The install and products have been great. The reason for 4 stars, the coordination of permits, inspection, is disorganized. If I hadn't taken the bull by the horns and preset inspection dates, it would have taken much longer to get the certificate of operation from the electrical supplier

Almost Awesome
The install crew was attentive and knowledgeable for my solar and batteries. The only real complaints was not getting a call they were on the way and the crew driving onto my lawn without prior approval. Other than that, it went smooth.

Overall pretty good, but...
I was promised 6.8kW power, and about 6800 kWh per year, and that's what I've gotten. In the 17 months since installation, I've had only a couple of minor glitches with the inverter. Right now is the first major problem I've had -- we had 10" of snow, and for two weeks, no power collection obviously, but two days ago I went on the roof and cleaned off some of the panels (the ones I could reach with a broom). However, I am still not collecting power. I had a long conversation with Jaycel, who was very courteous and well-informed. She explained that the problem is that the number of the optimizers currently operating on the panels is below the threshold to allow power collection. This seems to me like bad design. Regardless, I am waiting for a little more snowmelt to see if the optimizers stop misbehaving -- if not, I will try to do the system shutdown and restart procedures that she recommended. We'll see what happens. I am still glad I had the system installed: total solar power production has exceeded our home's usage, so have zero electric distribution costs from my utility, though I have a very small system connection charge. But it I can't get the current problem fixed, I will not be a happy customer.

Darn, lost first copy of this. Excellent rapport with your rep. , Jude. He found the site and project I.D. s for my hookup with net metering. He also initiated a ticket to cancel the lien you put on my home. I have to wait now for you to send me the lien release. Have to tell you: Jude has an extremely pleasant voice. Great English, and very easy to understand. It was a real pleasure speaking with him!!

Good work!
Installers were professional and worked much longer than we expected. They were short a part, came back the next morning, and finished the install! Our only thought for improvement would be that the person inspecting sites before the install be better trained, because what was suggested for the install did not turn out to be feasible. It wasted time. Otherwise, the installer crew was the best.

My rating of 4 was mainly due to the excellent response and assistance from Jacob and Edwin. My overall experience would have been better. I received an addendum to have my solar panels removed within a 60 day period but unfortunately that didn't happen. Until I spoke with Jacob, it seemed as though this wouldn't get resolved. A big thank you to Jacob and Edwin!

Timeliness
Sales portion was exceptionally professional and polished. The administrative side wasn’t as smooth. Switched from lease to ownership well before installation. Ended up with two separate time lines/projects that were never merged, and still aren’t, despite multiple contacts with people “in the know” of the process. Information flow slowed and became jerky. It’s as if the lease people don’t communicate with the ownership people. Installation went well, except a hole in my drywall above the breaker box. First electrician made it. Second electrician figured out better routing. Hole remains two months later. Company says the job requires a contractor for the work. Ticket for the work is open, but communication has slowed to a crawl. Time will tell if customer support will match what was touted in sales presentation.

Mixed bag
Sales rep was really great before and well into the co tract, but in the last 2-3 weeks I can’t reach him. Customer service today - Jazmin, was extremely helpful and provided a lot of detail. My residential dite is apparently difficult. The project is 2 months behind. There was a month with zero progress and no feedback. This time was another month with no feedback, but the CS rep listed a lot of activity in this time. I’m becoming concerned about missing the federal deadline Dec 31. That’s $12,000 to me. Plus, life. I need this to get done. I’m not providing ratings on the remaining pages because the project is not complete and it’s a mixed answer to every other question. Jazmin: 5, sales rep: would have been 5, now 3.

Overall installed review
Let's start with the positive, Julian the electrician and team leader did a great job installing the solar panels, gateway, 2 breaker/ disconnect boxes and piping very neatly. The crew clean up after working inside, outside, and commission the solar solar system today, according to Julian everything is working but, I need to wait on town inspection and Unitil electric to change the meter. Freedom Forever swapped out my solar panels for lower wattage and less efficient ones, and made up overall wattage by increasing panel count, I don't like that!

Customer service good
When I had to call customer service, they were very nice and easy to deal with. And the salesman was very professional and responsive. When I text him the crew that did the electrical and style was very efficient. The crew that installed the panels however just showed up, didn’t tell me they were at my home and I didn’t know they were there until my dogs were going crazy played loud music to where my neighbors complained so I had to tell them to turn the music down so I wasn’t very pleased with that crew individually. I’d give them about a 2 1/2.
