Great value, decent experience

Great initial experience with great prices, but a general lack of proactive communication plagued the process. Renu seems to be a little short staffed. Some major problems (roof leak and Duke rebate problems) were able to be worked out satisfactorily. Early production results seem promising.

Renu has been excellent to work with. From initial estimate through installation Renu has been helpful and kept us up to date and informed about each step of the process. Once we signed our contract they were able to promptly schedule installation, and installation was completed quickly, safely, and professionally.

12kW Ground Array Project Started August 2019

We chose RENU based on available reviews at that time and we were impressed with our salesperson who was the most professional of the five different company representatives we interviewed. Price was also a factor.

Disappointed with Renu in making sure job was completed on time!

I am sorry to say that so far Renu has not lived up to expectations that they raised! I was told that we would be producing power within 4 weeks of agreeing to start the process. Well, the installation was complete and the county inspector checked it on October 4th and we finally started producing power on December 2nd! That is at least 10 weeks from start to finish when they promised 4! It would not have been touched if I had not called repeatedly and then finally called Duke on two occasions to followup on getting my "special" meter. Neither Renu nor Duke were willing to take responsibility of the lost production. I blame Renu since they should have been on top of this to be sure it was completed. Now it is producing only about 15 KW on the best days when we were expecting somewhere around 25 KW. Not sure if that is due to angle of the sun or whether something is wrong, but no one is willing to take responsibility and come check it out.

Great experience - Not pushy

Renu was very helpful throughout the entire process of having a system designed, installed, and financed. They were by far the best quote that I received as well. They listened to my requests for straight flat rate financing to make apples-to-apples comparisons easy. Our goal was a "net zero" system and so far it looks like they nailed it.We had 38 panels installed on our house that went live in June and I have not had a power bill since. Duke Energy still charges ~$15 /mo for connection fees but actual power consumption has been zero and we are banking credits towards the leaner months when power generation may be less than consumption. We are very pleased and I would recommend Renu to anyone.

Solar Panels Installation

Renu Energy Solutions provided the materials and installed an 8.4 kW array on my garage. Their installation crew did an excellent job, from ensuring the standoffs on the roof were properly secure and leak-proof, that rails and panels were correctly attached, and finally the system was attached to the inverter on the side of the building. Their crew’s work could not have been better. But bureaucratic screwups in Renu’s front office delayed power delivery to the grid by seven weeks.

great company to do business with

The people at Renu were very pleasant throughout the whole install process. Customer service was second to none when it came to answering my questions and guiding me through the process. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because the original consultant apparently miscalculated the size of the system I would need. The system I have is currently inadequate to take care of all of my energy needs. I still have a power bill and that was not what I had in mind.

Great work, good product...

I am very pleased with the response and high quality work that Renu did! The panel are the best in the industry!!!!!! I am already seeing the great results in my Duke bill!!!!!

I waited 6 months to write this review just to make sure promises and expectations were achieved. I couldn't be happier! My initial contact and meetings with Cooper were strait forward and to the point with no grandiose promises. The proposal was so good we did two systems. Christina's help and knowledge with all the applications and processes was outstanding. She and the Renu team took care of everything! Their knowledge of the Duke and Federal rebates and how to get them was the biggest reason I went with them on this project and they did not disappoint. It was a very easy process and everything has come through as expected. There was some additional work and upgrades that needed to be made at our second installation and Renu contacted and handled all the details with the sub contractor for me which was a tremendous help. Six months later both systems are performing above the projections and we couldn't be happier!!!

Great Experience

Renu Energy Solutions is amazing! From the onset, Bill, the solar consultant, was thorough and forthright in his presentation regarding solar energy. In addition, he presented us with a customized proposal that was clear and concise. Once we decided to go solar and with Renu, Hannah, the operations manager, guided us through the preliminaries, handling of permits, contacting the HOA, etc. Routinely, she kept us informed of the progress of installation. Once everything was in place, the field installers arrived within two days. Both the electrical team and the roof top crew were skilled, hard-working, focused, and professional. Zach, the team leader, walked us through the installation process and answered any questions we had. Our experience with Renu Energy Solutions was and continues to be phenomenal. Renu does quality work and the company has cultivated a relationship with us, that will last for many years to come. We highly recommend Renu!!!

Professional to the max

In all my experience with Renu so far, and we are not completed yet, the staff and installers from Renu have been incredibly professional and courteous. I have great confidence that I am in good hands and getting the best system money can buy at the right price.

Instillation of Roof Solar System

Renu Energy Solutions is a great company to work with, from the sales people all the way through instillation to follow up after installed. The sales people and designers worked with me to design a system that fit my needs. The two crews that came out to install were very neat with their work and courteous, explaining all phases of the instillation. This company gives you customer care and service. Took a while, but now working well

Responsive sales team. They did take time to listen to my needs and addressed them. The final pre installation layout was suboptimal fit on roof but head installer was excellent to work with in reconfiguring a layout I am pleased with! My system has LG Battery back up and complex installation took multiple visits and 2 months for consumption meter to properly measure--but panels were producing properly the whole time so inconvenient but not critical. It's now working great

Great service!

I called Renu Energy Solutions and have been very impressed with their service. They have been on top of the install from the beginning. My solar roof is already installed and am only waiting for the county inspection and to turn it on. A very good experience and they have been moving along very fast. They have taken care of everything so far and am looking forward to turning on this system soon.

Decent, but not quite perfect...

I had a 31 panel array setup on my roof and for the most part, I'm happy with it. However, there are two things that I'd like to point out about my experience with this company. 1) They were extremely quick in coming out to provide an estimate, secure financing, and install the system. However, after the system was installed, it was not functioning. After two weeks of silence in reply to multiple emails of concern I sent about this, I finally wrote a fairly 'forward' email and included everyone at their office on it. I got multiple apologies after that and a giftcard in the mail. A few days later, the system was finally operating and producing power. This was a little sketchy to me. 2) Depending on who you ask at Renu (salesperson, customer relations specialist, installer, etc.) about the cash rebate for renewables from Duke, you'll get different answers. My system was installed about two months ago and initially I was told I'd get the rebate, it just may take some time. I followed up recently with Emma who is their Customer Relations person and she told me I have a "less than 10% chance of getting that rebate." This, too, was a little sketchy to me because it is a difference of $6,000.

Best Solar Company in the Carolinas!

Getting a Solar Electric System on my home has been a decade long desire of mine. I know what the benefits of having a system on my house are, but never felt comfortable with the companies I have spoken to. With Renu it was different. From day one the experience has been fantastic. I have been treated like family and taken care of every step of the way. The sales rep that sold me the system, was very patient, knowledgeable, and truthful with me through out the in home visit. The office team has been very supportive, communicating each step of the process. The field teams are great and very knowledgeable both on the roof and the electrical installations. It is a pleasure to work with such a great team of professionals that truly care about renewable energy and their customers. I am very happy that I decided to go with RENU!

Best experience

The company from top to bottom was honestly amazing. Being a business owner myself I was very pleased the way everything went. Our salesman never put pressure on us and he made sure we were getting a plan that first us not just filling my roof with panels. He made it seem like we were is first priority and it wasnt about his sale but making us happy. He also took interest in getting to know me personally so I enjoyed his conversation. After he left I met with a few other companies that I felt werent as transparent as Bill and only cared about themself. We got a ground mount and had no drilling or cement so it was a very smooth install and the guys were great. Operations worked with York electric and I didnt have to do anything. It was truly a turn key operation as Bill promised. There were follow up and welcome calls as well which made me very happy because it wasnt a sign the contract and done deal like most companies. There was no problems and the process was as smooth as could be, if I had to do the process again I would hesitate to go with renu again.

Exactly as promised.

Renu did a great job explaining how solar could work for me and an even better job over-delivering on their promises. The process was transparent the whole way through and communication was consistent. After looking at the other options it was clear that Renu's approach is simply straightforward and honest. My representative recommended a 6.6 kW system with Q Cells, a SolarEdge inverter and a Tesla Powerwall for battery storage given than I'm with an above load utility. I couldn't be happier with the timeline, the professionalism, or the ease of a turnkey installation.
