Predatory company. Don't fall for the presentation, your eyes and ears are not deceiving you. They ARE charging you almost twice the price of other companies because you are not paying upfront.

Bad service

Me and my daughter took advantage of the service last year, yesterday they did my installation and everything is going well so far, but my daughter had problems with the installers that the solar service contracted, she spent more than 6 hours without doing anything on the roof and they were trying to make a design change with the company because they spent less work in the end, my daughter did not authorize the change and neither did the company because they left without doing anything, we have also been requesting the engineering design that Palmeto does according to the sunset for 2 weeks to guarantee the greatest time of sunlight which is supposed to be sent before the installation and no response has been received we have not communicated with the project coordinator who seems to turn a deaf ear also with the customer success of the solar program and neither no response has been received, to this day we are still waiting for the document

Get you to sign the contract then vanish after! Stay away!

Poor customer service - they'll tell you everything to get you to sign the contract then vanish when you have questions after. My rep, Damir, was great up until I signed the contract. I got my solar panels installed on December 2nd 2021. It's now March 10th, 2022 and I'M GETTING BILLED FOR THE PANELS PLUS MY ELECTRIC BILL. Solar panels aren't working yet. I try reaching out to my rep. He doesn't respond. Their knowledge of the tax credit is incredibly poor as well. That was a pain to get sorted out. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PALMETTO SOLAR!!!!

Had the solar panels installed last June. It failed town inspection. The company is still taking money out of my account and the panels are not working. Garrett 203 848 5133 my sales person said he was done trying to help....... I want to the panels off my roof asap. Worst company I have ever dealt with.

Use a different company

I had a lot of issues with getting my system installed. Starting from quality of the installation was poor. The team that arrived was smoking on my property and pretty sure drinking alcohol. They installed the line to the system in the middle of the side of my house. So there was a giant silver rod running from the ground to my roof (three story house). They didn't even bother to run it ALONG the edge of the house to hide it. I had to ask them to move the pipe, and they complained about having to do more work and use more piping to hid it that way. They finally did move it and left all the holes in my siding and didn't fix it despite promising that they would. After multiple complaints of this, they filled the holes but did a very sloppy job. I reached out to them multiple times to complain of this, and no matter who I talked to, they didn't care because I had already signed on and the loan was taken out. They have the worse communication after you sign your name away. A few months ago, someone from their company was doing customer reviews and called me and I retold them everything that happened. They told me all the good stuff like they would do something about it and for sure reach out to me. Even sent me an email saying this and then NEVER heard back from them. I asked for reimbursement given the poor quality of installation and communication, and never heard back shortly after the installation either. I have the biggest regret using this company. I am all for solar energy but DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Still waiting for them to turn it on

About to make my 3rd payment and it’s not even on. Keep getting the runaround that it’s not on their end but they don’t communicate with their counterpart at SRP to get the job done. Still waiting on my refund from my last payment as well which was suppose to be sent out almost a month ago. The lack of communication is ridiculous! I regret using this company!!!

DO NOT TRUST THEM

This company is the biggest scam company ever! Do not trust them! When they show up at your door, do NOT give them a second of your time. They told us they would monitor our electricity usage over the next 6 months and give us a system that offsets our electricity usage by 90%. After running tests, the offset is barely at 50%. When we confronted the sales rep, he told us that if we want to get to 90%, we need to buy more panels. Which is ridiculous, because if they gave us a system that offsets to 90% to begin with, why would we have to buy more panels? Even the Palmetto customer care said something different. They told us we can't buy more panels for our house because our house has no more areas to put more. They also said we have to wait for a whole year to see that 90% offset, which was never told to us in the beginning before getting the panels and we would have never gotten them if that were the case. To make matters worse, their sales rep gave us a promise to pay the first 6 months as a promotion to sign us on. We have not received a dime. We have documentation and proof of this if anyone wants to see it before moving forward with this company. Also, we were promised $14,000 as a tax credit for getting the panels when we file our income taxes but based on everything that has happened thus far and reading other comments of people who didn't get it, I don't trust this either. Whatever incentive this company says they will give, do NOT trust them. Don't say I didn't warn you. What a world we live in, when a company can just lie to it's customers and they not actively seek out to try to fix it. Update: Their communication is also extremely terrible and noone has reached out to us for days after several email attempts to their customer help line. There is noone working on this with us as of yet and we will update this review when things get resolved. Unacceptable

Our solar panels were installed in October of 2020. It is now Feb. 2021, and they are still not turned on. I have made 2 payments for the panels, and been reimbursed for one. This all is taking way too much time, and I'm not informed of anything unless I ask.

Warranty Service is terrible.

We chose Palmetto Solar because of reviews of the panels they used and they were a local company.

Absolutely TERRIBLE Customer Service and STILL NO RESOLUTION

absolute worst service i have ever encountered. I have warped panels and they want to charge me to come look. they don't stand behind anything obviously. all of their representatives have failed to even get a service visit scheduled. we have a 12.6kw system and I still pay 200 in power plus 300 in solar panel financing every month. we have not added new people or appliances....in fact we have done things to improve energy efficiency. panels are improperly braced and warping on my installation. they took a 5 min look at production data and claim all is fine. obviously its not fine or my production vs consumption would show that. THIS IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED FOR A 50K INVESTMENT. 4 MONTHS TO GET A SERVICE CALL IS UNACCEPTABLE IN ANY INDUSTRY. see pictures of visibly warped panel. ALSO THIS COMPANY HAS EMPLOYEES LEAVING REVIEWS TO BOOST THEIR GOOGLE RATINGS. THIS SHOULD SHOW YOU THEIR BUSINESS ETHICS. prime example is Andrew C. and Chris their CEO.

Solar Panels, lack of customer information.

In the way they explain to customers, to sell you the product, 99% of people think that when they do the taxes at the end of the year, the government will return 30% or 26% of the total cost of the panels and With that money in hand (money that you will never see, because what they give you is a tax credit) you will pay it to the bank that made the loan, so that after a year; you don't have to pay more than what you were paying the electricity company. In short, if you are self-employed, you will never have the money when you do the taxes to pay the bank the amount they ask you for before the year (which they never tell you) and if you do the taxes with w2, the money that the government could give you back, when you do the taxes, if it gives you something back, I don't think you want to use them to pay for solar panels.

Bamboozled

They went house to house in our neighborhood promoting how great this service would be. My experience: They installed fine, but they lied to me and my husbands face to get the sale. When asked if this will go on our credit, his reply was, "no this is just a inquiry. This is not like a loan for a car or house, this has no affect on your credit." Well my husband now have a $54,000 debt for 20 years sitting on his credit that we need to pay off or we will be paying double that amount in 20 years. Their response is sorry for the poor communication. So I have made it my life mission to troll them by letting everyone else know that you will end up paying more than what you're paying to your utility company because now you are paying a loan of more than $300 a month to them, and you are still paying money to the utility company (at least $60 a month). This you have to commit to at least for 20 years, if you don't pay it off earlier. If you can't afford to pay it off earlier, you would have paid double the amount to the finance company with the interest. This is a warning to all potential buyers, I wish someone had told me; so I will warn others so they won't have to go through what I am currently going through.

Poor management after installation

My home was hit by a tornado Feb 7 2017. Palmetto in Charleston, South Carolina is the owner of the solar panel for my home. My roof was damage and I need a new one installed. Before this can happen, Palmetto need to remove the solar panels. I have contacted them 19 times and they have given me (we can't give you a date for our team to come out and remove the solar panels). If anyone have been in a natural disaster, you know how dramatic that experience is. This company palmetto solar I would not recommend them to any one. I don't want to bash all palmetto solar. Just the one zip 29403. Think about it would you want to be treated this way.
