Buyer BEWARE! Run Fast and don't look back.

BUYER, BEWARE! Don’t just walk away, run as fast as you can. This company is a nightmare to deal with. Check out the BBB complaints https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/temecula/profile/solar-energy-contractors/freedom-forever-llc-1066-850031401/complaints . This company has poor service from the beginning to the end; the door-to-door sales people to the installation personnel. The door-to-door sales people don’t respect, “No Soliciting” signs or when they are told to leave the property as it is a non-soliciting community. They were very disrespectful and arrogant. The company does not respect Architectural Change forms or laws in AZ condo communities. Donnisha Dove, one of their representatives, does not reply to your e-mails, answer your questions, answer phone calls, return calls or respect requirements in condo communities. She replies to the homeowner making it look like the Board is not addressing her e-mails. She has refused to comply with the laws that state there must be an Architectural Change form signed by the Board allowing changes to be made before work begins. They did not respect the requirements that the Board stated on the form and the Board still does not have a form back with the original signature of the condo owner. Their work ethic leaves a whole lot to be desired. They will leave you with a lot of headaches and regret. They left the area very dirty with debris and garbage; mud everywhere. They were required to cover all of the paint marks on the service driveway that were made for the benefit of their company to do the installation. We had freshly sealed asphalt that they left completely marked up. They left all of the paint markings. I spoke with the lead crew member of the project to get problems addressed and he refused to give his name or contact information. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. They even left an advertisement yard sign without permission. That was promptly disposed of.

Awful service and liars

I got these solar panels installed since July 4th 23 and the person that came out(Chad Wilson) told me that I would only have one bill per month, also that I would get tax credits when I file my taxes. I just found out that it's all a damn lie. Not to mention the service hasn't been connected as of yet and it's the end of Nov. And mosaic is expecting me to pay a bill with them and I don't even have their service. I told the agent that I was just coming out of a bad accident and couldn't afford another bill, but if this was going to lower my bills I would be on board. Never in a million yrs would I think that I was getting myself into another bill!! Especially when I asked him all of those questions. Now mosaic is leaving letters on my door for collection when I haven't even used the product. I have asked several times for the panels to be removed and to no avail will they remove them. They all are liars and beware of this company!!!

Complaint

I was over charged for my panels by $7000.00. I was promised a referral fee for referring one of my neighbors and it has been 90 days, but I have not received the $1000 referral fee. I was promised $500 dollars to buy smart thermostats by my sales agent, Blaine Jones. He will not address the issue. I will never refer this company to anyone. They have very bad and hostile employees in their customer service department. Long waits probably due to numerous complaints against this company. They do bad business.

Zero Stars - Avoid this Business

Zero stars.. Avoid this business in a crowded solar energy market. My solar panel installation was to be started and completed on 10/10/23 but the crew was unable to complete it in one day. That didn't seem like a major issue to me but then they lost track of my project and they did not realize it until I reached out to them to find out what was going on. At that point, I was told that it would take multiple weeks for them to return to finish my job because they were busy with other jobs and they didn't want to upset those customers. "Sometimes there is pain in these situations and unfortunately the pain is yours this time." is a direct quote that I was told over the phone. Freedom Forever farms out their sales and construction to contractors so it seems like no one has the ability to motivate the other to complete tasks. Additionally, my Wife came home in the evening on the day of the install and took some pictures of the project because she was excited about seeing the panels on the roof. She was asked by the Crew Leader to not post those pictures to social media or share them with anyone because his crew members were not following proper safety procedures by clipping their harnesses into the anchors that were installed on the roof to keep them safe. I have already paid almost $40k on this project that is not completed and I'm not confident that we'll even pass the inspections that are necessary. Please avoid this business.

Absolutely DISGUSTED with

Will SOMEBODY from FREEDOM Interconnection please get ahold of Eversource concerning the interconnection application. They have nothing within their system and no work orders to move my project closer to PTO. I need a net metering meter to be installed. I'm at my wits end here. I've called Freedom and Eversource multiple times over the last month and NOBODY is helping to solve the problem. I need someone to go the extra mile to get FREEDOM and EVERSOURCE to actually make a connection with joint effort to solve this problem. Eversource has been stating for a month now that they do NOT have an interconnection application within their system. I'm not implying that FREEDOM has not applied. I'm stating there is a problem and the TWO of you must fix it. Neither one of you can allow me to fix the problem. I am unfortunately at the mercy of FREEDOM and EVERSOURCE here. Since FREEDOM is now making my loan payments I would expect you would have more motivation to rectify this situation asap. Please communicate with me as to what is being done and when a solution will be made.

All they are interested is your financing.

Dear friends out the if you are interested in installing a solar system in your house stay away from Freedom Forever because the sales representative will tell you there is no payments till your system is up and running but as soon as you sing the financing with their bank they start charging you and if you complain the bank threatens to report you to the credit bureau. I have been charged for 5 months going to the 6th month and they keep sending the same message unfortunately your system is showing delays and when you call their customer service they ignore you and treat you with disrespect. I have been paying for FPL and Freedom for almost 6 months and today I got a call from someone from freedom telling me that they have to remove all the solar panels installed 4 months ago from the roof to do a roof inspection. signing up with freedom was the dumbest thing I have ever done in my life. all they care about is making you sign the loan, the sales representative does not answer my calls anymore and when I call and ask for a manager I get someone totally unprofessional with lame excuses always blaming Florida Power and Light. My neighbor had his system installed 3 months after mine and is up and running.

Buyer Beware!

It is exactly one year to the day that Freedom Forever installed our solar panels. The installers showed up promptly from Ft. Lauderdale ( we live in Naples). Dining the course of the installation a lightening rod was installed. During which the installers pierced the main water line to the house. The installers called a local emergency plumber that came quickly and fixed the leek. The plumbers bill was approx $1000. When the plumber asked for payment from the Freedom Forever installers they had no way of paying the plumber . At that point we offered to pay for the plumber so that the job could get completed that day and that the installers did not need to come ack from Ft Lauderdale again. We had previously paid FF $40,000 deposit and after the install they wanted payment in full. Which we gave them less the $1000 for the plumber. The system operated for 2 months. During which time FF hounded us for the $1000. We were harassed 7-10 we kept explaining that it was a plumbing bill that they damaged and were liable for. After 2 months FF electronically turned off the whole system. This was approx 5 months ago . We tried many times to resolve the issue ourselves, but failed to draw their attention, until we hired a lawyer for $5000 retainer. After a couple of months FF offered to pay the $1000 plumbers fee. Which is totally unacceptable. Now we have legal fees and also almost 12 months of FPL bills that we should not have had. Now we are going to court. So take our advise and do not deal with this company.. To be continued…. George S. Naples

Botched install and non existent customer service

I bought into the notion of installing solar on my home and my system was installed in April. Since then it has been plagued with issues. Starting with the install, the electrician had never worked on a Leviton panel and when they were done they left my system on prior to the bi-directional meter being installed. Contacted my Freedom rep, who said that was normal. However a month later when PGE was out to install the new meter, he said this was a mistake and would trick there system to look like we consumed more energy than we actually used. Fast forward to the summer when my system should have been banking credits, I started receiving a bill from PGE. And not the promised 13 dollar connection fee. Since then my bills have gotten bigger. I have raised my concerns multiple times over the past months, sent screen shots of my production and PGE statements and still can’t get any resolution. At this rate, I will be paying double for my power when the loan payments come due. And, because they won’t officially recognize there is a problem, I can’t submit my bills for reimbursement. I’ve been told my issue has been escalated but communications is non existent unless I force the issue. I was even given the regional managers email and have yet to hear anything back. Solar sounds like a good idea, plus all the promises of production but so far there has been zero backing that up. At this point I want the panels off my roof and to reset my home back to how it was. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the customer service rep is never available . Additionally they keep trying to close my BBB complaint saying there is nothing wrong. The fact that my system does not bank credits proves otherwise.

Absolutely horrible company in every way possible. My system should have been up and running over a month ago, we have taken 5 days off of work to have our system installed, inspections etc completed. We have been passed around the table of who is next to get our system up and running. Everything is installed and there is no power coming from the breaker box. The same breaker box that they already damaged and had to send out a technician to fix as many of my outlets were not working. No one can keep their story straight, no one can say when someone will be out to fix this, no can give any type of answers other than “it’s another department” that they won’t give a phone number to. We have already been told by one of their reps we have a legal standing and we are now getting legal assistance with this $35k disaster! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

Beware of who you get Solar from

I have had freedom forever Solar for just over a year now, it doesn’t get better over the first year. My system is large at 14.08 KW. This company makes large claims of great customer service 2;/7 monitoring/ performance guarantees and great pricing. Well I paid over 52,000 for the system, the monitoring service didn’t know I lost power three different times until I called them and I have had three power inverters replaced. The service guys said when asked why they keep blowing that it’s because freedom forever uses inverters China and they are cheap. So after the first year of service it came time for the performance review. I was guaranteed. 22,500 or a little more KW hours of power. Well I only produced 18,300 or so. So I submitted the proper forms and waiting three months to hear back from them, and they said, yep you did not make the power we promised, but it was because of equipment failure which means you do not qualify for a reimbursement or anything. They said that because the crappy equipment they installed on my house for over 50,000.00 failed three separate time and only worked for 9 months of that year they don’t have to honor the guarantee they gave me. If you use this company for your solar att please read all the reviews and make a educated decision. I do not feel like I make the right choice and hope that they get better. I will not hold my breath.

A micro-managed mess.

Trying to run a service/construction business through computer portals using different teams is not for this type of business. And if you try with a grew of dingbats, it's impossible. They can't remember what they said, who said it nor why. The screwed me over by forgetting to include the underground conduits to feed my house. Imagine that I wanted to hook up to the system. Can't make this $h_t up! Even after I told them several times, I didn't see the fed conduits in the plans/drawing they just assured me it was all handled. The typical "No problem" we got you covered line was well employed. Luckily, I only lost time and required a couple extra blood pressure pills over the experience. I highly recommend going with a local company and dealing with the same people all the time! These guys are all over the place and nobody seems to have a clue what's going on.

Beware of this solar contractor. They will promise somethings to get your project started but do not come through later on the process. My Solar project started almost 2 years ago and still not COMPLETE. Their Customer Service is horrible. Absolutely the worst I have experienced among the service industry. they simply DO NOT care. Also, the system marked as 6.9KW but they installed only 5KW inverter which means my system can never produce more than that any given time of the day. What makes it worse is that it did not even meet my 100%goal of power generation though they claim it to be 110% atleast the 1st year.

As close as I can tell, Sunrun uses this company as a sub-contractor. Our inverter went bad in Aug. 2023. We were told it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get a replacement. Four to six weeks to get a inverter that I can buy online and have delivered in 4 days. I swear this story is true as it's now the end of Oct. 2023 with no communication and no inverter. If Sunrun wants to use their employees, that's fine but Forever Freedom......well, you be the judge.

Should have known better

These guys are trying to run a construction business like Amazon using a web-based project management system. It doesn't work and by the looks of it, I'm in good company. They have several "teams". Sales, site inspection, design, permitting etc. with nobody talking to one another. I was buying (cash) my system because I didn't fall for the finance or lease garbage that's associated with the majority of the thousands of complaints stacked a mile high at the BBB. I offered to have the underground and interior conduits put in by my contractor, but they insisted they had it all covered. I told them I didn't see the conduits on the plans, and they said not to worry the technicians will have it when they arrive. Meanwhile my contractor had an open trench dropping water and gas pipes in that could of facilitated the solar feed lines to my subpanel. I told them if they were doing it, they should get out there right away and get it done. "Oh, don't worry, we have in covered". Well take a guess what happened. My attorney said I have a clear case and should sue. I'll allow that to remain pending. But if you ever hear this company's name, don't hesitate when turning to run! THIS REVIEW WILL BE REMOVED IF FREEDOM FOREVER HONORS THEIR WORD AND INSTALL THE SYSTEM AS THEY PROMISED.

If they come to your door - tell them to kick rocks

Prior to the panels being installed they were in relatively constant communication. After they get installed, that's when the communication stops. My issues started in March of 2022 after they were installed. I had a go live date of roughly June 2022, that day came and went. I made numerous calls into the support and finally got someone that elaborated on the issue. Turns out the inspectors for the city of Nampa ID wanted to verify the brackets used for the panels which is apparently common. They ended up removing several panels on a Thursday and leaned them up against my house outside my fence, the inspection was on a Monday. I think the worst part about this was that a single guy was doing the removal/reinstall, so he hauled those heavy panels up/down the ladder on his own, not safe. I finally got PTO 8/23/22, their portal tells you someone will call to walk you through powering it on. After a couple days there was no call so I called in, apparently this is not the case, no one will call the customer, the customer must call in. Finally got it activated on 9/26/22, and it was humming along until 10/3 when it just stopped working. I'm glad I was looking at it daily otherwise who knows how long it would have gone without being noticed. Called in when I noticed it, the rep opened a ticket with their monitoring team to investigate. I called in the next day to get an update, apparently the inverter was bad and needed to be replaced but with supply chain issues I was looking at 1-2 months, I requested a tech come out and verify the issue; they said no, not without the inverter in hand. Throughout October and November I called in numerous times to get updates on the status, every time it was the same thing "no update on the replacement, and no we won't send a tech without having the inverter". I requested multiple times to speak to a supervisor/manager, they said someone would call me back in 24-48 hours. I never received a callback. I finally got someone that ended up giving me more info than he probably should have, but he told me the inverter was never ordered because a tech had not come out to verify the issue first. I'll be honest I was dumbfounded at that point but I requested a supervisor and refused to wait their usual 24-48 hours. The call ended up "dropping" so I just gave up on customer service at that point as I didn't want to wait another hour or so to speak to someone. I then posted an update on their Facebook page, while also posting a review to the BBB about my experience so far. Turns out you get a response rather quickly when you do one or both of these things. I was eventually assigned a case owner and we communicated via email and a few calls. As an FYI though they will hide any negative feedback on their Facebook page but this route seems to be the quickest way to get something going. A tech finally came out in late December and verified that the inverter was hooked up incorrectly so it ended up getting fried. It was replaced about a week later and has been producing power ever since. I was advised I would get reimbursed for my loss of service, but we'll see how that goes as it's a power generation guarantee and based on their quoted yearly MWh production. I was guaranteed to produce 10 MWh per year, I'm currently at 9.48 MWh lifetime. This has to be initiated by you and is a 12 month rolling window from when you start producing power. This of course requires the customer to call in or maybe an email to support to initiate this and apparently can be done yearly. Lastly I will say when it works it works, you just have to deal with a lot of BS along the way, and if you have any issues and need to call into support be prepared for a long tedious battle.

Incompetent Project Management

This has been an awful experience. I was enthusiastic at first and even recommended Freedom Forever to others, but I would not wish my experience on an enemy. The story below is long. The TL/DR is that Freedom Forever dropped the ball for 3 months and counting during the hottest months of the year, when I need solar power the most. My installation began on May 22. It failed the city inspection on June 8 a label was missing. That was corrected and it passed inspection on June 14. I thought that was good news. Unfortunately, someone in Freedom Forever left the ticket open and it stopped all progress on my project. I emailed a photo of my unit with the city's approved sticker on July 5. I received an email back promising action. It never happened. I followed up again on August 24. That's when I learned that about the open ticket. What was the open ticket for? They needed a photo of my unit showing it had the required labels! I told the rep about the previous photos, but he said they needed to send someone from the Schaumburg office and promised it would be done within 72 hours and promised to call me the next day. The photo was not taken and I received no call. So I called again the next day and spoke to another rep. They told me they could see the note about coming out, but the ticket was still open. There was nothing they could do. Finally one of the reps reached out to the electrician by chat. She did not get a reply immediately, but promised to call me back the next day she was scheduled to work (4 days later). That call never came. On Sep 12 I took my own photos (again), emailed them. I called three times that day to ensure that these pics would close the ticket. During my last call I finally asked for a supervisor. He told me that PTO requests take week and he would call me back on Sep 19. He called back today and told me he meant 7-10 days, so we are still on time. (Yep, on time three months late.) The root cause of this problem is that their management software is inflexible. Once a ticket is in place, it puts a hold on everything and the customer cannot do anything to move the process along. The only people that I can to talk to are in customer service. A contributing cause is that custormer service has no power to actually do anything. They cannot close a ticket or compel action by other departments. They can only send a note or chat, but those did not lead to action, at least in my case. I have contacted customer service nine time since August 24. I was promised a call back six times but only received my first call today and during that call he just changed the timeframe he had given me a week before. It leaves me with the feeling that the customer service department exists to run interference for the rest of the company. The contract has a "guaranteed completion date" when the unit would be ready for testing, but the way Freedom Forever regards that clause, it is almost meaningless. Freedom Forever says it means that the unit will be physically ready for testing. However, the utility will not perform the testing until Freedom Forever submits the paperwork. As far as I am concerned, my unit is not "ready for testing" because they have not applied for PTO.

They tried to take the money and RUN

I had a sales rep call and speak to me on the phone and I agreed to a quote. During the quote process they also recommended getting pre-approved for the solar financing so that if we decided to move forward, it would be ready...made enough sense at the time. I applied for what the sales rep told me was a pre-approval on a solar loan through a third party company. We decided not to move forward with the project and let our sales rep know right away. Turns out it the loan paperwork was not for a pre-approval, and the sales rep had the bank move forward with the loan and disperse all of the funds to Freedom Forever. I now have a full solar loan showing on my credit report and I have zero solar panels on my house. I called the customer service team and they said that this happens really often because the sales reps just push loans forward and then disappear "all the time", they filed a ticket and that I "should" see the loan close out within 90 days. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone for any reason ever.

Company is a joke

Sales guy was great and then it all went down hill. I will start by saying we chose this company bc they offered a zero percent and zero payments for a yr financing plan. Seemed like a good way to pay off interest or have a break from the high fpl bills. We were under the impression from the great sales guy that this was a quick process where they handled hoa, permits, etcetera(not true). Put the panels on in April. We had minor issues with scheduling but no big. Had no idea why they were so rushed to get them on but we wanted to move quickly so we were all for it. Found out later it was so we would be contracted and stuck through all their chaos. It’s now September and we still don’t have solar turned on. We have had to get involved with the permitting because they didn’t read the responses and just kept going back and forth for a month. Had to get involved in the hoa. We call wait for an hour and still get all different answers and excuses. Also our sales guy stopped answering calls, texts, and emails. We were told he left the company. Once we needed to do something, he appeared. So long story short the company is very unprofessional and difficult to work with.

A Mess/Rip Off

We purchased our house with the panels already installed. The remaining balance on the loan was over $40K. We needed a new roof installed and this was part of the purchase agreement. The previous owner contacted Freedom Forever to do the R&R. They did the removal and neatly stacked the panels in a pretty good spot but just left all the conduit all over our yard and there are clips we are still finding randomly all over our yard. Well, they did not secure the panels and a wind storm knocked the first few panels over and we reported this through their ticketing email. When it came to re-install the panels they would not come do this until the R&R was paid in full. Mind you, this money is in an escrow account and cannot be released until the contractor completes the work. We went round and round for months with Megan Nielsen at Freedom Forever. She was very impolite and naive in the matter. Somehow after contacting every Freedom Forever c-level and legal member I could find on LinkedIn, they were scheduled to come out to re-install them after 3 months.
