We made the right choice with Lumina Solar

When we decided to purchase solar panels for our home, we interviewed many companies, conducted numerous interviews in person and virtual. My wife spent hours reading reviews and recommendations. It was Lumina Solar that "ticked all the boxes" for us. We specifically wanted a company which used its own employees and not sub-contactors. Peter Hayes, who was our point of contact was very easy to work with and responsive to any questions we had. We could not be happier.

We had a delightful experience working with Christopher and his team at Lumina solar. Everything went according to plan and even exceeded our expectations. If you want to save the environment and save money at the same time, going solar is the way to do it. I very highly recommend the team at Lumina.

Project Simplification Through Lumina Solar

Our project for moving to solar energy involved six different companies who install solar panels. Using the information I learned from my personal research on the topic, a questionnaire I configured to pull out the details from each company, and a spreadsheet where I was able to store both objective and subjective information I was able to get a quick summary of the information and data I received from each company and do a visual comparison. Knowing which manufacturers produce the best solar panels and microinverters, and which products the installation companies use in their systems are certainly major factors in making the final decision. But reading detailed reviews from their clients and discussing the facts with the sales person should play an important part in the process. I found Christopher Richardson, our sales person, to be both knowledgeable and forthcoming in the information he provided. After looking at all the pieces from the potential installers I found that Lumina stood out both in terms of using top-rated equipment and simplifying the process through to the time of activation. My work as a customer ended at the point at which we selected Lumina and signed our contract. Afterwards their team carried the project to site survey, obtaining all necessary permits, installing the panels and electrical equipment, working with our local power supplier, and setting up warranties and certificates. In our observation we found that all employees of Lumina (salesman, system engineers and designers, schedulers, installation and inspection teams and project administrator) worked together seamlessly. We are now truly basking in the sun and seeing our solar production meet and exceed our electrical consumption.

Courtney is my consultant! She led me through every step of the process before we even started. All the possible ups and downs etc. first class! The crews that came to my house were 100% professional and really loved their work. They were very proud of the job they do as well. I would 100% recommend them and will be using them in any solar builds I do from now on!

Lumina Solar provided a great experience from start to finish. At my the first introduction to my saleman, Andrew Cimino, all my questions were answered. Andrew was very knowledgeable of the process and very professional. The install team was great as well, led by Jason Larkins and electrical lead Devin Jones. The install team was very friendly and answered all my question during the install process. All the trash was cleaned up prior to leaving after the install was complete. As my trench was done in early March, I had trouble getting grass to grow where the trench was dug while the temperatures were still on the cold side. Andrew stopped by in April on his own time and brought with him enough seed and straw to redo the grass seed. All in all, Lumina made the process seamless and were very friendly and professional. I would certainly recommend Lumina Solar to anyone considering adding solar panels.

The Adventure of a Lifetime

Lumina did a good job at providing the service recommended. They talked us through our concerns and put our minds at ease. I felt comfortable trusting them with the numbers and managing the mechanics of the installation. Ultimately, we installed solar panels and have a much more efficient running house. In addition, the software allows me to view how much energy we spend and produce. The installation went smoothly, and they did a very thorough job. However, there were times when communication was lacking, and our sales rep embodied professionalism to maintain the company's appearance instead of showing us authenticity and truthful responses. Overall this was a great experience where they delivered excellent customer service and the requested product while making accommodations for our situation.

Couldn't have been happier with entire process from start to finish. Pete Hayes walked thru the design, specs and cost and answered all questions without any pressure. Installation crew was fantastic and reviewed everything upon completion. Highly recommend Lumina and Pete.

Great experience!

Great experience with Lumina solar!!!! From our initial introduction/ first experience to installation everything has been positive. Our sales rep, Fanus Coetzee, was honest and helped design a system perfect for our needs unlike other companies who simply tried to upsell us. He answered all my questions and was always available. As the first contact with the company, he made a positive impact. The installation process was positive as well. The installation team and electrition were punctual, polite, respectful of our property, cleaned up for themselves and were efficient. I have seen other solar installs with metal conduit all over ones roof and it looks sloppy. We have only a small piece extending down from soffit and nothing visible on the roof. I would highly recommend.

Best Service from start to finish!

I called around to several solar providers to get info about our investment into solar. Lumina stood out so far beyond the other vendors immediately when they reached out and sent Courtney to come to my house and discuss everything with us. She answered all of my questions completely and honestly which I respected so much! I was left with a way better understanding of how it all worked and what would take place in this process. She remained / still remains the person I can call or text if I have any questions and responds quickly back. If she doesn’t know the answer she’s been able to find the person that does. I wish I remembered all of the names but the surveyor, to the installers, and electricians that did the inspection and install were incredible. All of them extremely kind and knowledgeable. I enjoyed getting to talk to all of them through the process.

Great product, better customer support

Strongly recommend Lumina if you are considering solar. They were incredibly competitive, offering top tier materials while meeting or beating other respected installers (price per watt). As important as price, the company's customer service is top notch. The company and team were incredible throughout the entire process; you can tell the team takes great pride in their work. The sales team was great, working through options and questions without being pushy. The installer team was prompt and worked through all questions and details, including taking additional time to try to accommodate our installation preferences. Of particular note, we had a very challenging time with our HOA to gain approval for solar installation. Lumina went above and beyond in that extended negotiation, and they reflected great integrity in maintaining our contracted price vs. renegotiating to account for inflation. (Our HOA approval took almost a year to approve installation.) If you're looking for a highly ethical customer-focused company, look into Lumina.

It's Great

I'm very satisfied with my new solar system. From my first contact with Pete Hayes to the completion of the work, including all the legwork with my utility company. It was very satisfying to see my electric bill drop to $15.00 as promised by Pete. His help through the entire process was encouraging in a time where customer service often seems to be difficult to find.

Lumina provided us one of the most competitive prices we could find for the specs, with an impressive warranty and, most importantly, superb customer service from top to bottom. We worked with Andrew Cimino as our project manager, but had a full team of support along the way: Caitlin, Bethany, Brooke, Cara, and Spencer all were part of the process while always feeling like they were unified. We met with a lot of solar contractors before deciding to move forward with Lumina, and the #1 reason we didn't move forward with those options was because the customer service was obviously lacking from step one. Lumina's communications, guides, response times, project plans, checklists, etc. were all perfection, and that made the difference, and I'm glad that we made this choice, and I would recommend the Lumina team to anyone who was interested.

Everything went exactly as expected. The representative took time to answer all of our questions and thoroughly reviewed financial options. The installation crew was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Awesome install

Andrew Cimino gave us projections what he thought the sun would give us with our 37ish panels and all's I can say is, he was a tad low on those numbers bc we are already getting checks back from the energy provider ahead of schedule! Love these panels! Andrew was fantastic to work with. The install guys that came out were nice, listened to a few concerns and questions we had of them and within 2 days after they started to install they were done. 2 short weeks later, we were on the panels and I really couldn't be happier. Andrew was there every step of the way, answered questions we had and was always super responsive. The dry wall guys was great as well and super fast. Thank you!

The RIGHT recommendations

Andrew and Lumina Solar was spectacular from day one. He impressed me enough that I went with Lumina over another vendor which was rated almost as high as Lumina. Not only that, their use of technology is impressive and lays out everything for you, from the amount of Sun you generally get etc... Finally, one of the most impressive things throughout aside from professionalism, and communication, is their willingness to recommend what is RIGHT for you, and NOT what would make them more money, and in this day and age, that is as unique as it gets. Also, EVERYTHING goes through them and that in itself is beyond amazing. We ended up needing a new roof, and they handled all of it, they even covered some of the wood panel replacements on them. I have installed 25 solar panels on our roof, and I would recommend them again in a heart beat and hope to eventually get a battery or two for our home, once prices drop some.

Home owner Solar Review

Great experience from the start. We got a couple of other quotes and Peter Hayes and Lumina made the most sense for us. Honest explanation from the start. Peter was great to work with and always quick to respond to my various questions. We started the process in August of 22 and installation was complete the first week of December. Install team was very professional. Our system was functional a week later. Looks great and functions perfectly. With a December install, I was expecting it would take until March for to make all of our energy via solar but we were making 100% of our energy by January. It’s really cool to get that first zero energy bill. The tracking app is great. We have instant access to our production and functioning status. It just works! I would highly recommend Solar by Lumina.

My experience working with Lumina Solar, in particular my project manager Chris, has been top notch from beginning to end. Chris went the extra mile to respond to the many questions I had before committing, even when it required extra research. He was not pushy or sales-y at all. The system he designed for me has been running for a year now and has saved me an average of $228/month comparing year-over-year to the costs prior to the solar install. He assisted me with full documentation needed for tax credits and got my SREC reimbursements set up too. The team that worked through permitting, installation, and and getting my system online were all prompt, friendly, and did thorough work. I recommend Lumina Solar without reservation.

Nicely Done

Chris Russ provided a great overview of Lumina's products and advantages, and his team kept me fully informed during all portions of the installation/hook-up process. They also had a great handyman repair the drywall in my basement after the installation, can't even tell they were there. Highly recommended...

Loved working with Lumina Solar on our panel project

Lumina Solar was a great company to work with. I am the kind of person that does a lot of research and was constantly asking questions about the products, options and process. They took their time answering and never made me feel like it was a rush sales job. Andrew was very patient with me as I waffled on the battery /no battery part. The installers were great and very personable. Many times you get that "leave me alone feeling" from people doing the actual install but not these guys. I would go watch was going on for a bit and ask questions and then come back later for more knowledge. They were very patient and professional. Overall the process from start to finish has been easy, timely and friendly. The people at the company have been in the industry for a long time and seen the good and bad that comes with some other shady companies. They seem to take that to heart and really try to provide next level service. If I ever relocate to a new home without solar, they will be one of my first calls at the new house.

Excellent experience

I cannot say enough positive things about the full spectrum of service my family has received from Lumina. It has been a longtime dream of my wife and I to have a solar system. We designed our new energy efficient home with that in mind. Tim Cooke guided us through the design/sales phase with clarity and honesty. No smoke and mirrors. Once we signed the contract, Lumina staff went to work getting our design through the onerous county permit maze. The install crew was fantastic. Within four hours my 12.6KW system was installed and wired up ready for the next inspection phase. The crew was extremely efficient and cleaned up after all was said and done. They were clear in their communication and wonderful ambassadors for the Lumina organization. I will whole heartedly recommend this company to anyone interested in lowering their power bills with solar. Thanks Lumina!!!

Peter Hayes with Lumina Solar

Peter Hayes was great from start to finish. He helped me understand the different types of solar panels, walked me through the process of buying panels(including how to evaluate the solar plan that was proposed) and helped me get my tax credit after the deal was done. Prices with Lumina Solar were competitive. They don’t use outdated panels and inverters like some of the other budget companies.

Wonderful Experience from Sales to Installation to Operation

Pete Hayes was a pleasure to work with throughout the sales process, taking multiple phone calls, and answering every question we threw at him, even providing detailed spec sheets for our panels, inverters and quick-bolt roof fasteners. We received quotes from 2 other companies that just did not stack up to Lumina's for different combinations of price, capacity, warranty, and ease of dealing with. Once the paperwork was signed, there was a very smooth handoff to the Lumina back office staff. Lumina handled all dealings with the township, PPL, the monitoring company, and the SREC broker, and kept us informed each step of the way. The installation crew was professional, polite, and meticulous. Our panels look great, and we love monitoring how much energy they are cranking out, even on cloudy days. Mary Lechner and Erika Murray were a great help getting our EnPhase App working correctly for us!

A Great Experience With A Great Company

This was easily the best experience we’ve had with this sort of major project. From the initial consultation onward Lumina was professional, knowledgeable, and willing to meet us where we were at in the process. In similar consultations with other companies the assessment felt rushed (and as a result ended up not resulting in a proposal that fit our needs) and many of them wanted an immediate commitment from us the same day which seemed, frankly, insane considering the size and cost involved. Lumina's willingness to let us make a decision on our own timetable demonstrated the companies ability to focus on individual customers needs and helped build trust before we had even begun formally working together. That was a major factor in why we ultimately decided to choose them for our project. The ability to add in other non-solar aspects of project (roof, gutters, heavy up) without any additional hassle was also a great selling point for us as opposed to trying to plan and execute multiple separate projects on top of each other. Everyone we’ve interacted with from Lumina including on site was professional and friendly and even when complications arose or mistakes were made have done everything possible to rectify the situation quickly and with as little hassle as possible. As someone with a background in logistics I understand all the little things that can go wrong and snowball into bigger problems so while there’s always room for improvement, the team at Lumina exceeded our expectations.

Glad I found Lumina Solar

When I was interested in solar system for my house I had few estimates from different solar system companies. The price of installation of Solar system was about same or less than the Lumina Solar. But I needed company like the Lumina Solar that thoroughly explain about solar system with scientific presentation including pictures of work procedures. Because I didn't know anything about solar system and wasn't completely sure about solar system vs electricity. Then I met Andrew at the Lumina Solar. He walked through it step by step and from the day-1 and even after completion of solar system installation on my house. Besides Andrew, all of Lumina's staff was very professional and prompt responsive. Glad that Lumina did install the solar system on my house!
