If you're not paying electricity you still have to pay sunrun for the system! I think the rate for the system could be less but hey!

Installation

They had problems with the installation: failed city inspection once (improper grounding) and system failed to function at first (pinched wire). All problems were finally fixed and it seems to be working properly now, but it two months longer than originally expected. Their new app does not install on my Samsung Note 8 Android phone.

Great Service!

Service was excellent. Everyone involved explained the process clearly and answered all the questions I had. Excited to have my solar panels up and running now!

Sunrun delivered a great solar power design and installation.

I was interested in solar power, but I was holding off owing to the challenge of designing the system and choosing among dozens of vendors. A Sunrun rep happened to knock on my door, and we started to chat. It sounded good, so we set a follow-up meeting. Soon we were off and running. Sunrun did a site analysis, performed all the engineering design (including Tesla Powerwalls), computed the bill-of-materials, and installed the system. A few hitches arose, such as the need for a bigger main service box. No problem, Sunrun added that at no cost to me. Soon the system was up and running, and I am able to track its performance on the Tesla app. Throughout the process, Sunrun was responsive and competent. Fo me, Sunrun was the right choice.

Amazing to fizzle

Sunrun has an amazing sales team, installation team and it ends there. Once our panels were installed and I had questions about my monthly bills that where the customer service fizzled out. The amazing people that I spoke to in the beginning no longer existed. I received email responses like oh you need to reach out to your power company. It’s not us. I wanted to know exactly how I would see a difference in how much I would pay for Power versus now solar. I was sold on oh your bill will be almost nothing. Almost nothing is not true in the summer months. I am waiting to see what the fall and winter months bring. I feel horrible that I encouraged a family member to work with the company and I’m praying that they don’t have issues like I have. I ended up calling my power company, and they were definitely more helpful, which was very surprising.

Exceptional product and service

Sunrun has excellent product. From beginning to end the team was exceptional and professional. We couldn’t be more happy with the end product and savings.

They came and installed the panels just like they said they would and everything works fine. I’ve dropped my Electric bill from $105 to $52.

Sunrun is the best! The sales reps took lots of time with us answering our questions and followed up with us every step of the way. Great support from the other staff as well. Now we’re generating our own power and saving money on our PG & E bill as well. Great company!!

First Tesla Powerwall 3 installation in MA

The team worked hard to get past all the issues with the power company and the state to get my system installed. It was delayed 7 months due to a moritorium on installation of batteries with the solar panels. I was the pilot for the first installation of batteries in over a year.

Have had system since May 2024. Excellent experience with Sunrun. Everything as promised.

Service was good . But they had committed yo give me first installment free. But I never got it. They also charged more for my roof than what they had quoted. We have to be careful !

They installed the panels with in a week but it has been two months and they can’t get pg&e to go and connect to the meter if I had the choice to do it again I would go with sun nova

Quick installation and go live!

Sunrun was fantastic when we decided to install solar. They worked with us to get the best plan and ensure we were going to maximize the sunlight by helping us get trees cut down that were blocking the roof. Installation was only one day and our system was up and running within a few weeks! I would recommend them if you are looking to install solar.

Did not know what to expect

The process was long but totally worth it. The project managers and all the technicians kept me apprised of all the steps and procedures. They are a great company to work with and I am happy to provide this unbiased review.

Customer service after installation

my experience with Sunrun initially stride it is very good. I was quite impressed with the follow-through by the customer service representatives calling, and keeping me informed every step of the way. However, once the panels were installed, the customer service representatives seem to have disappeared. I have text I have called and I have emailed and none of those forms of communication have been responded to. Apparently my system went out was not communicating with my mobile monitoring device and, I wasn’t even told why the malfunction happened or anything. Just not impressed with the follow up customer service.

Sunrun is the only one you need

My sales person, Jake Gaetz, was super friendly and great at answering all our questions. The installation team were professionals and did a beautiful job. We are very excited about our new system and especially the fact that it came with battery backup!

Sunrun was a very good solar contractor. They were safe and seemed easy to get along with. The only complaint it was a bit of a challenge to get them to repair our tile roof. They did finally complete the repairs before the rains came.

Total care with total responsibility

From start to finish, it was an easy process. They pulled the permits and kept in contact with me about the installation process. Engineers, contractors, and everyone in between were ridiculously polite and professional. There was a few communication hiccups on their side, but nothing that affected me personally. We got 3 quotes to make sure we made the right choice. With the longevity of the company and the customer service, you’d be ignorant to not use Sunrun.

Incompetent liars

I was treated respectfully with loads of attention until the moment I handed over a check for $27K. From that moment on, I was treated like something on the bottom of your shoe. They missed appointments, communicated poorly and then botched the initial installation so that power was shut off to half my house. When I called they told me it would be two weeks to come back. I went to Costco and spoke to a manager there and he made calls to get someone back to my house. The day PGE was due to make final inspection, they called me at 7am because they realized there was still something awry. Got that fixed and system finally came online. Recently the inverter failed and for four months no power was made. I looked at the app and it said there was a”possible issue” they were actively monitoring, but that’s another lie. Took weeks to get someone out and another month for a return visit with the right part. Get call from Megan at SunRun to tell me how she’s going to advocate for me and tells me they will pay me for ungenerated power cording to my contract. But after the inverter installed she denies ever saying that to me. I don’t understand how Costco continues to associate themselves with this company of liars and incompetence.

Fraudulent Sunrun

Sunrun is a deceitful company. Unfortunately I was a Vivint Solar Customer who was ok at first. Then Sunrun comes to the door saying "We've bought all the Vivant contracts, because they're out of the Solar business. Yes, Jared (he's the 1st shielder, prep you for the other 2) , Steve, the area manager and Bridgette the so-call project manager, all with the same deceitful message. I'm thinking all is Good. Making $225 payments faithfully. This month I get a past due owing $186. Mind you, I get the payment info with acct # and address. Come to find out, I now have TWO DAMN SOLAR ACCTS charging me. Yes TWO!! and a PG&E bill. No mention by the Deceitful 3's I will have TWO DAMN SOLAR BILLS to pay on now along with PG&E. Yes, my electric bill has more than doubled. At NO TIME was I told I will have two systems. I was told they would be tied together so we would have Solar power and Storage and my bill would be $175 per month. Since Aug 2 to now, I've paid $1K and behind another $186. They led us to believe we would have one Solar bill. Gave a whole comparison chart between them and PG&E over the course of 24 years. Nothing about 2 systems being operated separately. Only saying they'll taping them together. What a way to mislead customers. Tell them you're adding storage and panels to the existing system making them 1 system. Total Fraud and a deceitful tactics. I'm so screwed in trying to keep up with a almost triple in electrical billing. I was better off screwed by PG&E with their 5 times FCC approved rate hikes. At least I knew it was one system they were ripping me off with. Now here is Sunrun doing tactics to screw Americans too. If you haveva Vivant Solar contract owned by Sunrun, RUNNING, LOVK YOUR DOORS and don't let the cute salesman into your home. It's a SCAM OF ALL SCAM!!!!! I wish I stuck to my 1st inclination when Jared came onto my property. Please don't let them get you GOT!!!!

Remove panels

I signed a contract with Vivint 4 years ago. Now my insurance company says I need a new roof . Sunrun wants to charge me $7000.00 to remove the panels. I think this is outrageous. My contract states there is a fee to remove and replace panels . But they don't tell you it's going to cost that much. I've never saved anything going solar. They tell me I can't get out of my contract. Save yourself a lot of money and Don't go with Sun Run
