Best decision I have in a long time, great quote, great installation and my bill has decreased just as described during the planning. If you want a great system with fast install and quality products, go with these guys. Jason was great, very knowledgeable. I am a very happy customer, hard to get that type of service these days..

Extremely Professional and Very Happy Long Term

We had our solar panels put in four years ago. Longhorn Solar was very professional, told us exactly what we could expect, and everything that they promised happened exactly as planned. Whenever the panels have a problem, which is rare, Louis is on site ASAP to get things working. Annually, he even assists us with the government forms that were required to meet our rebate qualifications. I am very happy we chose Longhorn Solar, and I plan to use them again in the future!

Best decision I made in 2013!

I used Longhorn Solar to install my solar panels. Jay was extremely helpful and not pushy at all. I don't like pushy sales people and I was happy to have Jay walk me through the pros and cons of solar panels. Longhorn had the best quote and Jay seemed more informed than the other solar panel company. This has been the best decision I made in 2013. I have not had one single electric bill since my install. Feels good to have one less bill to worry about. (:

If you are going with these guys, talk to Joe. He's their best employee & has the utmost dedication to customer. Others(i don't want to name names but you know who you are) are worst & never call you back. It's not like they are doing it for free !!

Couldn't ask for a better experience.

Longhorn Solar Rules! They let me take part in planning out the whole thing and even got me a Generac GenReady load center at no extra charge. They wired all sorts of extra's for my server-closed too. Working with both my salesman (Jay) and the entire install team (all 20 of them knocked out my huge install in a single day) was a really fun and awesome experience. I am having a lot of things done to my house, and of all the companies I have worked with, Longhorn has been by far the best. Their price was the best of all my bids as well (and others were not willing to through in all my extras), so you can't go wrong.

Jumping into Solar Power head first

We had been considering the installation of a Photo Voltaic system for quite some time, but had always put it off due to the cost. After attending the 2013 Solar Tour put on by Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC), we re-calculated the numbers and they now made sense. We looked five different companies and received proposals from the two that came out on top based on internet reviews (both were on PEC's list of trusted installers). We chose Longhorn Solar after talking to a number of folks that have had systems installed by them. Their pre- and post- sales communications prior to the install were good, and they were willing to work with our schedule for installation during our planned vacation days. As installation day neared, the weather turned and the schedules were pushed. The folks at Longhorn Solar were able to work the schedule to allow the install to occur while we were at home. The day of the install, a crew of seven showed up on time and, despite the cold and windy weather, managed to install the entire system in 1 day, staying late into the evening to ensure everything was finished up correctly. Our system consists of 56 260W panels from RenaSola feeding two Aurora PVI-6000 inverters by Power-One. Even in the gloomiest of days, the system still produces an impressive amount of energy, pushing power into the grid even at dusk, after sunset. If I have any "needs improvement" comments about Longhorn Solar, it would be the internal communication seemed to have been a bit off regarding the Interconnect Agreement with PEC, as well as my request to be notified prior to charging my credit card was missed a couple of times. However, overall, the folks at Longhorn Solar were professional very responsive. More than a week into operation now, and all seems well. PEC has installed the Interconnect Power Meter at their service drop and the system is producing. It is pleasing to see the meter actually "spin" backwards. I have also been able to connect my inverters to my computer to download the daily power production. It is important to do your own research about your solar system install before proceeding. Educate yourself regarding how these systems operate (even if only the general overview). If I had to do it over, I would choose Longhorn Solar without hesitation.

Overall very happy with system and service...communication got a little fuzzy between install and inspect, but otherwise very happy.

Solar installation and operation

I had researched solar power two years earlier and decided against it because of costs. Longhorn's partnership with PEC and reduced material costs made procuring/installing a system within our financial reach. Their Proposal was well clear. When they agreed to an installation date, they arrived on time, worked much of the day, cleaned up after installation and when they left it was operating. Thus far (Sep-Nov 2013) our electric bills show a 63% reduction in cost. I sized the system to break even with electrical costs by the end of the year. Using this approach Longhorn's ROI was 8-9 years. Based on our current bills (Sep-Nov 2013), I full expect to cut that ROI at least in half. Very happy with the system and Longhorn Solar.
