It’s been 2 months and solar system still ain’t running

Freedom Forever is one of the worst, nope they are the worst..

I was WRONG when i bypassed there ratings, I should have went with my gut but i liked the Sales person.. He was good then and still is good but the company and how they do business is shady!. Freedom Forever is one of the worst, nope they are the worst company I have worked with!!! They are incompetent, they do not follow thru, they do not take pride in there work, and they do not value customer service.. Any owner can make a response but the key is what do they do when it is happening, and the company chooses not to even call, compensate, or take responsibility for there failures!!!

If you want frustration and a bad system...

When we first got our Solar installed through Freedom Forever. Everything felt great, install process was not that bad, customer service was ok. Part of my own screw up with this company was trusting how the system was built. For being mildly into car audio and electronics decades ago, some of that training with inverters and amplifiers and wattage kicked in when I kept seeing my 8.9 kW system max out at 6.0 kW. Having that much loss is too much. Electrical clipping you want in a range of 1.15-1.35 (Total Watt of System / Max Inverter Watt). Some is ok because you can save a little bit of money since not every day is ideal weather. My clipping for my system is at 1.48 and I have a loss of 8.9 kW - 6.0 kW = 2.9 kW from my panels to what it can handle. Or a 48% difference. I have talked on phone and mostly through emails with their customer support. It has been almost 2 months going back and forth with ZERO progression to getting this issue resolved. Their support won't transfer me to management or engineers to discuss this. They just refer to my 'production guarantee' which they based it off the 6.0 kW inverter. So they think this will save them, but if you built the system wrong to begin with, then you either need to give me a better inverter or remove panels off of my system. Their customer support has repeated our process 3 or 4 times now going from 'production guarantee' to saying they will get an engineer to give me an 'upgrade quote.' They sent an offer of $1700 and said they have to charge me Labor, inverter part and permits. Where I live, permits are not needed. This is also not an upgrade, but they always say that word. One even told me "Well you signed the contract..." Beware of this company and their deception. I offer to pay the difference of the newer inverter that would make this system actually be efficient, but I will not pay for their lies of permits costs or labor. They also said the system built would cover ALL of my electrical costs. Since I got the system I have reduced my own energy consumption by 15% and recently had to pay another $3000 to add more insulation and a radiant barrier. Time will tell how much it will help but too recently done to see how much it will help. I am still paying my electric company and it is providing about 50% of my energy demand. Which will change in the summer time where most consumers use their electricity. Once again BEWARE of this company. I feel 0.5 star would be better to give for this company. Unfortunately you can't do this on the website. Save yourself from a headache by making sure to either hold their hands if you have no choice to use them. But I strongly have to suggest to look elsewhere. Update 4/21/21: They are now offering this fix for just over $1000. They told me they decided the system built ‘is sufficient for 25 years’ after saying in 25 years it would be. So why would you build a system to be ‘sufficient’ after 25 years?

Run don’t walk to another company

Zero work ethic or response for complaints do your research before signing with this company even if something is in writing you’ll be lucky to get it run don’t walk to another company

Damaged my roof while install and failed to mention it

4/7 Fernando and the crew (dodgers) came to my queen creek home to install solar panels they never mentioned they were done or they were coming back. same day I inspected the roof and saw damage panels broken about area of 5x3 with a garbage bag trying to cover it. I understand mistakes happen walking on the roof you break tiles but they never mentioned it tried to be sneaky.

Terrible company to deal with

Any business malpractice attorney there, please contact me, I want to sue this company. I signed a contractor with them in late October 2020 and they installed the Solar panels but as of today, March 31, 2021, they have not install the Electrical panel yet. In the mean time, I was auto debited by both solar company via bank and pay my energy bills. They are terrible company and I want to give them negative 5 stars if I can.

Scam

Salesman came to my door and told me that I could save money on my electric bill. He told me that I would save money due to net metering. It turns out the electric company I'm with does not do net metering. Also the installation was improper 4 where are the panels were located versus where they needed to be to be efficiently picking up Sun. Also the system was designed at too low of an output 4 actual savings. Conclusion, now I pay 40% more for electric then I did without panels! Customer service refuses to do anything about it! Customer beware!

Unprofessional Sales Team

Cody Tobar said he could get near a certain price per kW, and set up a meeting with me and his “top solar tech” Eric. Cody wanted to know if my wife could be on the call, who was simply not interested in listening to a pitch (did you learn this tactic in your sales class?). Eric didn’t show up for the call and Cody asserted that my price per kW target was unrealistic. He should have stated this at the beginning instead of wasting my time. This company seems like a boiler room that just wants to book sales. I’m glad I disregarded them early.

Buyer beware !!!

They signed a contract for one price and then changed the price and backed out of an executed contract. Find another solar company! Because of them I lost out on lots of federal credits when I could have went with another company that wouldn't have backed out of a contract.

Terrible Service

They recently installed my solar panels last October 19, 2010. When I started looking at my energy production vs. consumption, my panels were not making enough energy for the needs of the house. Freedom Forever is the installer but their agent is Sunder Energy. I have called the rep and he is not calling me back, called Freedom forever and all they said at first was that they just install the panels and it was between me and the rep. I finally found a number in Facebook after searching high and low and this guys is all the way in El Paso and Im in Houston. He looked at my plans, sighten, electric consumption and determined that the panels installed were undersized for my home. The firs rep promised an offset of 83% and they installed 55%. I didn't trust them anymore and called Reliant my energy company and went through the entire 2019 energy consumption for 2019 and after calculating everything our home used 14000or so KWH and they installed 8094KWH. Now they re nowhere to be found. I trusted them when they computer the panels for the home but they just ripped me off. Placed a complaint in BBB and got a response from Freedom Forever but still they say they forwarded the complaint to Sunder Energy but still no response from Sunder Energy. Such a terrible, terrible experience so please avoid these companies. Now I have solar and paying more for energy that before I had solar.

ALL wrong

If I could give them -5 starts I'll do it. Everything goes wrong with this company and now I'm paying two bills when they promised to me I won't. My sales representative, Jeff Roman, never answer my emails or calls, customer services only says "you should pay for more panels, it's no our fault that is not working" and "you have to wait one year" and while I wait I have to pay TWO bills.

Hired Thieves & Let it be???!!!!!!!!!

Is it Legal for a Salesman that works for them to get a signed contract from a woman he Knew had Dementia Before he managed to get her to sign? He was informed BEFORE by one with Medical Power of Attorney here in Colorado. The company that collects the Money for them also knows and had begun taking out the Pymts for them. A little over a mth goes by and the woman Died. & as his Son/caregiver was trying to deal with everything on top of loosing his Mom, these people are getting paid!!!! He is so distraught and fears because of this company he is going to loose his Families/His Home. Please HELP, before his Granddaughter & I possibly will loose him!!!

The Sale Pitch

I bought my system in March 2020 thinking i could save money in trying and diffilcult times . I was told after the installation I would have a 60 day trail ,which has come and gone sence i started making payment . end of July 2020 and the system is still not turned on . the only right thing freedom has done was to reimburse me for payments made . Costumer service will not give you any answers to your questions . Their responce is we will have some one call you . So you are on your own . Loan Company will only go as far to say we are the loan company and can not make any thing happen . Freedom said they are just the installer . And the sale person said it was not them it is on freedom . The Smith in Phoenix Az.

Horrible

We signed the contract in August of 2018 and paid for the 15k system. It failed inspections over and over was finally turned on in February of 2019. We noticed a leak in our roof and the roofer came out, left because panels needed to be removed another week goes by and panels are off. Roofer comes out verifies nothing was used to seal holes when installed and we have been waiting ever since with some panels in our courtyard on the ground and system unhooked again waiting for 2 weeks now on approval to repair the damage they created to roof. So in total 9 months since process started our solar has ran 1.5 months and is now on the ground unhooked waiting for a roofer approval again. Not to mention the wait we will have for the repair, reinstall of panels. We were told they have new customers to deal with and I guess since we already paid are no longer a priority even though we have no solar! I want them to take the panels off my roof, fix the damage they created and give me back my money at this point as they obviously cannot install or handle solar. We feel duped and want others to know before they get involved with this company. 9 months and still not an operating solar system with roof leaks on brand new home is completely ridiculous when other neighbors have had other companies install theirs in 2 weeks! Beware you will not get answers and service from Freedom Forever, they dont even show up after appts are set.

Pigeon Purgatory

Freedom Forever was very efficient with regards to installation. They were in and out in one day. The efficiency of the system installed (Sony) has been excellent. Follow up and customer service has been the worst I've ever seen in any sector of the market. I can no longer reach my sales representative and the customer service line has now ignored my requests for help a total of three times. I now have a large family of pigeons living on my roof that seem to enjoy being under the solar panels. Under the guidelines of my warranty with Forever Freedom, I cannot have an outside contractor install any type of pigeon control on the panels. This will void the warranty. I've contacted customer service several times and they've been willing to give me a price for the control system; however, getting them to actually have a technician come out and install the pigeon control system has proven to be impossible. They have ignored my requests and do not seem to care about being contacted by the Better Business Bureau (I've filed a complaint). I would recommend steering clear of this sub-par company, as they have the worst customer service of any solar company out there. My house is infested with winged rodents and covered in disgusting bird feces thanks to FREEDOM FOREVER (ironic name, don't you think?).

They never finished

Still waiting for them to bring out the inspector, but they have fallen off the grid. They don't answer phone calls and I tried contacting the company of Facebook and they won't call me back. Maybe if I don't pay for the system they will call me

NO customer service on a verified complaint caused by company

Installation in Santa Rosa, CA started well, we thought, but there is no back end service and I can not get the company to fix a problem that they created and admitted to creating. They want me to cover the cost for their mistake and keep dragging their feet to fix it. Had a great experience with determining pricing, selecting panels and moving quickly to get panels installed before the end of the year (2017). Panels are good and the data from the system is valuable. However, after installation, we found the the inverter that the designer selected was WAY undersized for our system and cutting off our power generation each day by as much as 15-20%. After bringing it to the attention of the tech, I was told to wait to collect more data. I did. We both looked at more data and confirmed and agreed that the inverter was undersized and significantly cutting our generation potential. After some investigation, the tech told me directly that the Freedom Forever system designer had a misunderstanding about sizing inverters and the inverter they spec-ed and installed was significantly undersized. He said there were other customers like me with undersized inverters and they were working on a solution. I was told I was at the top of the list and asked to be patient. That was March. It is now the end of July and they are still asking me to be patient. We have just gone through peak production time for the year and I can't get them to come in and fix the problem they created. Countless e mails and phone calls. I did not get this to the "escalations" department until I hinted about social media and writing a negative review. I was asked to be patient for a week. then another, and now a third. This is an easy fix. I am and have been willing to pay for the difference in the inverter cost, but they can not figure out how to pay for the labor for their own mistake. This is not rocket science and now it is costing me more money. I could have paid $6300 LESS for a system that produces as much electricity as what our undersized inverter is allowing. That is a significant extra hidden cost to me based on a mistake that Freedom Forever created. I was a vocal advocate for this company based on our initial experience with installation. But, based on their collective inability to fix an obvious customer issue that they created, unresponsiveness, and endless loops with people on trying to fix the problem, I can no longer recommend them.
