Tough to get resolution

I'm in Colorado - after they have your $ they're out the door, we've been waiting months to get solar switched on. Went with door-to-door for their financing option, but not worth it if the system never gets switched on. Having ~1 hour waits anytime I call and still panels not turned on after 2 months, nor any movement, is frustrating to say the least.

I can't say for other states but in Florida is a big scam. What they promise on the sale will not be delivery. They sold me a 17.5kw/h with only produce 11kw/h on top sun of Florida. I had to add a extra insurance to protect my house because an state law force for anything bigger then 10kw/h need to have 1M dollars insurance and I'm paying this just for the extra 1kw/h. on top of this if you have any problem ( with you have to notice by your self because the suppose monitoring system do not work) be prepare to be mounts with out the system and paying for both (solar and power company ) because looks like they order the parts on demand. if they says "don't worry if we do not produce the contract amount you will receive a check with the difference" I'm still waiting for the check of 2021. now my system is off (second time) for a mount now and they just told me, I wave to wait another 6 to 8 weeks so they can get the parts.

Do not go solar

Do not go solar until these companies are regulated. It seems all they care is getting the installation done and the money. Even if you save money from electricity rates going up, it is not worth the hassle. I just don't have time to waist and list down everything wrong with this company. Just dont do it.

most unreliable service BUY ELSEWHERE

$81,000 for a system that was installed 2 months late, placed in service 2 months later. System operational 01 April 2022, 27 June 2022 the system stopped working. I called the main office and was told the Inverter went bad, a new one had been ordered and will take 7 Business days. I called back 2 weeks later was told 14 Business days for delivery. I called again 2 weeks after this and no one could give me a timeframe for repair. I called again the second week of August 2022, and was told the inverter will be installed on 18 August 2022. The tech arrived in the morning and left after an unknown amount of time without saying anything. at approx 3:00pm CST, I texted the install coordinator (Damien) asking why my system was still down, Damien told me it takes a few days for the system to recognize the new inverter. That evening I texted again because I received a message that said my system power was off asking if I should turn it on. Damien said he contacted the technician who said that he would turn it on. I texted again a few days later asking why my system is still down, it was only at this time Damien told me that they ordered a new inverter. I asked why, if they just installed a new one a few days ago. Damien said the technician notes stated that the + terminal on the new inverter was broken so they ordered a new one. I called Solar Edge and asked the sales person if they had my exact Inverter in stock and how long it would take for delivery, The sales person told me that yes they have the inverters in stock and provided me with an invoice with a 5 day delivery date. 2 weeks later I texted the local manager Drew explaining the situation, he never replied. 1 week later I called Drew who said that they received a bunch of new inverters and that he would look into it and call me back. He never called back. I texted him a week later still no reply. 03 October 2022, I called freedom Forever customer support and spoke to Andrew Carr. I explained the situation and he said the inverters have been on back order from Solar Edge and they weren't sure when they would receive them. I told him that I was informed by Solar Edge that they inverters are not on back order and they have several in stock. Andrew Carr had no answers so I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told that no one is available to speak to me. I asked for a phone number of someone higher than him, he said that he doesn't have any phone numbers other than his own. I asked for the names of his supervisors, Andrew told me that he cant release that information and suggested that I call Solar Edge. Basically he knew nothing and helped with nothing. Freedom Forever's customer service seems to be nonexistent.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE USING FREEDOM FOREVER SOLAR

Freedom Forever Review: Going on ten months and solar panels are still not activated. Freedom forever has given me every excuse in the book. They will blame the city, AEP, ect however, those guys respond quickly in comparison to Freedom Forever. The absolutely first thing I want people to know is, NEVER USE A SOLAR COMPANY THAT DOES NOT HAVE A LOCAL NUMBER TO CALL, an actual existing location. Google Freedom Forever and you will see an (888) numbers as their contact, that’s because it’s a customer service line, not a manager, not a worker at its location and when you request the number for the location, they do not give it to you. So, there is literally no business to contact and speak with on why it is taking forever to get your solar panels activated or get a missing item needed, even just a photo that’s requested took almost a month. There is no manager you can call. The person they give you as a contact is a sales representative (Nathan – California) and when that salesperson returns your call or your text, and you request to speak with their boss, their supervisor (Kriscely – who knows) who does not answer or return text messages. These were sent in August, to date she has never ever replied. I was told to email for FASTER RESPONSE but I was given a phone number to contact her and to date, Oct 1, 2022 have not received a call or returned text. In researching how long does it take to get solar panels installed and operating, 3-6 months. I signed a contract with Freedom Forever in Jan 2022, we are October 2022. My neighbors come by and ask me all the time, how are solar panels going? Do they really save you money? I tell them I would not know because they are still not activated. My electricity contract expired in May 2022, so I was excited about having solar installed and ready to go for the summer. I live in south Texas and we get lots lots of sun in the summer but no this solar company has not completed the job so being out of contact with my electricity provider I went the entire summer paying $300.00 dollars a month for electricity and there are only 2 people in my household, thank God. I can go on about the work, I have found a solar panel bracket in my yard and damage to my fixtures on the roof. Reimbursement-I started payment for my solar panels in May. Freedom forever will promise to reimburse those payments. Reimbursement for solar payment is low. I would be saving more money if these solar panels were working like they promised instead of having pay $300 a month for electricity. I have not received payment for Aug or September, after being told they will overnight it. Nathan makes a lot of promises he can not keep. As far as I know Nathan owns Freedom Forever because I have spoken with anyone else after requesting a call from the upper organization leadership. It was cheaper for Freedom Forever to reimburse the solar payment than offer to pay for the electricity you are having to pay for because they did not keep their promise. The is so much to cover, missing work to meet their technicians because one time they forgot to turn my electricity back on while working on breaker box. I can’t tell you how many times I was told activation should be in so many days.

Customer service post installation

This company is a scam. After less than a year from the installation, the inverter on my system failed. After the first month of extremely high electric bills, I inquired FF about the problem. I was told the inverter died but that a new couldn't be had for over 2 months due to supply issues. Not my problem. After 3 months (June July and Aug ) of very high bills I was told to submit a claim form for reimbursement and to include a years worth of electric bills so they could verify kwh usage. I was told to the reimbursement would take 3 to 4 weeks. It has now been 8 weeks and counting. I have called customer service numerous times and always get the run around. I have asked for contact info for their Account Management dept so that I may inquire directly about my claim instead of speaking with a rude, apathetic customer service rep.. I was told there is no name, number, or email for such a dept with FF. They are scammers and do not follow through. The customer rep I spoke said the call center was out of LasVegas and believe me they were of no use. I have not been able to reach anyone in this company. I whole heartedly encourage anyone considering using FF to go elsewhere. A horrible, very dicey company.

I will recommend not to go with this solar company. Our system was installed and there were so many problems. Half of our panels were down and not producing energy. Thank God when I called saying why am I still getting a high energy bills and they said oh your system is not performing. They said it should have came up on their side to send someone out but I had to call as my system was down for about a month without me knowing. Calling customer support is a joke, I had extra panels installed incase I wanted to add like an electric car plug in or something. Nope my system says it's performing but I'm still paying high electricity bills. When the guy did my estimate and see how much panels I needed I guess he didn't know what he was doing as I'm still paying for power. If you are interested in solar do not use this company, I called customer support and left them messages to call me back but haven't heard anything from them.

I'm writing out of frustration because of our contracted additional solar panel (7 panels) being hopelessly delayed past the guaranteed completion date of 9/16/21. The delay is with final certification with our utility service in the integration of the new panels with our old system. Unfortunately FF customer service can only apologize and say "they're sorry" as their messages for their own FF interconnection department personnel are left answered. Meanwhile we have no solar and we keep getting monthly charges from FF purchase program ( Mosaic).

Quick to sell and install, slow to resolve issues

At this point I cannot recommend this company to anyone. We had our solar system installed in April of this year. Come August the inverter went out and my system stopped producing solar. I called in and they assured me it was ordered and that it would take up to 30 days to arrive. Day 30 I called in to see if I could get a status update, they said they would log a ticket with the shipping department and they would get back to me that day by phone or email. The next day I called back and was given the same speech with no call back. I proceeded to call every day until day 35 and finally got a “they confirmed your RMA order has been placed, but we have no ETA on when it will arrive”. When I asked if they could log a request to SolarEdge and find out where the order was and provide an ETA, they told me it was impossible. So now I have been paying for my electricity from Duke as well as the loan for the solar system for over a month. This company simply does not care about its customers, only cares about racking up installs, stealing your money because they are putting poor quality products on your house. How there hasn’t been a class action lawsuit against them is beyond me. I wish I saw all the other similar reviews before agreeing to spend double on electricity. Please please, if you are considering going with Freedom Forever, look for a company that stands behind its products and cares about their customers.

Quick to sale to you but slow to fix

After having the solar panels installed (which was eventful and not in a good way), we used for about 8 months and they went out. I called and they told me it was the inverter and they should have it in six days. After six days I called back and they said because of shipping issues it could take up to a month to get the inverter. This is in Texas in July (so one of the hottest month and when energy use is very high). I called each week to check if it arrived. Finally after a month, I called and was put me on hold. when they returned to the call they told me it arrived, and would have it scheduled to be replaced. A week later I still hadn't heard anything so I called. They said the installers were back-up but would get to me. I called back a week later and asked for an update. It was a different customer service person and they put me on a long hold and said the inverter just got in so they should be scheduling it. I told her they told me it got in two weeks ago. She seemed thrown off by that. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He came on and assured me he would check into it and call me back. He never called back. Its been two months and my solar panels are still not working. I'm making payments on solar panels that aren't working plus paying an electric bill in Texas in the two hottest months. I would never recommend this company.

Promises made but NOT kept.

Our Freedom Forever Solar system was installed quickly with no problems. The first month the system produced a good about of energy and we were happy. During the second month the system started losing energy production. We were told our system was constantly monitored so we didn't worry much about it. We thought perhaps weather was the problem. Then the 3rd month the inverter stopped working and the system stopped producing any energy - in the middle of summer in Arizona when we use our air conditioning the most. We contacted Solar Edge who makes the inverter and were told not to expect a new inverter for at least 30 days due to shipping. We also contacted Freedom Forever and were told nothing could be done until the new inverter was installed. It's been over 30 days in the heat of Arizona summer - nothing. I contacted Solar Edge and Freedom Forever, again with NO response from either company. We paid cash for our system - $30,000, and only produced solar energy for 2 months! Now they refuse to contact us or give us any information on what they are doing to fix the inverter. We are very disappointed with Freedom Forever and would suggest people who want solar on their homes find a more dependable and reputable company. We brought our concerns up to the sales rep before the solar was installed and he assured us Freedom Forever was a good company and we would not experience these problems. Apparently his company let him down and have made him appear to be a liar.

Had Solar panels on a tile roof installed 8 weeks ago by Freedom Forever. As will happen in construction they broke a bunch of tiles. Took a month for them to come back and in that time they did not cover any of the voids with any protection, plastic sheeting or anything. Came back unprepared and were not able to complete the repairs again. Again left the job without protection over the voids. 8 weeks later we still have missing ridge caps without any protection and can not get a call back or anything. Nice people at their customer service phone line. They will say anything when speaking with you and then no call backs no follow up, nothing. Take the money and not finish the Project

We signed on with Freedom Forever in November of 2021 with the sales person Adam Larson who said we could be completed with our project by February. In April they finally came and set the 28 solar panels on the roof and left.. I was told the next step was a new 225 electrical panel. In March PG&E showed up to shut off the power but no one from Freedom Forever was here to work and PG&E left. After several calls they came in May to install the new electrical panel, PG&E and City of San Jose also came. City of San Jose inspector said Freedom Forever had the wrong permits, PG&E could not shut power off as the feeders to the electrical panel could not support the 225 amp panel and the left. Now one would think that the person that came out in November from Freedom Forever would have checked to see if the new electrical panel would fit the existing service from PG&E. Then someone from Freedom Forever forged our name for full payment from Mosaic Bank that the project was completed. Mosaic Bank paid Freedom Forever $37,000 dollars and we are stuck making payments on a project that has not been completed and abandoned by Freedom Forever. When I asked Mosaic Bank how they could pay Freedom Forever in full without asking us they said nothing and if we stop making payments we would be turned over to collection. We have repeatedly asked Freedom Forever Solar for hard copies of our contracts. These requests continue to be ignored, just as our numerous phone calls for completion are ignored...no one will answer our questions. Now all I want is for Freedom Forever to either remove the solar panels from the roof or complete the project. I am also lodging a complaint to the contractors board against Freedom Forever for their performance in this installation.

Oversold and under delivered

The salesman Craig Burell is pretty slick. I know nothing about Solar I sought out a company and they seemed to be very responsive and quick with the quotes. I was sold 91 panels that produce about 27kilowats. I guess that is quite a bit. I did ask to oversize it as I planned on bringing my bitcoin mining rigs to the house. Those things use up a ton of energy. I remember my conversation with Craig letting him know my objectives. So he sold me a boat load of panels, however did not sell me anything to store the power for use at night. So now my solar payment is as much as my Electric bill and I still have a high bill and sending a bunch of power to the Grid because I never brought the mining rigs home. So I called Craig told him of my frustration and that I thought he over sold me and with the cost of what I paid over 100k I should have gotten something to store the power for use of my stored energy at night. He said he agreed and would get back to me. Weeks turned to months then a year and still no Craig. So I call his mobile he never answered, So I call the company. Only to find out Craig is no longer there? I found that a bit strange as his name is all over their web page. So they send out some young guy who knows nothing about solar but would be happy to give me a bid on some Tesla Solar Batteries to store my power. But... the catch was I had to buy more panels. "Company Policy he stated" So I asked him to talk to the boss and let them know what happened and see if they would make an exception. He called me back and said no exceptions. So I finally got in touch with a great guy named Mark from Sun Valley Solar. He talked to me on the phone for about an hour and let me know what I could do to save money and not send so much power back to the grid. I then started to realize some savings. So I called on Mark and they pointed out some flaws in the installation so I could get them fixed. So I called in a support ticket yesterday and someone was suppose to call me right back? I am still waiting for a call. The guys at Freedom Forever also told me that I had to stick with them as it would void the warranty if I went with anyone else. So far I am not impressed that they would handle warranty issues any different then they do a service order. Needless to say I got a solution from Sun Valley Solar and am very happy with their service. It is great to know that there are people out there that still know how to take care of customers. I would stay far away from Freedom Forever as they are shysters' and con men in my opinion and take advantage of people. Therefore I am giving them 1star if I could give a negative star I would. Like I stated Stay far away from these people at Freedom Forever and seek someone who does not mind spending time with you knowing that they were not going to be able to sell me any thing "due to warranty issues" I don't care at this point and believe that if I have any problems with my Solar that Sun Valley will step up and get the job done right the first time.

The Freedom Forever sales rep lied to our faces when we asked him directly about monthly fees. He said that there would be none as long as our panels were producing enough energy to cover our needs. Not true - there’s a not insubstantial fixed monthly fee for the use of the equipment. We asked several times about this and we’re assured over and over that there would be no hidden fees or monthly costs - absolute lies. Then, when we had problems after the panels were installed (3 weeks with no heat in February), Freedom Forever refused to help and said we had to deal with SunRun, who said it was our problem not theirs. The rep also said that maintenance and cleaning the panels is part of the service provided. Another lie. I’m not sure anything he said to us was true. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, anywhere else, than Freedom Forever or SunRun.

If I have the opportunity, I walk away from the solar panels, Do not sign a contract without knowing the product you are buying, most of the time they are not convenient for you, but they will sale it just to have your business, we started the process in July and complete it 6 months after. Paying the loan installments before the panel started working, besides that you never know how actually the panels cost because they never let you know. The sales representative lied to us to get the business and after that disappeared, and we were forced to continue with the contract. If they offer you something get that in writing do not not believe anything you are told verbally because they do not respond. They just care about their profit never about you.

WARNING DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! find anyone else! I have been fighting with them since December of 2019. The reps lie, dont trust anything they say. They word it so you assume the warranty is good. It is NOT! Sent to me today by their escalations specialist at 1:06Pm and it sums everything up perfectly! Article 6- No savings guarantee 6.1 No savings guarantee. freedom forever has not guaranteed, promised or otherwise represented any reduction in electricity costs in relation to the system that will be installed on the property, and further provides no warranty or guaranty with respect to any cost savings from use of the system. My story started like many others, the reps dont work for them they are contracted so hold no liability. Then when you lodge a complaint, they tell you that you have to wait 1 year to see true production. Turns out this is so you lose the ability to have any recourse. I just want it removed from my home and cancel the contract- they of course will not do that. I am now paying $169 a month roughly in electric and another $100 plus a month for the solar that does nothing. You do not save "tokens" from the daytime and it is sent back to the electric company. Most days, my solar is not even running correctly to use for daytime use. When the power goes out from the electric company so does my home. Solar does not keep it running! Please be careful with them. If you choose to do like me and ignore the complaints on yelp or any other source, atleast have a lawyer look over the contract. You will get screwed with this company!
