Never Answer Calls
This company ive found out isnt officially closed supposedly but their address location is a AC business now. They never Answer calls. Never finish the jobs theyre supposed to do bc that requires answering the phone too much 4 scheduling. Regardless of warranty coverage or not for 30k solar system. Terrible company. How do we get help for our warranty coverage? If problem gets resolved in a reasonable time Ill delete & update. Otherwise where do I sign 4 compensation for this fraudulent business stealing time & money from their customers?

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
HAVING ISSUES WITH THE INVERTER FOR A MONTH NOW AND HAVE HAD NO LUCK WITH NO ONE RETURNING MY CALLS AFTER SERVERAL ATTEMPTS AND CAN'T GET A TECHNICIAN SCHEDULED TO COME HAVE A LOOK. KEEP GETTING SAME EXCUSE FROM CAM SOLAR THAT THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER TECHNICIANS. I GUESS CAM SOLAR FORGETS ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMER THE SELL IS MADE.

Scammed
Salesman Abraham Paredes lied about company having a monitoring center. If a panel went down, I wouldn't even know and they'll be onsite replacing it in no time because they had a warehouse in Edinburg. Company now says they don't and that I'm responsible for checking my own system. Parts can take a very long time to arrive. Abraham assured me system was fully covered and warranted for 25 years. If anything happened, they would cover it for free, since my warranty was for 25 years. Company now wants to charge $159 per hour to see why my system is not working, a system that is barely 2 years old.

Bad pick for Texans and Veterans
I got solar panels with Cams Solar in about 2018 and so far the service has been awful. Be aware when their product stops working they don't notify you. An don't call!!! They wont pick up and they will not return your calls. One question I asked when buying these panels in South Texas was will you take care of the panels in the warranty if they need to be removed due to roof damage? Will you do this at no cost? "Sure absolutely we will" they say. Well guess what, we got hail damage and need the panels removed. So I call and I call and I call no response finally I send three different emails and received a short email saying if you want you panels removed it will be $8000. So I call and I call and I call. Finally I get Daniel Moyer who has got to be a man in the wrong career field as he speaks to customers as if he is doing them a favor by returning their call. Then when I advise him that I was advised of something different when I purchased it he said "sorry I cant talk to what they told you". Why not, its your company, who is it that can speak to it? This is ridiculous. I would urge you to go with a Texas Company but Cams Solar is a fly by night company that once you close with them they disappear and when you catch them finally they are incredible rude.

GET YOU TO SIGN... THEN FORGET ABOUT YOU
When they get you to sign ...make all kinds of promises. All lies, then do not keep on schedule and then do terrible work, and afterward will not respond. I have spent 4 months trying to get them to respond. I have major issues with my system. I have made numerous attempts to contact you, via normal channels (Karl -5123482862, who advised that he would have you or Brian Cullen call me..NO ONE HAS CALLED ME! ). Abraham Parades does not respond either. I have a solar panel that is missing, I have two panels that are not working , one panel that came loose with the because it was not secured properly, leftover hardware under the panels, and numerous wires hanging touching my roof, from the use of plastic zip ties that have broken from the extreme heat. I have contacted Goodleap ( sent them pictures and screenshots and showed them the roof plan ( and pictures of the roof where there is a panel missing.) I am going to cease payments, and will hire a contractor to remove your system and return it to your San Antonio facility by the end of next month (April) I have documented, taken pictures, and screenshots of all the issues. I was advised to contact you one last time and give you five business days to respond, before proceeding. I have sent a certified letter, to your San Antonio office. Please respond within 5 business days, April 1st .2022, should you continue to ignore these last correspondences, I shall move forward with this process to include litigation. It saddens me that it has come to this

CAM Solar, where are you.
Contracted in the first quarter of 21. Contract called for 28 panels and 2 Tesla Power Walls. After the site survey I was told the roof needed to be replaced. Roof was replaced in late April. Ask and was reassured several times about the availability of Power walls. Rumbling on the web was they were months if not years behind on delivery. In June they finally told me the Power walls were going to be an issue and that they had several clients still waiting from 2020 installs. Amended the contract for different Battery. In July they also alluded that the County was a big stumbling block. Contacted the area Commissioner to ask if there was a problem. No problem there as far as the County was concerned , CAM just has to make them happy for the permit. So they are pointing at each other, however, the county has a good paper trail. During this entire time Communication from CAM was/is almost nonexistent. My inquiries were for the most part ignored. But they did, occasionally, send out a canned "Hey, we're almost there" email with no further information. I asked numerous times for additional and more informational updates but got nothing. In late August the original loan was set to time out for lack of action, nothing drawn from the funds available. They took it upon their selves to request an extension. No communication with me the guy paying the bill. Granted an extension until the end of Oct. And here we are the end of October. Your only allowed 1 extension. No communication from CAM, No panels on the roof, No Batteries in the garage, No permit with the County. The only thig they have apparently accomplished is the Approval from IREA. Research the hell out of 4 companies including CAM. Their Salesman offered the most information and went out of his way to explain the process to me. Not pushy or insistent like the others. Although he was not straight with me on the Tesla availability. Thought they were the best choice. Guess I was wrong.

Customer service and work quality have taken a huge dive.
I paid CAM three years ago to install my solar panels. They did a great job. I ordered Power Walls from them last fall. Tesla's production problems aside (that is a theme for another rating) the company has almost completely collapsed. They became incapable of properly communicating what was going on. They send SPAM texts and emails that provide no information. When you call the number to ask what it means, the phone hangs up after one ring. When you try to access the website the message refers to, it is non-existent. They show up with no notice and then workers are surprised you are surprised. They do not return calls. They installed my power walls, left a huge mess for me to clean up, then returned two week later to, "turn them on". The workers almost damaged my electrical panel until I told them what they were doing it wrong and had to stop them before they broke the panel insert. They finally listened to me and got the new breakers installed. They had to rearrange the panel to install the Power Wall breakers and made such a mess of the panel listing, I really have no idea what is where in it now. I am surprised it actually passed inspection. I tried a number of times to work with an owner to resolve it. He was pleasant and apologetic on the phone, but nothing happened to actually resolve the problem(s). The employees are well-mannered just sloppy and do not know what they are doing. Too bad, I really liked these guys the first time out. I am tired of hearing from businesses they suck at their job because they can't find good workers. Does that mean I get to pay less? Probably not.

Horrible response time
Apparently the sale is over once system is installed, we had 25.46 kWp system installed on our property atop a Mueller Barn we had specially put up for the panels, it’s not like we went over to Lowe’s to buy a dishwasher but rather to the tune of a little over $94k not including the Mueller building. I have reached out to both owners and the SolarEdge rep for the last three months to let them know my system was not working properly and hasn’t for the last 3 months but keep getting the runaround that the replacement inverter has been ordered and will be taken care as soon as it come in, it shouldn’t take three months to fix a problem and it shouldn’t take the customer to have to call it to their attention before Cam Solar/ SolarEdge start working on the problem, now the panels themselves work great when producing so it’s the actual response time for remedying problem that I give these guys 1 star and if it were allowed not even but rather maybe a half star. I will end by saying the sale only begins when all documents are signed and monies are exchanged Cam Solar/SolarEdge, take care of the customers you have and your companies will prosper, neglect your existing customers well all it takes is one bad review for the next new customer to say well it’s an awful lot of money so let me think about it and you will never hear from them again, it starts and ends with customer service.

Excellent company
Little bumpy at first here in Colorado due to the amount of homes going solar and the snowy weather we had. Cam Solar cam through with flying colors. System is purring like a lion. Last months bill was 89% lower than the same month last year. Fantastic

The process started out great and I even recommended them to my father in law. It has now been close to 18 months and they still haven’t finished my job!?!? I’m not sure they know what their doing when it comes to the Tesla wall pack. I keep reaching out and I keep getting the runaround.

The system design process included input from the customer. Customer service throughout the entire process was great, installation was fast and efficient. The price was significantly lower that three other companies' quotes. Would recommend to anybody looking to install a solar system.

Horrible Experience
They have taken very long to finish the work. They didn't install the system properly causing issues with the breakers that ended up damaging two of our dryers and refuse to reimburse because we didn’t notify before we purchased a new one. Mind they don’t answer their phones. Greg acted vey rude when he called me after weeks. Kevin ignored any message that had to do with them messing up their work. It’s been horrible so far, I would cancel immediately if I could. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Excellent experience working with CAM Solar
Wow...what a trip! CAM Solar is simply fantastic. I researched solar back in the spring and compared several quotes, impulsively looking at dozens of reviews and settled on them because of the sales process and overall cost. Bodi, my sales rep was amazing...he always kept in touch throughout the process and fixed a few snags on the way. Their pricing was fair, accurate and the loan company they referred has been easy to deal with. I JUST got my solar working today after a lengthy delay with Xcel, my HOA etc. Still, they always kept me up to date on what to expect. One final note, because of these delays, they sent me a check for the first month payment on my solar loan as promised! Nothing is more frustrating for a client than paying for a system that wasn't yet generating power, but followed though on the promise to make it right. I can't recommend CAM Solar high enough...10 STARS! Thank you to CAM Solar for being honest, professional, communicative and providing a quality product from start to finish! 8 months to install, little communication
Communication was extremely poor. My project was delayed because of issues with the utility itself, not CAM Solar, but I was left wondering status for months on end (I began my project in July 2019, installed April 2020). Project managers switched often; I even had to provide the drawings and documents to a new one who didn't have them turned over to him when my project got continually moved.

Painless process
I had been thinking about getting a solar system for years, and CAM Solar help to explain the cost, the tax deduction, and the process to get everything installed. Communication was very strong for the first half of the process, and while it did slack a little bit, they always answered my emails/calls whenever I wanted an update. My system is up and going, and even with the monthly loan cost, I'm saving loads on my monthly expense, especially this summer. Thank you for getting the work done!

It was a pleasure to work with CAM Solar and Kevin Krieger in particular to help select the best solar system for me. I did a lot of research and spoke with a lot of different companies, comparing price and service. I chose CAM solar because they were very competitive pricewise and I felt comfortable that the information I was receiving answered all my questions and concerns. Everything went smoothly as far as installation and everyone I spoke to that was in anyway connected with CAM solar was delightful to work with. I immediately started saving a fortune and it motivated me to take a look at all of my other energy use. One month ,my total electric bill was a credit of $14.65! I highly recommend a solar system to any homeowner. I waited for my roof to need replacement and now I regret that. I wish I had replaced my roof and added the solar system a number of years ago. Great Experience!
I started with a different company, but after discovering that their system was too small and grossly overpriced, I looked for alternatives and paid to exit the contract. CAM Solar worked with me to design an appropriately sized system using the same components at a price that was only 60% of the original company! Installation was prompt after the city issued the permit. Installation was convenient and not intrusive. Highly recommended!

It got done
I posted this 6 months ago on different site, they were bugging me fire a review on this site, so.... The actual crew that installed my panels were decent hard working guys, but they seemed to be inefficient which I suspect is a byproduct of the company as a whole. They took an extremely long time to process permits and get on site to do the work (>45 days and yes some of that time is local permitting process). I never received any communications from them directly and my project manager had a very difficult time getting answers from them. I've had to panels installed now for 50 days, but only able to produce power for about 16 days (because they didn't pass inspections 3 times) and I still don't have access to the online viewing of my system (because I'm apparently not a priority now that they've completed installation) I posted this 2 months ago, called the owner as requested and they appeared to care. They said they would work on my system and get things working the way it should be and that's all that happened. I'd love to say they improved my rating but they dropped the ball again with lack of follow up. Cam has my info and they should call me and find out if I'm happy, not the other way around Approximately 20 weeks after the install date and I have my system fully integrated with my cell phone / internet and am able to monitor it. I really like the final product, however, the slow timing and the lack of communications from Cam's HQ is frustrating. Hopefully, reviews like this will kick them in the pants and get them to provide true customer service, because I believe they have a good company that does good work, but something is disconnected within it.

We love our solar!
The rep. that came and presented the package to us did a great job, without pressuring us into buying. We had several companies come out, so we could compare prices and services, and decided to go with CAM Solar. We have saved over $100.00 per month on our electric bill almost every month since then. We're didn't purchase a battery, or we would have saved even more. The company responded to each and every concern or question that we had quickly, and they solved each of them with haste. The only thing we're had a problem with was the financing. The interest was ridiculous, so we refinanced our home to pay for it, but I wouldn't say that was the fault of CAM Solar.

I think the solar panels work great, saving is about 70-75%.
The panels are great but the issue I'm having is that pigeons have made themself a home under the panels. The panels are raised to high above the roof and pigeon crawl right underneath and build bests. They poop all over the roof and yard that had to hired someone bird proof my panel and it wasn't cheap.

office personal were great, on site personal and job not so good
This would have been a 2 star rating if had not been for the great help and support I received from the Denver office. The onsite work was not done very professionally. I contribute this to either poor engineering or inexperience of the installers. Wood will not hold up to the harsh environment in which I live. The equipment was mounted on steel pedestal and a steel sided building using unpainted wood. From my 40+ years of experience of installing, engineering and maintaining equipment in the outdoors, Unistrut or similar material should have been used to mount the equipment on metal structures. The installers did not enable all the control equipment when it was installed so it did not work properly so the Denver office had to send someone else out to fix the problem. This extended the time it took before I could use the solar equipment. All the things that was said they could do before starting the project and then was not done did not improve my attitude towards the installation crews of this project. The 4 stars were only given because of the Denver office staffs help they gave me to get the project completed.

Installers didn’t do a good job
The installers installed the panels too close to my top story so they get shaded during the morning to late morning hour. I complained to the company about it and they said that I would meet my guarantee output so they wouldn’t correct it. There was plenty of room to install the panels lower. I spent a lot of money and expected it to be done right. The company didn’t meet my expectations.

Too long of a process
Took way to long for install (about 6 months) and only one month was during pandemic shut down. Had a hard time getting a hold of people in charge, one employee would say one thing and other employees would not know anything about that. Did not feel the compensation for extra install time (cost of electric payed) was adequate. Still waiting to have damage to home repaired.

One Year Later
It has been 13 months since our system has been installed and for the most part we are satisfied. Our original review after installation once red lack of follow up support from the office. You would call, be told someone will be in touch and then never hear anything. Cam told us us they were going to hire more people since they were short staffed. We have no idea if they did since we have not had to call. My biggest complaint is the referral system. We were told that we would receive a cash incentive for any new referral. Well we did. Our first review expressed our displeasure.Rep from CAM Contacted us and said they would get right on it. NEVER heard a word or saw a dime. When we called we were told once again they would look into it. Still nothing!!! Finally, Solar Edge is used to monitor system and it is average at best. We can’t tell what I am putting on the grid..can only ballpark it. I actually get more info when we review our monthly electric bill. We admit it is sweet only having to pay our grid access fee. As for CAM, great when they want your business, average at best post install and terrible at returning calls and keeping word. Glad we didn’t hold our breath on referral bonus!

Great customer service before and after installation
CAMSolar has more than met our expectations from start to finish. They provided all the information we needed to make a decision, and were very accommodating when we wanted customize a few things. The installation crew was polite, professional, and clean. They arrived when promised and respected our property. We had our roof replaced earlier in the year, so we’d recently had experience with work crews on our property. Over the years, we have worked with various trades on improving our home - carpenters, tile, plumbers, electricians, painters and at one point we hired a general contract for a large project. The crew from CAMSolar has been the best we’ve worked with - of any trade. It has been several months since our installation and we are very pleased with the way our system is working. We produce enough power to offset what we use, and feel good about our decision both financially and from an environmental standpoint. We live in an area with poor cellular reception, and our system was originally configured to use cellular data to communicate the production of our panels. At first that was working well. But then, CAMSolar noticed that data wasn’t downloading, and before I could call to report it, they had called me to arrange a time to come get the communication back on line. Things are working great now, and we appreciate their attention to detail and customer service.

I like that their panels are made in the US
I wanted panels made in the US & not in Korea. Last summer the sun as SO hot, I decided to use it rather than fossil fuel for electricity. The windmill people have been pushing wind at HEB & I told them i was waiting for panels. Now i have them & my monthly utility bill is half what it was last summer.

Overall I was very pleased
CAM Solar offered us one of the best prices, quality (modern high efficiency panels, metal not plastic conduits) and a reasonable contract. Their installation design maximized energy generation for our complex roof design and local obstructions. Their installers were courteous, competent and efficient. I noted one mistake in the installation which caused a panel to come loose, but they quickly corrected it once informed. Homeowners should be aware that the whole process may take much longer than expected. From our first interviews of companies to activation of our system took 8 months, a big part of that due to time required by our local government reviews and inspections, and for our utility (Xcel Energy) activation of our system. Overall we were very pleased with CAM Solar and would highly recomment them.
