Celestial Solar had just started working with batteries and I think my home was the first where they upgraded an existing solar panel system. I used two 5KW batteries from Enphase. They added and wired a new subpanel and were really helpful in making sure I had the circuits I needed. The installers did excellent work, everything was laid out neatly in spite of the space being a bit tight. They made sure the system was configured correctly before finishing the work. Communication was quick when I had questions. I am very happy with the final system and it meets my needs.

We contacted Celestial Solar from a referral in June/July timeframe. Jim Reilly, the owner of the company, worked with us on the design and pricing during our due diligence stage. Jim was very professional and courteous. He told us that they were backed up and it would be around Oct./Nov for installation and activation. He set our expectations and his team delivered it slightly ahead of schedule. The team did a excellent job of installation, working with the county inspector and Pepco on approval and activation. I was so impressed with Jim that I even referred his company to a close friend/relative even before the actual installation.

I'm very happy with the installation and the overall process. They were very communicative and kept me in the loop at each step of the process. The actual install only took a day and we were up and running a couple weeks after that once everything was approved. Very pleased with everything.

We had a great experience with Celestial Solar, they truly lived up to all the reviews we’d read beforehand. To give you an idea of the quality of service: a few months after installation, we had a partial outage. It turned out to have nothing to do with our panels or the new fuse box, but celestial sent out an someone to check it out the very next day at no charge to us. We haven’t paid a cent for electricity since June and our SRECs have been steadily coming in. Celestial did an amazing job, we wholeheartedly recommend them.

I’m very happy I chose Celestial Solar Innovations for my home solar installation. From the first sales visit to activation, everything went smoothly. Jim was responsive to all my questions, and the REC panels were ideal for my roof’s orientation and shading. Since installation, my electricity usage from Baltimore Gas has been zero, and I’ve banked over 2,200 kWh in credits. The installers were professional, accommodated my equipment location requests, and consulted me when changes were needed. I’ve even started receiving SREC income. As an engineer who works with air conditioning installation contractors, I tend to nitpick every detail, and this installation exceeded my expectations. After reviewing many installers and panel options, I highly recommend Celestial Solar Innovations and REC panels.

Went to the MD Home Show, talked for a few minutes to a rep. Arranged a sales call at home. Boy did I get the hard sell. That company misstated warranty facts, offered extensive discounts of I did things for them, and insisted on signing a contract that day or discounts would be lost. Took advantage of recession law and backed out after a day of reflection. Now finally I researched companies, and called Celestial. It was clear Jim knew everything cold, had clear answers to all questions, explained options, recommended against a couple of thoughts I had that would have earned him a bunch more money, and gave me a straight price that matched the other company, without all that company’s BS. The whole experience was transparent, professional, and entirely comfortable. All the paperwork was completed by the experts, all the T’s crossed, and our system is up and running, and looking great. I should have done more research, but having spent time with one of the worst companies in the business, I am pleased to report that I went with the highest quality company for our system. Select. From the initial information to the preparatory work, actual installation and follow-ups, they were thorough and extremely professional. We worked with Celestial solar (CS) following a recommendation from a neighbor. From the beginning CS, was transparent, provide helpful suggestions, was not pushy, and educated us on the best solutions. They provided drawings and sketches and were available to answer any questions all the way through the final step when they turned the system on.

We had Celestial Solar complete the installation of our solar unit at the end of May 2025. The whole team did an amazing job from start to finish - design, county approvals, utility company, SRECS, installation, monitoring system, and even helped me with a state grant program. Jim (owner) was always available and the whole team was super helpful and communicative. We had ZERO issues - so smooth. Our system was designed for 100% offset and we have out produced usage every day since install. The panels look great. We couldn't be happier with our choice. I received over ten different estimates from the leading solar companies and not only was Celestial competitive with the most competitive prices, but offered higher quality materials and completes all the work in house. Highly recommend.

Working with Jim and Celestial Solar was everything I was looking for in a solar company. I wanted someone local who would be responsive to my questions and who had a crew of experienced employees not subcontractors. Jim made scheduling the install, inspections, and SREC set up as easy for me as possible. I could not be happier.

We met with Jim Reilly, of Celestial Solar Solutions in the fall of 2024, when we were getting bids for a solar installation. Jim impressed us right off the bat with his years of experience, clear presentation, and professional manner. After we agreed to go with Celestial Solar Solutions, Jim began the process of getting the permits we needed to install solar panels on our house over the winter of 2025. He. was very open to my suggestions for modifying his initial design and we went back-and-forth a few times before we got what in my view was the optimal design, with maximum coverage on our south-facing roof planes. Celestial Solar Solutions offers a winter installation discount. However, because the winter was harsher than expected, the installation was delayed until April, yet the company still honored the winter discount. Once the permits were approved and the weather warmed up, Jim’s employees began the installation process from finalizing the exact layout of the panels on the roof to assessing the capacity of our fuse box and electrical connections. On the day of the installation, about eight installers and electricians arrived and got the job done before the day’s end. The crew was efficient, neat, and professional. Several weeks later, our system was up and running. In late spring, Jim also alerted us to the Maryland energy administration’s solar access program. We applied and were awarded a rebate of over $5000; that’s in addition to the federal solar rebate we are already getting. Our entire experience with Celestial Solar Solutions has been top-notch. We highly recommend the company to anyone considering a solar installation.

Consistent with the experience of other reviewers, I found Jim Reilly and his team to be great to work with, and that they work hard to earn the positive reviews. Jim responded to my request for information within a day, spoke at length about my options and pros/cons of each option. They managed all the paperwork, completed the installation as scheduled, and the system is working great. They were also very competitive from a price perspective, especially given the quality of the products they install and the service from a small company. Highly recommend Celestial Solar, if you are looking for an team with the expertise and service mindset.

TL;DR: Celestial is a great and easy company to work with. A+. All their quotes for cost and schedule have been accurate, they have kept on top of the bureaucracy to get my system running, and they have been super responsive to any inquiries. Can't go wrong with them. Celestial Solar Innovations has been a real pleasure to work with! I got several quotes back in summer 2024. Jim's quote came in the middle, and with their professionalism and certifications, it felt the best fit. Not only that, Celestial was the only company actively following up with me on a regular basis. My only regret has been not agreeing sooner! Jim et al have been super easy to work with and communication with the crew been extremely timely. At the time of deposit, Jim gave me the expected timeframe for installation (a few months out). From there, the only real work I had to do was create access into the attic space for an inspection of my roof rafters. Unfortunately these needed to be sistered up but the quote I received from their roofing partner was very reasonable, was able to be rolled into my solar loan, and actually fixed a minor leak. Celestial kept me in the loop about dates and necessary work, as well as provided detailed information. Installation quickly followed. Now for the long tooth: Anne Arundel County inspection. Celestial informed me several days out of the scheduled inspections. AA County has been brutal--nitpicking every little thing even though everything has met code. They forced me to have a new panel installed and heavy up my service to 200 A. Celestial and their team/partners were able to provide this all at a very reasonable price according to the research I have done. And the rat's nest of wires in my panel has been organized. Next, Celestial orchestrated a dance between BGE and AA Co. to inspect the panel, get the net meter installed, and get my permission to operate. It took a month, but I finally got my PTO. At that time, Jim sent me all of the sites and portals I needed to sign up for and login into, including Enphase and SRECTrade. I also got a copy of all the paperwork and receipt for the 30% tax rebate. All the along the way, Jim, Margie, or Gary have called or emailed me to let me know what was happening. BGE's subcontractor did drop the ball on the heavy up, but Celestial was able to push that through. I have been following up on the smaller details here and there and I am still getting the prompt responses I have throughout the entire process. Mark of true pros--their customer service has been unbeatable. Jim just followed up with me a month after operating to check on my SRECs. And 2 months after installation and 1 month after PTO, I am still dealing with AA County inspectors and Celestial is still handling it all. Can't go wrong with them!!

Jim and his team are amazing. We decided to install solar panels on our townhouse last fall. I shopped around with various companies in the area. My decision to choose Celestial Solar was easy. Jim was able to maximize the size of our array given the small amount of roof space we had available. I had done a fair amount of research before reaching out and it became clear the first time I spoke to Jim he knew everything there was to know (something I can’t say about some of his competitors). Once we had finalized the plan, and signed the contract, Jim got to work pulling permits and ordering the components. When installation day came, his crew was incredibly polite and efficient getting the entire system installed in less than half a day. Their installation was incredibly clean with as much of the system out of sight as possible. The city came and did the final inspection and she appeared very pleased with the quality of the work Jim’s crew did. We have been live for about a month and have seen significant generation and were looking forward to the spring and summer with more sunny days. I highly recommend Jim and Celestial Solar.

We were first referred to Celestial Solar Innovations by a neighbor who had a system installed 7+ years ago and spoke very highly of them. After meeting with Jim for the first time, we understood why. Celestial Solar’s excellent customer service starts the moment you interact with the company, and it is evident that Jim’s personal commitment and vision as a business-owner permeates throughout this entire team. Jim briefly informed us of his story to his eventual founding of Celestial Solar and why, at this time, he only focuses on providing the best service to his customers in Maryland. He presented a detailed qualifications package, and a proposal based on previously requested information that contained all the pertinent information needed for us to make an informed decision. He patiently answered our many questions and provided expert feedback. As the discussion turned to acquisition of an EV, Jim adjusted the proposal to account for all downstream impacts related to future production and consumption including upgrades needed to the electric panel for EV charging. Upon execution of the proposal and agreements, Jim and his team provided high level communication regarding the final survey/design and were very responsive to any questions we had along the way. While it is nice for a plan to go off without a hitch, Jim and the Celestial team showed that they continue to shine when “hitches” do arise outside of their control (e.g. delays related to permitting and timing of the final inspection). Celestial does what it takes to be there on your behalf every step of the way. It is a great feeling when they tell you to “turn on your system” and that feeling continues as they provide all the documentation needed to complete your MEA grant application and SREC facilitation. The Enphase Enlighten phone app is also superb and you will always know how your system is operating at a moment’s notice. We decided to solar energy panels to our house after the county decided that they needed to cut dow the 40+ year old tree that was shading our house. We solicited proposals from several highly recommended companies and selected Celestial Solar based on quality and price. We are convinced that we made the right choice. The owner, Jim Reilly, impressed us as knowledgable, savvy and down to earth. Once we decided to go with Celestial Solar, Jim and his crew could not have been nicer and more efficient. They kept us informed during every step in the process. We had a tight timeframe to get our installation in before the end of the year, not knowing exactly when the county would remove our tree so the work could start. Jim stayed in contact with us and moved quickly to do the installation once the tree was removed. The installation went smoothly and quickly. We were impressed with the skill of Jim's crew. We easily passed county inspection, and threw the switch on the winter solstice after Pepco installed the two-way meter. Celestial Solar should be on your list of installers if you are thinking about a solar panel array.

We felt it was important to find a local solar energy company in the area and interviewed several companies. We submitted an online inquiry on Celestial’s website and Jim(owner) responded shortly thereafter, even on a Saturday. We found Jim to be very knowledgeable, straightforward and honest. He didn’t try to sell us things that we didn’t need like some other companies did (critter guard or extended monitoring). Celestial offers REC panels with Enphase microinverters, both of which are leading brands in the industry. Additional questions after the initial meeting were quickly answered. Celestial took care of all the permitting and applications necessary. Our system has three arrays, Celestial ran conduit inside the attic to connect the solar arrays so there would not be an ugly conduit visible on the roof. The installers even moved a vent pipe on the roof so that the panels would be continuous and aesthetically pleasing. Driving around and seeing other solar installations makes you appreciate the clean install that Celestial provided. We had a minor issue with the consumption monitor which Jim addressed immediately. A few weeks later Jim followed up for any questions or issues. A sign of a good company is one that does the job right, a great company provides customer service after the sale. Celestial did an outstanding job and is setting the standard on how a solar energy company should operate!

Overall great experience. I was referred from a neighbor, who is also very happy. They were competitive on price, were upfront/transparent with numbers, communication was always solid, even after installation. There were a couple of small issues, but nothing to complain about. They forgot to take final photos before they left, so I snapped a couple of shots for them. If that's the worst of it, I'd use them again. So far so good on the system. Jim (owner) is a good guy and his wife put together a package of things to file for all of the rebates that made it easy for me. I wish the app didn't charge me extra to see my energy consumption as well as what I'm making.

Their entire team was proficient and easy to work with. Celestial uninstalled and reinstalled solar panels that were originally put in by another solar company so we could repair our damaged roof. They were very flexible with scheduling with the other companies involved, especially with considerations of project points that needed to be completed before the next steps could proceed. "Plays well with others" and "proficient and efficient" are accurate descriptions of Celestial.

Jim and the team from Celestial were great — I knew very little about solar and they talked me through the process, explained the cost & payback, talked me through my questions about the equiptment, and helped design an ideal system for my house. Installation was quick and efficient and before I knew it I was generating electricity! Jim was there throughout the process to answer questions and help. He was engaged and I felt like he really cared about getting a good outcome.

Support - at every stage of the project - from initial scoping to installation to follow-up - Jim and Celestial have provided excellent support. I’ve had to do extraordinarily little, and whenever I have any questions they answer them quickly and comprehensively. Once again, I cannot recommend Celestial Solar highly enough. We want to make a huge shout out of thanks to Jim Reilly and his team at Celestial Solar. Jim's analysis of our home's solar potential was thorough and his proposal was sensitive to our budget. He is a respectful, knowledgeable, and low key salesman who relies on good products, clear analysis and economic facts, unlike the 3 other salespeople that gave us quotes. He handled all the paperwork with the county, Pepco, the state, and the SREC broker. He kept us informed about the project progress through all of its stages. His installation team was professional, efficient, and cleaned up nicely after the work was completed. Our new Panasonic 400w panels are more than twice as productive as the panels we had installed on our previous home in 2009. Now that the panels are activated, we can sit back and generate our own electricity, knowing that we are not pulling from an increasingly stressed grid. The best part by far is getting our Pepco bill... $8.71 for May and $0.71 for June! Overproduction will go towards credits on our bill for less sunny months. We can't recommend Jim Reilly and Celestial Solar highly enough!

The staff measuring the roof, the crew installing the panels, and the members of the crew doing the needed electrical work, were all—like Jim --- professional, knowledgeable, easy to work with, trustworthy and courteous. Jim was also helpful with navigating the needed paperwork for warranties, the state rebate (for Maryland), the federal tax credit, and SRECS (solar renewable energy credits). When we initially looked at getting solar panels we decided to research multiple companies. Over several weeks we looked into about 8 different companies ranging from smaller local companies to large national companies. We met with 5 of these companies and Celestial Solar Innovations was the final meeting. From our first meeting, it became very clear that Jim was the best fit for our needs. He was able to answer all of our questions and clearly explain the process and timeline. A key selling point was his explanation of the equipment he would be using as well as why he felt that it was the best. We had already done extensive research into the solar array business but we were still able to learn something new by talking to Jim. Jim also being local and very familiar with the permitting and inspection process was another reason we decided to move forward with him. We had multiple questions throughout the process and Jim took the time to provide thorough explanations. The entire process from the initial meeting to receiving Permission to Operate took just over 3 months. Throughout the whole process, we were constantly in communication with Jim receiving updates on the status of the job. The paperwork process was painless and relatively simple. The installation crew was able to complete the installation in 2 days. There were a few minor issues that popped up in the process but Jim was always available to remedy the situation. Once the job was completed Becky was able to assist us in providing paperwork for tax filings, MEA grant, warranty, and rebates along with providing information to set up our monitoring app and SREC account. Overall we were very pleased with Celestial Solar Innovations and would highly recommend them to anyone interested in investing in a solar array.

Jim and Celestial Solar were great to work with. I had numerous questions that Jim answered quickly and efficiently as well as providing supporting documentation for most of my questions. He was much more responsive than other vendors I got quotes from and provided the pros and cons of some of the items I was looking at. Helping me to make an informed decision on items even if it impacted the final order. We ended up putting a rather large installation of 71 panels on our roof which took a while to get approval through the county and the utility, but Jim kept me informed through the process. Once the installation was approved the crew came out and got everything installed in about a week. I appreciated that the guys showed up on time, they were all very friendly and considerate of my property. The system has been live for about 2 months now and so far, I have not had any issues. I would highly recommend them.

This is actually the first review I have ever posted for a company and am doing so because of how impressed I was with Jim and his Celestial team throughout the whole process of going solar. Before I committed to going solar, I did a lot of research before I even talked with and requested quotes from 4 separate companies (2 national and 2 local). Jim was by far the most upfront and honest and his recommendations and suggestions were consistent with the research I had previously done on the current technology, pricing, estimated production, etc. He ended up working multiple designs for me to maximize my production while not wasting money and panels on roof locations that would not generate efficiently. His costs were substantially lower and the panel and microinverter selections were state of the art compared to the proposals the other companies were trying to convince me to go with. As impressed as was with Jim during the sales and design phase, I was equally impressed with the Celestial install team. They were timely, friendly, competent, and professional. They were approachable and responsive when I asked questions or discussed options when they were installing panels and doing the electrical work. I was happy that they actually reached out to me when there were last minute routing decisions to make sure I was happy with the final result. After the install was completed, I noticed there were a couple of panels that had small but annoying visual imperfections that were right next to my front entry way (which I saw every time I went in and out of my house). I sent Jim pictures of them and he immediately offered to swap them out for new ones, no charge. Finally, I was also impressed with the support Jim provided post install with the multiple county/BGE inspections. I decided to set up my own GATS and SREC exchange accounts so I did not take Celestial up on their offer to handle all this themselves. In summary, I am so happy I have gone solar and that I went with Jim and Celestial. I would highly recommend them.

Jim and Celestial Solar team were great to work with. They were responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and did great work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Celestial Solar did a great job with my solar installation. Jim was helpful in my free consultation, answering all my questions and providing a couple great options for my array configuration.
