Great Project

My wife and I considered solar for years and spoke with many companies. We set the bar high when making big financial decisions and none of the companies was able to provide a level of knowledge and professionalism that we were comfortable with. When we revisited installing solar this past year we were introduced to NRG Clean Power and we finally found the right match. Our Project Coordinator, Leila Gorney, was there every step of the way. She kept the project moving, kept us informed, and always had an answer for my many, many questions. Their surveyors, electricians, installers, and everyone we came in contact with were professional and personable. Our HOA required a roof inspection after NRG made the roof penetrations for the mounting brackets. When the roofing company forwarded the report to me they wrote in an email: “I will have you know that our inspector was very pleased with the work of your solar installers! They did a great job.” I could go on but I think you get the point. NRG is a first-rate solar company. Our panels are producing as specified, we’ve achieved our energy goals, and we were 100% satisfied with the entire process. Based on our experience I would highly recommend NRG Clean Power.

Great job on installation and project coordination

NRG Clean Power installed a 5 KW system, a sub-panel, and a 240-volt outlet for an EV Charging station. The installation went well and it was very quick. They did exactly what I wanted and it looks really good. The panels I got are really good quality with a 25 year warranty. The inverter is great and I absolutely love the app. Hunter Bretting, the sales rep provided excellent advice and was prompt in returning calls. I wanted to call out how well Sherry Avni, the production manager, coordinated with the homeowner association. They have very strict requirements and with all of the COVID restrictions are difficult to get in contact with.Whenever there was an issue or I had a question, I'd contact her and she would get back to me. Installation went well.

Horrible Service - NEVER use these company

My experience with NRG lasted for over a year and was quite one of the worse experiences with a contractor ever. In July 2019, I requested bids from a number of solar installers. NRG was not the most or least expensive, but I decided to go with them because their reviews. I am willing to pay more, in this instance $2K more, for better service especially on something that is going on my home for years. I went into contract with NRG in 2019 and they ensured me that the installation would be completed by 2019 so I could get my full tax write-off of 30%. Needless to day when the project was not completed on time and ended up taking over a year to complete and I lost out on a portion of the tax write-off, they only wanted to give me $200 off my installation cost. The main driver of my rating is that I never felt like they had a full understanding of my project. Every time I would ask a question it would take days or a week to get back to me. Most of the time the response was because I had to send a follow-up email asking if they even reviewed the first email since they had not responded. They would make appointments with me and either their workers or PG&E would not show up. I had 4 different installations dates which I took time off of work, that never went through. I understand they cannot control PG&E, but 2 of the 4 times was due to their issues. There was problems with getting the permit, but instead of letting me know of the issues, they did not let me know until I had asked about the reason for the delay. For me to feel like I knew what was going on in the process involved me reaching out to them and not vice versa. Not once was I kept in the loop for my project without me have to reach out first and the project took over a year to complete, which did include some months due to COVID which I do not hold against them. When I asked to speak with a manager, NO one called me back. I left 3 different voicemails over the span of 2 weeks requesting a callback, but instead of calling me back, they just ignored the voicemails. To this day 3 months later I have still yet to receive a call. During this time the only person who would talk to me was the billing person because they were insistent on me paying the bill in time. I had 3 different accounts contacts during the span of my project and one was apparently lying to me about stuff. When things go well with this company, their service is apparently amazing from what I could tell from reading other reviews, but the moment things go wrong and you need help, they ghost you and they are not their to help you. The definition of how you should rate a company's service is not when things go good, it is how they step up to help the customer when things go bad and this company did nothing for me when things went wrong.

Best overall bid and helpful streamlined project management

NRG installed a new energy-efficient asphalt roof and a 30-panel 13 kWh system on our house, including a major sub-panel upgrade. The sales process was interactive and not hard-sell in any way. The design and permitting went fairly smoothly (Oakland is notoriously slow). Once we were ready to go, we were helped enormously by Leila, a very competent project manager on NRG's team. The roofers (subcontracted to Greentech) were efficient and easy to work with. Once they were done, we had a problem with a gutter overflowing, and it turned out they had not cleaned out the downspouts. They returned to fix this problem, so it all worked out. The panel installation also went well, although it took a few visits over a couple of weeks to complete the project. I was impressed that they painted all the conduit to blend in with the roof and the cedar shingles on our house. Only one minor SNAFU: a chip in one of our double pain windows had to be repaired, but they covered the cost with a gift card. Overall, we had a great experience with NRG and I would recommend them without hesitation. If you can, ask for Chris in Sales, Miguel for installation and electrical hookup, and Leila for excellent and personable project management.

Glad I took the leap of faith to go with NRG Clean Power

Glad I went with NRG Clean Power. Not only was the price on par with competitors, they had awesome finance options that convinced me to sign with NRG. My project coordinator, Sherry Avni, was challenged to facilitate various engineer questions I had prior to signing. Every question was answered within faster timeframe I had expected. Customer service was nothing shorter than 5-star treatment. Sherry also guided me properly through the process and provided me with heads up of what happens next without even asking. The solar installers used by NRG also performed excellent. I requested to have all conduits installed in the attic to which the contractors did. Results are clean, appealing, properly installed solar system I'm proud to have installed by NRG. Impressive Service and Great Products

We chose NRG for our solar installation. Everyone we worked with (especially Gemma and Leila) was incredibly helpful and responsive along every step of the process. They responded to emails and texts within a day or two at the most, but usually within a couple of hours. They were patient and very helpful with all of the questions we had (and we had many!), and they were happy to coordinate with other contractors that were doing work on our house at the same time. We did a fairly detailed analysis of the quality, cost, efficiencies, and expected lifetime of the equipment that NRG proposed compared to other companies, and we are confident that they provided the best equipment at the best cost. The installers that came to our house were very professional, worked quickly, and the system was up and running within hours - very impressive. We passed our inspection with no issues and the whole process was completely painless! We are very impressed with the services and products provided by NRG and would wholeheartedly recommend them to family and friends!

We chose the right company

Let me start by saying that buying solar is so confusing! Everyone gives you their take on whats the best way to do it. Some told us to Lease it and some told us to Buy it! I can tell you that you should never consider leasing solar! When we decided we were going to purchase the panels we wanted to make sure we found the right company for the job. We interviewed 4 companies around the the greater Los Angeles area and narrowed it down to nrg clean power. We chose them because of the following reasons: 1. Pricing was good right in the middle 2. Sales person was transparent, knowledgeable and not pushy. 3. They were in business for a long time and strong warranty. They just completed the installation and it was around 2 weeks from when we started with them. Our system is not on yet, they said 2 more weeks for that. I will also be using them in the winter to replace my heater. Overall a good company and great staff.

Stand up company and staff!

We worked with them to put up 22 solar panels on our home in Sherman oaks. We chose them because they gave us all the right options for our home and offered us black panels because they would be seen from the street. We wanted to keep the curb appeal of our home but also wanted to stop paying for electricity and they accommodated us with our design requests. The pricing was not the cheapest but in line with most of the other bids. We got the premium panels made by Solaria. The Installation was an easy one day job and they did not need to come into our home which was important to me during COVID. Good experience with their staff. We just turned on the system and are looking forward to running the AC more freely!

After getting quotes and talking a bunch with other solar companies and friends who have installed solar, I opted to get solar put on my roof with NRG Clean Power. I'm really happy I did. Bryan and the company were wonderful the entire way through. Bryan did a great job explaining things well to me throughout the entire process and got the system up and running without a hitch. If everything was this easy . . . Great job NRG

We shopped around several companies before signing up with NRG. They weren't the cheapest (or the most expensive for that matter), but they offered what we considered to be the best balance between cost, quality of equipment, and service. Sherry, our project coordinator, and the team were very responsive to our questions, and she did an excellent job coordinating their installation with our roofing contractor. The installation team showed up on time and just got on with it. They were very professional and their experience showed in the quality of workmanship. All the mounts, racking and wiring were installed neatly and orderly. Sign-off with the county permit and PG&E went smoothly and our system was online in no time. Overall, we couldn't be more happy with NRG and their level of service. We have had zero issues with the system in the year it's been up and running, and the cost projections which were provided during our quoting process are definitely inline with the real world experience. Great job, and I'd highly recommend speaking with NRG if you're considering solar.

Straight shooters

I met with 4 different companies and I found this company to be the most straight forward and clear. What they said is what I got in the end. The process was smooth with a small hiccup on the city inspection which they took care of the next day. Friendly staff and informative sales rep. I will be using them for my mothers home soon.

An honest and prompt solar company.

Quote was competitive with 3 other quotes received. Chose NRG based on initial meeting with salesperson and reviews and was not the highest or lowest bid. Only problem with the entire job was when our project manager was changed twice and did not hear any updates for two weeks. Once I called to inquire/complain, a new PM was assigned by the name of Tiffany who was very capable and honest. I would recommend NRG without any reservations.

Quickly resolved equipment problem !

I very pleased with my Solar System which is a 3 phase system with 3 Inverters, one for each phase. There was an issue with one of the Inverter so I called Daniel Rodriguez who was the contact that instructed me through the start up phase at the completion of our project. When I contacted Daniel about the issue he got the original Technician out to trouble shoot the problem. The problem required some equipment replaced and Daniel followed through quickly as possible to get the parts, have them installed and get the system up and running. Daniel was great to work with, pleasant and explained the process so I understood everything that was required. I would recommend Daniel at NRG.

I needed a roof and solar system installed. After getting four quotes I decided to go with NRG due to their excellent reviews. Their reviews were uniformly excellent in contrast to other companies who reviews gave one pause. Even though NRG's quote was slightly higher than the others it was their excellent reviews that convinced me. Gary was my initial consultant who walked me through the calculations and calculated my system needs. He was patient and informative. Nicole was my project coordinator and explained and coordinated me through all the steps of replacing my roof and then my solar system. Tiffany was the project supervisor and was also fantastic and an excellent representative of the company. They suggested helpful additions like critter guards around the panels and a solar fan for my attic. I have recommended family and friends and could not be happier with their work.

My son had NRG previously and they were great company so I hired them to do solar on my two homes. Leo was my salesman and he was not high pressured. He explained the benefits of going solar and everything made sense. Installer were very courteous along with Tiffany. They were knowledgeable and professional and do not have a single complaint. It only took few days to add 20 panels on a two story home. Everyone cleaned up after themselves and panels look great by the drone preview when Robert came. I appreciate it NRG sending someone like Robert out to help me get everything started with the app and also what they installed outside. Will use again if I end up getting another property.

Painless solar installation!

NRG just completed a new roof and solar system installation for me and I could not be more pleased with how it turned out and the whole process. NRG did everything in a timely manner, always showed up when they were supposed to and completed everything they said they would. I was especially happy with my project coordinator, Tiffany !!!!! She was on top of things all the time and very helpful and prompt in responding to my questions.

I had some real ups and downs with this company.From install, to passing the final inspections to getting up and running. But once I addressed my concerns with the right people in charge. Excellent experience with NRG solar installation

NRG was great from start to finish, and managed to complete my solar installation very efficiently by Dec. 31 so that I can take advantage of the federal tax credit, which I wanted to do. Ryan was a patient and hard working salesman who provided all of the information I requested and answered my questions at all hours of the day. Sherry Kashani Avni was a great project manager. She kept things moving and kept in touch...and was very responsive to all of my questions and sensitive to my specific interests and requests, and managed to get the whole project done on time, including touching base with the utility to obtain approval quickly (they came out on Dec.31!). Rocky and Jordan (installers) were efficient and friendly, shared much information, and cleaned up the site well. Others I dealt with at NRG were equally helpful and efficient. NRG also has a great warranty, and their pricing was good. I did talk with other companies and obtained other bids, but glad I went with NRG. I highly recommend them for solar.
