Great company

I recently had solar panels put in by NY State Solar. The salesman, Franklin Cusma, explained everything to us in terms that we could understand and was very patient in answering all our questions. He was also always available by text. The installation was done in less time than they said it would take and the installers were all very professional and did a clean, thorough job. Looking forward to helping the environment through a great company.

Their mistake = your problem

Use someone else with more principal and integrity for correcting their mistakes. I don’t like posting negative reviews but my decision to go Solar was such a regrettable one. Possibly of the worst projects I’ve ever proceeded with and at least in my case not a good financial decision even with all of the subsidies and tax breaks. It was ultimately made off of bad information provided and the situation wasn’t ever truly corrected. Some compensation was given to lighten the burden but otherwise weak attempts to convince me why I should be happy with the terms that I got stuck with that wasn’t what I was told when I decided to proceed. I don’t believe it was deliberate but the bottom line is bad info was given and the end result was a bait and switch. Plenty of other issues as well once the green light was officially given. Many were minor and they were admittedly issues that I probably would have overlooked and just dealt with if it weren’t for some of the bigger problems. Once there’s major negativity it’s hard to overlook though and just feels like nothing is going right. To be fair and highlight the positive on the project their work was clean otherwise and folks were primarily pleasant to deal with but getting stuck with a project that I wouldn’t have moved forward with had I been given proper information from the start is hard to get passed.

Happy with Install Process and Results

I decided to go Solar at the end of 2021. 22 Panels were installed in early 2022, after all permits were acquired. First month up and running was March. Fast forward to my June PSEG bill: generated more electric than used. Electric bill portion of my bill was $17! The rest was the financing of the panels, which we opted to do when we ran the numbers. We were very satisfied with our experience with New York Solar Franklin explained exactly how the project would work. Installers were professional and left the work area spotless. We received our our check from government as promised. It didn’t cost us any money.

Excellent process and communication

We have been happy and impressed with the entire process so far. We are not yet connected but all work is complete. Especially happy with the efforts of salesman Milan Milosevic. Very professional and courteous. The install crew was very timely neat and through. We would be happy to refer to others.

I am so glad to write this review, as I went through couple of solar companies, I finally choose NYSS and I am sure that this was the right one . Joseph Hawes did an amazing job by explaining all the concerns and never disappoints me to answer all my questions. Everyone from the company from inspection, installation till the last handyman who came to fix my wall in the basement did and awesome job.Now I can watch the performance of the panels in my phone. Honest, professional, and fantastic work!

I have always been skeptical of solar companies but I was approached by Franklin Cusma, NY State Solar salesman, who was upfront and honest from the get go. I stressed to him my concerns and he was extremely versed in explaining step by step how the whole process works. He answered my text messages, calls, and emails right away and even came to my house to go over all the paperwork. After a few days we had the ball rolling and it was an extremely smooth process. I even got a few incentives (nest thermostats and a new roof) that allowed me to truly say yes to this company. The installation took one day and the panels look great. The back of my roof faces the south and the sun is energizing the panels. If you were skeptical like me, then give Franklin a call and he will give you his honest opinion if the solar panels would be beneficial to your cost of living and provide enough energy to even consider getting them. Thank you Franklin, and thank you NY State Solar!

Very professional and thorough

I had my panels installed 3 weeks ago now and I couldn't be happier with the service..Zachary and his team did what they say and said what they did..Everything was explained in detail with no surprises. From start to finish this company made the process seamless and simple.

Glad I made the switch to solar

I was very reluctant to do solar panels, mostly due to the financial commitment. Without any pressure from Alex Lubin, he was very courteous and helpful. He answered many of my extremely details, specific, and probably neurotic questions I had, no matter what time it was. The estimated savings and production was almost exact, within 5%. Between the fed and state rebates and the relative short amount of time to get the install done (6 months from consulting to final install for inspection), Everything worked out better than I expected. My summer monthly bill dropped by over 50% (south facing roof with no trees in the backyard) and I am glad I kept an open mind and converted

Excellent company

I was interested in solar but didn’t think it was affordable any more. I saw my neighbor getting solar panels installed by NY State Solar and I reached out to them for more info. I met with Alex Lubin and was convinced to make the move once he explained the cost structure and the ease of the process. Happy that I made the decision.

Great program where savings can be realized in short term.

This is a genuinely good company to the core. I’m so glad we gave them a chance to explain all the benefits of their solar program. There just wasn’t any good reason to not go with this program. Chris Wen is also a genuinely nice guy and I never felt like he was a salesman but just a friend looking out for my best interests throughout the entire process. The installers were very professional and every visual detail looks spot on. Right off the bat, that gave me confidence the system would perform to its spec for a long time. We just had our system turned on today and I started monitoring our solar production through an app. Panels are producing above their rating even with some overcast. So far, everything that was promised has been beyond my expectations. I couldn’t be happier.

Amazing!

NY State Solar was incredible! The representative that I dealt with, Alex, was wonderful. He's really good about keeping you updated with everything that is going along and easily helps you through the process in terms of paperwork. Had a little bit of a delay getting them installed due to Covid but they made the transition seamless once installation was able to go underway. Highly recommend them!

6 months now and we couldn’t be happier with Solar. From start to finish Alex Lubin and NYSS we’re professional, courteous and communicative. NYSS did all our applications & paperwork. Hytech Solar did our physical install at the end of January. Besides the hardware on your roof the system comes with a fantastic online service, Enlighten by Enphase which enables you to monitor your system. Once you sign up you can view usage and solar collection data!! A very powerful tool. Hopefully more people go solar and if you do i would highly recommend New York State Solar.

Super Smooth Process

Working with Alex Lubin and the team has been a pleasure. Never thought I’d go solar, but it happened. They held my hand throughout the whole process, and it has been super smooth. The installers were excellent and took a lot of care during the installation. This whole thing has been a great experience, and I highly recommend them.

Simple and Easy No Costs Out of Pocket

I was always interested in solar but the costs were to high to have it installed but thanks to NY Solar I didn’t have to lay out any money and will save money in years to come.
