Installation of solar panels went fantastic. Our service rep, Jessica, was great and truly professional. She responded to any inquiries that we had very quickly. The crew that did, the installation was diligent, hard-working, and very accommodating.

My experience with New York State Solar was incredible, second to none especially with Douglas Huron. He took the time and came to my home according to my schedule and went over every detail with me and my wife and showed us how beneficial it was to go solar. From his professionalism, his relatability and knowledge it was a no brainer to sign up. He was never pushy and gave us the time to decide if this was truly right for us. Everything went just as he said, from the roof work up until the panel install was smooth, neat, well done and by good quality workers. PSEG bill cut by $600+ instantly

Our home was recently built so my wife and I had some reservations about not getting solar. Before the kids, our electric bills were around $150. Ten years later they ballooned to well over $600 a month-and that was on a budget (yes we have a pool). Realizing we had to do something we called the highest rated solar installer in NYS, NY State Solar. Throughout the process, our facilitator, Ben Prasert, went above and beyond making everything seamless. Ben was able to hide the panels in such a way that it didn’t take away from the beauty of the home while maintaining an effective collection of solar energy. He came up with multiple designs and ideas to best meet our (many) needs. The entire process, including installation took two months and we couldn’t be more happier with the results. My family gives NY State Solar our highest recommendation.

So happy I choose this company

I had my solar panels installed today. The crew that came said they would be here at 8 a.m. and showed up exactly on time. They were all very polite and very efficient. From start to finish took about 4 1/2 hours. Cleaned up everything and explained the whole system to my husband and I. Jessica was our salesperson. She was amazing. Explained the entire process to us step by step. Not pushy at all and gave us time to make up our minds. Answered all my crazy texts because I was a little worried about transitioning to solar. What can I say she is just awesome. I recommend this company 100% and now I am looking forward to saving money.

This experience has been so pleasant and easy thanks to Jessica Knesel and the team of installers and inspectors and everyone else connected to the installation of our new solar panels. From the minute we met with Jessica, who answered all our questions, which were many, to the day the installers came and did a wonderful, professional job, I found everyone to be upfront and honest about everything. The deal was too good to be true but it was and we’re more than thrilled with every facet of this endeavor. I am recommending Jessica and this company to everyone I know. HI all, I recently went with NYSS to provide my solar “needs”. I would like to first , after reading the reviews from the other homeowners , comment on "my" experience.I would like to add my feedback here. Sales man: Jamie Scott was my salesman. Yes agreed ,nice and professional. However when the bill of the project is upwards of 60000, that's their job. My only concern is that AFTER contract signing he was very difficult to get a hold of and he didn't answer any of questions correctl. Price points: With my home, specifically, i was paying PSEG balanced billing of 186. Im paying Greensky with rebates 170. I have to pay PSEG 19 dollars for using the grid. I do not think they are competitive whatsoever. Clients please read your contract. They upcharged me a lumpsum of 20000 and labeled the section “overhead”. I was given an email stating some of the costs are proprietary and he is unable to disclose. Loan I did go with a loan. Greensky gave me a 5 year mortgage on the loan, others use 20 years. Inspection and Installation 1. I think the employees of NYSS are your average contractors. Although professional and were clean. 2. The outcome: 2 crooked panels, and one malfunctioning, nonoperating panel due to a 100 dollar plug called an optimizer. Yes they fixed the crooked panel. The optimizer not fixed due to manufacturing defects... I notified the team right away. Movement is slow as with anything you buy now post covid. A case was opened. I have offered to help expedite the case and speak with the manufacturer, rather I was asked to step down to minimize confusion. Later: I was given an update they are unable to service my request because of my "poor behaviour". At this time , they have chosen not to service my manufacturing defect needs going forward. Yes they fixed the crooked panel. The optimizer is not fixed due to manufacturing defects... Maintenance/Warranty: I can’t comment on this at this time, I did receive an email stating and I quote “warranty obligation to you is strictly regarding our workmanship warranty as defined in the agreement. The manufacturers 25 year warranties were assigned to you as the system owner. We have no obligation to perform manufacturer warranty work like this, we are only obligated to correct workmanship defects as defined and limited by the applicable section of the contract between us, which you should reference for full details. We do it because it’s typically easier for the customer and us but we are not obligated to. Note their usual manual states to call them with any support issues. At the end of the day. I have a malfunctional panel and support challenges to correct the faulty equipment along with a big loan from a bank. It's a little scary should something worse happen and the racks are loose, the inverter goes out or I have roof damage. I don't think it's easy to find contractors to come back and fix the damaged products at this point. Everyone is professional when they approach your home and the honeymoon period is in its prime. I was approached my 5 solar companies, they were all wonderful people When there is a problem with something in your home and stress builds about its safety and your family, its when interactions change. And READ your contract.

I was impressed with Jessica from NYSSolar to arrange coming by my house to meet my family and I, and remind us about filling for our tax credits. I expected to have to fend for myself regarding the tax credits, but was relieved to have Jessica come by and refresh us about the process. She made me feel more comfortable wth the process and it was nice to feel that NYSSolar is by my side after having already purchased the panels. It was also nice to see a bill from ConEd saying that my balance was "None." They actually write that on the bill. I'm reassured on a monthly basis that I made the right decision by installing the panels

Hi Jim, I am writing this email to say how great Steve Pantelis is. My family is about to have our solar panels installed by your company. Steve came to my house and immediately I could see he has a great personality. He is friendly and not pushy at all. He was equipped with all the information on the product and on your company. He let your product and your company's greatness do the selling. Steve is always in contact with me and checking that everything is going ok. Steve makes everything so easy. I was in sales for over 20 years, helped others run their business, and even had a couple businesses on my own. I can tell when a person has skill sets and talents that are above what most people have. I call it the secret sauce -- a mixer of talents and skill sets you cannot describe in words. You can sense it in a person's conversation and mannerisms. Steve has this secret sauce. Very pleased

We installed solar with NYS Solar in the past year, and have been very pleased. Everything worked out exactly as their representative Zack had told me it would. Keith was also a pleasure to speak with during a post install follow up. It’s a multi-part process, but the key pieces are that : 1. No money down. They open a loan for you to start the process for the cost of the system. 2. You get a 26% federal tax credit and $5k from NY. This money came back to us when we filed our taxes, and pays off the above loan. 3. The remaining balance is paid via loan in monthly installments that shows up on the electric bill for 15 years. In 2020 our electric bills were out of control and through 2021 averaged $180 per month. The monthly bill now is the loan of $135 per month plus the $15-$17 fee from pseg to be hooked up to the grid. Total bill is about $152 per month. You cannot argue with the fact that for the next 15 years my bill is essentially locked at a lower figure than it was, and there is no doubt that the cost of electricity will only go up. In 15 years my bill will only be the $15-17 pseg fee. As expected, we produced more electricity in the spring/ summer than fall/winter, but surplus electricity is banked with pseg, and is rolled over monthly. We produced 11,300 kWh last year, and have a substantial surplus; I have no concerns of usage exceeding production. NYS Solar took care of all the paperwork. They did a neat professional install and I’m extremely pleased with the quality of their workmanship and the outcome of the process. They kept every promise they made and I cant recommend them enough.

I was very pleased how the entire process went with NY State Solar. Their Program Manager Jessica Knesel was great. She was very knowledgeable and patient with me answering a million questions I had for her. She was there every step of the way. She even stopped by with an installation gift and Tax forms on behalf of the company. The installation went very smoothly and they did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend going with NYSS for your home.

Amazing Company

I just had solar panels put in by NY State Solar. The salesman, Franklin Cusma, was amazing. He explained everything to us in great detail and in terms that we could easily understand. He was always quick to respond by text with any questions we had. He made the whole process extremely comfortable. He walked us through the permit process and how the paperwork would be done. The paperwork and permit process was extremely easy and very efficient. We had a massive system installed and it was done within the time frame we were told. The installers were all very professional and did a walk through with us once the installation was completed. Looking forward to living with solar
