Promises made, promises broken!
We've had our 50k solar system for 7 years, net zero. We had an inverter go out 4 months ago, I reported it. It took them FOUR MONTHS to come replace it!! No one called or texted me to let me know when the technician was coming either! The tech did a good job......corporate....VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! UNPROFESSIONAL....what kind of company doesn't repair (under warranty) for FOUR MONTHS?!!! What kind of company doesn't call/text prior to coming to your home. NO IDAHO OFFICE, ALL BASED OUT OF UTAH!

terrible costumer service
We were extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism. Our project faced delays, which is normal and a understandable, but the total ghosting is unacceptable--specially after we had given them 50% of the payment upfront (which is not little money!). I will not do any more business with them.

Dishonest sales process
I was misled about financing and accruing of interest. As soon as you sign, they will never, ever reply to you. Radio silent from both Intermountain and Human Credit. Don't trust their word.

Don’t be fooled
Don’t be fooled by Intermountain Wind and Solar. They have good salesman but when it comes to installation and actually working with the company, they are the worst. We ha e to beg for an install date and then had to call and remind them we were there every step of the way. Please do yourself a favor and go with another company.

Poor Service
I typically don't leave a review as I know how hard businesses have to work to meet customer's needs. However this is an exception. The initial install was great with no complaints, however now that I have had the system for a few years, as expected things begin wear or break down. I have two mircoinverters which no longer function. I have called the service department no less than 10 times with either no return call, or say they will check it out and assist in replacing the faulty parts. To no avail after 6 months. If you expect service to your system through the years don't use IWS. They are not organized to provide that service. Just hope that the delays will not impact the warranty I hope the parts are under.

installed fine, but though they told us they would monitor our system it was offline for 5 months before WE had to contact THEM to figure out why; hoping to resolve and update

Big mistake
This review is a long time in the making. I had my system installed in early December of 2018. My initial inspection for net metering hookup from NV energy was scheduled for mid to late January 2019. My system failed inspection because they did not install the disconnects in the proper place. So after waiting for NV energy again to come out mid to late February my system failed inspection again because they did not fix the issue correctly the first time. My system was finally approved after multiple failed inspections in mid to late March. For some odd reason I decided to refer a friend of mine to have his system installed. He has had multiple issues with intermountain wind and solar as well. I also haven't received my referral fee. His system has been working for four to five months now. And to top it all off after thinking that they were doing their job and monitoring my system I login to find out one of my panels hasn't been producing for over a month. Upon notifying them they said it must have slipped through the cracks. And then it took them a week and a half for somebody to come out to my house. So I'm down 1 panel still and regretting my decision to go with intermountain wind and solar. Maybe they're worth a hoot in Utah but in Las Vegas they seem to have big issues.

Frustrating Process
I was excited to get panels on my roof, but this had to be one of the most frustrating processes I've ever been through with a contractor. I had them install panels late last year and the entire process was one big headache. I've never dealt with a company with such poor communication. They didn't communicate with me and they didn't seem to communicate with each other. Most of my questions went unanswered and the salesman didn't really know much of anything about solar. I was directed to their sales manager, Justin, several times but wouldn't ever bother to call me back. I'm glad I went solar, but I wish I would have done it with a more professional company.

Quznap79 - As CEO of this company I wanted to reach out personally and sincerely apologize for your experience. It is very rare, as you can see from our ratings both here and other review sites, and I want to make sure we address what we can and, if possible, bring your experience with IWS to a satisfactory level. Please let us know if we have an opportunity to address your concerns.

Best,

Doug Shipley

Not as Promised
Intermountain Wind and Solar installed solar panels on our home in September of 2013. We paid $24,964 out of pocket. After tax credits the net paid was $15,286. Intermountain solar indicated on their bid that we would save $1185.75 per year or $99 per month. I have kept careful records and determined that over the last 26 months my average monthly savings have been $74/month or $888/year which is 75% of what their bid indicated I would save. I live in Bountiful and our rate is .085/kwh which is lower than that charged by Rocky Mountain Power. At this pace it will take 17 years to break even with the $15,286 investment. For this reason I do not recommend solar.
