Shady! Liars!
Install was good- working fine for two years without an issue. Spend about $13/month and in summer almost $0. Two weeks ago said my monitoring system was down, I would have to pay a hefty fee to have a technician come out and “access” and reconnect-what a bunch of liars-this after care support has horrible follow-through they can barely speak English and take 48 hours minimum to reply. I was worried about getting scammed by this venture into solar panels, and feel like it’s coming true. Somehow they need to be held accountable!

The salesman lied and was evasive
I told the salesman, in no uncertain terms, that I would not agreee to be on auto-pay. He never told me it was required, he never told me it was part of a contract, he never told me that not being on auto-pay would cost me an extra $15 per month. That's $4,500 dollars over the 25 year term of the contract, or $180 per year. That would have seriously impacted my decision on whether or not to agree to have these panels attached to my house. He was more concerned with making the sale and getting his bonus to go on a nice vacation to Jamaica than with being honest open about anything. He assured me that he would "be with me every step of the way", but now he is nowhere to be found. He has been to Jamaica and back, but he won't respond to my emails, and I have a lot of questions about all of this. I would not listen to any solar salesperson if I were you. They are deceptive self serving liars.

After sales, support ends
We purchased our system from Palmetto in 2019. Like many others we were the ones who were "boots on the ground" getting the system up and running via phone calls and emails. We are now in 2022, and while we are happy to have solar, we are not happy with the lack of support we are receiving. We were told in June/July of 2022 we would be receiving a tech visit because our inverter needed to be upgraded. We are still trying to make that happen. We are trying to replace our roof and need our panels removed and then replaced. We have a ticket submitted but no movement. Our original sales person no longer works with Palmetto. We have asked for all copies of any contracts that we have because we also need to know how long we under contract with Palmetto and what we are under contract for as well as how to get the service we need.

Broken promise
I notified Palmetto back in early April that my system wasn’t reporting and knew it was because of 3G cellular shut down. I finally received this email with their unfulfilled promise. Since then, I have reached out on three separate occasions and now they don’t respond. Eli Unker (Palmetto) May 5, 2022, 11:13 GMT-5 Michael, Apologies for the delay in response. We are aware of the customers that are affected by the 3G shutdown and are actively working to upgrade those customer as quickly as we can. As far as the reason why they were installed as only 3G capable I do not have the answers but Palmetto is working to resolve this at no costs to the customer and we will be in touch to get you scheduled for the update as soon as we can. Thank you, Eli Unker Services Project Coordinator | Palmetto Solar

Four months without solar production
Our system is 3.5 years old. 20 solar panels= $20,000. On November 5, 2021, we were notified of a failure in the solar production and it was being investigated. About 2 weeks later we were told the inverter needed to be replaced. The new inverter would be sent to us and Solaredge would contact us and set a date to replace it. Great news, right? NO! We never got the inverter until after Xmas but we were close to back on line. I called Solaredge and arranged a date. Good news? NO. They could not come until Jan 26. Almost 3 months with no production. The tech came and replaced it. I noticed his license plate was from Fla. We live in PA. I then began wondering whether that distance was the reason for the delay. He told us it would be on line within 48 hours. I called Solar Edge and they said the panels had to be snow free. Makes sense to me. On 2/9/22 and they put us back on line but it may take 48 hours to provide data. I placed my first phone call to Palmetto Solar on 2/11, spoke to Adriana,* and discussed why we had not solar production yet. Did the "turn off inverter and put back on". The small lights that indicate it is transmitting are on so it "should be communicating" Not solved other than wait and check after the weekend. I called on 2/15, same drill: turn it off then back on". (Have done that so often I could do it with my eyes closed.) Was told they would "put in a ticket". On 2/16, Palmetto called back (FIRST TIME they called us.) But again "turn off and back on''. On 2/17, spoke to Miguel. He said we were producing but it was not showing the data. On 2/22/22, I called again. They then said that I would have to contact "after market service" and gave me an email.(We will have to pay for that. App said $300 depending on location. I hope they don't mean PA. They sold us this system knowing where we lived.) We are now approaching 4 months of no service!!! *All the initial contacts have been patient and kind. But I should not have to make continual phone calls and instructed to do the same thing. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results".
