Was very satisfied with the installation. Price was very competitive and Boston solar worked with me on panel layout and my request to have conduits rune in attic so not exposed on roof. One of the main reasons that I went with Boston Solar was due to positive feedback that I read online compared to others that I was ready to go forward with. In short they did everything they promised and according to the schedule they laid out and I am happy not to have electric bills to pay for many years. Also, the installation was done very neatly all in one day.

Outstanding Service

John, the rep from Boston Solar, streamlined the entire process for us. He answered any and all questions I had, and provided direct contact info in case any questions came up or issues arose during the paperwork process. My wife was not estatic about the idea of putting panels on the roof, as many in our area have that stainless steel cross hatching. Boston Solar supplied full black panels, that are much more pleasant esthetically. All in all, I would recommend Boston Solar to anyone looking to go solar. Beyond the excellent customer service, their warranty and the manufacturer warranty is quite possibly the best you can get! Thank you Boston Solar for setting us up!

Good Experience Overall

There were a few hiccups, but overall I am pleased with the end result. John Sacco as a salesman and Stefan Rosellini in customer service have been awesome. Don't think there won't be some issues in the process. It's about how they fix them

Outstanding work and customer service

Boston Solar installed a 8.5kW ground based system at my home in Boxford, MA in Oct. 2016. Going solar is a significant investment so while the economics made sense from the very first meeting, I needed to take the time to ensure I was understanding everything properly and to really weigh the pros and cons. This is a process that took weeks and my representative, Todd M., patiently answered all of my questions/concerns. I never felt pressured to make a decision I wasn't ready to make. Once the decision was made and the contract was signed they provided the necessary support to secure the financing through Mass Save. When that was done, Boston Solar took care of everything else. Everyone involved in the installation were very friendly and professional to deal with and always communicated what was being done and when. Any time I had a question or concern throughout the process, someone was quick to respond. I really could not be any happier with how the whole process went. It was a pleasure to work with the team at Boston Solar because they all seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. I would highly recommend Boston Solar.

Great Solar Experience

We first met with a solar consultant on 11/5/16 because he was referred to us from a friend. He came back with his proposal on 11/12/16. We accepted and signed the proposal. The paperwork trail began. Then on 1/19/17 our 30 panel system was installed. We needed inspections and a new meter installed by National Grid, but By 2/6/17 our system was up an running. Awesome group of people to work with and very organized. Highly recommend taking a look at Boston Solar if you are thinking of going SOLAR.

Unexpected benefits

Besides the giant tax credits, SRECs, decreased overhead, and other financial benefits, having solar put on our house has caused some unforeseen seasonal benefits: In the summer, our attic-floor rooms are markably cooler. I guess that makes perfect sense, energy that was being used to make those rooms into roasting ovens in the past was now being collected as solar energy. Because of the solar panel, it is actually comfortable enough to take a nap in August. In the winter, the solar panels have rid our house of ice-damn. Even in the harshest blizzard, the snow, sleet, and slush just slides right off. When the rest of the neighbors have three feet of snow on their roofs, ours is clean. Before we had the solar panels installed we had terrible problems with ice accumulation. That issue has been effectively erased by the solar panels.

Great Company to Work With

I had looked into solar a few years ago and was not impressed. Companies approached us and spoke of no cost solar for what amounted to a 10% discount off of the current rates. My neighbor was a little more motivated and looked into purchasing the panels outright. When I looked at the math it seemed to make more sense. He purchased his panels through Boston Solar. The following Spring Boston Solar announced a "Solarize" program where in concert with The Massachusetts Clean Energy Council they would offer a town wide discount program. I attended the meetings and liked what I heard. Tom C came out and answered a TON of questions and put together a great proposal that was cash flow positive immediately and would pay for itself in less than 5 years. After completing the paperwork and establishing an install date I ended up being hospitalized and had to reschedule the installation. Boston Solar responed immediately and worked with me to establish a new install date that kept our project on schedule. Their onsite team was nothing short of terrific. They were sensitive to my specific requests and completed our 28 panel installation in a single day We were generating electricity less than 30 days later (after inspections and approvals). This was a complex process and the entire Boston Solar Team was patient with my questions and always exceeded my expectations. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

My Solar Experience

Although Boston Solar came highly recommended by a coworker of mine that had the installation by Boston Solar in Burlington, Massachusetts in 2015 I was not too impressed. The salesperson was cordial and communication between us was great the problem was after the sale. The crew that came to do the installation was rude, they walk in my house like they own it and in one instance use my microwave and went in to my refrigerator without permission, they left trash, debris and some of the solar connectors scattered around the yard and the front of the garages. I spoke to BS management and they told me they wold take are of it but in my opinion they was not taken seriously for the price I paid! After the panels were installed I noticed they put the pipes in the front making the installation look unpleasant to the eyes and aesthetically wrong. They finally came and change the pipe after many attempts. Communication for the installation, town inspector, final inspection and rework where nor as good and professional as I expected. My advise to Boston Solar, when you grow don't sacrifice quality in the process, I expected you to be a PREMIER installer because of the recommendation ans the price$$.

Commercial installation on Auto Dealership

Quick, neat and efficient installation on my rooftop(formerly wasted space. Completely ZEROS out or usage portion of electric bill for about 8 months a year and substantially lowers the other 4 month.

Great experience

I had 33 solar panels installed in October 2015. WE were pleased with the attention to detail during the installation and the site visits leading up to the install. There were no surprises and everything went according to our plan. Once the panels went operational Boston Solar continued to monitor our production and I receive an email from them anytime the online reporting sites may go offline. Boston Solar continues to answer my concerns, questions and communicates with me as needed. I fell that Boston Solar is a partner in this endeavor and that I entered a professional relationship with them.

Best installers in the business!

Full disclosure, I am also a Boston Solar employee. I could not be happier with my install. It was great to get the Boston Solar experience from my customers' perspective. The office moved things along very quickly and kept me in the loop the whole way. The install crew was phenomenal and the panels look amazing.

Excellent Solar Panel Installer

Boston Solar installed a 26.8 KW ground system for me in August 2015. They were professional in every way - Sales, Installation, Service and always answered my phone calls and questions. I have recommended Boston Solar to several people. Boston Solar is definitely a five star rated company!

I Highly Recommend Boston Solar - Did Lots of Research

I had been researching solar panels for 2 years and I finally decided to go with Boston Solar and I am so happy I did. The bottom line is I want to save money. I have had 2 utility bills since they were fired up. My first bill was down $249 from last year and my next one was down $294. I have also already earned 5 SRECS since the turn on date of 5/21/16. This amounts to about $1350 (based on around $270 per SREC). I opted to own the panels so I would get the SRECs and get the 30% federal tax credit. I have 34 panels. Everybody was top notch at Boston Solar. Ray the sales guy was extremely knowledgeable unlike the other companies I had dealt with who never mentioned the benefits of ownership over leasing. I can't remember names, but the crew who installed were great and neat as a pin. I found one shiny bolt under a pile of weeds when I was planting a month later and that was it. The guy who showed me how to turn them on and monitor them was great and many thanks to the top notch electrician who removed a dead mouse for me from my attic stairs. He quickly got the town inspector to approve the jobs and the paper work back to the utility company so i could turn them on. I highly recommend Boston Solar.

Efficient sales process and great follow up!

The Boston Solar company has been great from start to finish. Michael answered about a million questions from me without ever seeming to be annoyed or bothered at all. Once I made up my mind ti was a painless process to get signed up, setup with Sungage financial, and scheduled. Overall the process was great. We did have a minor hiccup with installation issues, however they made it right and sent their crew over on Saturday to get it done right. And they did. I can easily say " You should definitely go with The Boston Solar Company!"

GREAT EXPERIANCE

I looked at 5 different companies and Boston Solar was by far the best. Some companies tried the hard sell tactic, some would just not take no as an answer, and one would just not leave my house (almost 6 hours of sales pitch on 2 different occasions) but Boston Solar was totally different. From my first call to get information to the installation it was always about making me happy, including the cheapest price quote by thousands of $. My sales rep, Mike was always ready to answer any questions I had, the design team worked to optimized my sun exposure on my roof and the installation crew was very professional and did a top notch install. My wife likes that we are now "green" while I like saving money by no longer having an electric bill and best of all the system is paying for itself! My only regret is that I waited so long to contact Boston Solar.

Great experience working with Boston Solar

Very happy with the installation of a 6.48 kW solar array that Boston Solar put in. All of the staff at Boston Solar were professional and super nice. The sales experience was one of the best I've ever had. Josh was extremely helpful and answered all of the questions we had. He gave us space to make our own decision, never felt pressured at all. The installation process was pretty straightforward, I was always told what was going on and what the next steps were. They always called me to let me know what was going on. The system looks great on the roof and I'm very happy with what they did conduit. System commissioning was super straightforward and I had a working array in no time! Highly recommended!

Job Metrics: Crew rating Overall (0-10): The crew was GREAT!!! 10+. I would like to let Crew One; Eduardo, Raul, Dave, & Larry that I want to Thank them once again for doing a GREAT JOB. A special thanks to Dave for helping me cut-out a small section of 2 vinyl post I was working on (replacing my back stairs) with his special power tool for cutting material that my saw would have made a jagged and messy edge. Crew Clean-Up: The crew did a fairly good job cleaning up, however they did miss some minor stuff (a couple of small lengths of aluminum rail & some job related debris and I also found 2 roofing nails on the driveway, which could have caused a flat tire, so a final check would have found the debris, but I had no problem with it. Crew on Time: The crew was early Wednesday, and on-time Thursday. Crew walkthrough (did they go over install process): The crew did go over the install and explained everything they were going to do and how they planned to do it and they were very responsive to the questions I had. Notes/Comments: First of all I would like to thank Chris Buchanan, who my wife & I first met at the Willie Nelson concert in August, at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, he was manning the Boston Solar booth. At the time, my wife & I were considering leasing Solar panels from my nephew who works for a competitor (only leases solar panels) of Boston Solar. My wife saw the Polaris electric bicycle that was being raffled-off and we struck up a conversation with Chris regarding buying Solar Panels verse leasing them and we both filled out the raffle for the bike. Chris got me interested in buying Solar Panels verse leasing them, so I started researching the benefits of buying them verse leasing them and who was the best Company to buy the system from. I came across Energy Sage during my research and they set me up with 4 Solar Companies to get quotes from. We did interviews with 3 of the Companies, including Boston Solar. Josh Baker came to our home and explained everything about buying verse leasing solar panels and had graphics which detailed the cost benefits of buying Solar over the long run verse leasing them, which included the projected savings over a 20 year period. He also explained that Boston Solar used the most efficient Solar Panels on the market and I liked the fact that they were made in the USA. Although Boston Solar was the highest quote, my research indicated it was most cost efficient over the long-term (20+ years) to buy the best quality Solar Panels on the market with the highest energy efficiency (21% verse 14-15%). All the work that the Crew did was excellent and was done in a very professional manner. I was concerned about the pitch of my roof (around 45 degrees) and the safety of the Crew that worked on the roof which is about 20 feet up to the gutters and about 35 or more feet to the peak of the roof. They used harnesses which made me feel better, but I was still nervous for them, thankfully they are professionals and know exactly what they are doing. You could not pay me enough money to go on that roof. The Crew completed their work in 2 days including mounting the brackets on the roof and mounting the panels onto the brackets. The electricians mounted the electrical panels on the outside of the house and the electrical wiring up to the gutter level and through the roof where they mounted the receptacle for plugging in the solar panels. Everything was neatly done. As part of the changeover to solar power, it was determined that we would need to change-out and increase the breaker capacity of our 100 AMP electrical panel because the current panel was maxed-out (additional $1,500 and with the 30% Federal tax credit, the actual cost to us was $1,050). We inquired about upgrading our capacity to a 200 AMP panel and were told it would be an additional $1,000 and with the 30% Federal tax credit, the actual cost to us was $700, which was a no-brainer. Rob & PJ did an excellent job and replaced the panel with all new circuit breakers and new exterior wiring (including new grounding wire) and connections up to the main feed line from National Grid. All the breakers were re-labeled as they were before the change-over and all the work was done in a neat manner. They did a great job cleaning up after the change-out was completed. We also had Boston Solar install blown-in insulation to the remaining half of our house that was not insulated several weeks prior to having the solar panels installed. We did this through the Mass-Save Program, which pays up to $2,000 toward insulating your home (our house total cost for the insulation was around $3,200, of which $1,200 was our out-of-pocket cost). Once again the Boston Solar Crew did an excellent job. As it turned out they did not have to insulate as much of the house as they thought, because Mass-Save mistakenly included a part of the house that was already insulated. I was basically given a credit of about $625 so my out-of-pocket cost was about $575. They could of just kept the cost the same as the original quote and I would never have known the difference. I really appreciated the Boston Solar crews honesty, they saved me about $625. Overall I highly recommend Boston Solar for whatever work needs to be done. Still Happy after 11 Months

Boston Solar installed our solar system almost a year ago. Installers were professional but very friendly. If I remember correctly there were 3 liceinced electrician on site plus 3 other guys. Work was completed with a very clean look. I had all components installed on the outside of the house. So it is a lot of stuff out there, but it looks ok. I had one problem which the online monitor system pick up. They sent someone out right away and all was squared away promptly. No problems since. Very happy with the system they installed.

Excellent Solar Panel Install Experience

We had a great experience last June with Boston Solar Company. The workers were on time for the both the pre-install inspection, and the actual install. They were all very polite and courteous, and they put a lot of thought into the electrical box / panel placements and running the wire conduit. The workers on site were very patient in answering my many questions, and completed the install in a single day. I felt the care and workmanship was like they were working on their own house.
