Quality and Attentive Service

Solar Lumnia provided quality and attentive service for our 37 panel solar project. Everyone from Courtney, our Design Consultant, to the site inspectors, installers, business office and everyone we interfaced with were very respectful to us and our home. They each told us what they would be doing, asked if we had any questions, and reviewed what had been accomplished each. Communication were top notch and timely. There were no delays on Lumina's part and our solar system was completed ahead of the expected completion date. I would highly recommend Solar Lumina for a solar solution!

Was generally pleased with the pricing, service, and responsiveness of the Lumina team, especially the project manager Andrew Cimino. The staff were all respectful and courteous and took time to explain what was going on and what to expect. The project took a bit longer than expected and there were a few hiccups/oversights during startup that eventually got resolved, but overall was pleased with the team. Would definitely recommend them for others to consider!

Superior Service

It was not until I spoke with Courtney Sollenberger with Lumina Solar that I seriously considered going solar. I had been hearing so much misinformation on solar that I did not feel comfortable making the switch. After seeing the presentation by Lumina and having my questions thoroughly answered it did not make sense not to switch. The information was not only thorough, but it was backed by actual data and science. At every step of the way I received detailed information and I felt comfortable having Courtney guide me in the process. I would highly recommend talking to Courtney if you are even slightly considering solar.

A great experience with Lumina Solar

We have our ground-mounted solar array installed and operational, recently. The solar installer was Lumina Solar, Inc. They did outstanding work. We were particularly impressed by the knowledge, skills, accessibility, and professionalism of Lumina's representative, Kurt Bradshaw who worked with us throughout the process. Kurt made the entire process exciting and an enjoyable experience for us. We decided to go with Lumina Solar for installing a ground-mounted solar array on our property after talking to various companies and organizations. We are happy that we made the right decision. Lumina Solar demonstrated high professionalism, skills, and customer-oriented work style. Soon after we started the contract work, we realized that the solar project was a multistage complex process involving site survey, system design, multi-component permitting process, structural and electrical foundation building, solar devices installation, and the final operation approval process from our electrical supplier which interfaces with our solar system. Lumina Solar made the process seamless with high quality work throughout. We particularly want to express our appreciation of Kurt’s work in walking us through the entire process. He was patient, personable, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about the process. He would explain to us, answer our questions, and even take our calls or communicate with us during weekends and on his holiday breaks. Kurt not only made himself available to us 24/7 before the completion of our solar project, but also continues to respond to our questions after the completion of our solar project. His work made an otherwise anxious process an exciting and enjoyable experience for us. We felt that what makes Lumina Solar a particularly great company to work with is their effort in customer care and communication. All members of Lumina’s team have been quick and transparent communicators; whenever we called to ask questions, a live person was available to help. We also should call out another Lumina staff member, Mark Walker, who oversaw the work on many steps of the solar installation process. Like Kurt, Mark was incredibly knowledgeable and always available to answer questions we might have, and was frequently on site during the installation work. Installing a ground-mounted system is a multistep process perhaps a bit more complex than rooftop solar installation. All the Lumina Solar’s staff and contractors worked on the project were excellent through all these steps. In addition, the company is deeply knowledgeable about local, state, and federal regulations as well as about the financial rebates. In fact, Lumina Solar helped us process many of the applications needed to obtain federal, state, and local green-energy credits and rebates that we are qualified to have! We have had a great experience with Lumina Solar and recommend them 100%.

Great customer service

We’ve almost completed the switch to solar process and this company has been great to work with. Any hiccups we’ve had, have been immediately addressed and our PM has been excellent in his responsiveness to our questions and needs. We can’t wait to see what this technology can do to our electric bill as the years go on! Better for the environment and ultimately the wallet. This investment is a win win!

We had a great experience getting a home solar and battery system with Lumina. Our consultant Peter Hayes did a great job walking us through all the options and helping us select the right system. We appreciated that they didn't put any pressure on us and made sure we understood everything. The permitting and install process was smooth and they kept us informed throughout. Excellent Service - Lumina Solar and Peter Hayes

We went with Lumina Solar as our solar installer primarily because of the pre-sales service that Peter Hayes provided, and the fact that we wanted to go with a more-or-less local installer. While other installers called and spoke on the phone briefly, Peter was more systematic and generous with his time - he had a personalized powerpoint presentation and explained almost everything in great detail. He was great to work with during the contract signing process and was very prompt in replying to e-mails and messages. Lumina scheduled our installation a little ahead of what they initially had told us the wait time might be. The installation happened on Oct 5 and the crew was very professional. The post-installation stuff happened in a timely manner and we got the permission to operate from PPL on Oct 27, 2022 (a little more than 3 months since we first got in touch with Peter). We have been very happy with the choice we made. Thank you Peter and Lumina Solar.

Solar Professionalism & Excellence

In the spring of 2022, our friends mentioned that they decided to install solar panels. Their experience was fantastic, and they were saving money on their electric bill. It was on their recommendation that we chose to research Lumina, and I’m so thrilled that we made that decision! We reached out to Peter Hayes, who is to be a sales representative; however, he was much more than a sales representative. Pete cordially accepted each of my requests to meet and discuss the project, answered all of my questions.. and texts.. and made both my wife and I feel comfortable and confident about installing solar panels on our home. Pete was a partner in the process, and made us feel like family! Pete communicated every step of the process, from financing the project, to installation, permitting, and interconnection. The installation team was thorough, friendly, and professional. In particular, I remember the installation manager having impeccable attention to detail, ensuring that the solar panels were completely parallel to our roof lines. Furthermore, the electrician took pride in molding the electric line to the contour of our home to ensure that it was hidden as much as possible. It was incredibly important for us to make the project aesthetically pleasing, and Lumina was up to the task! My wife and I couldn’t be happier with our purchase and the quality people and installation that we experienced. New Solar System in Dover PA

Lumina Solar installed a system on our house last week. The day after installation the Township inspected it and gave the Goldy Locks seal of approval. One week later the power company gave their approval and out system went active. I can't say enough nice things about the entire Lumina team. From the sales force to the back office staff that do most of the work, and finally the installation team--they showed up on time, did the work and finished on-time with no drama! We have a kick-ass system and I am soooooo glad we asked Lumina to install it. Anybody considering a system should talk to Lumina; you won't be disappointed.

Excellent product and excellent service

As soon as I bought my house a couple of years ago, I started looking into the viability of solar panels. I spoke with a number of companies, and Lumina was by far the most direct and informative in their presentation. I was impressed, and ultimately went with them for my system install. They made the process easy, were extremely transparent, and continued to work with me over the long period of time it took me to finally commit. I am happy with my system now that it is up and running, and I highly recommend Lumina if you are looking into solar for your own home.

An excellent solar company

When we decided to look for a solar company to build and install a solar array on our farm, Lumina was our choice. They were excellent to work with - professional, friendly, experienced, and scheduled everything in a timely manner for our project, from getting all the required county permits to scheduling the final county inspections when the project was complete. They handled everything from start to finish. It was wonderful to work with their staff, and to know their always friendly customer service continues even today when we have questions or need their help. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who wants a quality solar install.

Philip Jordan our salesman was excellent with communicating and adjusting the price for our needs. He was always quick to reply with answers to our questions and if he didn't have the answer right away, he responded to let us know he was looking into it. The installation crew worked very effectively and efficiently. They cleaned up their work area well.

Outstanding Service

My wife and I had a great experience working with Lumina Solar through the whole project life cycle. We had been wanting to go solar for some time. When we realized it was finally time to replace our roof, we were ready. Starting with the initial presentation by Kurt explaining why solar made sense and the steps involved, the actual project pretty much followed the laid out plan. I was particularly impressed by the software used to evaluate and design the solar arrays. We went with the roofer American Home Contractor who partnered with Lumina. This decision saved us money and also provided us with the option of applying a thermal sheet on our roof to improve our insulation and waterproofing barrier. The $0 down financing with Dividend Finance was a no brainer, especially when you apply for the tax credit to reduce the overall principal. The installation went very well and any hiccups in the approval process (which can be expected) were quickly resolved. Overall - an outstanding experience. We highly recommend Lumina Solar!

Professional and personal

From the beginning, Peter Hayes was informative, helpful, and answered my questions. I liked having the “sales” person as the project manager. My system was installed 3 months ago, made operational by Peco 2 months ago, and I received a communication today from Peter to check on how the system was working. I appreciate the professional, personal approach Lumina utilizes to serve their customers.

Worth the Wait

Man, this review was a long time coming, but the experience was definitely worth it. I'm not sure where to begin....I guess, at the beginning! I met Brian Buzzfeed (Buzz) on TikTok. He's The Solar Slayer. We bought a new house in December of 2021 that has no gas line and two HVAC units with heat pumps. So when my BGE bill for January was almost $600, I immediately started researching solar. We have a lot of roof space and the sun path over our house was ideal. Back to Buzz. I started following him on TikTok when I was in my research phase. He's an electrician/solar installer and his work is super clean and detailed. When I realized he was here in Maryland, I reached out to him and told him I'm in the market for solar. He told me he was an installer for Lumina and suggested I reach out to them and schedule an estimate. I had an estimate with one of the big national companies on Wednesday while my Lumina estimate was scheduled for Friday. When it came to knowledge, professionalism, and my confidence in their competence, it wasn't even close. Lumina was head and shoulders above them. I knew right away that they were the company I wanted to work with. I didn't know, however, that it would take 8 months for the project to be completed. Now, it definitely wasn't Lumina's fault. Through the inspection process we found out the previous owner (who was a contractor) cut several corners when building the addition and the roof wasn't structurally sound. So, we ended up having to replace the entire roof along with the trusses in an entire section and a ton of the plywood. Throughout the entire process, Lumina was communicative. I worked with Kurt Bradshaw and he was phenomenal. We talked at least weekly for 8 months and became friends in the process. Once everything was finally done, I discovered that the wait was worth it. I own a small business myself and Lumina operates the way that I strive to. They're informative, communicative, and professional. I absolutely cannot recommend them enough.

We researched multiple solar companies and received estimates on solar panel installations. We found that Lumina Solar is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. Its cost estimate sits somewhere in the middle but with higher cost comes better quality. For example, Lumina Solar uses micro inverters instead of solaredge, and better equipment that attaches the solar panels to the roof. We spoke with several other well known solar installation companies beside Lumina Solar and chose it for a variety of reasons. We were highly impressed with Andrew Cimino's presentation and knowledge as compared to solar consultants from other companies. He was very transparent and upfront. Most importantly, at no point in our interactions did he come off as a "pushy" salesperson. He provided all the information and gave us plenty of time before following up with us about our decision. We had several technical questions about the panels, inverters and the installation process. If he didn't have all the answers, he made sure to find those out after consulting with his technical team and provided detailed documents for us to review. Unlike other solar companies, Lumina Solar has an in-house installation crew which makes it responsible for any install related issues even several years after the installation. We have read plenty of online reviews from people complaining about installations done by third party installation crews hired by solar companies. Elayna Birch-Smith was very professional and performed a thorough pre-installation survey of the roof and the attic space to ensure a proper design of the solar panel system. We found Lumina Solar's installation crew experienced and adept in completing the task. They completed our installation in under 4 hours. Andrew kept us well informed about the process and steps from signing the contract to installation. Everything happened as per the schedule and plan. Pre-installation, Lumina Solar took care of all the permits and scheduling appointments with the electric company and the county inspectors. Post installation, Lumina Solar's team took care of all the paperwork required to receive the incentives. We are very happy with the install and service provided by Lumina Solar. Our system performance is excellent.

Excellent Company / Excellent People

My solar journey started in October 2021. After interviewing several solar companies, I chose Lumina. The biggest reason for my choice was Philip Jordan. While interviewing other companies, I had a lot of questions for Phil. He was always a phone call away and he would take the time to explain why there may be differences between Lumina and another company I was interviewng. While going through the process of walking door-to-door in my neighborhood to gather signatures to update our by-laws, Phil came out one cold Saturday in January and walked with me. He was able to answer questions some of the homeowners had about solar. He has been by my side through this entire process. It took me 3 months of walking door-to-door to gather enough signatures for updating my HOA bylaws. It was a lot of work...but it has paid off. In late July, the HOA officially updated our bylaws for solar. Phil moved qickly to get the install scheduled. The install was completed in late August. The team that came out to do the install was an amazing group ...extremely knowledgable about their product, courteous, and easy to talk with. They were very efficient, instaling my panels in a little over four hours. They made sure I was comfortable with the work they completed and answered all of my questions before leaving my house. I cannot say enough about Phil, the team that completed my install and Lumina. The experience for me has been awesome! Great people...great team! Would definitely recommend Lumina to anyone looking to make the move to solar energy!

Wonderful Experience - Great Service

We were referred to Lumina by a neighbor who was very happy with their experience having solar panels installed and we can echo their sentiments. Philip was our first contact person with Lumina and he was incredibly helpful and super responsive throughout the whole process. He answered every question we had and offered info in a way that was very genuine and caring… often times responding within seconds! The install day was also extremely pleasant with the 5 workers who were here to install the system. They were all very friendly and we were able to chat and ask any questions we had throughout the day. I highly recommend Lumina if you’re looking for a trustworthy partner for installing solar!!

Lumina Solar: Only company to purchase solar from

Lumina Solar was absolutely amazing from the very beginning throughout the waiting period and after install. The sales rep, Peter Hayes, was very through and kept us informed throughout the entire process. Every few weeks he would let me know of any updates while we waited for our township to approve everything. Even after installation, Peter has continued to reach out to make sure that everything is operating as expected, if there are any issues and of any updates that I should be aware of. Once everything was approved and ready for installation a day was scheduled that worked with my schedule. The installation team (Ryan, Nate, Josh, Cameron, and Titus) arrived promptly and were incredibly professional and courteous. Even my neighbors commented on how incredible they were. Besides the sound of everything being installed, you would not know that they were even working and nothing was left behind. If you are seriously thinking getting solar installed, which I would recommend, I would look at no other company than Lumina Solar. They know solar!

Excellent Overall Experience

Everyone we encountered from sales to scheduling to installation to support was very professional, reliable, helpful, and friendly. They were very patient answering our many questions and providing insightful suggestions to design the project we wanted. They delivered everything we contracted for with minimal delay and disruption at the agreed to price. We compared four offers and their cost was the most competitive for comparable systems. As home improvement projects go this went very well.
