sure everything is in writing especially things that are important to you. Work crew was efficient and clean, installation was done in one day. Communication between sales and install crew and me was an issue. Didn't like that payment was to be at 100% before they would deliver warranty and operation manuals (flash drive). Flash drive doesn't work and I can't get anyone to respond. Overall, probably, give a good rating but when making this kind of investment in the future I will definitely make sure all verbal promises are in writing.

It took to long to get it installed

I signed the contract on Sept 14 was told it would be installed in 4 to 6 weeks, 13 1/2 weeks later we got to turn on our solar panels. It took from Sept 14th to November 12th to get started on the installation, then from Nov 12th to Dec 17 to finish the project. You would think with a company this large that this would be a no brainier as to how long each step takes, but it seems that the next step was not even thought of until the first step was finished. Your communications need work, I had to send emails to find out what was going on. And the sad thing is I dont remember ever getting a response to MY email, I would get information about 4 or 5 days later. The salesman was AWESOME he bent over backwards for us, but he is not in charge of installation. When someone pays $20,000.00 for a product you would think they would let you know what was going on almost weekly. We are excited to see if our investment is going to pay off as promised.

Excellent service, install was fast and crew was super clean. Price of the system was more affordable than other companies we got bids for. Reliable and the panels look amazing. Warranty and energy reports are the best! Highly recommend

Efficient crew, no high-pressure sales, proactive & responsive

Kudos to our salesman Kendall for his total patience with us. We were firm about wanting to pay for the system out of pocket, and not finance it on a credit card. This process took more than 6 months after our first meeting to square away the necessary funding to make the purchase and pay in full upon installation. The crew was efficient, clean, respectful, and friendly. They completed the install by mid afternoon that same day. All the staff at IWS have been responsive and even proactive in the entire process. I highly recommend IWS to anyone considering a solar install.
