1-Star Review: Shine Solar LLC – Scammers Who Stole HVAC Units, Then Ghosted Customers My dealings with Shine Solar LLC were a complete disaster. This company stole heating and cooling units from another business and had the audacity to resell them to me at three times the market price. Not only is this outright theft, but it’s a blatant scam that preys on trusting customers. The problems didn’t stop there. When they “installed” the stolen units, the breaker wasn’t even configured correctly, rendering the system unsafe and unusable from day one. I tried repeatedly to contact their so-called “support” team, but they ignored every call, email, and plea for help. It was clear they had no intention of fixing their shoddy work or addressing their unethical behavior. When I finally escalated my complaints, I discovered they’d abandoned their business entirely, leaving customers like me holding the bag. Now I’m stuck with stolen, malfunctioning HVAC equipment I paid thousands for, and zero legal or financial recourse. This reeks of a deliberate scheme to defraud customers before disappearing. Avoid Shine Solar LLC at all costs. They’re thieves, liars, and con artists who destroyed any trust in their name. If they pop up under a new alias, run the other way—their greed and negligence ruined lives, and they deserve every bit of backlash they receive. An absolute disgrace.

I had questioned them about the size of the system they said we needed. They said that the other companies would "over size" the units in order to make more money. I believed them. Sure enough, the 5 KW system is too small. We are paying $155 per month for something that is NOT working and then have to pay our electric bill on top of that. Ends up we are paying more than twice as much for electricity NOW then before we had the solar panels installed! I told them the right thing would be for them to come remove the panels and everything else they did. Have NOT heard from them. I had asked them BEFORE EVER INSTALLING THESE PANELS, what about the electric company? Once the panels are up and running, I should have very low electric bills from the power company as long as I keep running electricity like I have been. This is what the guy told me, "You will never get another bill from your power company!" And he had also mentioned about getting more electricity from the panels than what I use and that would go back to the power company. So then, the power company has to pay ME for that electricity that went to them. Well... another lie. Never happened. Not even close. Again, the system they installed is too small. They wanted to come out here, install some more panels to make it go from 5 kW to 8 kW... which they should have put in in the first place! They had also promised me a generator. Nope. Never got that sent to me either. Also.. according to their app on my phone, the panels have never worked right. For instance, the ones on the ends are "working" but the ones in the middle are not. Or, the one on the end is working and some or one working several down from it but the ones in between are not. Why? Makes no sense. Talk.... all talk. No honesty. Open mouth.... lie.

Shine Solar Review – A Disappointing and Frustrating Experience I strongly regret choosing Shine Solar for my solar installation. What was supposed to be a straightforward process has turned into a nightmare due to their failure to obtain the necessary permits, as required by our contract. Their lack of professionalism, poor communication, and inability to follow through on commitments have left me frustrated and without a fully operational solar system. From the beginning, I was led to believe that Shine Solar would handle all aspects of the project, including securing the required permits. However, despite multiple attempts to get answers and resolution, I have been met with delays, excuses, and outright neglect. It has become clear that Shine Solar either lacks the ability or the willingness to fulfill their contractual obligations. Beyond the unacceptable delays, their customer service has been unresponsive and dismissive. Whenever I reach out for updates, I receive vague responses or promises that never materialize. I have given them ample opportunities to correct these issues, yet they continue to ignore their responsibilities. At this point, I have no choice but to pursue formal complaints with consumer protection agencies and legal action if necessary. This experience has been an absolute disaster, and I strongly advise others to steer clear of Shine Solar unless they want to deal with endless headaches, broken promises, and unfinished work. If Shine Solar ever decides to act with integrity and complete my project as agreed, I would be happy to update this review. But as of now, my experience has been nothing short of a scam-like ordeal, and I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable solar provider.

When I selected Shine Solar, I had a great experience with the installation. The sales person, Sam, was great and the install went in without a hitch. Fast forward 5 years later. My solar went down. I talked to Enphase, the installer, who seemed interested at the time but led me on for 2-3 weeks, with no resolution. I called Shine Solar, who told me they could have a technician there the next day. No one showed up. All I heard was crickets. I called Shine Solar back again. And again. And again. By the way, if you want to talk to a person, you won't if you call Shine Solar. Voicemail only and good luck at getting a response. Enphase finally called me back and scheduled a visit (still wondering if they will show up). Earliest appointment is 3 weeks from now. So my solar will have been out 6 weeks, my electric has tripled because now I'm paying my electric bill and my $318 bill for the solar installation. $65,000 and this is the support you get. Chose another company and save the heartache. Unbelievable!!

They will lie to you about several things and keep rescheduling things they mess up on! Also they do not support veterans at all and try to extort them when they are clearly at fault and will cancel your contract without your knowledge and send you a bill stating you owe them 5000.00 for doing nothing! They will take pictures within your house showing the layout of your home and some of your personal property without your consent. They will lie to you in front of your face. The manager is hostile when he leaves a message because you are at work or suffer from ptsd! If I could give them negative stats I most definitely would! NEVER TRUST THEM BECAUSE ALL THEY DO IS LIE!

We have been very satisfied with Shine Solar company. Totally recommend this company if you are looking for solar and HVAC. The installation was done professionally throughout both of our installments. Our salesman answered all our questions concerning both installments. He was very detailed in the process and when we had questions, he answered promptly. We never felt pressured into our purchase. HVAC team was prompt, professional and very patient with our questions. Our house stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter months. Solar team did an excellent job setting up our solar. We were kept informed through the entire process. I recently purchased solar through Shine Solar. They were referred to me by Entergy of Arkansas. It was a several month process, but Shine Solar inform me of that. They took care of all the footwork needed with permitting and everything with my power company. I do believe my system was slightly under engineered from what information I gave them from my utility bills. The installation team did a phenomenal job on the install. They were in and out in half a day. Did a very neat, clean professional job. I’m very pleased with it. I was a little disappointed, though when I received a $200 net metering administrative fee by Entergy of Arkansas on my electric bill. Hopefully the solar will pay off in the long run

Shine Solar kept everything on track and made sure we knew where they were in the process for getting the installation planned, installed, and activated. The installation was done with professionalism and all areas were cleaned of any debris caused by the installation. All was set for the inspections and they went well. The system was activated and immediately started showing the generation of power back to our utility company. We have received our first bill and our cost is over half what we paid the previous month. Thank you Shine Solar for you support through this whole process and in making sure through proper planning we have installed what our household needs to make a difference in our electrical costs.

We had only really talked about solar and just wanted to see what the price tag would be. Shine Solar set up a time convenient for us and came up with a rough draft of where panels could go. We provided our usage history for the previous year and they built us a system that would produce more electricity than we use. Throughout the process everything was well communicated. They have engineers who draw up the design and do all the talking and paperwork with your electric company. Install was smooth, no problems, cleaned up the work area when they were done. They’ve been able to answer any questions we have had and we recommend them to anyone that will listen!

Process was super easy. You just have to say yes!! They take care of everything from best location, loan, set up, and training you on how to keep up with production/consumption. The crew setting up was nice and friendly and fast! They do a zoom call after it’s all set up to show you exactly how to monitor everything.

I won my solar panels through a contest from Shine Solar in conjunction with KFSM Channel 5. Shine Solar was very friendly and considerate, explaining all my options. I was given upgrade options but never felt pressured to take them. I was kept apprised of the process and progress all through the installation and switch over. Installation was done in one day. I was impressed with the efficiency of the installers and am very pleased with the results. I recommend Shine Solar for their knowledge, professionalism, and consideration throughout the entire process.

Shine Solar the entire team were great and the panels they are amazing, we had Solar Panels while living in Germany, so we know how good they are. So going with Shine Solar was really a good move for us, you hear the horror stories about people getting panels and then they don’t hear from that company again. Well with Shine its not like that you will always be able to get someone on the phone, email or even a text message. So, I not only give Shine Solar 5 Stars, but I give it to all the people behind Shine Solar that make it all happen for individuals like me. We live in Missouri and there was not company even close to being compared to Shine so that’s why we went with them.

Shine Solar has been great. Justin Collins and his team walked me step by step through the whole process. They always made sure I was fully comfortable and knowledgeable with every aspect. The installation of the system went smooth. The only hiccup came with the utility company delaying the new meter install past the date my first bill was due. But even though it was the utility companies fault, Shine Solar covered the first payment without me even asking. After the system went live they even had a follow-up meeting a few weeks later to make sure everything went as I expected. I couldn't have asked for a better and easier install. I have already sent a recommendation to a friend I love it so much. I would highly recommend anyone even curious about solar to contact Shine Solar as they answered all of my questions.

Install went quickly. Was an excellent crew. They worked as a seasoned team. They were very friendly and polite. All my questions were answered. The system works better than expected. The monitoring app is a great way to see how well the system performs and is much appreciated.

Overall, I'm happy I chose to go solar. The process was somewhat of an issue but at the end of the day, 90% of my issues have been addressed. I had HVAC installed by Shine as well and that was a nightmare. House ended up with three separate holes, one in the utility room, one in my ceiling and an awful hole in the side of my house from moving the AC drain. The wall and ceiling holes have been addressed but the siding hole with a bulb of expand foam sticking out is ALWAYS avoided in conversation. I still want that fixed! My local area also has rebates on HVAC but to get the proper documentation was horrible too. You're given 90 days to get the proper documentation and I was FINALLY able to submit. I will be missing out on the large chunk of rebate because a Manual J was not documented at install and since Shine has restructured their HVAC team, they can't do the Manual J testing and documentation. It would take a 3rd party to do it which is expensive and would take too long to meet the deadline. Goodbye $400... Long story short, good luck if you are banking on rebates that aren't included in the tax incentive program. I am nervous as hell about that process come tax season... Solar install should get 5 stars. Other than messing up my gutters I paid $120 to repair.

Shine solar has been wonderful! They answered all of our questions at the beginning, were very patient with us, kept us in the loop as the process went on, and even replaced our HVAC as well and that was done expertly and wonderfully as well. Highly recommend these guys for honest, transparent, competitive work and a caring team.

I had the best experience with Shine. Everyone that I spoke to and worked with was absolutely amazing. They were very prompt in answering my questions when I would have some. They made every simple from the very start all the way up to installation. If I had to pick one part of the process that stood out and deserves more than 5 stars, it would be the installation crew. They deserve at least 10 stars. All of the guys were very professional. The main thing that sticks out in my mind is how they treated the situation with my mother being on oxygen while the power had to be turned off for a bit. They were very diligent in getting on top of getting the electric turned back on once they were done with that part of it. They had to make a few phone calls to the electric company to get it turned back on. Thank you for taking that extra care to make sure that my mom was taken care of. That will always mean the most to me.

High pressure sales will tell you they should be able to do anything you want to get you to sign the contract that has no protections for the customer if they do not deliver what you want. Then once you get passed the 3 days you have to cancel, they will give you song and dance till eventually they tell you they can't do what you asked for, but hey your locked into the contract and if you don't take what we want to give you, you'll have to pay 10% of the contract price and get nothing. Which is the route I took as it ended up being cheaper to pay them the 10% and hire a different solar vender. It was all cheaper in the end. Also, they Charge almost a 22% service fee up front on loans in addition to the 8-9% interest rate you'll have to pay over the life of your loan. Basically, they are using the government tax credit to subsidize their lending group.

Was a horrible experience from the high pressure sales to the sloppy, overly expensive insulation, to the installation of the panels (and the damage to our new roof, which they refused to take responsibility for!). Panels have been "down" more than they have worked and now to fix THEIR PROBLEM THEY WANT TO CHARGE US! If you are looking for solar panels, pass this RIPP OFF scam on by. Customer service is non existent and what little help you get ( if you can get any) doesn't know their back side from a hole in the ground! About as useful as screen doors on a submarine!

The whole experience was excelent. All the staff I came in contact with were professional and knowledgable and thurogh. Any issues that might come up they corrected right away. This was a very pleasurable experience and not one person that came out complained about anything they needed to do.

Got our first full month's electric bill since installing solar panels. $10.45 and that was just a normal customer charge. In actual usage we now have a credit with the electric company. Shine Solar has been fantastic to work with throughout the process. From original contact through installation and finally switching on the panels they have stayed in touch on a regular basis, and we are now seeing the fruits of that working relationship.

Company is horrible….the installers burned up my laptop with power surges and fell through attic access…..they left my dryer vent venting under the house causing a fire hazard….left 100’s of messages to no avail…..they finally showed up to fix the dryer vent after 14 months….no customer service….owe me for a laptop….horrible company
