I give this company no stars! Don't use them! You will not be happy! Some work was not completed on my project and I had to fight and fight to get reimbursed for it! Then I find out that they reported that reimbursement as earned income with the IRS. This isn't earned income. It was a reimbursement for charges to me for work that wasn't completed like it said in my contract! There is almost no customer service! If you can't send a check for over $600 without filing it with the irs and make a customer pay taxes on their own money that was REIMBURSED NOT EARNED,, then send more than one check! This company is HORRIBLE!
Response from Freedom Forever
The IRS requires Freedom Forever to obtain a signed W-9 form prior to issuing payments to customers. If the number of payments issued in a calendar year is less more than $600, you will receive a Form 1099 from Freedom Forever. We are unable to give tax advice and recommend you keep all expense invoices and receipts that relate to the payment you have received (for example, finance payment statements, subcontractor invoices, repair and maintenance supplies, expenses, etc.) and reach out to your tax advisor to obtain guidance on how to treat these expenses on your tax return. This is company policy.

BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT USE FREEDOM FOREVER
On top of all the design and installation problems, it took 6 months and numerous install changes to get my solar system approved by the local power company. During the installation Freedom Forever damaged my house. Now they are reporting to the IRS the damage reimbursement to me as reportable income which I have to now pay taxes on!! I have called, but of course there is nothing they can do about the incorrect 1099. Theey could issue a voided 1099 - but no they say there is nothing they can do! Freedom Forever is the worst solar company! They don't know the local solar regulations and they obviously don't know the IRS regulations either! DO NOT USE THIS SOLAR COMPANY -You will regret it if you do!

Gonna have solar install DON'T have Freedom Forever do it
Freedom Forever is a company best described as the Walmart of Solar. I honestly think you would be better going with Walmart. First I was supposed to have it installed within 90 days, Fail took them 8 months and still wasn't fully operational for another month, 2nd day of power transfer was supposed to receive $1000.00 - Fail, (in fact a supervisor told me that isn't going to happen. Also I reached out to the salesman, he was no longer with the company because he said they weren't paying him and owed him several thousand dollars) 3rd I wanted to be completely off grid. I was told that was no problem . They said that my county won't allow it, something they should have known since I'm not the first install in my county. 4th Takes weeks to get them to come to service the system when there is a problem. 5th If a part goes out they come take it, tell you they are gonna order a new one & be back, but just close the case with no feedback or repair being done. My metering unit was faulty and leaked water in shorting the router and they told me I am responsible to replace it. The unit is just over 2 years old now but when originally reported the problem it was under 2 years. I called the company that provides them the parts and they read me the report that Freedom Forever put in which was a lie (why would you have something installed at that cost and not want it after it went bad?), Freedom Forever told the company that I requested to have it removed and turned off. Lie, Freedom forever in an email to me told me that the company Solaredge told them it was my problem. Solaredge verified that Freedom Forever closed my problem ticket to resolve the issue. The part has Hot wires in it that could short out if exposed to water, and cost apporx $400.00. So they, Freedom Forever also don't stand by their contract, warranty, or anything. If you're thinking about Solar, I'd make sure they aren't the ones having anything to do with it. I will be filing a negative report at least once a month, maybe more than that.

Couldn’t get anyone to respond to our pleas for help. Don’t use these guys!! Several neighbors concur!!

Cost - interest charges denied
I contracted with freedomforever for installation of 29 solar panels Might total was 35000 plus with the statement (interest included). This a little high but I accepted. Installation was started July 7th and concluded with the installers breaking a garage door window which did not get replaced for quite some time. During the monsoon season rain entered the hole and soaked the panel resulting in warping of the panel. I have been promised a new door but it is Jan 2022 and still no door. The door is the least of the problem The salesman then tried to explain the payments but I told him that being 75 years old I had some problems understanding but he said its ok sign the paperwork and they will help you. I did that much to my dismay because that involved me being financed by Mosaic who charged me another9000 plus bring it to a total of over 45000 dollars!! I the called freedom forever and told them that I was being charged twice for some interest. At that point they denied that there was any interest in their charge. So, a system with an average charge of 25000 now wants to cost me 45000. I think that with my research solar companies charge up to 14 percent interest! I think the whole thing was a set up to take advantage and I fell for it. I doubt that anyone can find a company that charges that much without interest for 29 hyunia 305 watt panels ? I don't have a lot of money since I live on a fixed income but have contacted the Arizona Attorney in hopes of help. If that is not going to happen I will have to find a cheap attorney and file bankruptcy. I would not recommend this company or caliber solar (the salesperson) to anyone wanting a square deal.

Awful experience
Warning do not use this company! The customer service does not even deserve 1 star! After the contract was signed, the communication was non-existent. The system was sold to us in June. We were told it would take about two months to complete the process. We were also assured that no payments would be made on the loan until our system was operational. Lies on both counts. The loan company began taking payments in September. Our panels were not even installed until September. Then, I could not get anyone to answer me by phone or email about when this process could move forward. After countless phone calls, texts and emails, in October they informed me by text that there was a module layout change and the permit team needed to do revisions. When I reached out again for a timeline, nothing. Finally, on November 20, I received a text saying that the city is going to conduct a final inspection on December 10. After that I was told it can take several weeks to get permission to operate. If the system is not operational by the end of the year, we will not be eligible for the tax credit that they use as a huge part of their sales pitch. We have had to make 3 loan payments so far on this system. The payments have been submitted for reimbursement, but nothing so far. The whole process has been so frustrating, so if you are looking into going solar, please do your research, I wish I had.

Hello Leiann, We're sorry to hear about the negative experience you've had. Our Sales Representatives are Independent Authorized Dealers that use our services to install projects and Freedom Forever does not sell systems nor qualify loans, This is all handled by the Independent Dealer whom you have signed a Solar Contract with as well as the agreement with the lender, who is not Freedom Forever. It would have stipulated on the agreement with the lender when your payments begin. As a courtesy, Freedom Forever will reimburse for all loan payments made prior to PTO - permission to operate. We will be assigning a main point of contact to keep full communications with you as well as the duration third party entities, such as a utility company can take to commission the system, which is out of our control. Feeling scammed
Project is still not done and its been eight months since the contract began and four months since the first failed inspection and relocation of equipment. More importantly, they don't reimburse you for what you spend for nothing and won't call you back. Once your dealer gets you to sign, (in my case JW) you will never get a response from the team again, You call customer service and speak to someone who can't help you and is sometimes rude, so they can pass on your message and call you back with a response from the person you actually need to speak to. There is no customer respect, you really feel like you were screwed out of 50K and can think about nothing else but finding a lawyer. Don't stress yourself, go elsewhere, there are so many places that will treat you like a valued customer and not give you the year-long hassle, Freedom will. They refuse to tell me when the inspection is going to take place. The mess in my garage is 8 months old, so don't believe them when they tell you it will be don't in 3 months tops, they are lying. Freedom requires you to pay for the panels each month on top of your existing electric bill when they are not active and promises to give you your money back. I was told at the beginning I had to pay while they are inactive but it would be two months tops. However, they connect to your credit report immediately, so you have to pay if you care about your credit. They promised to reimburse me for my several months of payments since October 9th, but still have not. They are withholding more than 1k of my money that would have helped pay for Christmas. With the pandemic it is difficult when dishonest companies like this steel $171.00 of your hard earned money each month and with promises of lower electric bills. I only went with freedom because they assured me I would get my solar up before the 20% electricity hike, But I am starting to think they have a deal with the State to drain customers as much as possible. Yesterday Ian the awful customer service rep tells me I can go ahead and call my attorney if I don't want to wait another 6 weeks for the money owed from eight months. What type of customer service is that? Gangster shakedown mentality. They are holding my money, keeping my home is disarray, causing my family emotional distress with their refusal to communicate and I the one shelling out 50K is the bad guy. Freedom doesn't care about customer satisfaction or ethical business practice, You'll get your money and service when they are good and ready to give it to you, and since they can effect your credit, you must take the abuse. Customer have no rights or respect. Go anywhere but here trust me, your life will be stressful with these clowns. I am terrified about this transaction and have lost many nights of sleep. So stressed about not being respected as a customer.

Poor quality, worse customer service
Every year we have issues with our system and this year is no different. My true up bill is $1250, which is actually lower than the previous three years, despite being promised my system would produce 110% of our highest bill. I have sent numerous emails and spent countless time on hold once again to have some low producing panels replaced. Last year it took a negative review on Yelp to get any assistance. I guess that's next. You would think for $408 per month that we would have a system that works properly. I hope I can leave zero stars in this review, that's what your company has earned.

WHERE IS MY BACKUP BATTERY REPLACEMENT
We wanted solar and decided to go with Freedom Forever Solar out of Temecula California. The initial installation went well. After about three months the system kept going up and down. It was difficult scheduling technicians to come out. Either they were no shows or if they did come they could not figure out the problem. We were told about 6 months ago that the LG back up battery we currently have was recalled by the manufacturer and a tecnician would be put to shut ours down until the replacement came in 2 weeks. Installation was scheduled by Freedom Forever Solar for October 13th between 0700 - 0900. We changed our schedules around to be here that day. No one called or showed up. I called about 10:30am to find out what had happened and was told they were in route. About 2 hours later I got a call stating the backup battery was not available and there was no date when one would be and they would give us a call. It is now October 16, 2021 and we are very disappointed. We have no idea what is really going on. It is obvious that the customers are not the priority! Still no battery.

LIES INCOMPETENCE POOR TREATMENT
LIES INCOMPETENCE POOR TREATMENT I have never seen a company more incompetent and lie so much and then treat the customer as if all the issues were their fault. I signed my contract October 27, 2020. As of today October 8, 2021 (YES ALMOST A FULL YEAR LATER) I do not have a single panel installed nor are they moving to cancel the contract as stated multiple times by the sales rep Mike Bond. I was assured that at any time prior to panels being installed I could cancel the contract without issue. The first time I tried canceling the contract was maybe 10 months ago. Some woman from CA (I'm in CO) said that wasn't possible I had to cancel within 3 days of signing the contract. Whatever, they actually started to do something and I thought I would have an install soon. Nope. The next time I tried to cancel was maybe 3 months later. This time they put me in touch with Chris D (full name redacted) from their customer retention department. That department alone should make you want to run far away from this company. Anyway he assured me things were moving and I would have an install soon. Nope. The next time I tried canceling I had a quote from another company for a larger system and $15k cheaper. They dropped their price $10k and said install was soon so I stuck it through. The next time I was going out of town for business and they claimed to have the contractor ready to come dig the trench needed for the job. The problem was NOBODY thought it necessary to mark my utility lines. The trench was to run across an existing electrical and propane line. This was compounded by the fact that my lines are considered private and 811 doesn't mark those so a private company had to do the work. Anyway I gave them a date range to get it done or I was finally done. My circumstances changed and I tried unsuccessfully at first to let Chris know. When I finally got ahold of him (what a chore that is) the trench was scheduled to be completed 3 weeks early. I thought finally we're getting somewhere. Nope. The trench was dug but NOBODY scheduled the inspection nor the panel installation. More than 2 weeks after the trench was dug I still had an open hazard in my yard. This time I called MOSAIC to cancel my loan because my emails and texts were being ignored. Also, this is what Chris told me to do before the trench was dug. I explained to them everything that had happened and their rep could only laugh with me at Freedom's incompetence. After that phone call I was hounded by both Mike and Chris both of them promising that they could do in TWO days what they couldn't do in the previous 11 months. It was too late. Life happens and now we need to sell our house and this is one hassle we don't need yet still fighting with because they REFUSE to admit their mistake and cancel the contract. During the hounding Chris is bullying me into proceeding by telling me I owe the company $8500 for the trench that was dug. Sorry pal, I've done construction a 45ft trench does not cost $8500. Besides if Freedom had done their job 12 months ago I wouldn't be sitting here writing this. If they did their job 9 months ago or 6 months ago or 3 months ago or even 3 weeks ago I would not be sitting here writing this. They failed every step of the way and refused to accept any blame putting it all back on me and then saying my wife wasn't professional when she told them to shove it. I think a mirror needs to be used. Did I mention that I’ve been paying on this system even though it’s not installed?!? I’m supposed to be reimbursed but that’s not happening either!!! Oh, and they’re not responding to the lender. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH FREEDOM FOREVER!!!!

Very Disappointed
My experience with Freedom Forever has been one of the worst with any business I have ever dealt with. Since this long and arduous process began in December of 2020, there has been nothing but problems every step of the way. I chose to go through Freedom Forever because they were able to accommodate me getting a much needed new roof with my solar. I was sucked into the "bigger is better" solar company illusion, and didn't think anything could go wrong with the largest solar provider in the U.S. I now wish I would have done my research and gone with ANY other provider. First, after months had passed without a single notification of where we were in the roofing installation process, and three separate companies coming to take measurements, we FINALLY had our roof installed. I assumed the process was going to be speeding up at this point, but I was mistaken. The panels were then installed by a group of very unprofessional people (both appearance and behavior), who not only could be heard cursing (I have young children), but left garbage and cigarette butts on my property. At this point, I was extremely disappointed with my experience, but tried to remain optimistic about the progress and just wanted it done. WRONG AGAIN. The panels sat on my roof for months without being hooked up due to a part being on backorder. During our initial meeting in December, the Freedom representative informed me we would be needing this larger part. It would seem to me that 6 months is more than enough time for the part to come in. By this time, it was the middle of Summer in northern CA, and my PG&E bill is skyrocketing. At no point during this process with Freedom did anyone ever reach out to me to let me know what was going on. I always had to call and ask. When the part did finally come available, we were contacted to schedule our installation, and would need an electrician to come install our new panel. The morning of installation comes and the electrician calls and cancels, stating it is too hot to work. The weather forecast is known far before the morning of a job, therefore we should have been notified well in advance. Instead, my wife took a day off work for no reason and no work was done that day. Another month goes by before they can return, and another PG&E bill comes in without solar being hooked up. The electrician finally came back to hook up the new panel, only for us to find out we now have to wait for Freedom to come back and do “electrical work”. Freedom has come back to do "electrical work" 3 separate times, and here we are on 9/24/21, still unaware of the progress of our system. I currently have no idea if I am hooked up to solar and I have racked up over a $3,000.00 PG&E bill due to Freedom's short-comings. I cannot afford to pay $800+ per month for electricity, HENCE THE AQUISITION FOR SOLAR LAST DECEMBER.

Broken Promises
We had Solar Panels install by Freedom Forever LLC in April 2019. The sales process and promises does not live up to the spirit of the contract. The Solar was sold on a Zero true up after one year. The after one year the true up was about $1,000, they claimed the System was producing exactly as it was designed and they do not guarantee a dollar return. The first winter produced a roof leak which they fixed to our satisfaction. The second year the inverter died for about two months before it was fixed and was replaced at no charge, the true up was around $2,000, we were told the production guarantee would pay us back. The second-year engineering review in May was a check for around $600.00, it is now September and we have not seen the check yet, even after many calls. They keep telling us it takes time to cut a check. Each time we call the hold time is around 30 to 50 minutes. PG&E reviewed the system along with two other 3rd parties and all of them agree the 7Kw system with a 5Kw inverter will not zero out the annual usage, and this was promised to us. We requested an upgrade and they quoted us another system that was half the cost of the original and 30% of the panels. We want Freedom Forever LLC to step up and repair our system to what was sold.

As others say, failure to communicate
90% of our experience with this company has been horrible. It is mid august now and we started the process in May, it is still not done. They delayed our initial install because “the trailer with our equipment was in an accident.” Whether it is true or not, they magically had our complete system available to install the next day, after an original 8 week lead time. The crew that installed the system was awesome. They did good for sure. Weird thing is they were out of Boston, MA and we are in Reno, NV. Short staffed? Since the install in June, we were contacted to be at home so their guys can finish up some details. The voicemail we got was they needed to install placards, label the panel and drive ground rods. The guy that showed up only did the placards. I forgot to mention that I have worked in construction in Reno for almost 20 years, so I know how this works. I have been told lies many times now about how inspections work. I have personally called in 1000’s over the years. Apparently I don’t know what I am talking about. They tell me that the inspectors are booked out for a month. Weird, I can get inspections the next day 99% of the time. They have sent a text after 4-5 in the afternoon saying they need to be at the house the next day to “finish up” or for an inspection. They have been out a total of 5 times to the house, have done only the fire inspection And STILL need to “finish up.” Last week on Tuesday I got an email from them stating our final inspection will be scheduled for this Tuesday. We make arrangements to be home and hopefully get this mess done. Today, Monday, while in a meeting, 2 of their guys show up to the house. I see them on our camera system. They are walking all over our yard, looking how they can get in back, trampling all over our new plants and grass. One of the guys even puts his face up to the window to look inside! During this, their office calls me literally 3 times in 5 minutes, then texts. After my meeting I let them know via text we are not home, send screen shots of the email stating the inspection is tomorrow. The reply back says, “no, it was today, now we need to reschedule.!” WTF?! I check my email again, and ANOTHER confirmation came in for tomorrow. I screenshot that, send it via text and this time, “their system doesn’t show that!” Are you kidding me! Now, I have reached out to my jurisdiction to see if I can personally handle the inspection to get this done. Summer is almost over and the system has yet to run. This company needs to learn how to communicate in a very bad way.

I called him and he just went on and on as to the fact that after 2 months of the unit being installed I do not have enough credits to perform as I was told. He never mentioned credits at all and after 2 months of collecting the suns rays and supposedly being installed to produce 110 percent of my power needs, I should not be getting an electric bill. Two months in a row i have gotten a bill. Instead of telling me that I do not have enough (credits) maybe he should have suggested to me that he would send a technician to see if there was indeed a problem. With that in mind I would just have to surmise that he lied to me.

PG&E came to look at and told that’s not there responsibility. It’s the freedom forever. Months past by again. There’s a technician came look and said to me he does have the part. After months 2nd technician the same thing no parts his just going to take photos. Finally the 3rd technician fix the meter. Months past by again City inspector came and said needs to have a electrical ground. Until then been calling and sending email. It’s 8 months now. My solar still not working. They said The PG&E needs more photos. So, they submitted the missing photos. They said they waiting for the PG&E for a approval of operation. Nothing. So, prostrated. To the point I just want to give the solar back. I don’t want it. Still waiting.

Stay far far away
I had the salesmen/distributor come January 18, 2021 to my house. We signed on that day thinking the price was pretty competitive albeit over the national avg per kW. Site assessor came out early February, inspected and took photos of everything, no issue there. There is almost too many issues to speak of with this company from slow response, inexperienced designers, pricing changes, sloppy documentation, and absolutely the worst communication ever. It is now mid June and I still do not have a system design agreed upon let alone installed all while they have the first lump sum payment. What should be a 1 day slip in schedule is always at least a week if not more. You need to stay on top of them or nothing happens.

Thief's, liars, and the worst solar company ever!!!!!!!!!
Freedom Forever gets NO STARS in my book but this format will not allow me to give a negative star!! They did not put in the system in the configuration we agreed upon in our proposal with Sunrun, they lied to us, stole cordless batteries and cordless tools from our garage, made a mess on our property and did not clean it up. Did damage to our roof and will not take responsibility for it or fix it. Freedom Forever customer service is a complete waist of time as all they do is pass the buck and nothing ever got resolved. They never return calls, and can never be reached when i do call and leave multi messages. The fact that they have a whole department to deal with issues speaks volumes!!! Going solar was supposed to be a good thing ~ i'll take pg&e over these buffoons any day!!!!! Get your act together Freedom Forever!!!!!
