Great experience.

The process was very straightfoward. It took us maybe a month from start to finish. Our system is now up and running, and it's exciting to see it produce electricity in real time. We worked with Shane Williams, and he explained everything to us very clearly. I geeked out with the process and he sent me all the technical specs that I wanted, including the simulations. Some of the other companies we reached out to were not very responsive, so we decided to go with Lumina. Shane was available during the whole process anytime we needed something. I've already had a couple of neighbors reach out to me about solar, and I will recommend they go with Shane and Lumina.

Amazing company!

I decided to get solar panels after deciding that I was going to buy an EV car. After scouring the internet for local solar installers I grew disappointed in seeing the negative reviews on a bunch of installers here in MD. However not giving up I found Lumina Solar. WOW was I amazed at all the positive things said of them on Google so I decided to give them a call. From start to finish I worked with Alex. Alex was a genuine caring guy who I really enjoyed having as my sales rep. He was great at explaining things clearly so I could manage my expectations and was there to answer all of my questions through the process. Installation day came without any issues, all the workers were super nice and were able to get everything up and installed in one day. Lumina was great at handling all of the back and forth paper work needed to be handled with my electric company so the process to get the system turned on went by real quick which I was really pleased with, for I wanted to be eligible for the 30% tax credit! All in all, I am very pleased with Lumina solar, and if you're looking for a solar company like I was, you can't go wrong with them!

Excellent experience

Catie from Lumina made everything easy from start to finish. We quoted three other companies and Lumina's proposal and customer service were the best. Installation was simple, they took care of all the admin work and stayed on top of the project, and now the panels are rocking and rolling in time for spring. Would recommend!

I was absolutely delighted with our Lumina Solar experience here in Pennsylvania. Matt Dier was our guide throughout the entire process and he was knowledgeable, dependable, attentive to all details, and responsive to my many rounds of questions. I appreciated his customer focus. He provided us a range of options for our house and worked with us to determine the best solar arrangement for our particular situation. Once we agreed upon a plan, he helped us understand what to expect at every stage, from payment and financing to installation to SRECs. When I had a question about one aspect of our solar installation on the day the panels were being installed, Matt looked into the question immediately, got back to me right away, and fully explained that aspect of the installation. The installation team too, described what they were doing and took time to educate us about the system configuration. It is such a pleasure to interact with professionals like Matt Dier and a top-notch company like Lumina Solar and I give them my highest recommendation!

Awesome Experience

We can't thank the Lumina Solar Team enough for our experience in the move to Go Solar! We started our journey with many questions, and Ryan and his team took time to explain details, educate us on our roof orientation with pictures to ensure we understood what we were purchasing, and remained available for any questions we had throughout the process. The installation team was prompt, friendly, and ready to answer any questions on the day of installation. My husband, who is always very skeptical when we make major moves like switching to solar, was so impressed with the team he got out the grill and invited the crew to stay for a quick bite to eat when our 1-day installation was complete. Excellent Local Company with Personalized Service

Lumina is a first-class organization with an excellent product and process. Let me explain. My first interaction made me feel like a valued customer. Tim Cooke was my contact from the beginning to the end. He had prepared a detailed, personalized strategy for me. However, it was not final but further customized based on our interaction. He provided me high-quality details and summary of our conversation. Further, he stood behind his product and value in a way that was not a high-pressure sales routine but in a way that invited me to do my homework and compare. When I did further research, I found that the panels and inverters were rated among the best in the industry and the installation practices were also high quality. Tim was very patient and was always available. He answered all questions quickly. After agreeing to work with Lumina, Cory and Bryan inspected the property and did the necessary groundwork to get the documentation needed for the permits. Lumina employees cleaned if any attic insulation is removed. They answer questions. And, they also believe in the product and have their own system. Next came working with all of the county permits, electric company, HOA, etc... Tons of paperwork that Lumina handled and then scheduled my installation. I was able to interact with a few more folks, Erika, Jarid, and Mark who updated me for various parts of the project. All were professional and prompt. Next, Lumina sent the installation crew. This crew worked independently and, due to COVID, kept safe distances. There was not any flaws or damages. All work was completed on time. Finally, the system was inspected and operational. Throughout the entire process, Tim was always available for questions. I was kept updated. I think this is the best possible experience one can have. I highly recommend this company and their products. Now, looking forward to enjoying my investment for many, many years.

Great team, great installation experience

We had a solar system installed this winter. Alex and his team were very professional. The entire process was easy and streamlined. We ran into weather issues (snow) the first day, and the team was still able to get everything done on time. All members took the time to explain what they were doing, and anything I needed to do (which was surprisingly very little). They even went out of their way to fix an unrelated wiring issue in my electrical box, free of charge. I can't recommend them enough.

Lumina Solar is Top Notch

Did a fair amount of research and competitive bidding and ended up selecting Lumina. They weren't the lowest bidder but their technical approach was superior to the competition which made up my mind, they were also helped by all of the negative reviews of the competition. Worked with Shane and his team, communication was great and responsive. Their installers were very professional and they got my system installed in a day and a half. They take extra care to hide a lot of the interconnections resulting in a very clean looking system. Its up and running now with no issues.

Very happy with our solar rig in Silver Spring!

Working with Alex and the rest of the Lumina team exceeded my expectations. I had a lot of questions about solar energy and the installation process. Alex answered all of them promptly and clearly. Great All Around Experience

I got 30 panels installed by Lumina. They were great the whole way through. I could not recommend them more highly. Shane was a great rep and guided me through the whole process. They were super responsive and the panels look and work great!

Enjoyed working with Lumina

Worked with Lumina on two Tesla Powerwalls installed at a new home we built. They worked with our builders, the electricians and our solar provider to get the batteries integrated. They have been helpful on providing on-going support as we have worked on tweaking the setup. They also had a competitive price. Would recommend them for a Powerwall install.

Incredibly easy process, great sales experience

While looking for a solar installer, I spoke to 4 companies to make sure I was able to make an informed decision. After considering each proposal I ended up going with Lumina Solar - they provided the most comprehensive proposal at a reasonable price and seemed the most knowledgeable about local regulations out of the companies I interviewed. Alex, the sales rep I worked with, was up front and honest with me throughout the entire process. It was a zero pressure customer experience, which was not true with some of the other companies I received proposals from. Once I signed off on Lumina's proposal the entire process went smoothly, from the inspection to the installation to getting permission to operate. I would recommend this company to anyone who is interested in having solar panels installed on their home.

Wonderful experience with Lumina

Lumina and our rep, Alex Ticu, have both been exceptional throughout the sales and installation process. From the beginning, Alex was very clear in explaining the equipment and setting reasonable expectations for both the financial aspects of the system and the timetable of installation. He has also been very responsive and patiently answered all of my questions. Alex walked us through our options for solar panels and size of system and at no time did we feel pressured into anything. Alex would give us the facts along with his recommendation, but let us make our own decisions without pressure. We ended up going with Silfab 300W panels across two roof tops. It took just over two months from signing the contract to having the system up and running. The installation team was also great and completed the entire installation in a single day. Aesthetically, the system looks great. We especially like the all black panels and how the array was installed centered left-to-right and top-to-bottom on the roof. We're looking forward to much smaller electricity bills

Their proposal was clear, the price was reasonable, they kept in touch and were patient when our construction was stalled. Their onsite staff was very professional. Great company

These guys are great. I was originally approached by another company by a door to door salesman. Their approach was a hard sell and they turned me off. I looked up other companies and saw that Lumina was highly rated, so a contacted them. Good move. Alex was a smart and concise salesman. I told him no BS, just give me the details. 30 minutes later we had a deal. Lumina took care of all the permits and tax incentives. Panels were installed a month later, and the inspections and everything a week later. Now I'm running with solar electricity and I can watch the performance I have gained on a website. Top class company.

Great Customer Service Experience!

Getting solar panels through Lumina Solar was easy and quick. Everyone we met through the process, including our consultant Alex, was helpful and made the process painless.

Could not have been better

We began our journey to go solar by attending a webinar hosted by an organization named SolarizeDelco (Phila. suburbs) in the Spring of 2020. These folks promote solar projects, and have experience with vetted contractors. My biggest concern about investing this money was to get a top notch contractor who would provide quality products, and install them properly. Lumina Solar was recommended. I began a relationship with salesperson Alex Ticu. He was very informative, and provided us not only with information but also the sense that he’d be someone who would be good to work with. The 2 things that I think best characterize Lumina are the responsiveness and thoroughness of the sales and office personnel, and the professionalism present in the work of the installers. Our installation was completed in early August. I think we need to go through an entire annual cycle before we can compute savings, but frankly we did this more to be environmentally responsible than to save money. I can say that the outstanding communications we’ve had with Alex (both pre- and post-installation), and the quality installation we received, give us great confidence that we made the right decisions: to go solar, and to go with Lumina. We highly recommend this company.

We couldn't be happier with our experience with Lumina Solar and our account rep Alex. They went above and beyond and listened to our questions and concerns. Installation was smooth and easy, and they handled the paperwork process as well. We priced out several different companies and Lumina worked with us on price when we decided we liked their product the best. So glad we made this decision!

Even my friends were impressed.

I looked at several different solar installers located in DC, MD, and VA. A friend of ours recommended Lumina. From the very beginning, Lumina was by far the best when it came to responsiveness, quotes, project timeline estimates, and generation projection. Their solar estimation tool gave me the confidence that the install would go well. The installation crew was awesome. They were considerate, fast, and clearly experts at their work. I had seen some sloppy installations with pipes and wires everywhere on other buildings. Lumina had no such problems. I am ecstatic with the clean look and installation that the installers and electricians were able to provide. Several key points stood out for me when working with the Lumina team. They have a lot of people behind the scenes making the install go smoothly. From the design, permitting, installation, approvals, and utility cut-over, I felt completely secure in the team’s ability to execute. As a comparison, several other friends who installed solar had very different experiences, including no fixed point of contact (Lumina provides a project manager), to contract work crews (Lumina’s installers were all team members), and final interconnect (Lumina had everything scheduled within a couple days). I would not hesitate to use Lumina for any future solar project I may require.

Great experience with Lumina Solar - first rate service

This was an excellent experience, from the initial work with the sales team, to the installers, to the office staff. The plan went through several iterations at my request to compare efficiencies and return on investment and Alex, our rep, managed it very well. The installers were efficient, shared pictures with me of their progress and the final array of panels. Since it is on the roof of my two story house, I can't see it from the ground and it was really nice to see the final product. The office staff took care of all the regulatory and administrative requirements- completely seamless, including setting up my account to trade SRECS at the conclusion of the project. This company was great to work with and I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. A final note: it took Pepco some time to bank my excess production credits, but now I have all the electricity I need, including charging my electric vehicle, and for the past 4 months, my total bill has come to $13.93 - $500 less than the corresponding period before the system was put in. Overall, I saved $1500 in my first year with the system and that will likely go up this year. Lumina was careful not to over promise on the KW the system would produce and the system has exceeded those estimates every month. I am delighted with outcome and with Lumina.

Amazingly fast and helpful

The people were very responsive and helpful to someone who's never had any experience with Solar. I appreciated their guidance and patience during the whole process.

When we started looking for a solar vendor, I was surprised by the large numbers of them out there. But Lumina stood out from the beginning, largely because they came highly recommended by a friend I trust implicitly. Even without his endorsement, I'm confident I would have gone with Lumina anyway. In the end, I'm very glad I did, and here are some of the reasons why: 1. They're knowledgeable, courteous, prompt, and professional. These traits apply to everyone I've dealt with in their organization, from top to bottom. 2. Their prices are competitive. 3. If you live in Baltimore City, they can get it done for you. I spoke to at least half a dozen vendors who said you simply can't get solar if you live in Baltimore City. But in a world of increasing competition in this space, they also stand out for what matters the most - they're good at what they do and they stand by their promises.
