Very disappointed
Thaws started our solar last September we still have nothing going. Attorneys are now going to be involved. They do not answer phones or return calls. Worst service I have ever experienced with anything.I can’t even submit this without giving zero stars.

Technicians that install are efficient . However , they left without helping me to learn how to manage the monitor or to download the App to monitor . There was no response from the Consultant when I wanted to bring up the issues including the promise on giving rebate to the one who introduce me to LA group .

Find a reliable company instead!
Save yourself a lot of headache and find a different company for your solar needs. This is the most unreliable company I have dealt with. They keep holding up my construction, promise that they will come and do their work and then never show up. No calls to let me know they will no-show again. I’m in contract with LA Solar and I regret this choice every day. It is messing up my entire construction project. Terrible.

6 months and counting to finish punchlist/clean up items
I spent $50k on a system with them. It was installed in April. Here it is mid-October and they have still not finished the punchlist/cleanup items, although I have talked to them God knows how many times, and their guys have come over a half dozen times but it never gets finished. Finally, even though the job is not complete, they said for the first time that if I don't pay the final bill of $500 today, they will cut off my service. I am so done with this company.

Another nightmare story
I have been working with LA Solar (I.E. Bay Solar Group) for the last 7 months on the installation of a battery backup system for which they have collected $35,500 from me. I still do not have PTO from PGE after the installed system failed their inspection last month. The system installed did not follow the design plan we agreed upon, and correcting this problem has been hell. The agreed upon plan included 3 Tesla Powerwalls and 3 electrical panels (PV sub panel, Gateway, and service sub panel). My specific concern was the installation of panels on the front of our house, and I rejected all plans that required more than one box in front of our gate. After installation I came outside to realize that 3 panels were installed at the entrance of our home. In total, and in stark contract the the plan I was presented, we now have 8 new electrical panels installed on our house. This includes 3 AC disconnect switches, 1 NGOM meter, 1 gateway, 1 PV sub panel, 1 Solar/Powerwall sub panel, and 1 service sub panel). I was told "the installers know better than the design engineers what is required," which makes me wonder why they even bother with having customers go through a design phase. I offered to walk away from the extra box issue for a $1250 refund in order to build a "doghouse" around the 3 panels at the front of our house, but they requested to do it themselves. We made this agreement on April 6th... and I included pictures of where that project is at after 2 days of work and 1 no-show visit. Instead of completing this project themselves (after their tech also no-showed), they outsourced to a handyman service in the East Bay. They also agreed to paint the installed conduit, but when this was completed, they had carelessly painted our copper gutters and completely ignored a section on our second story. Since their work can't be trusted (pictures, again), I'm correcting this part myself. Over the course of this project LA Solar has scheduled 5 site visits that either LA Solar or their contractor no-call no-showed for. Twice PG&E has showed up at my house for an inspection/install I was unaware of, and, just yesterday, PG&E showed up to install a required meter but had to leave as LA Solar no-showed and was unreachable all day by phone. We attempted to reach the assigned tech, project manager, and chief of staff, none of which answered phone calls or e-mails. I haven't heard from any of them after a separate appointment was no showed Monday. Their work is careless and shoddy, installers are rude and challenging to communicate with, and leadership is operating remotely from LA. There is little/no quality assurance on the ground and you're on your own to raise issues and fight for corrections. At this point I have not heard from my original sales rep Ryan since I brought up issues in March, and instead I'm communicating with a different project manager (DJ), and the chief of staff (Stan). Despite this, the same issues persist and repeat themselves

Great company, prices and customer service...
About 5-years ago I met with Gary from LA Solar Group and that was the beginning of a great relationship. I had about a 10KWh system installed with micro-inverters and it has worked flawlessly creating on average 16MWHh of power annually. I have been referring people to them ever since. So, I decided it was time to add battery storage. I worked with Pat at LA Solar and went with three Tesla Powerwalls. They have worked flawlessly for the past seven months. I have been referring people to them every since the install. I am only hoping to get the SGIP rebates figured out with the administrative staff at LA solar, as that has been my only issue that has caused me some grief. I am hopeful for a quick resolution, and would love to update the review with the results. LA Solar has always been top-notch with equipment, installation, pricing and customer service. I am sure the SGIP Rebate issue can be resolved in a brief period. Thanks again LA Solar, as I know you are a truly a great company, and laser focused on customer service.

Ryan Mckovich for Solar MVP:)
The crews who did the design and install were very professional, courteous, explained options and choices very clearly, and were always looking out to minimize disruptions and inconvenience to us along the way. But what really makes this a 5 star review is Ryan Mckovich, who was our Solar Consultant. Absolutely phenomenal!!! I had 1000 questions for him before, during and after the project, and he was **always** terrifically responsive. Always got back to me rapidly with a response, or clarifying how he'd track it down or get it done. Can't say enough how much potential anxiety and frustration that he made disappear over and over. All of this while the schedule took us into the virus shutdown here in LA, and the crews kept up with their work, and Ryan didn't miss a beat. On top of all of that, at the end, when it was time for me to fill out rebate paperwork, I couldn't do it, because, being unable to go into the office, I had no way of printing out the forms -- the city required "wet" signatures. Ryan printed the docs on his own, and sent them to me in the mail, so I could get my refund $$ asap! Standing ovation for Ryan!!!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, John! Ryan is more than happy to hear this from you.

Very responsible company, caring about customer
We found this company last year based on their review on Yelp. For our solar system, we did shop around with 20 companies at the same time and finally, we chose LA SOLAR GROUP ( SOLARM INC) to install our solar system. We worked back and forth to write a contract that meets all my requirement and we got mutual agreement. They upgrade my main panel, upgrade my sub-panel with 200 amps breaker, an install charging station for my electric car with dedicated over the headline and separate meter for that. Also, they install my solar system. The employee was very professional, knowledgeable and polite. They were very clean during and after work. They care about my property during and after work. Any whole they made it for their work, the painted the same as the original. Quality of their work was very good. After a year, we decided to move some of my panels to make a space to install a solar water heater. I called them and asked them for help ASAP. They responded very quickly and moved those solar panels for me FREE OF CHARGE. This company care about their customer and I highly recommended. Mr.Ara, the CEO of the company personally listen to the customer and always have a solution for your needs. We referred them to more than 10 of our friends and our friends were very happy with them.

A Nightmare of an Experience
After doing a good deal of research on solar panels, energy efficiency, and solar providers in LA, we decided to go with LA Solar Group as our provider. We received competing quotes and had several "appraisals" of our roof indicating that our roof would be stable enough for solar panels. On the day of the install, LA Solar drilled multiple holes through the ceiling in FIVE different rooms of our home; they didn't even notice their mistake, and would have continued drilling hole after hole through our ceiling were it not for my wife notifying them of their serious mistake. They did a sloppy and careless job patching the holes, with sealant looking through onto a brand new rug in our office. Post install, we began to experience leaks throughout our home, and it seemed like every time LA Solar went on our roof to correct and fix their mistake, they created more issues, whether that was drilling even MORE holes in our ceiling, or incorrectly installing flashing on our roof and on our chimney. Their work was shoddy and substandard, and of course, they're now repudiating all responsibility for the leaks in our roof. It's been over a year, and we continue to experience leaks and less-than-optimal solar production due to the fact that we've had to put tarps on our roof to prevent the leaks (LA Solar had to come out three separate times to re-tarp the roof because they couldn't figure out how to apply a simple tarp to a roof). At this point, LA Solar has cut off all communication with us and has abandoned their obligations. They are in breach of their roof-leak warranty and the guarantees in our contract, and refuses to reimburse us for repairs that we've had to undertake as a consequence of their low quality workmanship. They don't care about you after they get paid; their salespeople will say anything to get you to sign. Their communication post-install (even before the leak problems) is substandard and far below expectations.

Stop here. Look no further
This company is the gold standard of what companies should be. Quality from sales to installation to problem solving. (Even with a problem NOT caused by them) the workers are clean, nice and professional. We called them with a leak (NOT their fault) they sent Gonzalo out. He was here 3 hours. Found the problem. Fixed it. Showed me at least 3 ways what caused the problem. Again NOT their fault and took the time to fix it and then didn't charge me. I actually wish the leak had been their fault because I know they would have painted my ceiling AND done it right. Now I have to try to find a painter that is at least 1/2 as professional and good as LA solar is. (Good luck to me!) Everything has gone fantastic. I would hire them again in any house anytime anywhere. I would invite any employee into my home that I have met for a family dinner even if my grandparents were coming lol. They are kind people that act professional and with class.

Easy to work with
I shopped solar pretty rigorously and LA Solar was able to deliver on pricing and they offer the best warranties. Joe Hawley, the salesman, has been in the industry for over a decade and was able to educate me and answer all of the questions that I had. I ended up going with the Panasonic 330 panels, they cost more, but you don''t need as many and they are a much better product. As far as installation, the roofing foreman was James, the solar electrician was Vahag and the main panel upgrade electrician was Joseph. They all did a great job leaving my house clean and in good shape when they left. The whole process was quick and easy. I''m very happy with my decision to work with LA Solar. They''re a big company, but not big enough to treat you like the big corporate solar companies treat you.

Best Solar Company Ever
I am so thrilled to write a review for LA Solar Group. I used this company because I found them on yelp with all 5 star reviews and I am happy to add mine. From the moment that I contacted them they were wonderful. I asked for a quote and within 2 days they had been to my house and gave me by far the best priced quote that i received. I dealt with Toni Miner who should be highly appreciated by management. She is the main reason I purchased my system. She is indispensable and absolutely the main reason I even decided to do solar. She spent a ton of time with me explaining every single thing about my system and making sure I got both the best deal and the best system possible. I asked her 100 questions and she answered every one. She never rushed or pressured me. She was phenomenal. Actually every person I dealt with here was. They got my system up and running within 2 weeks and even installed it when I was on vacation. They did everything they could to rush LADWP to activate it and within a week after install my system is now up and running and out performing what they quoted. The installers were professional and the system looks great. There is absolutely no reason to go anywhere else if you are installing solar. It is rare for a company to care so much about the client that they are in constant contact always asking what they can do to help. This company does that.

LA Solar installed a 9kW system on our home in December 2015. We have worked with many contractors and LA Solar stands out as one that follows through with after installation customer service. We had a monitoring equipment failure -- and LA Solar made sure we had a replacement provided and installed. Ara is the owner and he understands customer service very well. If you are considering solar -- we highly recommend that you have LA Solar bid your project.

Very happy with LA Solar Group
I had my solar panels installed by LA Solar Group. They were very professional and understanding of all my questions and stood ready to address any concerns I had regarding calculating the correct size of my system as well as the installation process. My wife was very concerned with drilling on our roof, but the representative explained very carefully how they operate and why we should not worry. And rightfully so, after the rainiest season in Southern California, we were fine with no issues. Thanks to LA Solar Group, we are worry free and with zero electric bill ! Thank you LASG.

Highly Recommended
I posted this review on the EnergySage website, and am posting it again here because I am very impressed with the LA Solar Group! LA Solar Group placed a bid through my EnergySage account. I contacted most of the companies that had submitted bids, and Vladimir at LA Solar Group was most helpful both in explaining his bid as well as explaining the entire process of installing solar power. The cost of the job - spelled out explicitly in the bid - was highly competitive (I was speaking with Solar City at the same time, and they referred to LA Solar Group's bid as "aggressive") and complete. My situation was near ideal: Four or five years ago I had upgraded my electrical panel to current specs, and at the same time had a new roof installed down to the plywood. That said, the project was six weeks from signing the contract to energy generation. LA Solar Group showed up when they said they would, and were very friendly and efficient during every step of the process. I never met Vladimir face to face, but spoke regularly on the phone with him. He returns calls almost immediately, and takes the time to help you understand the process. LA Solar Group took care of all of the dealings with the City and the Utility. I received emails that allowed me to sign documents and make payments easily and electronically. Of all of the rehab projects I have done on my house, this was by far the smoothest, easiest, and quickest. I highly recommend LA Solar Group for your project. BTW: My system started generating power the final three days of my last bill, and, according to SCE, my electrical bill is DOWN 126% (yes, I'm generating more power than I am consuming) for the current month.

Simply the best!
I have an efficient 14kw system from LA Solar with room for expansion and a EV car charger. LA Solar was, by far, the best solar company I researched. I was so excited to do solar but felt the prices were high, the return on investment took forever and that the companies were "salesy" –like car salespeople. I deeply researched 7 solar companies and my gut didn't feel good about any of them until LA Solar Group. Most of the other companies had to use more panels to deliver less electricity and the warranties and return on investment were not as good. LA Solar was the best rated by customers by far, had a strong financial rating, has been growing consistently and substantially for the last 5 years. Fast forward a year later, and they have been perfectly attentive and my system has been flawless. After LA Solar like the best choice, I walked into the office unannounced. The CEO stopped a meeting to speak to me. He started on the roof installing the first systems himself. He is an ultra-smart guy, very focused on efficiency which is important for long-term survival. He is an electrical engineer by trade and also has a roofing license. Locally they have 8 crews installing full-time. Nothing is subcontracted out. This, to me, is very important. Quality control. The solar designers are engineers. The equipment is from the best manufacturers. They don't spend money on advertising, they get their new business from referrals almost exclusively. This, in combination with efficient and quality processes and equipment, right down the highest quality waterproof washers, is their secret sauce. This is how they get installations done for the lowest cost, the first time, with the least amount of return service calls. In my experience they are honest, transparent, hard working and innovative. I met much of the sales team, the sales manager and the support staff. Hard working, kind and educated people who care. My installation was done a year ago. I went from contract to installation to approvals in less than a month. LADWP now owes me 1600 kwh as of today. I pay 10 dollars a month on my electric bill for connection fees, that's it and my system will be paid off in another 5 years. It was a complete no-brainer. Plus, they listened to my requirements. You cannot see my system from the street, there is room for another row of panels. I was able to have enough space to install thermal pool solar on my north face as well. Perfect. In a sea of questionable companies, I knew they were the best choice and it still holds true today. Solar is not a little decision in my view. You are letting people drill into your roof. For me, I wanted to make sure I had the best people as partners, so I was always proud driving into my garage and that's exactly what I have with LA Solar. Here is a link to my FB page with some public pictures.

LA Solar did a very good job
I started looking for Solar in 2014. I has several companies come over and a few gave me quotes based on satellite photos. LA Solar was near the lowest bid but the main reason I went with them is all the positive reviews on Yelp. I signed a contract with them and after all the permits were in place they installed the system. It was turned on not long afterwards and has been working very well with the exception of a faulty inverter a year later that they replaced with a newer model. LA Solar has been responsive to my requests and seems to care about their customers.

Not to mention, they went into detail about what was being installed on my roof. I ended up buying a Chevy Volt down the road. Due to their install I save roughly $350/month on my electrical bill, $350/month on not having to buy gasoline. A+, I high recommend them.

From start to finish, my experience w/ LA Solar was great. They were able to get my system approved and installed fairly rapidly, allowing me to claim a tax credit for 2016, instead of having to wait for 2017. 6 months into ownership - no issues w/ my panels and their customer service is top notch. I'm 700 dollars to the good w/ my electric utility and that was through the wettest winter in Southern California History.

LA Solar - the best there is!
We've now had our panels for 2yrs, and they continue to produce above anticipated levels, and completely maintenance free. LA Solar also check in with us from time to time to make sure all is well - and it is! When we started this process, we'd taken numerous bids from the 'big names' when my wife found the Yelp reviews from LA Solar Group, and I gave them a call. They put in a bid, which was substantially better then the 'big names', and provided better quality panels and microinverters in their bid, when the others didn't and still cost more. All the staff there are friendly and knowledgeable, and unlike the big names, they don't hassle and pressure you into decisions. Our installation was fantastic - 1 day for a complete 18 panel installation and main service panel upgrade. 10 days later we had the permit from the inspector, and 3 weeks after that Edison gave us the go ahead. We went from contract to operational in 6 weeks, which is a timeline no-one can promise. They also patched and painted the stucco and conduit to match the house color as part of the service. We've only been online for 7-days now, but the panels are already producing more then anticipated, and we still have spring/summer to come! Make sure you get multiple bids when going solar - there is such a swing in price and quality, but absolutely make sure you get LA solar to bid on your project, you won't regret it. LA Solar Group are *the* standard of excellence.
