Excellent experience

Going solar is something I’ve thought about for years and finally decided to act on it. Jevon Ciciliot, my salesman reached out to me and drove all the way up to my house to discuss further and come up with a game plan with the most efficient system possible. Jevon was polite, respectful, professional, and knowledgeable. With such a major investment, naturally there are a ton of questions. Jevon was able to answer and explain everything in a way that doesn’t make your head spin. He also presented and carried himself like a friend that I’ve known for years. Jevon was always available to answer any questions that inevitably pop up and would get back to me promptly regardless of how busy his schedule may be. Once it came time for installation, the install crew also carried themselves professionally and worked quickly. I was told it was a 2 full day job to complete but they were done in a day and a half without any mistakes. They kept me in the loop throughout the install so I always knew how things were going. And most importantly they didn’t leave any mess behind once they were done. Overall I had an excellent experience.

I got many quotes for solar panels before finally choosing Lumina Solar. They provided the best customer service, panels and price. They answered any question I had even months after the system was installed. I referred them to a friend and he got Solar through them as well and is just as happy as me.

Very Professional

From my first contact with Lumina Solar the employees have been nothing but excellent! They answered all my questions, always in contact with me about appointments and any changes that occurred. My initial meeting with Matt answered all my questions and he was my contact all the way through. The various employees that were out to do the installation were pleasant, courteous, professional. My experience with Lumina Solar

I started exploring the installation of solar panels on my roof in July of 2023. I talked with and met with sales people from several companies. After meeting with Gabriel Shabtai from Lumina Solar I decided to go with Lumina. Gabriel explained the entire process clearly. He offered the best price. Working with Gabriel and the rest of the staff at Lumina has been a pleasure. They have been extremely courteous, prompt in their reply to all my requests for help. Every step in the installation process has been absolutely professional. From surveying the roof, to planning the system, to expediting the permitting, to installation, inspection by the county post installation, working with BGE to arrange net metering, to obtaining the permission to operate from BGE has been quick and seamless. All the staff at Lumina have been excellent. Caitlin did all the scheduling. Gary, Jason did great work with the installation. Chris the master electrician was very accommodating in working to install the Junction box, disconnect switch in the garage. They took all the needed pictures of the entire installation that was needed for post installation inspection. Lastly the initiation of the system going live was done remotely. From the day I signed the contract to when the system went live in operation took merely seventy days. Super fast. Cara and the team working to get my incentives from the state of Maryland, to property tax credit from Baltimore County and registering me with SRECTrade.com to get my credits for the system has all been done in one day. I have nothing but praise for the entire team at Lumina Solar. I am really happy I made the decision to go with Lumina. Gabriel was not only my sales person, but my project manager. He was very prompt in replying to all my text, email and phone messages. I have lived in my house for 35 years and worked with many contractors, Lumina has been the best one to work with.

Best experience from Sales to installation and Installation

Before I went Lumina as a service provider, I did my share of research in the marketplace. Alexander one of the sales rep provided me the details with different options including detailed setback options as well. During the roof inspection and installation process I had received details and instructions about the whole process. Installation is completed in one business day, even though the PTO got delay due to county inspection Lumina provide periodic reminders and status update. After PTO they helped to setup SREC account as well along with my county tax exemption filing. One final thing they even take extra steps to fix patches during installation along finding services to paint as well. Overall great

Solar Installation by Lumina Solar

About a month ago I had a wonderful experience with Lumina Solar when we signed a solar installation contract. My point of contact was Andrew Cimino and he completely reduced any complexities in the process over a couple of Zoom calls explaining everything from A to Z. The pre-installation activities like site review and permitting with the County, my HOA, and the BGE utility company were all handled by the company expeditiously without a hitch. On the day of installation their installers arrived early and started work on the electrical wiring and panel installs. They finished everything on same day and cleaned up the project site. Lumina Solar made the entire process look so easy I couldn’t help but wonder why other solar companies made it sound complicated. A month after the installation I can say all the panels are producing electricity as planned, shown through daily, weekly and monthly reports I receive. Lumina Solar has given me the peace of mind I needed and I unreservedly recommend them to anyone who wants to go solar.

Purchased additional panels to supplement my existing array and a high-speed charger for EV - through EcoArlington's solar coop. Excellent experience - very clear and helpful in working through issues like how best to tie into existing array and electrical panels; options for charger placement. Install was highly professional - on schedule; done promptly; workmanship was neat and professional; everything cleaned up. Ongoing support through enphase and solar monitoring are excellent - superior to my original setup.

I've been working with the Lumina Solar team to get my solar system setup and operational. They have been beyond helpful through out the process and I don't have to worry about anything!

These guys were clean, quiet, knew what they were doing, did not disturb us at all and very professional. As the home owner, I had one contact person for the entire job. If I had any questions I knew who to email/call/ or text and I got an answer in less then one hour. And the best part....they finished weeks ahead of the projected "Go Live" date.

Fantastic system and crew

Everything went very smoothly from the initial consultation to installation. Our house is close to 5000 ft.² and we are running to in-home businesses. Even with an extra six people including four of us for part of the summer, our electric bill never was more than $15 a month. Peter was extremely professional, helpful and friendly!

I did a lot of research on various solar companies in the DMV area. I did the whole gambit and discussed my home project with about 10 companies. Lumina was not only one of the most communicative but their price was the most competitive. Once I told the other solar companies that I was going with Lumina I got an email from one of their competitors saying something along the lines of: "Lumina is one of the few companies I would recommend outside of our own. You made a good choice." Andrew Cimino, my Lumina solar consultant / project manager, really went above and beyond any customer-facing representative I have ever seen. He dove deep into the technical aspects of my solar project, quickly addressed my numerous concerns about solar in general, and was professional & responsive throughout the whole process. I cannot think of anything either Lumina or Andrew could have done better. I love my solar panels. I am so happy to have chosen Lumina and gotten Andrew as my project manager.

I am 100% impressed and amazed by every single aspect of the process of buying a solar system for my home: from inquiry, system design, site inspection, permitting, installation, wiring, and wifi configuration of my Lumina Solar installation. This company has figured out every single step along the path of adding a solar system to your home. Obviously, someone at Lumina Solar has a strong handle on the business processes and workflow of a big job like solar installs. I designed my own passive solar home many years ago with a roof designed for solar panels. I have been inquiring about this seriously over the past 5 years. This year I noticed some large solar installs on homes near us in Harleysville, PA, USA. When I asked these homeowners who did these installs, they told me about how pleased they were with Lumina Solar. So this summer, 2023, I started into this project once again, this being at least my 10th time talking to solar companies. From the very first meeting online with Christopher Richardson <crichardson@luminasolar.com> I was totally impressed. With my background in architecture and building, I was really interested in the process and the use of the GEO mapping software he used to lay out my panels. With Christopher, we were able to design a system that met our electrical usage based on my past two years of power consumption. After a few layouts and projections of power generation based on geo specs and roof angles and roof azimuth, Christopher was able to project the performance of the system. At that moment, I was really sold on working with Lumina Solar, little did I know that all the many steps to follow would go just as well as this first process if not better. After the final layout and design, the installation day was set, and of course, I had concerns. All my concerns were erased from the first arrival of the installation teams, The roofers, assistants, and electrician teams all gathered up at my home right on time. They went over the installation plans, looked over the site, and immediately set up the various jobs sites. Each team went over the job site with me and the electricians set up shop at the basement panel and the outside electrical feed. The roofing team set up shop out back and pre-loaded all the panels, cabling, and systems needed for the solar panel roof installation. The installation went perfectly. The electrical work was SUPERB, By late in the afternoon, the entire system of 18 panels was configured and evaluated. The next day, I received emails from Lumina Solar informing me of the next steps towards PTO, permission to operate, and sending my power into the electrical grid. Once we receive that we will be fully operational. The steps to installing solar are many, and every single step is fully known and executed well by this company! The bottom line. Lumina Solar is one incredible company with every single process of their Solar Business fully figured out and mapped out. Amazingly smooth from contract to operation

I decided to get solar now because my roof was nearing the end of its life so it made sense to do both. I looked at options for each separately and Lumina's price for solar was mid-range but Luisa Yared patiently answered all my questions without pressuring me. I was informed of the limits to possible returns because of tree coverage -- but I knew I was trying to get one tree taken down anyhow because it interfered with Pepco wires. Then she told me they had an affiliated roofing company and could give a combined price. The combined price made it substantially less expensive than any other combo of solar and roofers I looked at -- and meant that I would not end up with two contractors blaming each other for any problems. And both companies had great reviews and good BBB ratings. The installations each took one day; each group left the area well cleaned; and disruption was minimal. So all good. The customer service is really great -- they walked me through every step and prepared everything needed for permitting, for setting up monitoring and for selling the excess power back to the grid. But I did not want to write a review until I had some pudding to taste. Would there be water leaks or panel breakdowns? No leaks and they sent repair people out twice to fix panels that were not functioning properly without my ever noticing. And then I waited for electric bills. In the middle of summer, my bills dropped from $100+ to less than $20! So now I am posting a 5-star review. (and this month I finally got someone to take down that tree so I expect things will get even better!)

Enjoyed the journey with Lumina Solar

The experience was top-notch. The installer was knowledgeable without being pushy, readily provided answers to all my queries, and offered competitive pricing. I was particularly impressed with the REC 405W panels they installed – a testament to their commitment to quality tech. From signing to installation, the process took about a month, and another 1.5 months for operational clearance, which was managed by Dominion Energy. A special shoutout to Luisa for her exceptional guidance throughout. I'm especially grateful for their flexibility in working around some scheduling constraints we had. Heartfelt thanks to the installation crew - Tyler, Phil, Jeff, Bastian, and Alyjah, and kudos also to Caitlin and Cara for their invaluable support. Highly recommended!

Kurt Bradshaw and the whole Lumina team lived up to the many glowing reviews I read before signing up with them. Kurt explained and answered my many questions (over and over) patiently so I had a complete understanding of solar energy. Our system was complicated because we have multiple meters at our farm. Kurt would not give up until we had everything we wanted. He jumped through all of Virginia Power's hoops with a smile on his face. The installers came as scheduled and left the place spotless. The office obtained all the necessary permits, inspections, Solar Energy Credit registration and the local real estate assessment reductions. I highly recommend Kurt and Lumina. The customer is spot on. I still call Kurt with questions about the apps and he's always there with his happy attitude.
