We have had a lovely relationship with our SunRun representative, Wyatt. He is pleasant, has a very likable personality and he has answered every question and done everything he possibly could to make us happy since the day we met him, including checking in with us every step of the way.

Day of installation there were three different trades here each doing what they had to do which made the installation of the panels go well the job took two days because of rain which normally would have taken one day

Do not hire this company

They are total liars from the salesperson on up. I started this project in February with sun run and it’s been totally disappointing. I would have rated them with less than one star if possible, but they don’t give you that option. They lie to you every step of the way everyone else is at blame for their delay in completing our project other than themselves. Take it from me go with another company.

My overall experience with SunRun has been completely satisfactory. They have kept me informed on all stages of the installation and inspection. I would recommend them to anyone who is considering a solar installation.

Underperformance and never ending system issues

I've had Sunrun for about 6 years and I would never recommend anyone getting it. If I could have them removed I would. Tried to do the right thing and help the environment and now I'm stuck with these panels that have not been running right since they were installed. Technicians come out to my property and never really fix the problem. Constantly calling them and nothing ever gets fixed. They do send people out but the system has not been running right since it was installed. Stay away from this company.

From the beginning,this was a seamless process with Sunrun handling everything from paperwork to installation to electrical connections. The crew was knowledgeable about what they were doing and I couldn’t have asked for an easier experience

Frustrated with Sunrun Resolving Underperforming System

So this post is a rant about Sunrun Solar! Back in January I get an email from Sunrun that says my system is underperforming and that I need to call to schedule an appointment. The first technician comes out stays all day, but can't fix the problem. Apparently the two main Inverter boxes were not working and needed to be replaced causing a second appointment to be scheduled. The second technician comes out and replaces on box, but cannot replace the second because he ran out of time. This causes a third appointment to be scheduled. I take off work to be at home for the appointment between 7 and Noon. At 1:00 I get a text message an email stating I need to reschedule my appointment. I call Sunrun Customer Support and they say the technician called in so the AI system canceled the appointment. They tell me the next available appointment is a month out! It is now May and the technician comes out replaces the other box but needs to get on the roof to test something with the panels and it starts to rain. Now a fourth appointment is scheduled for June 23rd. Today I get an email and a text message saying I need to reschedule my appointment with no explanation why. After speaking with three Customer Support reps I am told the AI system canceled my appointment because the assigend technician has called out for Monday. The next available appointment is a month from today. I am now convinced they are not really interested in resolving the issue with my system that they determined was underperforming. The department that is responsible for checking to see if their is an earlier appointment apparently doesn't talk to customers but will contact me if an earlier appointment becomea available! I have heard that before. Needless to say I am frustrated with Sunrun and their AI system! I ask one of the reps if I could speak to his manager, he says his manager is not available, I ask why and he says she is on vacation and there is no one else that I can speak to! Now I am ready to cuss! So I hang up and call back to get a different rep who admits that their system is crappy and she would try to work to get an earlier appointment! Will see if that happens! I don't recommend Sunrun! Vinvint was our original vendor and Sunrun bought them out.

Initially, there were some issues with communication between myself, Sun Run and the HOA to gain approval for the project, but once the communication was improved by all parties, the process went smoothly.

I wanted solar but they are giving me the run around and I hear they might be closing ? Does anyone know if that’s true?

Sunrun for Solar

My experience with Sunrun has been very positive and encouraging thus far; with Keon helping me set up dates with contractors, also help with prepping the site (my house) for installation and arranging all permits and inspections needed. All the contractors were great and punctual, really got the job done, and done right! Now I await my actual Solar service and I anticipate more great feedback for this fantastic Solar company; thank you Sunrun!

Worse service ever

Essentially my solar system was installed incorrectly and Sunrun never even addressed the issue for 4 months until I called to make the company aware. Now 6 weeks later the system is still under performing and I have been told repeatedly that they cannot issue any credit to assist me why I still pay a full utility bill as well as a full Sunrun bill. This company misrepresented its service from the beginning and now I’m stuck in a contract with poor service and under performance. Worse decision I’ve made to date. I have zero faith or trust in this company.

Our Solar batteries has been broken twice. On top of that, the wait is almost a year for them to come fix it. Not even a credit. I thought I was going to save money by putting up Solar panels but, actually it costs me more by paying both electric and broken solar. Pls Save your money people. Don’t waste your time and energy by investing to this company.

System does not work, and they want me to pay to diagnose it

I installed a Sunrun 41 panel system in March of 2025. By May, I noticed that output was only 2/3 of what they projected. I reached out on May 22, 2025 and after a few ignored e-mails, they got back to me and said it looked like 1/3 of the system was not generating energy for me. After almost a month, they didn't call, but send a Docusign Agreement for me to pay them $649 to come out and diagnose the system....WTH? So, brand new system, under their so-called 10 year warranty, and they want me to pay them to figure out what they did wrong? I paid over $55K cash for my system. I chose Sunrun, not the cheapest provider, to avoid this type of shenanigans. Just be very careful, this is an awful experience so far.

Zoe was great

She walked me through all the steps and paperwork with ease. She is knowledgeable and professional. The installers were quick and were in an out within just a few hours. There are no wires showing so it looks great.

Honest and thorough

We initially went through momentum solar, until Sunrun contacted us. Found out, that we were being lied to through omission by momentum. Sunrun, is open and honest about all aspects of their company and what they can, cannot, and won't do. With Sunrun, I have never felt left out of the loop, nor have I felt rushed. They try their best to accommodate my second shift work schedule. Every Sunrun employee I have interacted with, has been polite, open, friendly and knowledgeable. If they don't know the answer, they either find it or refer me to the one who does. I have never had an issue talking to a real person for the company and one based within the USA. Sunrun to date, has been the best solar/energy company I have ever dealt with. Colby our sales liaison and Adrianna our coordinator have been excellent. I would highly recommend Sunrun to anyone who wants solar and not being lied to. If your home can't be done for safety reasons, they will tell you so, not be like other companies and just say all is good to get your money. I would say they are honestly concerned for their clients and communities. That is far more than I can say about the utility provider we have prior to activation.

Our installation team with Ray as the foreman, was outstanding. They were experienced, professional, friendly and very efficient. 5 stars for sure!
