Going local was worth it!

I selected SEW for a few reasons - their detailed project plan and estimate, the zoom call I had with Pete Barnes where he patiently answered all my questions, the cost and panel layout comparison with other bids I got, and last but not least, because I wanted to give business to a local company. One of the main benefits of the local choice was that they had a good grasp of the requirements that both the state and the county imposed on solar panel installations, and were up front about what they could and could not do. I also was reassured that Pete lived in the neighborhood and in any case was just a call away for any questions before and after the installation. SEW set up everything from getting approval from the local architectural committee to the county inspections required. The installation itself went very smoothly and I was informed in advance at every stage as to what would happen next, and there was always a follow-up email after as well, including the county inspections and the BGE interconnect for the net metering. The only thing that caused me some concern and trepidation was the gap between signing the contract and fixing the date for the installation - which was almost 4 months during which I hardly got any updates (I was of course aware of the impact that the pandemic was having on supply chains and staffing). Overall, I'm very happy with my solar panels as well as the Enphase monitoring system, and am really glad that I "went local"!

Excellent Customer Service

I used to work in the residential solar energy industry, so when I reached out to Solar Energy World for solar on my new residence, I knew what questions to ask and what the answers should be. Jon Crill answered my questions honestly and accurately, and never tried to up-sell me or over-promise. The price was competitive and fair, so I decided that Solar Energy World was the right company for my solar project. The communication from the installation and scheduling teams was timely and informative and the installers were friendly. The install looks clean and neat (unlike some of the larger company installs that I've seen). I'm happy I FINALLY was able to go Solar and even happier that I picked the right company!

Highly Recommend Solar Energy World

The entire process was professional. Paul Skorochod was knowledgeable and responsive throughout the entire course of our design, approval, installation and inspection. (Pat O’Brian filled for Paul on the day of the inspection when Paul was on vacation and was also very professional and helpful.). Our system is working well and producing more electricity than estimated in the design report.

Solar Energy World did a really great job on the installation with great crews showing up at each step of the way. While the process took a bit longer than I originally expected, Solar Energy World did a great job at setting timing expectations and typically finishing the different steps in the process ahead of their suggested dates. We ran in to a couple snafus during the process tied that could not have been foreseen, and they worked diligently to resolve the issues with very minimal impact to me -- I truly think they set a customer satisfaction standard as far as I'm concerned. I was even more pleased to see that they completed the process of applying for both SRECs and the Fairfax County property tax exemption on my behalf which were frankly steps I assumed I would be doing on my own. Their above-and-beyond service to exceed my expectations was truly appreciated there. My purchase was initated via Solarize NOVA campaign which I would highly recommend to make the decision and process even easier.

Best service ever

Absolutely the best experience in all sense: product quality/price ratio, warrantee length and coverage, project planning, approval and installation process, onsite teams, post-sales followups, etc. Jeff (the salesperson) is the best: his presentation is very friendly, educational, no purchase pressure at all. The company takes care all the paperwork, but keep me well informed on every steps. Jeff follows through the whole installation process and make sure everything is done correctly and quickly. Since I started to shop around, it took about 3 months to have solar panels running on my roof. Very pleasant and smooth process.

Great experience!

Our experience with Solar Energy World has been excellent. We previously had solar at our residence in Pennsylvania and wanted to have it installed at our new Maryland home. When we first contacted Solar Energy World, Eric came to our home, explained our options and reviewed the process of required permits and grants (which they submit) and installation. He presented the cost and made sure all of our questions were answered with no pressure to make a decision quickly. We were just asked to contact them with our decision. We had received an estimate from another company, but preferred Solar Energy World not only because of the price difference, but that they monitor our system for 30 years. We were updated on approval of permits and each step of the process. The five man crew of installers and electricians were great during the two day installation! Charlie, Roscoe, Thomas, Rico and Dave were all very personable, courteous, conscientious and seemed to enjoy working with one another. Final inspection in a few days followed by meter replacement and then . . . Bring on the SUN!

I ordered a solar installation for my home from Jon Crill after speaking with him extensively on several occasions. Jon was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions completely with a thorough understanding of my needs. The installation was flawlessly performed by Dawson and his competent crew. Your sales department was great and so were the installers. Especially the electricians they were 5 stars in my book. Your roofers could do a bit better with their clean up and not driving in the yard. And the quality of work from the electricians was also suburb.

Great Company and Sales/Project Management Process

Nick Briggs did a great job explaining the technology and options in a way that I understood. He was responsive and the sales and installation process was excellent. Awesome -- Start to Finish!

Daren Weatherby introduced me to the world of Solar Energy. Hew took his time and was very patient as I asked a gazillion questions. Every person that worked on my project did a superb job...answered questions and handled everything from start to finish. At the outset it was determined that I needed a new roof. I selected a new 50 year roof. It was installed without any issues. The solar panel installation and the system were all handled flawlessly. Everyone who worked on m house were quite courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. during the installation stage, one of the installer came to tell me about a major problem he encountered. By the time he had come to report the problem, he had used his knowledge to repair the issue so that it ceased being an issue. At the end of the installation, he answered all my questions, show me how to operate the system and how to turn it on when it was time and demonstrated the phone app. They then totally cleaned up all their work areas. when they had gone, the only evidence that they had ever been there was the solar panels and the system all installed --ready to go! I am very pleased and have been recommending this company to all my friends.

Jack Bolel's amazing support made the project possible, especially his encouragement and advice on installing a new roof membrane. The design team incorporated my suggestions about panel layout. The installers came two days early, on a Saturday morning, to get the installation completed before weather interfered. Ari Fischel has made sure that all the final details were done with care and on time. And the panels are producing more than I had hoped for during winter months! Smooth and organized!

The entire process with Solar Energy World was smooth and organized. Everyone involved - sales rep, regulatory paperwork handler, scheduler, installation project manager, and installers - were upmost professionals demonstrating courtesy and transparency. I'd heard horror stories about other solar installation companies being super disorganized after one signs on the dotted line, but the folks at Solar Energy World demonstrate the best of the industry.

Fantastic customer service and professionalism

From the beginning of the process, Ari made this seamless. We were hesitant because we didn’t want another monthly payment added to our finances. He took the time to explain how solar works and how we would actually be saving money by purchasing solar panels. He gave us several scenarios to review and designed the system. He was so patient with us as we asked so many questions. He promised the company would take care of everything from notifying the home owners association to getting the permits to the install. He was 100% correct. Everyone that we’ve needed to talk to has been friendly, helpful, and professional. He explained the referral program and we are definitely taking advantage of it! Great Solar Value, Professionally Installed and Supported

I've worked in the solar field for more than 10 years, including managing a solar company, and so I'm very familiar with solar. When we moved into our house I had too many other projects to work on, but I did get a quote from a solar installation company that didn't motivate me to move solar up on my list. That was until I asked Paul Skorochod of Solar Energy World for a quote. He visited one evening, gave us an estimated solar production for the size system we discussed, and the price. He knows all aspects of solar including solar panels, power electronics, installation, monitoring and sizing/economics. We worked out the contract (including my preference for a SolarEdge inverter because of roof/tree shading) within a week, and the installation was completed about 2 months later, as promised. The whole process from the initial visit to installation, inspection and commissioning was completely professional, and took very little of my time giving installers access to the property for the engineering and installation. My system has been operating flawlessly for just over 3 years, and it's produced about 12 MWh per year, as Paul and the SEW engineers predicted. Frankly, we have a below average house for solar because of the layout of our roofs and orientation, and the tall trees in the front and back yard. This is why I initially put solar on the back burner. However, with the installation our electric bill has been cut by well over half. With the federal and state solar incentives, this project made economic sense. It's nice to do something for the environment that turns out to also be one of our best investments.

I was originally against this project 100%. My husband essentially decided for us that we were going solar. To be fair, I knew nothing about it, & even today, couldn't tell you how it works. Just promises of savings & money back. I didn't believe it but we just received another check for over $200 ... We've received well over $500 for our solar credits since we went solar, plus our utility bill is WAY less than it used to be. I would definitely recommend Solar Energy World if you are considering solar. We worked with Jeff Nachman & he was great. They had to come back a few times for some minor fixes, but the process was seamless

I made the right choice!

I was hesitant to go solar for the past few years. Seemed there wasn't much monetary value in making the change. Solar Energy World was by far the best offer and made it a valuable investment. Jeff, the project manager, patiently went over every incentive available. He has been very responsive to my questions and is very knowledgeable about the solar industry! The operations and install teams were great. The panels look great on the home and are producing a ton of energy - even during the winter with the shorter days. I'm glad I chose Solar Energy World!

We’ve gone SOLAR!

We don’t see a lot of solar in The Villages around our neighborhood and so many of the systems we do see are horrible looking. They are crooked and poorly installed. That being said, our solar from Solar Energy World LOOKS AMAZING!! Our salesman Jeff walked us through every detail with pictures and comparisons which really made the process very easy to understand. The crew were courteous and cleaned up after themselves and we hardly knew they were there. If you live in The Villages and want to go solar, Solar Energy World is the way to go!! They are local and they don’t use subcontractors which was very important to us.

Excellent Product and Excellent Service

I did a lot of research before selecting a solar power system provider and it paid off. The system was installed about a year ago and we have not paid for electric since. I am so glad that we decided on Solar Energy World. They have a process that starts with requirements analysis and ends with throwing a switch which connects the system to our home and the grid. The entire process through sales, installation, and connection was seamless. The staff specifically were professional, friendly, and responded quickly and thoroughly to any questions or concerns that we raised. We were able to get a ground-mounted system which allows optimal placement with respect to the motion of the Sun. We also spec'ed the system to provide more power than the estimated requirements for our home, which is all electric, so that we can charge future electric vehicles. The additional power generated during the day goes back to the grid where it is metered and credited on our account. In the evening when it's not generating power, the excess put into the grid is pulled back and used during dark hours. Any excess that was produced and not used remains a credit on the account, and so on. At the end of every billing year any remaining credit on our account is paid back to us with a check. We received our first annual check in March of last year which included only a couple of months of credit. This year it will be a full 12 months. I never imagined that it was possible to completely generate all of our power needs and more!
