PowerWall2 replacement experience with PowerWall3

Freedom Solar Power replaced 3 of our PowerWall2 units with PowerWall3 units after an internal fault and a Tesla recall. Tylor Webb and Stephen Saldana worked hard and well together. They overcame several obstacles (e.g., our units are located relatively high off the floor and the mounting brackets are different for the PowerWall3s compared to the PowerWall2s so making the installation look good was a challenge. Nonetheless, they "cleaned up" the preexisting conduit, spaced the PowerWall3s nicely, and my discerning wife was very pleased with the result. They communicated well with me during the entire process and cleaned up the debris when the job was done. The two guys were great!

Everything they offered in sales, delivering and installing was exactly what they said. No issues. Now my neighbors are waiting for my first bill, and then they'll decide!

My TECH was Angel Morales. Fantastic service! Angel was on time, curtious, and was able to fix my HVAC quickly. A real PRO and took the time to help me understand what the issue was how to avoid it in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

UPDATE: We are five years with the system. First problem. Now the real test on customer service. Charged $350 for "Dispatch Fee". You know its all in the details of the paperwork you don't read when you do all the signing at purchase. Anyway, I paid the fee as I already was shipped the microinverter from Enphase under warranty. Turns out the initial microinverter that was not producing was never connection/registered properly. Really long story, but to keep it short, I am just asking for the dispatch fee back as I feel the system was not 100% at installation. This should be covered under their "Workmanship Warranty" It has been almost 5 years. That is the reason I say this is a good test on how companies take care of their customers. IT'S REALLY THE AFTER THE SALE CUTOMER SERVICE THAT MATTERS. I will update you after out come. Freedom Solar just completed our panel installation. Christopher Snyder was extremely professional and thoroughly explained the benefits of going solar and entire install process. Every member of Freedom Solar that I had contact with were truly professional and went above and beyond to make sure the entire process went smoothly. I highly recommend Freedom Solar for anyone's Solar needs.

I am absolutely ecstatic about my new solar and battery system! From the very first consultation, the process has been seamless and professional. Sam Cochran, my Energy Consultant, was incredible to work with throughout the entire project. He provided clear, detailed quotes for my 35-panel system and 3 Tesla Powerwall 3's, ensuring I had all the information needed to make the right choice for my home. Sam went above and beyond, even helping me navigate a substantial TNMP rebate for 2026 that saved me $3,750. His communication was top-notch, keeping me updated on everything from the WPI-8 windstorm certification to coordinating with the roofing team. One year of solar

I’ve had solar panels with Tesla batteries for one year now and I’ve had zero electric bills despite Houston heat and humidity. I’ve dealt with Sam Cochran who is extremely knowledgeable about the solar installation process, and who has followed up on a number of occasions with me. I wholeheartedly endorse installing solar panels and would recommend Freedom Solar without hesitation.

Good Company w/ Great Workers

Freedom is a good company with great people that work for them. One of them being my main contact, Silvana Escalante. She was great!! She helped me through each step of the way from first contact, to the installation, then to the post install effort. She listened, to every concern I had and took it all into account. Very helpful, as well as knowledgeable in explaining every facet of the process. I valued that greatly. Everyone was good to work with, and the system that they put in place was ready to go ahead of time and worked out very well for me and my family.

Fast, Professional, and Exactly What I Wanted

Freedom Solar did an excellent job with our install. Alina was fantastic — extremely responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. Any time I had a question or concern, I could text her and she got back to me quickly with clear answers. Gerardo, the electrician, went above and beyond, working hard during the install and even coming back multiple times to make sure everything was dialed in and working exactly as it should. The installation itself was fast and clean, and the system has been performing flawlessly. We’ve already seen a solid drop in our electric bills. I came in with a very particular setup in mind, and Freedom had no problem getting me exactly what I wanted. They even included extras like duct sealing that improved our HVAC efficiency. Couldn’t be happier — highly recommend!

Freedom Solar saved me $$$$ on our 20 Solar Panel Installation. I shopped around for 20 Solar Panels from 3-5 Solar Companies. I wanted to "Zero Out",our Perdenales Electric Bill. Besides,6-8 months,an Electric Bill at $3-500 each month,we can pay off the Solar in 10-15 years!!! We have a 2350 Sq. Ft. Home. Air Conditioner is our "energy hog." We have an Electric Dryer also. Without Solar,$350-500,a thermostat set @ 78 degrees,around the clock. We had Leo and Joshua the Solar Panel Installers. The "Dynamic Duo" showed up on time,early in the morning. They proceeded to get out their Solar Plans,measure for the rail mounts system,drill,and install mounting brackets,rails,seal,etc. It was a tad bit windy the install day,and it is NOT an easy task walking up a ladder,loaded down with a Solar Panel. Leo,Joshua were young,strong,gifted,intelligent, "All-Pros!" Mounts,Rails,Wiring,Solar Panels,Electric Pipe all in. "The Dynamic Duo" were finished with their portion of the job. The Freedom Solar Electrician was to set the Solar Electric Panel,finish running wire and pipe from Solar panels to new panel.And tie into existing 200 Amp Panel. From start to finish,getting HOA ,City,Perdenales permits,etc.,to getting the okay to place our Brand New Solar System "Online",2-3 Months. Thank-you Freedom Solar. Thank-you Leo,Joshua,"World-Class Service!" Freedom Solar do give these two a 10% raise. Leo and Joshua are "the Backbone of Freedom Solar." Yes,I'd refer all friends and family to Freedom Solar. Should I need to install more Solar Panels at a future date....Arnold Schwarzenegger said it best,"I'll be bach!"

We started looking at solar two years ago. We interviewed a lot of companies and salespeople. Every one of them we talked to were more interested in selling us something instead of helping us understand the pros and cons. Then we called Freedom Solar and along came Bradley Dette. He was awesome. He helped us with every question we had, made sure we understood how it worked and if it would be beneficial to us. We finally decided it wasn’t us. Two years later and several rate increases later we decided to look into solar again. We called Freedom solar again and talked to Brad again. He was more than happy to sit down with us again and help us decide if solar was for us. After talking to Brad we told him it was such a big decision that we wanted to interview more companies. Brad told us please do, I want you guys to be 100% happy with your decision. A few interviews later we decided Brad and Freedom Solar were our best choice. We are happy we did. The installation was great. It looks great. For us it is everything Brad said it would be. Freedom Solar and their people are amazing. Everyone cares about your happiness and approval. They treat your home like it is theirs. The panels and batteries we purchased are just like Brad said. We have been live for two months and the savings are already adding up. Our first bill is was $11.00. If you are thinking about solar consider talking to Bradley Dette and Freedom Solar.

Very happy with move to solar

We had solar panels installed last year and have been generating electricity since December 2024. We have 32 solar panels and three Tesla powerwall 3 batteries for our 3800 square-foot house. We are generating enough electricity during the day to power our house and keep our powerwall batteries fully charged. The batteries power the house in the evening and then we have a nights free electricity plan from 9 PM to 7 AM. With this setup, our energy bills have been essentially zero for the last four months even despite 90+ degree temperatures. Sam Cochran with Freedom Solar been a real help – very knowledgeable, very easy to reach, and a real advocate in working with the company. I would highly recommend adding solar panels and using Freedom Soar.

Worth It…

It was a long process: system was signed for in August, permits obtained in September, panels up in October, then a wait on the PowerWall… but it was well worth it, and my Freedom Solar Team (salesman Sam Cochran and my “point of contact” Christopher Brown) kept me apprised of everything (the “myFreedom” account is very handy). The system’s amazing, and the App is especially amazing - you can pretty much see everything you’re using (refrigerator, stove, etc), and it’s fascinating to see how the big stuff (vacuum cleaner, HVAC) impacts things… It’s also interesting to see how the 4 components (solar panels, PowerWall, your home & the grid) interact with each other. But the driving motivator for getting all this is only just starting to sink in: I’m not at the mercy of ERCOT or our aging electrical infrastructure anymore (we’ve already had two power interruptions and I didn’t even know it!) Plus, the monthly electric bill will pretty much cease to exist (and let’s not forget the Tax Credit that’s coming). Bottom Line (IMHO): Although it takes more due-diligence, I believe solar’s a better all-around bet than a generator… you’ve just got to be in it for the long haul.

Excellent experience

I contracted Freedom Solar for my solar panel system and they were great. I recently built my house and had several headaches with contractors, but this was not the experience I had with Freedom. They showed up on time when they said they would, the installation took the amount of time they said it would, and I am producing my own electricity now. I had an issue with my property association delaying the project and the Freedom Team, including Shane and Torrin, went above and beyond what they were required to do to make the project come to completion. I really appreciate the hard work!

Silvana at Freedom Solar is the Best

I got Freedom Solar to install my original 10 panels and 1 Tesla Battery almost two years ago. After Hurricane Beryl left everyone else without electricity for 8 long days I had another Tesla Battery installed to be able to have a more bearable A/C situation the next time. Now I’ve installed 8 more panels and hope to be nearly off grid most days. Silva a has worked with me every time. She is great: professional; helpful and available always. Freedom Solar is fantastic too. Maybe not the cheapest but no nightmares like with so many fly-by-night operations. You get what you pay for: dependability and great service. Incredible performance and in fact we’ve had the system for 18 months with zero problems. Our home was powered 75% of the entire year of 2024. That included our two EV cars! We’ve never needed a service call other than when I needed a new password and that was done over the phone in a matter of a few minutes. The install was supper clean and our system is much better designed than 2 families next door to us that used a different company. Go solar if you can.

Silvana is very knowledgeable in helping us with understanding Freedom solar products, advantages with switching to solar and selecting the right package for our needs. She is very supportive throughout the whole process and keeps us informed at all times. I would recommend to my friends and family to Silvana if they are also considering to switch to Solar.

Freedom Solar Power Delivers!

Freedom Solar Power did EXACTLY what they set out to do and that was to effectively get rid of my really high power bill and get rid of the annoying short power outages. Sam Cochran came to my house and laid out a really awesome system that fit my needs. I was already under contract with Sunrun and I felt it was ok. Sam just asked if he could stop by and go over my needs. Best decision I could have made. Philip Aninzo is also a major player at FSP! They understand teamwork. I have an awesome battery and switching system from Tesla, best in class mounting system, Span Electric Panel and locally made 400W, sleek panels. My new electric bill is 1/10 of what it was. I sell back power for credits and utilize the nights free plan. Josh Wolfe who runs the service department is one of the best out there. He makes sure that any issues are dealt with quickly. Highly recommend Freedom Solar Power, they are the real deal. And no I don’t get any compensation for this review. I’ve had this system for 3 months now. I just wanted to share my authentic experience for those of you who are still on the fence.

Had a great experience with Joe. He was very knowledgeable with the product. Gave me some good pointers. Overall a great experience.

Initial communication was seamless. However at very end after the installation the communication was not that great. As I had to call in multiple times to understand the status. That could be improved a little. But I was lucky my agent was handy- text/ phone call away and was able to address my issues to him.

Everything was explained well to me and I look forward to the installation.

Excellent service

I ended up choosing Freedom Solar for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the panels they offer are high quality with a good warranty period. Secondly, my consultant (Sam Cochran - EC in Houston) has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He made sure to answer every single question I had (and I had A LOT) to make sure I was satisfied before making a decision. He sent over numerous proposals which I had requested so I could compare all the different scenarios. He also did not try to oversell me and made sure that what I was getting was reasonable for my situation. I've had the system installed for about 2 years now and have not had any issues. Recently I decided to add a second battery and I reached out to Sam again for advice. As always, he was extremely helpful and truly went above and beyond to help me make the best decision.
