Six Plus Years

My 5.1kW system was installed in 2018, and as a guideline, I multiplied the number of panels by $1000, and then add another $500-900 for the other equipment needed (solar panel mounting racks, DC Disconnect, Inverter). At the time, from 2018-2020, you could receive a Federal Tax Credit on your tax return if you paid in full. The rebate form was Form 5695. My system was designed to attach to the existing grid, therefore no batteries or charge controller were needed. When panels produced more power than you used, the digital meter provided by NV Energy, credits my account (net metering). If the grid experiences a power outage, the inverter will prevent the system from putting power on the grid, and will not feed your personal use. This is a safety measure, so that workers attempting to restore power to the power lines are not electrocuted by solar systems feeding the grid. Solar Power System have five areas in the system which experience power losses. 1. Manufacturer’s power tolerance. (1%) - All panels have a power tolerance. Worst case is that the specified power output is actually 1% lower than spec. 2. Temperature Loss. (10%) - Most solar panels lose about 10% of their rated power on a 25°C day, more if it is hotter and Nevada is hotter. 3. Dirt (5%) - When your solar panels are put on your roof, airborne particulates like dust will settle on the panels’ glass. These particulates block the amount of sunlight reaching the solar cells behind the glass reducing your power. The reduction in power from particulate build up typically lies in the 5%-15% range. I haven't seen more than a few percent over these six years. 4. Wiring Losses (voltage drops) (2%) - All the solar panels on your roof are interconnected with wires, then a long pair of DC wires connects the final solar panel to your inverter. All these wires have a small electrical resistance, which means the electricity flowing through them will suffer a voltage drop. This will reduce your power proportionally, typically by around 2%. 5. Inverter Efficiency (4%) - Everything goes through your inverter so the inverter efficiency will directly affect your system output, estimate another 4% loss. Multiply all those together and I expected 20% total losses, giving a real world peak power of 4kW for a 5kW system. Most installers will estimate an efficiency of 78% to account for losses due to wiring and conversion from DC to AC power. My 5kW system had 17 panels, each at 305W. In a sunny place like Las Vegas, our solar irradiance was estimated at 2000. My estimate using websites, was 2000 (solar irradiance) x 5.185 kW (system size) = 10,370 kWh x 0.78 (efficiency) = 8089 kWh/year x $0.12/kW (power rate) = $970 savings/year. The contract estimate was 9,661 kWh with 0.7 percent drop each year. The reality was, full years, 2019 - 8951 kWh, 2020 - 8874 kWh, 2021 - 8857 kWh, 2022 - 8797 kWh, 2023 - 8593 kWh. If you know Vegas weather, 2023 was a rainy year for the area. The estimate was too high but the drop off wasn't that high. I've had two service calls, when they saw my power drop off due to transmitter issues, the first time the transmitter failed and the other time it needed to be upgraded from 3G to 5G. No issues, awesome service. NV Energy gave me a rebate for $1k, and the government $5K. Had to add pigeon guards for $1K. Hope this helps others make the decision.

We are in Washington state. Signed contract 2 weeks ago, panels installed last week, electrical and house inspections already done (and passed) and PSE inform us we should have approval to go live within 30 days. All time lines have been met, communication has been excellent and installation crew (installer & electrician) very good. Freedom is responsible for everything but sales and installation are a local company.

I wish to say thank you to the massquatch crew as they did an incredible job on my 2 unit home. They were professional and courteous as well as the sales representative and office personnel when dealing with the business via phone. The installers were diligent and focused on the work to be done. They were respectful of my home, asking me if they should remove their shoes prior to entering as well as to myself, the property and my neighbors. When the job was completed, they had cleaned up the yard and some had remained to check that things were correct. I am very pleased with this group and would recommend them for service. I am now waiting on the inspector as the woman who called me got on it right away to have that scheduled and just needed an available time for me. Through this whole process, they have worked with me to go with what fits best on my time. No pushing me to take any date but what was convenient at my end. I highly recommend this western Massachusetts massquatch crew.

Great Experience so far

From sales to installation, everything went very smoothly. Our system was installed about 90 days after signing the contract. We have been live for 2 1/2 months. All promises have been kept to date and the system is working as promised. Last month's electricity bill was $10.46 for the required minimum connection fees to Ameren.

Used Boundless Inc & Freedom Forever and everything was so seamless and easy.. Forest was so informative and was so nice explaining when we had questions. Would recommend to anyone wanting to go solar!!!

Pretty Good

Im sure its Office to Office, But I had a great time with Freedom Forever and Trevon Johnson. I was told from the start how the project would go, 2-3 months, but the whole thing was done in 6 weeks

Solar panels and Tesla battery

We are very happy with our solar panels and battery. Salesman, Ryan Stilwell, was the best. He said he would be with us every step of the way and he was! The installers came on time and did what they came to do. No problems at all. I highly recommend Freedom Forever!

easiest thing i have ever done

the freedom forever installers were here on time with a 30 min heads-up to their arrival. an hour and a half later. I was all set. It took Idaho power approx 60 days to ok the switch over . Works great.

Great experience

The sales representative that we worked with was very knowledgeable and straight forward and actually came to our home (not just another representative trying to sign us over the phone, which many other companies tried to do). He stayed in touch and kept us in the loop of the process answering any questions we had. We felt very taken care of with him. He prepped us that our project would take some time and to be patient. We had to have trees cut back before we could proceed with our solar installation. The communication was spot on and our panels are up and running saving us from our horrendous electrical bills with Eversource. Our kids our proud to tell their friends at school we are a clean energy home :) Highly recommend working this company! We are very happy customers!

I spoke with Malique regarding solar panels for my house. I did not purchase at this time because it turns out I have four to five years life remaining on my roof and it seems wrong to put solar panels on an old roof. The information gleaned from Malique and the team of engineers he worked with gave me a good idea of how many panels I need and the best locations for those panels on my roof taking into account trees in my immediate vacinity and the path of the sun throughout the year. I never felt any pressure to buy at this time but I will certainly contact them when my new roof is in place.

Outstanding time in processing/installation

In less than 30 days, Freedom Forever, Maryland was able to process the application documentation and complete installation of a 51 panel Solar Panel project for my 5 bedroom/3 1/2 bath, 2 1/2 story home. The work ethic, professionalism, and proficiency of the installation team (Leatherback team), was superb in every way. They arrived promptly at 0800 on both of the two days that it took for the job, worked quietly, cleanly, and solidly as a team, without stop both days, until the task was completed. The professional work ethic of this team was beyond outstanding. This is the most pleasant, rapid. and successful project I have had agreed to do since buying this home new 19 years ago. Love my solar
