Top notch customer service from initial consult to post-install

I truly rarely write reviews but happy to do so for Solar Energy World and Pete Barnes. We had considered solar last year and was approached by a door-to-door sales person for another company (yes, during the height of the pandemic). We wanted some time to do our own research but this sales person was so pushy that he actually wanted me to sign a 19 page contract on his tablet (i.e., no ability to read the fine print) just to allow his team to access the roof for a more accurate assessment. We refused to sign and I am glad that we waited. I decided to reach out to SEW after seeing that they were part of Solarize Nova. We worked with Pete Barnes and could not have been more pleased. We had a lot of questions regarding the different panels and Pete was always available to answer our questions. We are lucky enough to cover 100% of our electricity needs with solar so switching was a no-brainer. The installation crew were fantastic - they completed the work as promised, leaving nothing behind. Each day, they met with us to describe what work was left and at the end, went over how to run the system with us. We have enjoyed paying only the Dominion service fee since August. We also had a scary issue where water was coming into our electric panel when it rained. We reached out to Pete who escalated the issue and SEW sent a service consultant to our house to deal with this issue. It turned out that the water had nothing to do with SEW's work (an underground conduit from the back yard had broken so rain water was leaking in). The SEW consultant still remained on site to try to help us figure out where the water was coming from. Pete followed up with us on a regular basis until we were able to call in an electrician to fix the issue. We have yet to find any contractor or service as incredible, trustworthy, and conscientious about their work as SEW.

Solar Energy World - One of the Best

Experience has been a pleasure. It began and ended with "Nick", the very knowledgeable, courteous, and human salesperson who was my primary contact throughout the experience. SEW won the bid because their competition simply fell by the wayside one by one. They were clearly the best on a number of fronts. I have previous experience with solar panels, having leased panels from Solar City (Tesla), which has generally been a good experience. Solar City was a prime contender for my new home, and I had a slight bias for their product, but their less than complete human interface eventually doomed their bid. My experience with their local technical staff was good, my inability, time and time again, to speak to someone who could help was frustrating. The deal killers were their two flawed demands, the first mandating the purchase of their $15K battery system, less some discounts. The second deal killer was their decision "to keep the Solar Residential Energy Credits (SREC)". If your state gives SREC's, this can represent more than 50% of the annual electricity you generate, a significant factor when purchasing the panels. All of the other companies provided SREC's, except Tesla. Two competitors overbid by about $8-10K, while the 3 other competitors, who were price competitive, could not match SEW's superior warranty, or failed to follow-up with me. I was also surprised how many companies refused to consider panel installation because I lived in a townhouse. There were several strong and technically accurate sales presentations, but I am still waiting for a follow-up from one of the companies, and Nick was consistently there with the answer whenever I had a question. The final compliment was when I did follow-up with one of the other companies and told them I had selected SEW, there response, "Sorry you did not select us, but they are a good company!"

Nothing but a joy

Working with Jeff Nachman has been nothing but a positive experience. If he didn't answer the phone on the first or second ring, By the time I was finished leaving a message, Jeff was calling me back. That shows true dedication, any and all questions I had, Jeff provided an answer to my question, If he didn't know the answer, he would go back and get the correct answer to my question, that is a trait I truly admire -honesty.

I'm very happy with my solar installation from Solar Energy World. Pete B did a great job explaining and and answer all my questions. He is local and very knowledgeable. I was impressed that they knew all the local regulations unlike the other quotes I received which did not know you can't put solar panels in certain areas on the roof. I was glad the paperwork with the HOA and the state went smoothly. The installation went smoothly and it works great. The installers were great at communicating at every point that I needed. I'm glad they scheduled and finished the project before the summer so I can soak up all that summer sun in the first year. It's saving the environment, it's saving me money on electricity, and it increases my home's value. We even got some drone pictures! Thanks guys.

Seamless process from start to finish - Top notch service

From my initial consultation, through assessment, contract, design, installation, inspection and final interconnection the process couldn't possibly have been smoother. Every scheduled appointment was made on time. Every promised timeframe was either met or beaten. Each person that I contacted, was contacted by or met onsite was extremely professional and answered all of my questions from the basics through the more technical aspects of the design and install. Each and every person is genuinely committed to not just the product, but also the customer and it shows. My install wasn't simply done to be good enough, but far surpassed my expectations. I couldn't be happier.

WOW! I am so happy!

My solar panels went in in Apr (2021) and I could not be more pleased! The process was flawless and Jeff Nachman held my hand all the way (not that I needed that much as I have been considering solar for a long time but was not able to do it until now. Glad I waited and went with the right company! The installers were professional and courteous; they cleaned up after themselves (and even went a little beyond because my yard looked neater afterwards than it did before). All my questions were answered with clear explanations and they didn't seem to mind me asking what to them were probably frequently asked questions. To give you a greater picture of my experience let me tell you about my electric use. First, I live in a 54 year old, ALL-ELECTRIC house. From May through Oct of this year my KWH from Pepco was 0 (zero). In Nov, I started to pull more electricity from Pepco then I put in BUT it was less than 1/2 of what I used in 2020 for the month of Nov. I expect that as the winter continues this trend will continue until early Spring, but that is expected and I firmly believe that the total by next April will continue to be far less than the previous years. I highly recommend Solar Energy World and if you are just wondering if this is for you - take it from me, it probably is!

TJ and the team were exceptionally considerate and mindful through the whole process. The arrived when they said they would and worked constantly though the day to get the project done in the timeframe they said it would take. Everything was nicely cleaned up when they finished, and TJ made sure to go over things with me so I understood what I needed to. Very pleased!

Worth the Wait (22 weeks)

The whole Solar Energy World experience was illuminating. Every claim and promise from our salesperson, Daren Weatherby, has already been validated. All of the complicated processes having to do with the electric company (and the incentives ) were handled by Solar Energy World. Everyone, from Daren, to the office staff, to the folks on the roof, was prompt, friendly, and profoundly competent. And now, through an app, we can watch in real time how our panels are working for us.

I am happy with Solar Energy World's performance thus far. They did as promised. Kudos to the installation team, who did a fine job installing my panels. When a neighbor asked about the solar panels, I provided Jay Randell's name and contact information.

We started our journey with solar installation by sending a request from Solar Energy World (SEW) website, and a very nice gentleman Paul Wicks contacted us. From day one he was more like a friend sharing his thoughts and information than a salesperson. We opted for a virtual/zoom consultation with him, but in the very first meeting we were impressed by his knowledge, being able to see our needs from our perspective, a total family man who shares all his personal reasons for going solar so that we can relate and find our answers on the way. He super impressed us by always being there for all our questions. We had quite a few questions as we consulted 7 other vendors, and everyone tried to how their competition was bad. But not SEW. They told us what they have to offer, how they are good, how it will impact us, how we will be benefited and how their services are the best. No beating down the competition rather just trying to see what a customer need. Yes, you guessed it right, Solar Energy World were the best and that is why we went with them. Let me take you a little further into our journey. Paul had mentioned that we are entering into a relationship for next 30 years and they will take care of us all along the way, and given what we have seen so far they surely standby their promise. I have bugged Paul countless times and every time he has returned my message or phone call with promptness and always a smile on his face. Every time leaving me fully satisfied with all the answers. Finally, we signed the contract as we found no one came close to beating their price and above all the deciding factor was "quality of service" which impressed us a lot. After that, there were several steps leading up to the installations, but every time someone contacted us from their administrative office or knocked on our door to perform inspections, they were always very courteous and polite. Always followed Covid-19 protocols as promised. The day of installation, they were on time, and introduced themselves, and made sure that i verify and i am satisfied that the panels they are installing is what i signed up for, and they went over the plan on how they will do it, what all it will entail and how the final thing will look like. They always made sure i am not having any concern whatsoever with the parts, labor and process. Once it was all complete on day two, they cleaned up the whole area and gave us a very detailed overview of the system. The only thing remaining was the utility company to do the net meter installation/approval. Utility company did their part within few days and all one had to do was flip the system 'start' switch. Thats it, and right away i could monitor on my phone app, the system had started power generation. WOW!!!! We were thrilled and excited. Then came the time for all the incentives for going solar. I thought i will have to do the paperwork and contact authorities. But to my surprise again, Solar Energy World told me that i do not need to worry and they will do all the work on my behalf. WOW i was so impressed. All i had to do was sit back relax and respond to email as and when they came from their administrative office to do the next steps. In short: When we started this journey, with interviewing 8 vendors, we had thought it would be a very painstaking process. BUT BOY we were so wrong. This company took solid care of our since day one, and this was the best and smoothest exterior modification project we have every done to our house!!! No questions!! Their professionalism, customer obsession and after install support all have concluded in a buying experience that I feel at ease recommending to anyone looking to add solar energy panels to their home. Solar Energy World is by far the best solar energy company that I contacted for my new system. The company is unique in that it provides complete turn-key service from first visit to system start-up. It handles all activities related to establish your own solar energy power plant. All employees are highly skilled and knowledgeable, whether it be the managers, system engineers, installation technicians, and/or customer service. Paul Skorochod, my assigned project manager, spent about 4 hours on my initial visit, and answered every question that I had. He was immediately available in answering all my questions whether by phone or email, and kept me apprised of progress and status throughout. Based upon our discussion, I knew that I would select Solar Energy World as my system solution provider. Having managed multiple industrial and service related projects for the past 25 years, there is no question in my mind that Solar Energy World outshines all of its competitors.
