Highly recommend Solar Energy World

After building a new energy efficient house in 2014, we had always planned on a solar installation in the future. I did my homework on other solar contractors and finally selected Solar Energy World earlier this year. Our project was a little more complicated since we had a detached garage structure (separate from our house) where all our electricity comes in, as well as a backup generator. My salesperson Will was very informative and presented the various options clearly regarding system size, financing, etc. Having been around for all of our house construction, I was familiar with contractors being on site, and must say I was very impressed with the quality of work of the electrical and panel installation team, as well as the on-site project manager Henry. Workers were on-site 4 days total, and did a first class job installing a 15.3 kWp system (51 panels) on our metal roof. The electrical team even went the extra mile of spray painting the metal conduit to match the brown metal roof so that it would blend in with the roof color. The system took longer than originally planned to get installed due to delays with approvals from our utility company (PECO) and local township, but these were out of the control of SEW. It is great to see the solar production showing now on the SolarEdge website, and we anticipate being "net-zero" with this installation. Outstanding service. I would recommend. All paperwork was thoroughly explained, completed and submitted by Solar Energy World (S.E.W). The only problem I have is the app. The app takes upward of 3+ hours to update.

Solar Energy World is a well organized company with professional management and installers. The work was beautifully and flawlessly done. The people are nice to work with. They arranged everything (installation, inspection, connection with my power company, SREC sale, state tax credit etc. etc). I practically don't need to do anything.

Customer service is top notch

After talking to multiple solar companies, Solar Energy World had the best prices. They were knowledgeable about local laws and benefits. Installation was quick, they handled the vast majority of the paperwork and ever since then their customer service has been great and quick.

The whole process from start to finish was done very professionally and quickly. The install looks great and you can't even see the conduit running from the meter to the panels. My first electric bill showed zero hours charged to my account along with a negative balance of electricity charged back to the utility. I now look forward to getting my utility bill.

Great experience with genuine savings

Did research on six solar firms and visited plants of two before selecting Solar Energy World. Jonathan was a great representative and highly responsive contact before, during and after the installation. The one slight glitch in the installation was the panels were not aligned symmetrically on the roof initially, but that was taken care of within a week. First two months bills from utility company were each $13.00 for taxes and fees but no electricity from the utility. We have had bills 18-20 times higher than that. SEW has the process down to a science and communicate well throughout. I cannot sing their praises too loudly.

Clean and safe energy

Since I installed my Solar Panels, it helped in preventing the leafs from blocking my gutters, and this saved me more money. It did safe me on my energy bill an average of $70 to a 100 per month, and that is a good saving and with the heat wave in Maryland and the rest of the USA my central A/C is working all day and keeping my house cool for the night, Thanks SolarRun

Good Installation in Rock Hall

I was very pleased with the workmanship on the project and also very pleased with follow up and explanations by the salesman and the folks at the home office. It is working well and in spite of the heat our "net meter" is showing that we are producing more than we are using even on these HOT days.

A most satisfying experience

I evaluated multiple home solar companies and visited the facilities of two before selecting Solar Energy World (SEW). The SEW staff was very forthcoming and made clear early on that an evaluation of my house and its location and site would be required to insure that solar would be effective for me. At every stage, I was informed as to the process that would be involved and which stage we were in and what would come next. All of my options were explained to me and an estimate as to the time required and therefore the schedule that installation would entail. SEW took care of the permitting and were sensitive to the fact that the small town in which my house is located is one with an historical district and residents' who scrutinize changes in their neighborhoods. Ours was the first house on our block and only the third or fourth in the entire town to have solar installed. SEW provided me photos of houses I could share with residents as well as maps that displayed where in the region solar installations had been done. The installation of our system was on a roof that was apparently among the sharpest pitches of any others done by SEW. The crew arrived and worked through 1.5 days, were polite and careful about any damage to the plantings and the house itself. Late on Day 1, a SEW service rep came by, checked on the installation, and spoke with me about what I could expect to take place once installation was complete and my electricity provider made its connection to the solar unit. As it happened, the solar panels were slightly off center, a fact my spouse recognized belatedly. I phoned the SEW rep and emailed him a photo of the roof. He agreed the panels were off slightly and he would have the crew back to make the small adjustments. That took place almost immediately. Finally, SEW called to let me know my electricity provider had been notified of installation and was requested to make its connection so that the solar system could be turned on. That took place in short order and the system went live. It's now been a bit more that 8 weeks since the system went on. My electric bill was $13.00, all of which were taxes and such. The system is producing ample electricity and the big change is . . . nothing has changed. Our lives have not been interrupted and everything works as normal, except I am not paying three-figure electric bills as temperatures hit the upper 90s and the humidity reaches 80%. This has been the most effective and efficient large-scale technology installation we have done over a history of owning nine houses and undertaking major renovations. I credit SEW with conducting their business in exemplary fashion, never promising more than they could deliver, always following through on their commitments, and responding to my questions and needs.

The best experience ever. Workers/technicians/engineers were extremely communicative. Installation was clean and of everyone installation (other companies) in my neighborhood, mine looks the best. Cut my electric bill in half.

Would buy from again

Professional from the getgo. The salesman explained everything in detail of how the process would go and what to expect with everything from install to billing. They stayed on schedule with installation and everything looks clean without conduit everywhere. Very happy with the process through solar energy world. Glad we went with them instead of other companies out there.

Good Deal

Installation was painless although it took longer than expected when the wrong panels were shipped. The clean-up was good. Look forward to longer days since the system was turned on in January 2018.

Roof Leaks

Panels were installed 20 months ago. Roof has been leaking since install. repairs have been attempted 4 times and it still leaks. I last called about new leaks 16 days ago, still no call back. Think I'll just remove panels myself, repair damage and send bill to corporate. I'm done with this company.

Very knowledgable and easy to work with

Brian H. at SolarEnergyWorld was excellent -- an extremely straight-forward and knowledgable guy, and he handled my work from start to finish. Helped with tax credit questions, had all the details on different types of financing, hardware, warranties, etc. After installation there were a few problems with permits, the power company, hook-ups, etc, and S E W did great with all of it. It was really a very smooth effort. Glad I went with them!

All in all a great experience

Everything from start to finish was great. There are many steps throughout the process, but Colin was great in being able to Move things along quickly. If you're thinking about going solar, def. call Colin and Solar Energy World!

Almost Perfect

SE World carried us through the process with flying colors--until activation. There was no checking with me after BGE finished their installation to see that activation had, in fact, occurred. As it turns out, I was told--by the BGE guy that to activate all I had to do was throw the inside switch. This was half true. I simple visit to the outside would have shown me that there was an obvious on switch there, and other activation indicators. I was not apprised of this nor did anyone check back with me to see if activation was OK. I found out by going on line that I was not active. From there it was a matter of a couple of days. I would still recommend this company and hope this will help them and others to cross that final 't'.

Complete rip off

I have had the solar panels turned on for about 3 months and they have done nothing for my electric bill. I’ve basically just been paying two electric bills for one house.

A Comfortable Experience

My wife and I met with only two solar energy companies. After the first one (although it was appealing, it was very high pressure), we met with Solar Energy World. The representative used a much more customer-friendly approach. All aspects of the project - equipment, installation, expected savings, costs - were explained very straightforwardly. At this point, a few months after final installation, we have seen a lowering of our electric bill, at about the rate we had been told to expect. The true test of the value of solar energy will be realized when we hit the summer months with almost constant use of air conditioning. In short, everything is going as planned.

So far so good

From the time the process started they have been great. Everything was clearly explained before being done, and installation was quick and painless. Panels look great. Hard to tell so far about how much we will save since it is winter, but looking forward to Spring and Summer.

Solar panel installation for home

We are really happy for the customer service provided by the company. Typically I do not write reviews but I prefer to write the review as this is one of the big investment for individuals. From start to the end of installation, this company and their employee provided excellent support at each and every step. The installation crew did excellent job and I couldn’t see any wiring pipes on roof. The Sales rep( Bryan Hacker) and the installation crew are very knowledgeable and they know what they are doing. I had talked to the rep of other companies (sorry I will not disclose the name of compnies) and I really appreciate that Bryan is more knowledgeable than the other rep. He is very prompt in responding for any questions ASAP. I have also attended the free seminar offered at their facility. See the website for the registration date. Overall, the company is honest (which I like the most) and I will recommend to my friends. Recommendations to buyer: I highly recommend to replace a roof before installation of panels. I recommend to install Monocrystalline panels per my internet research. I am glad to have the business with the ‘Solar energy world’. Regards, Sachin and Mona
