Over all great, some areas need improvement.

Over all I think SunLux and their employees are great. There are a couple of issues that need to be addressed for the future. One is the need to show the UFER ground in the City of Simi Valley. I think prior to punching holes in my stamped, colored concrete and punching holes in my stucco, you could have contacted the City of Simi Valley for their requirement in this area. I was present during the final inspection of the system and the inspector stated that if he had seen the power panel and it being newer construction, he was find with the ground. I was told that your stucco repair guy was good, and he is great, can not even see the patches to the stucco. But I still have a ground rod in my concrete. Again, everybody from sales to the construction and project managers has been great and I will recommend your company to family and friends.

A Valuable Asset to The Company

Bonnie Torres was always helpful and always responded as quickly as possible. We did discover some communication issues within the Sun Lux company which had a negative impact on the actual date of my installation, but we worked through it quickly, and I'm sure Bonnie will handle the internal issue within normal company protocols. I especially appreciated that Bonnie speaks absolutely fluent English, and she speaks very clearly and is easy to understand. Her written communication is also excellent; as a retired professor of English, I appreciate her skill.

Resolved original issues

Update 8/24/2021: all issues have been resolved with the company ------------------------------------------------------------- Went with Sunlux to get a solar system to hook up an electric jacuzzi ( that was a mistake right away, should not use electric to heat jacuzzi, not worth it at all, even with solar ). I told the salesmen this was the purpose of installing solar, and he said great and led me down the path to obtain solar with Sunlux. My bill went through the roof once I started running my jacuzzi and after multiple attempts, no one at Sunlux is willing to help in anyway... they are literally in it just for the sale, dont waste your time and go with literally any other solar company!!! Also, if you are military, they dont offer any discounts, just FYI...

Excellent Experience

The process with Sunlux has been superb. Our house is pretty old and needed an electric panel upgrade as well as grounding rods etc, and the Sunlux team took care of it without any additional cost to me or complaints. Their team has been wonderful and were ahead of the scheduled timeline that they told me. I'd definitely recommend them.

Professional, knowledgeable, helpful

Working with Gabriel from Sunlux was great! He made the whole process seamless and quick from start to finish; I am very happy with there solar installation and with the finance company, Sungage and would recommend both companies to family and friends.

Detailed, specific, honest and conscientious.

SunLux had the best overall reviews and feedback from customers. We had engaged 6 other solar panel vendors and narrowed it down to SunLux based on our consultations. SunLux was one of the very few vendors that answered our questions truthfully. This was extremely important to us since we have a metal roof. The final factor was SunLux were reasonably priced. In addition the city inspections, solar panel installation and final activation with SoCal Edison went flawlessly. Our project manager, Berlyn, was the most detailed, communicative and honest 3rd party project manager I’ve ever dealt with. I’d honestly offer her a position at our company if I could. All of the SunLux folks at every stage in the process were conscientious and courteous.

Highly recommended, great communication, exceeded expectations!

I believe the price is very competitive. We were provided information about integrating Tesla Power Wall batteries that others did not reveal to us. The installation crews were very professional. All stages of the project were done in a timely manner with great communication for each step by the project manager, Gabriel Benko. Gabriel responded to all inquiries promptly and provided the information requested. Overall, exceeded our expectations.

SUNLUX ENERGY an OUTSTANDING SOLAR COMPANY

From my initial contact with SunLux's sales department all the way to the installation of my Tesla Powerwall 2 battery the engineering department, install team and customer service team were simply the best. Each department was on top of everything they kept me up to date with detailed accounts of what I should expect next and when there was a delay they were very honest about why there was a delay. My project manager, Erika, was hands down the best communicator anyone could want when going through a major install. I would recommend SunLux for any type of solar energy project you have there prices were as good or better than other solar companies in the area.

Relatively painless...

I considered several different solar providers for this project. SunRun, PetersenDeen, SunLux, and a company recommended by my company. The nameles company was unwilling to perform any roofing upgrades for me since I found out that I had a composite shingle/shaker roof with two layers of shingles on that would need to be ripped off and replaced for this project. PetersenDeen had sent out some VET who looked like Huel Hauser who stomped all over my flowers while breaking off a small piece of my roof to show me it was what he was calling it. I will be honest. This guy was a typical salesman and he really did not seem to care about anything but the sale. Needless to say, PetersenDeen was eliminated. This left SunLux and Sunrun. Sunrun came from Home Depot and they seemed very attractive. Their salesman was laid back, no pressure and very friendly and informative with all of my questions. He seemed to care a great deal that the experience be good and the materials were going to meet my standards. Except, that they would be able to fix parts of the roof that needed upgrades, but not the entire roof because they did not do that. That left SunLux. But, since I found a roofer that was going to give me a slightly better price than SunLux, I ended up having to decide between Sunrun and SunLux in the end. I chose SunLux. Throughout the entire process, everyone was nice. All of the workers were cool and professional. People here know how to do their jobs and treat customers. Which is funny because I had given them crap about the initial phone presentation that I was given, but that was more of me being tired of having to sit through the 5th solar interview with another company that day... I purchased a new roof from a local roofer and everything seemed to fall into place after that. Would I hire them again? Absolutely. Would I recommend them to friends and family? Absolutely. Their communication in what is going on is very thorough, but not too thorough so that you get an information overload. Anytime that I had an issue (once) I called them and they were on top of things. My issue was minor with a piece of my interior wall about the size of a cell phone breaking off when they had to move my electrical panel. I discovered it later and was not sure who to call so I called and asked what the process was and within the next 15-20 minutes the project foreman came back from lunch and made contact. They were aware of the hole and they were already going to schedule someone to come out to have a look before I called. The guy that came out ALSO was the same guy that fixes the stucco around the panel moves. This guy knows what he is doing and I am glad that I chose this company because this guy is a sub contractor and he is happy to fix a few more stucco related issues at the house. He is also a great painter. If you choose SunLux you should have 0 regrets about them. Let them do their job, sit back and watch them work as you enjoy your coffee.

So happy we went with Sunlux

We are producing clean energy! When we decided to go solar, our most important decision was to go with a company that would stand behind their work, the products they installed, and provide unparalleled customer service. After researching many companies we decided to go with Sunlux, and we are glad we did. We believe the true test of a company shows up when “hurdles” are thrown at them… Demands from solar panel manufacturers onto solar companies making solar panel sourcing difficult, to working with “demanding” city permitting and building & safety departments, and of course the whole Covid-19 issue that everyone has had to deal with. Through it all, Sulux had our back. I can’t speak for the city you live in, but I would say by far, working though our city’s permitting and building & safety departments were the most challenging aspect of our project. Our city has the most nit-picky reviewers, which at times I believe that their goal is to reject, reject, and then reject again, solar plans, all while our contractor (Sunlux) is doing their best to provide corrections, updates, and information requested by our city’s permitting departments. Sunlux hung in there, and got our system approved (which was no small feat!) Once approved, it took about two months to get an installation date (the whole industry is currently being “pounded” with everyone trying to go solar to take advantage of the tax credit). Once we got our installation date, our system was installed in two days, then it was city inspected and passed 22 days later, then it was commissioned the following day, and we have been producing clean energy ever since! From the system design and options selection process (thank you Jerry Hong) through coordination and oversite of our project (thank you Berlyn Yamas), Sunlux as a company kept us informed, responded to our city’s numerous requests for design details and specifications, and kept us on track even through these “Covid times”. All personnel that we contacted were safety conscious, respectful of our home and property, and most of all considerate. We would not hesitate to recommend Sulux to anyone considering a solar system, they are truly a standup company!

Outstanding Work - Very Professional

I highly recommend Sunlux Solar. I contracted with Sunlux for 34 panels and a new roof a little over 3 months ago. I am extremely pleased with both my solar panel installation and my new roof. My salesperson (Chris) was very honest, informative and professional. There was no sales pressure at all. He explained the entire project in detail and satisfactorily answered all my questions. He was extremely patient with me when I called him numerous times with questions I had pertaining to my internet solar research I conducted as I was educating myself on solar. I got several quotes prior to choosing Sunlux. Although Sunlux was a little more expensive than others (not much), I chose Sunlux because of the professionalism Chris displayed and because they are a large professional company who is dedicated to customer service. I believe in "you get what you pay for" and I am extremely pleased with Sunlux, as I got much more than I paid for. I am very happy I chose them for my project. My project manager (Berlyn) was outstanding. She was constantly communicating with me by either phone, email or text. She kept me apprised of every step of the project and was always responsive to me whenever I called her. She always got back to me immediately. She was professional, polite, informative and defiantly dedicated to customer service. She always made sure I knew what was happening, kept me in the loop, and that I was pleased. It was a pleasure working with Berlyn. The project took a little over 3 months to complete, but that was due to permitting issues and not the fault of Sunlux. None the less, Berlyn was in constant contact with the building authorities and moved things right along. The installers were very professional, polite and defiantly demonstrated pride in their work. The installation was clean, seamless and it looks fantastic. All the electrical is hidden in my attic and out of sight (except for my inverter). My roofer was Troy Roofing who was subcontracted through Sulux. Although I am not a fan of subcontractors, Sunlux changed my opinion about subcontractors. They were in contact with the roofer the entire time and I never had to deal with the roofer directly. Troy Roofing did an exceptional job on my roof. The guys worked 3 hard long days in 100 degree weather. They demonstrated pride in their work and they did an excellent job. I highly recommend Troy Roofing. In summary, I am extremely pleased with Sunlux Solar and the outstanding job they did. They totally exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them for your solar project. You will not regret it. From start to finish Sunlux answered all my questions, were able to meet my price expectations, and responded quickly to any questions I had throughout. I am happy with the system, it looks great on the roof, and I have appreciated the fact they still respond to emails and messages even when they already have my money! I researched a few o the big name Solar companies in the area. Decided on Sunlux and from day one, their team reached out answered all of my concerns and kept me in the loop at all stages from layout, permits, actual installation, and to my final inspection. I have an app on my phone, and can see my production wherever I may be....Extremely pleased with the company and their entire team.

Installed during Covid shutdown.

We thought our solar installation would be canceled due to Covid. Sunlux reps kept in contact with us through the process. We had delays getting the permit from the city. Once permit came through, Sunlux professional staff of installers came through and installed the panels in 1 day and left no mess. Edison took some time to authorize our solar. But we couldn’t be happier with our solar. We are savings $$$ even after a 2 months.

Completely satisfied with the entire process

From the initial salesman contact to the finance, engineering, support staff and management - I was very impressed with all aspects of the process. I am a very picky engineer that understands how things work and are put together. The team took all my ideas and made them a reality. The installers were professional and very detail oriented and Jennifer Bennett at corporate continously monitored the project. She was always available to answer questions and make things happen to my complete satisfaction. Sunlux is super professional. They installed our solar within 2 days of the approved permit. Our Project Manager Erika Garcia is super efficient and responsible. I had an issue with the power on Friday night after the installation and sent her an email at 12:17 AM midnight. The tech shows up at my door the next morning at 8AM. When I saw the tech, I am speechless with their service. Jerry Hong is my sales representative, very knowledgeable about the solar, and usually, reply to my text in a minute. He even helps me take some pictures of the solar panel with his drone. I would like to give them 6 stars! I never have this kind's positive experience with any construction projects.

Absolutely Fantastic!!

The entire Sunlux team has been incredible from start to finish. During the sales presentation, there was no uncomfortable up selling or pressure by Chris. The installation process managed by Jen was seamless, and whenever there was an issue (all issues were minor) she took considerable effort to ensure our care and solve the problem. The roof and the panels look fabulous and they are producing as expected - we couldn’t be happier!! We received 3 other quotes for the project and Sunlux beat the competition in every category, which actually made me a bit nervous, but after going through the whole project, I am blown away that they exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Sunlux and Troy Roofing for any project you might have. Thanks Garrett and the entire Sunlux crew!!

Above and Beyond

I had my solar installed by Petersen Dean back in March 2020. Covid happend and they went out of business. The skeleton crew that still exists there to answer phones seems to take pride in the horrible situation they've left their customers in. As of writing this review for Sunlux I've made 3 payments for my non operational solar, and have been told by Petersen Dean that they'll get back to us after the bankruptcy is over. One of the emails I received had other Petersen Dean employees CC'd just to share how "snarky" they could be with people that are basically helpless... Anyway. I'm now trying to go through the final setup and permitting myself, and discovered that Petersen Dean had never installed or given us a cellular chip and antenna that we paid for. This is how I found Garrett at Sunlux. For no reason I'm aware of, he has gone way out of his way for a non Sunlux customer. Today a Sunlux tech showed up at my house at 7am and installed the chip and antenna for free. I offered to pay multiple times and was told not to worry about it. Unfortunately I can't do it all over, and I am stuck with a warranty problem in the future, but I've been told I can contact Sunlux for help if I ever need it. I highly recommend sunlux if your looking for another level of customer service.

Professional Service, Sale, and Installation

We are very pleased with the entire process of having a solar system installed by this firm. Every interaction with their employees was very pleasant. The installation crew did a fantastic job, and they left our property neat and clean. Our new system works great and we are very glad we selected this vendor for our home. SunLux is a first class provider of solar systems.

Excellent solar company

Sunlux made the solar installation pretty easy and straightforward. The sales person, Jerry, came for a free estimate and quote (very professional and knowledgeable). He answered all our questions and even got us a few deals on the solar package. Installation took a few weeks for approvals from LADWP but installation of solar panels by sunlux was the highest quality and fastest ever (one day install). Throughout the buying process, the project manager, Berlyn was just the best! All the praise to her. She did all the hard work behind the scenes from approvals and scheduling to making sure we were satisfied from start to complete as well as informed us about everything. Thank you Berlyn! All in all- without a question this has been the best investment for our home. Don’t hesitate and really, give sunlux a try- you can thank me later. :)

Highly Recommended, especially with roofing issues

Highly Recommended. I'm glad I didn't give up on my solar project because I almost did. Back in 2019, I was ready to move ahead with the project and went to energysage.com get quotes. I've had over 10 quotes and I actually even signed up with another installer at the time (not SunLux) and started the project. Then shortly after the project started I was told they discovered my roof had issues so the project was cancelled. I cancelled in part 1) the installer didn't do roofing and I didn't want to deal with multiple contractors and 2) the unexpected cost in the project. And apparently, the installer wasn't too excited about either, it seem. I guess most installers out there just want the easy installs but that's not the real world out there. I all but had given up. Then 6 months later I decided I give it another try and recalled Sunlux had given me a quote prior but never follow on it. Explained my situation to Tracy, my Sunlux consultant and he said my roof is certainly not an issue. He was very responsive to my needs, customized a system that I want and even had a great suggestion on the panel placement. How it looks is as important as the power. So with contract signed, this is typically where most solar project fall apart (right?) and this is what I heard from my neighbors with their solar project from a different installer. Nope, not with Sunlux. The project moved quickly and it stayed that way. I got coordinated with the project manager Jennifer and she made sure all my concerns were addressed. Even with Covid, the project took no more than 3 months and the bulk of the wait is with permitting. Very happy with the overall install experience, pricing, and service. If you have a roof issue like mine I high recommend you give Sunlux a try. Highly recommended!
