Don't get solar panels your better of paying rocking mountain po

Who ever is planning to get solar panels threw vivint. Think again I got my solar panels in 2016. I called to get the remaining balance and I still owe everything from when I started. They don't tell you their second party loan member Mosaic takes all your payment for interest and they don't tell you that. So if you're thinking of getting solar panels with Vivint I would do research and not do it they just steal your money and nothing goes to the account everything goes to the interest so since 2016 I still owe the whole balance on the account and it's 2020 now.

Liars, Cheating , horrible company

Sun run is one of the worst solar company. The panels are defective , they underperform & I had to pay 1200 dollars to SCE. When I approached my so called customer care manager Marc Venture , he has no clue about my file , his only goal Was to keep repeating that “ we will not reimburse “ . Company is a big scam. They have kept uneducated , untrained agents, who have no idea about the technicalities or customer care. The company was taken to the court by us twice , on both the occasions judge found sun run company unprofessional & unethical. We were awarded damages. Now even the third time ,I have just paid extra dollars to the SCE which sun run is refusing to refund The legal team sucks , customer care sucks this whole Company is biggest lie

Unacceptable maintenance service

It has been 3 weeks that we have been trying to get our issue resolved with Vivint Solar. We have multiple leaks in our roof and need our system removed in order to get our roof replaced. It has been nothing but being on hold for hours and told they would call back which never happens. We have been given the run around and they have refused to give us a supervisor to speak with. They keep blaming covid-19 but they are essential workers and they are the only solar company that fir-load their employees. We have had third party companies offer to remove the panels but Vivint will not pay them for the work. Bottom line, they loose money removing and reinstalling the panels while our house gets damaged. This is unacceptable and a breach of contract! If you read other reviews this was an issue before covid-19 with Vivint Solar.

Very professional from the 1st phone call to installation... Don took the reins and handled the HOA and Energy Company... All I had to do was pick an option and an installation date... I was very impressed as to how the data from my electric bill provided the answers to the exact number of solar panels... I found this very refreshing, honest and trustworthy... A few neighbors are interested in your product and options...

Not at all what they promised us

We were told that the system would give us at least a 97% off set. We might be getting thirty. We were told most months we would produce an overage, with a few months where we would get a small bill from Duke Energy. However at the end of the year we would get a check back from Duke for all the overage. We have never produced and overage and WE PAY DUKE ENERGY somewhere between $250-300 a month!! This was by far, the biggest mistake we have ever made. It is a complete scam. We have called and complained multiple times to basically be told too bad, the system seems to working correctly. I noticed this week that on a very sunny day in May at about 12:00 may be half the panels where getting sun light. The people who evaluated the house, electrical needs and placement of the panels clearly di not know what they were doing. We will never recover from this financially. DO NOT USE THEM!! The only positive has been the technicians who have been out to check things, arrived on time and were pleasant. Customer Service has been little help.

Great Service, great install and great price!

Vivint has been great from the beginning, very professional, and very thorough. I have read lots of reviews about many companies and I noticed that it does depend a lot on the salesman, and there are some bad eggs out there. Luckily we got a good one and he was thorough and clear in explaining everything. The install crew was great, wiped their shoes off every time they needed to come inside, and was fast and it looks good! So excited to get our solar energy!

Contract did not specify what we were told in person

When the sales reps came to talk to us they told us we were not leasing or buying, we were just paying for lower wattage, they asked my husband for some information to prove he owned the house and that was that. They never told my husband he was actually signing a contract that stated we were leasing. He thought the contract would come when they installed the solar panels, so he let them install them. He trusted that what we were told would be in the contract. Now we are stuck with solar panels for 25 years and will be paying close to $60,000 by the end of it. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION WHEN THEY COME INTO YOUR HOME! DON'T EVEN LET THEM COME INTO YOUR HOME! They are scamming people!

Huge holes in my Stile roofing filling with debris-causing leaks

I had my solar installed about 3.5 years ago. Production is fine, however, when they cut very large holes in my S tile roofing to support the solar panels they left the holes uncovered and unprotected. Prior to the panels being installed the roof was leak free. Plus Sunrun inspected the roof and approved of the installation. When I asked the installers at the time I was told this would not be a problem as the flashing under the tile was sufficient. Last year I noticed my first leak and even Sunrun confirmed there was a buildup of leaves and debris. They gave me the runaround and now this year I have TWO leaks! Another Sunrun inspector has come out and confirmed the debris build up. The bottom line is that the installers failed to seal the roof penetrations! Numerous roofers have confirmed the problem -- the oak trees nearby blowing twigs, pollen, leaves and debris being blown into the holes!! I am VERY disappointed at their lack of follow through. So like I need to file a complaint with the State Contractors Board and a Court action. Also I will be contacting people at Costo -- they need to be aware of the Sunrun's lack of customer service.

We were lied to upon purchase of this product!

Selfish-lying- money hungry buisness men who dont care about their customers! We got our system in Oahu, Hawaii from a door to door sales man. That person has been very polite and was a big help in the process of getting our system. HOWEVER. when we set up our system we SPECIFICALLY asked about what would happen if we sold our home. What would happen. we were told that we could take the system to our new home. What if we couldnt? the new buyers would be able to renegociate their contract for either a ballooning payment or a set rate payment. Of the 2 options we were given for contract I wanted the set rate and my husband wanted the ballooning. Because we knew we were going to be selling our house within the next year we chose the ballooning because it would benifit us more. We asked several times to be sure about new buyer options. We started the process around July 2019. After the system was planned and intalled, it took Hawaiian electric 8 MONTHS! to turn it on! ABSURD! -but not Vivints fault- We accepted an offer on our house in Match 2020 and had 2 buyers back out because they could not understand the solar system. After some back and forth between the realtor and our sales guy and vivint, Our sales guy is now saying that the set rate was never an option and that the new buyers have to take over the existing contract. That is NOT what we were told. We bought this system because the new buyers would be able to negotiate their own contract. If the buyers don't want the system then we have to pay $75,000 to buy it out because the state we are moving to they dont serve. again, ABSURD. the system its self to include labor is only worth $25,000 give or take. They will not work with us to remove the system or renegociate the contract for the new buyers. Aparently the way it works is Vivint gets investors for the system they are putting up, once the system is turned on (which too 8 months after installation to do!), then Vivint sells the system as a whole to those investors for more than what it costs to put up so vivnt make their profit, then the investors hang onto it while the customer makes the payments each month and at the end of the contract the investors will have made their little bit of profit. so the early buy out price accounts for everyomnes proffit. your essentially paying for the whole lease up front! they will NOT work with us. they are telling us they wont do anything, not even remove it and charge a penalty for breaking the lease. this company is a bunch of money hungry selfish buisness men who dont give 2-shits about their customers!

They have been on like 2 months and they already have issues. And I have to pay them and pay the Utility company like yhe panels don't exists. I tried to terminate the contract and every time you tried to talk with a superior theh are busy, or they hang the phone to avoid you. Is Horrible, PLEASE RUN AND SAY NO I put one star because it was a requirement, they do not deserve it.

Shady, greedy, lying salesman and useless customer service reps

The system itself is OK but the personnel supporting it are useless. Not to mention our lying, shady salesman. I was the first on my block to have the system installed and as a long term homeowner in our development (of over 700 homes) my neighbors will often come to me for advice. My salesman Zach Allred asked me to help him convince my neighbors to go with solar and that I would get a $500 gift card for anyone who did. I spoke with my next door neighbor about it and he was skeptical but cautiously considering it. His issue was that he would have to re-roof, which for him was a complete tear off. I continued to work on him extolling the virtues of my system. Zach had stopped in again and he and my neighbor and I had a conversation where I again told my neighbor that the work he needed to do on his roof would be well worth it. He agreed and signed the contract. I know that the $500 isn't issued until the system is commissioned so I waited until he was up and running and then reached out to Zach, who conveniently had no recollection of our conversations, including the one with the 3 of us. We texted back and forth a couple of times and then he went dead silent on me. I contacted customer service who asked for the details which I sent in writing and they told me they would get back to me in 2-3 business days. 3 weeks later I followed up and wouldn't you know it- they lost my paperwork. So I resent it and Maria said she would ensure that someone would contact me in 2-3 business days. 3 weeks later I followed up again and I was told they were still working on it and someone would....you guessed it, get back to me in 2-3 business days. Surprisingly, that didn't happen. I sent an email to customer service and Maria who I'd spoken with before, and gave them a week to get this resolved and never heard back from anyone. I know people who work for both Trinity and Momentum and would absolutely recommend going with either of those companies over VIVINT. I would never recommend VIVINT to anyone. All they're looking for is for you to sign the contract and then customer support is non- existent. Please avoid VIVINT like the plague- look at their reviews, it's the same story most reviewers tell. Learn from my experience.

Selling a home is a nightmare!

I do not recommend SunRun if you have any desire to sell your home within 25 years of signing a SunRun contract. They do not credit your account until YOU send them the paperwork for selling your house. They don't prorate it to the new owners like any other utility, they do it when they receive the paperwork. Also, they continued to charge me 14 days after I sent my paperwork. Sold my house 12March Charged for the month of March on 28March Sent my paperwork for the transfer 30March Charged me again for 1 month + 2 days on 14April Even though they charge inarrers, they still charged me and my transfer coordinator and even the e-mail I sent to the CEO is ignored. I will never work with SunRun again.
