We had a great experience with our salesman. Very helpful with all the information. He was able to explain the process and followed through with the install. The project management and the install team was coordinated as planned with ease.

Removal and Reinstallation with Remi

When we signed, Sunrun handled their own removal and reinstallation and it was a flat fee of $500 and $100 a panel; now they are outsourcing to a partner called Remi, which charges double what Sunrun used to charge ($5k for our panels!). They also try to pitch you on other services, such as roof repairs, and the sales team won't leave you alone. I'm extremely disappointed with Sunrun, our overall agreement, and how it compares to what's available on the market. If you go with your own contractor for removal and reinstallation they charge you a $500 inspection fee and you take a risk at the inspector just invalidating your warranty. What a racket! Beware Sunrun!

A good idea

I met with a sales representative because I was very hesitant to the idea of Solar Power. He explained it to me and changed my mind and decided to give it a try. My bills during the winter months were close to $1000 per month for a single family home in Yonkers and during the summer they were $700-800. So I am anxiously awaiting for the solar panels to be connected so I can ‘go green to get green’

SunRun Big Island Review

I live in Hilo and my experience with SunRun so far has been excellent. They do everything to get your solar up and running. From obtaining permits, communication with Helco, they do it all. I decided on the same flat rate monthly price for 25 years. They will take care of repairs, replacing equipment etc for my $240 monthly fee. My package includes the 17 panels and 2 Tesla batteries. The installation team was top notch!!

RUN away from this company

We are SunRun customers for 9 years. We would give 0 stars if possible. This company is horrible. We had a leak that was "repaired" it was a disgrace. To recap the entire experience as briefly as possible, had a leak under the panels, found the leak due to water damage on a bedroom ceiling, this was in late 2024. SunRun inspected, sent sub-contractors out to repair the roof, which included replacing plywood that had obvious water damage. The sub-contractor removed the shingles and replace the shingles. We notified SunRun that the plywood was not replaced, they resent sub-contractors to replace the plywood and re-shingle. We sent a drone up for pictures, work was pathetic, a child could have done a better job. We realized that the roof was now 30 years old, these panels were installed on a 21 year old roof, that they inspected and approved. Also was told that it would be their responsibility to re-roof during the term of the contract (20 year lease), they outright LIED about this. Through this process, we found that the warranty is only for 10 years! BE AWARE!!!!! Read the contract! Long story short, we asked them to remove the remaining 18 panels so that we could put a new roof on our house, at our cost and they refused to do this for free. Honestly, we could have asked them to re-roof the side of the house that holds the solar panels since, we are still within our 10-year warranty. BUT, we don't want anything to do with their sub-contractors as we have seen the horrible job that they did to repair our leak. UNBELIEVABLE! They now have a VERY disgruntled customer that will tell everyone they know and anyone they meet not to use SUN RUN! Horrible experience! So much more to this but, please protect yourself and stay away from SUN RUN

Jaw dropping

There are many reasons why I’m taking time to communicate my SunRun experience. I am one of the homeowners that had purchased solar in the past from the companies with agendas to take advantage the customer for money and time without delivering. Richard McCarty, your availability, reaction time, exceptional professional and friendly communication skills bundled with honesty. It was very hard for me to trust anyone in the solar industry. Your message sounded too good to be true. He said SunRun is investing in the future and you backed up promises with facts and examples. He won my trust and he walked through all the steps necessary before delivery. YES, I felt as if I had won the lottery when all the details promised were actually delivered way above my expectations. All SunRun inspectors were very professional, on time and knowledgeable. Stephen my install expert is always available and followed up on all my requests. The true icing on the cake was the dreaded installation day. No, this wasn’t one of those normal stressful installations. It was truly an unbelievable show of experience, knowledge and work ethic by Logan, Braden and crew. I experience an “over the top” display of respect, timeliness, professionalism and expertise. They made sure the installation area was kept safe and clean for the homeowner. Their effortless communication skills explained every detail. They understand to genuinely stop, explain and confirm that my question was answered, very, very rare to find. I will definitely sell SunRun knowing that Logan and Braden will deliver and compliment Richard and Stephen’s roll. It would be hard to list all the exceptional interactions with Logan and Braden. Logan, I appreciated your commitment to this project you deserve a raise. Braden, is unbelievable, a Wow. Sir, your patience, accuracy and attention to detail was a show to experience. Yes, a raise to you. Everyone involved raised the bar for service and can enjoy the fact that I feel you are the epitome for all SunRuns quality standards. If you ever thought of getting solar but unsure call SunRun. They are not like all other solar companies. Thank you!

Sunrun has been great to do business with.Every thing has been professional, the installation was detailed and very clean. Alan our sales representative was great! He explained the process very well, and answered our questions we had. Ann, the customer experience pro was helpful facilitating with the install of the solar. We are waiting for the city inspection before it switches to the solar, but we are super excited for when it does. I would recommend Sunrun to anyone who is considering solar. I've had solar installed on my house for 5 years and it's been working great! Thiago Barros originally signed us up and was super honest and upfront about everything. Recently we installed a pool and hot tub and we're getting bills again from eversource so we called Thiago to add more panels. Thiago has always been super responsive and Sunrun has been great for us as well! Highly recommend.

Overcharge for Removal and Reinstallation of Solar Panels

I was getting a new roof, so I needed to have the solar panels removed and then later reinstalled. During this process, I received a quote from my insurance company. Well, when I received the final bill from Sunrun, it included a charge of $750 for a city permit fee. But the thing is, there was no permit fee charge through the city! When I reached out to Sunrun asking why I was charged the $750, the answer I received was that it was their usual permit fee amount. WHAT!?! I couldn’t understand why they didn’t check with the city first, or at least check with my insurance company to see whether or not there would be a charge. Needless to say, it took over four months to get the matter resolved and for Sunrun to reimburse me the $750. The reason I’m posting this is to forewarn others.
