Lumina Solar is great!

I spoke with five different solar companies before deciding to go with Lumina Solar and I am thrilled with my decision. I chose Lumina because they really focused on the data and were less "pushy" compared to the other companies I spoke with. I really like the projected cash flow chart they provided which shows predicted levels of solar output and the associated offset of energy costs. Shane was super helpful walking me through the proposal and the specifics of how everything worked and answering the dozens of questions I threw at him throughout the process. Miranda in scheduling was great and the inspection/installation crew was awesome. I was kept up-to-date with every step of the process and everything went very smoothly. I strongly recommend Lumina Solar if you�re looking to install solar panels!

Great service, great price

"We looked at a few solar providers and Lumina struck a perfect balance for us with good price and fantastic service. Tim was extremely helpful as we were picky about how we wanted our solar panels placed but were blocked by metal pipes in our roof. Tim helped us find a contractor who was willing to move them for us so we can have the panels straight across and we are thrilled with how it turned out. Would highly recommend this company to anyone!"

Lumina Solar was awesome! From the very beginning they were up front and honest about the process and walked us through everything. Our representative, Luisa, was particularly great and was very communicative and available at all hours for any questions we had. They handled everything and made switching to solar very simple and easy.

Best project mgmt and customer service

Lumina Solar did a fantastic job of managing the installation and operation of my solar panels, batteries, and car charger. Every part of the project was expertly managed and any questions or concerns were dealt with quickly so I was never in the dark about what was happening. We've had our panels and car charger installed since Dec 2020 and our batteries installed since June 2021. They even handled most of the documentation that was needed for state and local tax credits which made it super easy to get the financial incentives straight. I wouldn't go with anyone else for my next solar needs.

The time is now!

We had a fantastic experience with Lumina Solar - we live in Columbia, MD - and Lumina completed all the paper work to have our project pass the homeowner association reviews. Everything went like clockwork - from the initial consultation, the design meeting, the installation, the inspections - that day we got to flip the switch! Our system is designed to generate about 110% of our annual needs (and note - we have 2 EVs - think of that - powering the house and our vehicles). Plus Lumina supports WTMD... where we originally heard about them. The time is right - with the efficiency and cost of panels, federal tax credit, state incentives, the low interest rates and SRECs still to be had - call them today!

Such an amazing experience!!

We want to give a huge shout out to a Lumina Solar company, who installed our solar panels, and Matt, who’s been with us through the whole process!! When we got this house, we knew immediately that we want to install solar panels – we do not have even an inch of shade! So, I started my research. And while a lot of companies for some reasons did not get me serious, and were not very interested in talking to me, and promised that they will come back with a design system and then never showed up…Matt came on our first call all prepared and ready to go: even the whole system was already designed!! He spent about 4 hours with us answering all our questions and explaining every little detail. Everything was so clear to us by the end of the call, that the very next day we signed up the contract. Yesterday we turned on our panels!!! After we signed the contract, Lumina Solar took care of everything for us: from tons of application to all the permissions and finally - installation. So all we had to do is keep bothering Matt with questions!!:) and be sure Matt was right there for us 24/7, which totally amazed us. So huge thank you to Lumina Solar and Matt!!!

Excellent Experience

I am very happy with my Lumina Solar system. Alex was my project manager. Before our first call, he was ready with a satellite picture of my house that showed how much sun and shade my roof received and what my options were. He patiently went through each option, answering all of my many questions, and designed a system that met with my needs. Miranda took care of all of my paperwork and followed up with me as needed to ensure that I stayed on track. The installers were polite and efficient. I was at ease with all of them. They also answered my many questions. I needed to have some of the drywall cut out for a new electric panel. They cleaned up after themselves, vacuuming the bedroom for me. Their online portal is easy to use. I can see each panel working and how much my system is producing on a hourly to yearly basis. They are highly recommended.

Honestly Call Lumina Solar and Save $$ with honest sale people

If you are looking to go solar you must talk to Colin Gload at Lumina Solar. When I was shopping for a solar system I was going to go with the first fast talking salesperson that seemed like they had a good deal. Thank God I talked to Colin before signing with the other company. Colin from Lumina Solar told me the truth about solar. Honestly goes along way, he took the time to explain all of my tax credits the other company was trying to take from me and turn over to themselves. All together he saved me $20,000.00 in tax credits and rebates and that does not include my yearly savings on electricity and my yearly SERC ( old electric bill from BGE was between $300-$500 monthly now I only pay a $8.65 service fee and BGE pays me about $150.00 a year true numbers). 4 years later one of my solar panels stops working. My panel was under warranty but the panel company was no longer in business. Colin and Lumina Solar did not walk away from this problem. They worked it out to replace the damaged solar panel at no cost to me. Even after the sale is made any they get your money Lumina Solar will still treat you like a new customer. In today’s world of poor customer service and even poorer sales practices made to mislead you, it was wonderful meeting Colin Gload and Lumina Solar, I even offered Colin a job at my company but he loves his work in solar. The average person does not have the time or knowledge to understand all the workings in solar discount, credit, wattage, inverters, SREC, etc but you will be responsible when you sign the contract, so take a few minutes to call Lumina Solar. You have nothing to loose, Colin saved me over $20k and I own my system and it pays me every year. CALL Lumina Solar—you won’t be disappointed!

Lumina Solar was a great overall experience. My salesman was Alex. He listened to me, answered questions honestly and was very knowledgeable. I did a lot of research before buying and Lumina was the company I was most comfortable with. They were helpful throughout the process. The installers were professional and polite. Highly recommended

My cousin encouraged me to go solar based on her great experience and led me to one of my own. She put me in touch with Catie Meck, who was my Solar Consultant and point person through the whole process. She explained it clearly and shared the benefits in way that just made sense. She and her team took care of everything from getting approval from my HOA (Thanks Brooke) to consulting with roofers concerning the age of my roof. It's been two weeks and we are using energy from the panels almost daily. Can't wait until I see my next bill. I highly recommend going solar and letting Lumina Solar help you get there

Great Company And Overjoyed With Our Choice

We knew very little about solar power when we first started researching companies. That changed very quickly after our first estimate from a different company. Didn't go well at all! We started doing a lot more research and gathering questions we needed answered before we would proceed with installing a solar powered system. Along comes Lumina Solar and our sales representative, Phil Jordan. Phil took the time to explain the process. Explained the setup of their system and the differences between their system and the other solar companies system. Any question we had, Phil would get back to us with an answer... most of the times he would immediately respond, not necessarily with the answer, but that he would look into what we had asked. Weekends, late at night, early in the morning... didn't matter. Phil got back to me, which was very much appreciated! He definitely went above and beyond and continues to do so! I feel like I've developed a friendship with Phil and he has my back and best interest in mind when responding to questions! Phil has gotten back to my texts while on vacation and while he was at a wedding!!! What more could you ask for?!?! Our decision to go with Lumina Solar was based off of five factors. The first and probably most influential component was that Lumina uses Enphase Microinverters on the back of each panel to convert the sun's energy into usable energy in the home. 80% off the market for inverters for solar panels are controlled by two companies. Enphase and SolarEdge. Enphase uses the microinverters on the back of solar panels and SolarEdge uses power optimizers which then feed to a single inverter. (Inverters convert the DC energy of the sun's rays to AC energy, which can then be used by the the appliances in your home). While doing research on Enphase and SolarEdge, I found that the failure rate for SolarEdge inverters and power optimizers were much higher than the failure rate of the Enphase Microinverters (See mcelectrical.com.au/solaredge-inverter-optimiser-review/ for the article I'm referring to). Other sites also referred to the higher failure rate of SolarEdge inverters. If the inverter goes bad, the whole system is down until that inverter is repaired or replaced. If a Microinverter, from Enphase, goes down, it only affects that panel ( the app will tell you exactly which panel it is) and the rest of the system continues to operate normally. The second factor was the racking system used to attach the panels to the roof. Lumina uses the Flash LOC system, by Unirack, which does not require lifting the shingles to attach the brackets to the roof. The screw goes through the bracket, into the shingle and the into the rafters of the roof. The bracket is then back filled with a caulk that is water proof and seals the penetration made by the screw. The other racking system lifts the shingle, puts flashing under the lifted shingle which has a bracket attached to it. I just didn't like the idea of lifting t

Great service from a great company

We recently turned on our panels after a Lumina installation. This place is full service. The process of putting up panels takes a ton of steps - inspections before and after, tons of paperwork, and it is complicated. Lumina takes care of it all - I get things scheduled at my convenience, forms filled out and sent to me for approval, and Luisa available and responsive every step of the way. From the opening consultation, in which she provided as much data and details as I asked for, I felt in good hands. Then the parade of inspectors, engineers, and workers came in and I always had friendly and knowledgeable help. My one critique is that from my look at the numbers, I think they overestimated the cost of electricity a bit, which makes the gains from solar look even better than they are, but according to my estimates based on their numbers, it is still a smashingly good investment, in addition to being good for the world. one final note - there was one problem after installation with my AC - they sent people out immediately and reimbursed the cost of the inspection. I was so happy to work with and feel I am in good hands going forward.

Lumina Solar all the way!!

I recently went with Lumina Solar to install my solar rooftop system for my home. They did an in depth initial presentation to teach my wife and I about solar, how it works, purchase/lease options and different equipment options. They sell on service but also gave us a very competitive price on our system. The initial presentation provided hard numbers explaining all the different rebates, SREC, and tax credits to show us our net cost on the system and explore financing options. All of this was virtual due to COVID and the paperwork/permitting process moved forward very smoothly. Communication was great. They installed our system in one day and the install crew was very professional and explained everything they were doing throughout the day. There was a small issue on the electrical inspection and Lumina sent out one of their service managers quickly to correct it so the inspection passed. They've been great and have been assisting still with submitting paperwork for the state and county tax credits. Its a little scary having a company screw solar panels into your roof. There's lots of opportunities for problems to arise if they don't know what they're doing. Lumina is the way to go if they do work in your area. Everyone I've dealt with has been extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy. Their high review ratings showcase what I'm saying. Honestly can't say enough good things about them. We are very happy with the system and confident that if issues arise, Lumina will be there to promptly address.

Fast, Efficient, and Friendly

We had 29 panels installed today (5/27/21), and the Lumina team arrived early & immediately set to work. The team lead explained what to expect during install, where things were going & how it would work. They were fast and professional, got the whole thing done in a day! Very positive experience!

We recently went live with a 13.3 kW system and 2 Tesla Powerwalls in South-Eastern PA. Lumina Solar asked me to post feedback about my experience with them and here it is (and no, I am not compensated for that in any way): The collaboration with Lumina Solar went really well. The sales process was straight forward and Philip answered all our questions accurately and timely which gave us confidence. He also very closely oversaw the project from beginning to the go-live and responded to our inquiries along the way very quickly (i.e. same day). The installation team was cooperative and respectful, flexible in their scheduling (we were limited to a certain week, but they had no problem with it and adjusted their plans) and the installation itself took less time than expected. The panels look great on the roof and the inspection went smoothly. When the Tesla Powerwalls were backordered, Lumina informed us about that early on and offered us the option to install panels and Powerwalls at separate times (which we declined). Overall our journey with Lumina Solar was a very positive experience, so I am giving them 5 stars.

I found Lumina via an on-line service and they exceeded expectations. From the project manager to the installers, they demonstrated attention to quality and customer service. This was a big project for me and my family. I felt like a partner in the process. Alex Ticu answered all my questions and kept things on track.
