So Far, So Good

First, allow me to note that a lot of the negative reviews are about the time it takes to get your solar panel system connected to the grid so that it is generating power to the grid. Sun Run has no control over how long it takes your local utility company to allow your system to connect to the grid to generate power to the grid. In our case, it took the utility company, Dominion Energy Virginia, over six weeks to connect our solar panel system to the grid. Our system was installed and ready to operate by the fourth week of April, but Dominion did not connect it to the grid until the middle of June. A Dominion rep told me that the excessive delay was due to the huge numbers of new solar panel systems being installed in the state. Sun Run had no control over that. Anyway, so far, we have had a good experience with Sun Run. Our Sun Run rep has been great, every attentive, and very responsive. The installation team that Sun Run used did a good job and even came back twice to make sure the system was installed properly when they detected some minor issues. They came back and resolved the few minor issues in a very short time, and our system is working very well. Also, I have had no problems getting ahold of Sun Run's customer service department. When I decided to pay for my system all at once instead of using financing, I had to call customer service to change my payment contract, and I had no problem reaching them, and they quickly switched my payment option. Finally, I should add that the actual price of my solar panel system will only be $23K after the federal solar-energy tax rebate.

SunRun solar panel installation was fine

My experience with SunRun Inc. has been simply superb: from the initial sales process (Keegan Fisher) answering all my questions and explaining the cost, after sales support for achieving all permits on time (Taau Lesa) as well as the solar panel installation and logistic (Rose castillo, Ryan, Steve) on the scheduled day and fine tuning after sales support. All SunRun personal involved (see their names above) on my case were very helpful both in person, over the phone or by email, explaining everything clearly to me. Thanks you for been a so efficient company.

The process was easy! My account manager Mackenzie was awesome and kept me updated throughout answering all my questions until I was comfortable. The install was great and they made sure everything was working properly. They came back a few days later because one of the panels was registering properly, found the problem and fixed it quickly. I have had the panels for a year and am so happy! Especially since rates have gone up twice since then!

Sunrun delivered!

Good experience with Sunrun, punctual, good installation and customer service. Couldn't be happier. We are now a net zero home and generate the power we use and then some.

Installing solar with Sunrun was a great experience. Everything was explained properly and they were extremely competent with the work that was completed. I also haven’t received a utility bill from EVERSOURCE since the system was turned on! Overall a great experience and very please with Sunrun!

Very happy with our system overall. Don't know it's there until the utility bill comes and it is so much less than the years before we had the Sunrun experience.

Great Company, Great Service

I self-installed panels with the help of a friend and an electrician back in 2004. It was a 2.6k watt system. Fast-forward to 2022 (18 years later). The panels I installed were getting EOL so we wanted a new system. My wife met our sales person who was working with another client in our neighborhood. He explained everything in great detail, before, during and after the sale. The installers were great, fast and did a really clean job. Can't say enough good things about SunRun. Super professional, nicest people to work with. They navigated all the permitting with the county. Love watching the juice meter run backwards from around 9AM to about 6 PM every day (summer power generation).

Absolutely Perfect!

My Sunrun solar system was installed and Activated October 2021 and by February my centric bill was virtual eliminated year round and has been ever since. I am on Xcel.

Awesome experience with sunrun. Explained the process thoroughly, communicated clearly on timelines and expectations. Got installed in October 2022 and haven’t received a bill since January 2023. Install took a few hours and got my system turned on within a few weeks. Very happy with my decision to go with this company.

Ariana it’s a fantastic person to work with. She answered all the questions I had. We’ve been working for over 2 years now. Once they install the panels she stopped by just to make sure we were happy. Would highly recommend her.

Made it easy

Solar was something we had been wanting to do but always heard terrible things about how you lease the system and have to sell that lease when you sell your house. It all sounded like a headache, so we didn't pursue it. SunRun came knocking on our door and they explained that it's not done that way anymore and the process is much better. They spent about an hour with us, telling us about the company, explaining the process, answering our questions. We felt good about it but wanted to do some research. I enquired through Tesla in the meantime and found their customer care system to be terrible. SunRun checked out for us and when they reached back out a few days later we moved forward. They were in constant contact with me throughout the entire process. It's a big coordinated effort with SunRun, the city and various contracted workers to bring it all together, but we got our system turned on and we are running! All in, it took about 7 months, but it's really something that happens without needing much of your attention or presence. On top of that, the financing for the system was even easier. SunRun was a one stop shop for solar and financing and I'm glad we went with them.

Eight years with Sunrun

My Sunrun rooftop solar system was installed in 2015. The system had functioned perfectly, other than when I had to replace my roof due to hail damage, and when my inverter failed. Both times Sunrun handled the issue promptly, and very much too my satisfaction. Recently I make an inquiry about Battery backup for my system. Sunrun representative Dean Vagamus came out and explained the options very clearly, and helped me with upcoming Xcell Energy changes. It was an informative and helpful visit. I highly recommend Sunrun for anyone interested in Solar, which should be all of us!

Best solar company in Central Illinois

Best solar company in Central Illinois, and basically the only one that offers solar as a service so I didn’t have to take out a $50k loan and add to my debt. For anyone that doesn’t know about solar as a service, it’s when you get the benefits of lower costs solar energy without all the liability of the huge purchase costs. You don’t have to monkey around hoping to get your government incentives, or increase homeowners insurance or monitor to make sure your system is functioning correctly. They do all that for you! It’s the shiz. I’ve seen a lot bad reviews on this website, but Sunrun has like 4.5 stars + on reviews on ever other review website out there, not sure what’s up with this website, but I don’t think it’s real. This website also doesn’t allow me to pick Illinois as the State where I got my panels and Sunrun has been in Illinois for like 5 years and is one of the biggest solar companies in the country. Might be time someone updated this website

Solar So Easy!

From start to finish the process was amazingly simple with absolutely no surprises! Phil Davis the sales consultant went above and beyond to explain all the options and craft a plan that best fit our need and overall objectives. No pressure - no stupid gimmicks - everything spelled out in black and white. The install team came as scheduled and did an amazing job - communicated everything beforehand and made sure any outstanding questions / concerns were addressed before work began. Couldn’t be happier with our new system and the very affordable price tag. Thanks Sunrun!

Great results

Excellent customer service. Alex and Gonzalo were very professional, and guided me every step of the process.They provided all the information I needed, for a smooth transaction. I have not paid an electronic bill since the panels were installed. I am very pleased with the results. Highly recommend Sunrun solar panels.

Seamless experience

Sunrun did everything they said. Installation (including roof and trees) went withour a hitch. Thanks Mandy. The sales process was painless and clear thanks to Gulsum. Final inspection by my town was slow but it got done thanks to Mike. We had an open electrical permit (unknown to us after 22 years in the house) and Mike corrected the flaw and got us improved.
