Good company! I'm in the construction business and I'm picky. Professional all the way around. They provided an upfront estimate for the power generation. When installed it did not produce the power as the shade from the trees blocked some of the sun. They added 4 more panels at their cost and now I'm producing more than estimated.

Absolutely awesome! Our solar went up so fast, half the time it took our friends to get theirs. We are super happy that we chose Jamar power thanks guys! Will be using them again soon to do some upgraded to our old house

I had a fantastic experience with Jamar Power Systems. Jamar was the ONLY solar installer contractor that I received an estimate from that took the time to get a detailed estimate together and personally review with me every item suggested. Vince thoroughly reviewed their estimate with me and made sure to answer every question that we had regarding our solar installation, products that he proposed for use, and installation and product warranty. Prior to contracting with Jamar, Vince made sure that we were fully educated about solar power and the types of products and installation that were recommended for us based on our property type and location.

I did a lot of research and Jamar was the obvious leader! From their technology to their service. Vince Jakimzak was always available to answer all my technical questions confidently and clearly. Patrick was extremely helpful post installation getting the system up and running and explaining how everything works. He was also easily available. The Star of this installation was Dan! He was the electrician/lead installer who put in the new service panel and directed the other installers. He anticipated future needs of the panel and did an absolutely beautiful job recessing the new panel. He coordinated all the other contractors from the stucco to the roofing and even did the painting himself. He was always happy, helpful and explained everything. Installation was very FAST and ahead of scheduled! I couldn't be more pleased with Jamar! Thank You!!!!

Jamar Power Systems was very knowledgeable and efficient with their presentation and contract. My system was installed on a rear slope below the main house and had to be relocated due to requirements from the City of Encinitas. Jamar was able to get the permits and start with minimal delay, and the construction was completed in a timely manner with no extras, even with the changes. I'm happy with their work and with the Sunpower panels they recommended. It hasn't been a year yet, but it seems to be operating as projected.

I recently had a PV system installed by Jamar Power. The entire experience, from start to finish was very good. Vince explained everything during the proposal process, and Desmon and Rudy handled the permitting and installation. They even worked around my schedule, and pulled off the job for a few days when I had visiting family in town. The installation was very clean, and all conduits painted to match the walls. Best of all, the system is producing slightly more power than predicted by pvwatts.

Of four competing bids, JAMAR Power (Steve Branch) provided the most professional and comprehensive information and estimates. All of our questions were answered. Installation included other electrical panel work and home electrical upgrades (not related to solar). All JAMAR employees provided superb courteous customer service. Service has continued after the sale. We were very satisfied with the entire process and would recommend JAMAR to anyone considering solar.

I went from paying $350.00 to $400.00 a month to paying $10.00 a month. I also received $105.00 at the end of the year.

We are a very careful, research oriented family when we decide to make purchases large and small. We researched the different types of solar products and systems, and selected four contractors to interview. Jamar became our choice because they were very knowledgeable answering my husband's intelligent technical questions easily and accurately and they seemed very upfront and realistic about every aspect of the process - never promising unrealistic desires just to make the sale. In the end our job was consistently completed a bit ahead of the schedule and all of the workmen were polite and obviously knowledgeable workers. People always showed up when they promised and the small details of matching paint to camouflage conduit, etc. were well done. Their price was excellent, too!

I'm super happy with JAMAR and the system they installed. Here's why... 1) The process started with Vince (sales). I spoke with 4 other solar companies before contacting Vince at Jamar. He was by far the most knowledgeable, helpful, and professional of any solar sales representative I spoke with previously. There's no pressure and lots of great information. I asked every question imaginable and Vince patiently answered every one of them. 2) Price. Their price was the best. No gotchas. No pricing escalations. No additional costs at all. 3) Installation. One of my concerns was getting an ugly looking system. By that I mean I didn't want to see silver conduit running across my roof or down my walls. I also didn't want to see the mounting system extending beyond the panels. There's a house in our neighborhood with a system (not installed by Jamar) with these exact problems and it looks terrible. My system, however, looks great. Overall the process went very smoothly. The Jamar team did a good job communicating throughout the project. I'm very happy with Jamar and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Like most people, I started the solar research process online and asked around. I found the online Solar Panel Talk forum and learned a bunch prior to calling for estimates. Through the forum, I learned of this site and Jamar popped up as a highly rated company. I also came across their ad in a local home improvement mailer that piqued my interest. After receiving estimates from 6 or 7 different companies I decided to go with Jamar as the professionalism exhibited by their sales rep Vince sold me. There were other companies with the same or lower pricing but the equipment offered as well as their lack of knowledge and responsiveness sunk them and Jamar rose to the top. The installation went very well and foreman Rudy was top notch. Although my system has only been up and running for a few days now, I am very please with my decision to use Jamar Power Systems.

I found Jamar based on private messages exchanged with other members of Solar Panel Talk and would not hesitate to recommend them to other folks in San Diego. I believe that I ended up with a very quality product with a high quality installation at a reasonable cost.

Vince J. was great during the sales cycle, helping us pick the best system for our house. The installers did a great job as well: they were detail oriented and customer-focused, asking for my input on how I preferred certain setup and keeping me informed of their progress. I was a bit disappointed with the assigned Project Manager as he seemed more like the guy assigned to say, "no" or "may be" to many of our requests. The PM, unlike the rest of the gang, wasn't very customer-focused, trying to address our questions and needs. This lead to some questioning and minor aggravation, but nothing that slowed the project. Nevertheless, the team did a great job with the installation. Overall, we were very satisfied with the installation and are happy with the savings results.

We are very happy with our SunPower Solar Panels from Jamar Power Systems. Jamar installed our solar panels with skill & expertise, as well as a new electrical panel. We chose to lease our system vs purchasing, not wanting to incur debt. Having solar has saved us money during this very hot summer - where we used to pay SDG&E $300 - $400 a month we now have a set fee of a little over a $100 for the next 20 years. We are very happy customers of Jamar Power Systems and would recommend them to friends and neighbors.

We finally decided to add solar to our residence, and having had a great experience with Jamar when we did a major remodel some years ago gave them a call. Their bid was in line with the national installers but we liked the idea of using a local that we already had history with. The install went flawlessly and included some roof work in the price. Once live our monthly bill has gone from around $500 to around $50, not a bad return. The wireless monitoring system is a bit slow to sync the first time and if power is lost, but the electricity is being produced and the link eventually does its thing pretty reliably.

Jim gave us a spot on quote based on our electric usage. The crew was very polite, professional, efficient, on time and happily answered all the questions we had as panels went up. Solar was completed on schedule and job cleaned up daily. After a very heavy rain we noted a small leak. Called jarmar and someone was out the very next day to repair it! We had already gotten quotes from four different companies (two possibles, two obvious no-go's) when a neighbor said we MUST talk to Vince at Jamar Power before signing with anyone else. We were immediately impressed with Jamar: Vince outlined what he thought we needed, answered all our questions and concerns thoroughly and with great patience. We liked that Jamar has a long history in the electrical business and does not subcontract out the work, like many do.  We're old enough to have seen a few economic cycles, and it seems likely that many of today's opportunistic solar companies will disappear after 2016.  Jamar has been successful in the electrical business for many years, and is likely to continue for many more. I'm a geek, and I found the technical stuff fascinating. The SolarEdge system has the advantages of both string and microinverter systems, at reasonable cost, with the MPPT work being done on the roof by intelligent power optimizers, which are very efficient (see Wikipedia on buck-boost converters for more).  The optimizers feed DC power to a string inverter, keeping all the more fragile components in a more sheltered environment off the roof.   My experience with electronics makes me skeptical about longevity claims for the electrolytic capacitors in roof-mounted microinverters. SolarEdge looks to be a well-run, well-capitalized company that is likely to be in business for many years. We went with 24 LG305 panels with SolarEdge power optimizers and SE7600 inverter, a 7.32 kW system adequate to handle our pool and a/c needs.  Panel-level monitoring is provided, so you can show off at lunchtime with your cellphone. Installation dovetailed perfectly with replacement of our aging roof (our roofer Mark Anthony Construction and Roofing, is also a class act that I highly recommend), so the whole project, roof and solar, was all done in 8 days! Everything went perfectly! Because our breaker box was maxxed out, Jamar installed an extra electrical sub-panel at no extra cost.  Everything was done quickly, neatly, no muss, no fuss, and no mess. They explained every component of the system and how to operate it all.  Everything looked great when they finished, and of course it passed inspection.  We were approved and making power two weeks from when they had started work, and less than six weeks after signing a contract, in time to turn the summer sun into money, and be grandfathered into net metering. I just can't say enough about how smoothly and perfectly everything went!  We're usually a little apprehensive about home projects, but this could not have gone better! Jamar Power is an excellent company and I would recommend them to anyone!

No push selling premium products with listening to what we really want. Offered best price and delivered good products. We had them installed 4.8kw system at last year end. With raining and busy schedules they still finished whole project before promised deadline. Had PTO before YE for the tax rebate. Very good communication and responsive. Jamar Power Systems did a great job putting in my Sun Edison solar panels. My situation was tough because they had to put panels on my roof and my hillside. They were awesome! I highly recommend them.

Over the course of 10 months we had taken our time with many Solar Companies. From those that mailed us to those that advertised on TV. Jamar was one of the first we called; we saw their number on a building off the highway! Matt was Great no pressure sales there. He was very patience in answering all of our questions. Even months after our first meeting. He took the time to review all the other proposals’ that we received from buying the system to leasing the system. After 10 months we decided on Jamar and couldn’t be happier! Once we gave the Ok our system was coordinated by Rick. Rick & Matt at Jamar followed through and gave us dates for mapping, install, permits, and start up date of our system for 1 months time out. I was very worried about the install right from the very start. I reed so many horror stories about companies taking months to install and bad reviews of installs and roofs leaking. But I was ensured that Jamer installs these systems for other solar companies as well. You see they have no sub-contracted installers ( as other companies do and ask companies if they install the systems themselves or not) Jamar does everything from start to finish. No Middleman! So we were good to go. Install day came and the crew was on time. They were time everyday and always very professional. They even finished a day earlier even though we had 2 days of rain that would have set them back but didn’t. SDGE was on time for inspection of the system and Jamar passed with flying colors. It was mapped out, installed and approved by SDGE all in 1 week’s time. After having our system for 6 months we are starting to see the savings for us. I just love being able to monitor our system from anywhere. I’m always showing very one what our system is doing on my phone. Jamar is a true leader in Solar. I've wanted solar for the last few years. 4 years ago Jamar had won my business and the. Life circumstances took a change and I had to stop the install. October 2012 I heard of a program called HERO and it would help wipe out my Tax debt and give me the Solar without a lease!!!! That was just what I was looking for. I compared quotes and Jamar won me again. Their outstanding service and installers are the reason I max the stars for them. They are responsive and honest!!! They designed a system that is correctly sized for our home and lifestyle. Work was completed on time and staff is professional. Highly recommend.

I never expected the installation of our system to go in without a hitch, but from the Jamar end of things, it did. I can only find superlatives to use about this company. Their electrician Dan is the hardest and most professional installer I have ever work with. The system is up and running and keeping us in the black (financially!) in spite of the fact that I need to do some tree trimming to optimize the sun light on the panels. If you are thinking solar, think Jamar. Don't think of going anywhere else!

We are so pleased with our system. Purchased a 4.4 KW system and is producing as advertised and guaranteed. After many considerations (8 quotes from 5 different companies) we were most satisfied with Jamar which boiled down to 3 points: 1. They listened to what we wanted, what we could budget and were creative in building the best system 2. All follow up correspondence once the project was underway was outstanding 3. The installer was meticulous, even to the point of painting the conduit on the side of the house the same color as the stucco --great attention to detail. We would recommend Jamar--they stand behind their installs, are a full services elecrical contractor, not just a solar company and honest.

Just finished installation of a 4.8KW system based on LG300N1C panels and SolarEdge inverter in Carlsbad. Overall I'm very satisfied. Being an engineer, I like to research every detail, from selecting panels, inverters, mounting HWs to installation steps and materials. Vince (sales) and Rick (PM) were always patient with me. On top of that, they gave me the most competitive pricing for the system I want. Once the permit was received (which did take some time), the installation was really quick. The installer, Aaron even helped me get on the roof to take some pictures and explained how double flashing help to prevent future roof leaks. When they were done, they cleaned the area and took all the wastes.The performance of the system has so far been much better than what pvwatts estimates. I evaluated 6 different solar installers before selecting JPS last fall. I selected JPS because of expected SDG&E cost reduction and length of payback period, warranties by JPS and SunPower, JPS's rating by Solar Reviews, availability of remote monitoring system, and professionalism of JPS personnel. I was delightfully surprised by the quality and responsiveness of everyone I dealt with at JPS: Vince, Jim, Dan, Amy and Rick. The system looks and works as advertised.

I hate writing reviews, but am making an exception for Jamar Power. Their price was very reasonable for the system they installed. The service was great - I was making solar electricity at least a month sooner than typical rooftop solar power installations. They were completely professional, and did excellent quality work.

Jamar Power Systems designed and installed a complex solar with battery backup system at my home. All their people with whom I had contact, from owner to electrician, were a pleasure to interact with. The company has good depth of knowledge and skill. The negotiation of a contract was pleasant in that it was thoughtful, businesslike, and without any sales pressure. I wanted unusual and very particular customization. It took awhile to have a clear mutual understanding of what I wanted. The company had the patience to work with me in the design stages until the specification was precisely what I wanted in a custom design. Because of the complexity of my roof, we agree that I would hire a roofing contractor to prepare the roof for installation of solar. I also hired a general contractor to oversee everything including the roof contractor and painting by a painting contractor. While I was away, the installation was completed as specified. Upon my return, I was impressed by how neat the installation was. It was as though it had always been there. The work was completed at the contract price. The solar is now functioning as specified. As expected more electricity is produced in the longer days of summer. With the custom battery backup, one can turn off the switch to the SDG&E grid and not even see a light flicker inside the house. In the event of a SDG&E blackout, the house continues to be supplied with electricity from the battery backup which is then recharged by the solar panels. Part of the project included replacing light bulbs with LED bulbs to dramatically reduce power consumption. The completed system is friendlier to the environment and neighbors than having a noisy backup generator fueled by natural gas. Overall, this solar system is an incremental benefit to the environment, it provides electricity to run the refrigerator, gas furnaces, computer, a few lights, phones, etc. during power failures, and its economic return will continue to grow as the cost of electricity goes up.

When I first started looking for solar, I did a lot of research and got 5 quotes. The first one was 50% higher than Jamar. The others were $1,000 to $2,000 more. Jamar also had a much higher quality solar collector system. I needed only 14 panels rather than the 19 recommended by other installers who used cheaper Chinese made panels. I was going on vacation and wanted a "rush" job. Jim pushed everything through and my installation was completed before I left. I had fun tracking my solar production on my iPhone while away. The installers were very professional and answered all my many questions while they were working. I have recommended Jamar to several friends already. The system was installed 2 months ago and I am producing excess electricity which I'm sure I will use in September.

First Class company with excellent communication and quality work performed as scheduled. Lowest quote that I got for the system and I would definitely both recommend this company to others and use them again. Total turnkey operation. Contractor took care of everything except the consumer forms required by SDGE/CSI. They made it easy.

The original panels we wanted couldn`t be manufactured in time, so Jim gave us another option so that we coudl get the installation done. Also, we had a planned vacation in December, and when we communicated that to Jim, he made sure that our installation took place before we left.
