I needed critter guard and an EV charger. Ipsun's bid was about half what my solar panel installer wanted.

Spoiler alert: Ipsun is truly amazing, and I would recommend no one else. After obtaining quotes from over 15 companies in the area, I ultimately decided to go with Ipsun. While they weren't the cheapest, they also weren't the most expensive; they fell on the more affordable end within the middle of the pack. What set Ipsun apart was their extensive knowledge of the technology and their ability to tailor solutions specifically to my situation. They were the ONLY company familiar with Dominion standby fees and helped me avoid them, significantly reducing my ROI timeframe. Moreover, they brought in experts pre-sale to ensure that every aspect of the system design met my expectations and needs. During the installation process, their professionalism shone through. The team working on our house was not only friendly but also took great care to ensure that the installation was clean, serviceable, and seamlessly integrated with my home. I've had neighbors inquire about our solar system, and I always recommend Ipsun without hesitation. Unfortunately, some of these neighbors opted for other companies, including nationally known ones, and are now facing issues such as being charged Dominion standby fees due to poorly designed systems or struggling with support from their installers. Personally, I've only had to reach out to Ipsun once, and they promptly resolved the minor issue, demonstrating their efficiency and dedication to customer satisfaction. Ipsun caters to both residential and commercial clients, and their robust business model indicates their commitment to longevity in the industry. Unlike companies that might simply ride the wave of the solar trend, Ipsun demonstrates solid planning and management, ensuring their longevity. They are knowledgeable both from a business and technical perspective, and their team stays abreast of the latest offerings in the solar industry for the benefit of their customers. I am thoroughly impressed with Ipsun, and as you can tell, I am a very satisfied customer!

My project person delayed the work for almost 5 weeks, would not respond to my emails (still doesn't), and I had to resort to the writing to the web site. He failed to keep track of my project so it did not move to the next step. There were three trips from VA to MD to install the skirting. First time they did not bring enough. Second was not enough that wasn't scratched up. I wasn't here for the last visit and the scratched up piece that I had said not to use was installed. A black magic marker was used to cover the scratches and it is visible from the ground. BGE approved the connection on 7/14. I turned on the switch two different employees told me to turn on when I got the call from BGE. Ipsun's contract reads that they monitor by computer to make sure the panels are properly functioning. Three months and one week later, I got a call that there is a problem with the monitoring application. So they send a guy up to flip another switch. So no monitoring was done for 3+ months, AND I had no solar for those summer months. They still have not set up the program for me to view the status of the solar panels on my laptop. Oh, and when they do call, they do not leave messages and the caller ID reads "name unavailable." Finally, I sent personal checks when required. It took weeks for them to reach Richmond, VA from MD and one they never received. Obviously, the mail people are not too good either.

Everyone I spoke with at Ipsun including the salesperson, technicians, coordinators, electricians, and all the other roles were very professional and helpful. When I had questions they were acknowledged and quickly addressed. I'm happy with the pricing, scheduling was quick and painless, and the array looks great. Thanks again to everyone at the company, I would definitely recommend them if you're interested in solar.

My experience was during COVID so there were delays no fault of their own. Ipsun Solar was fantastic! Once we were a go on everything installation went smoothly but there were some issues with getting permits. The installation was in Maryland Charles County and they worked through the problems to get everything in order. There was also plenty of communication about what was going on with the equipment, installation, and permitting. They were also extremely helpful in any paperwork for the federal and state tax breaks. The only issue beyond that is that the squirrel guard started to come off but they came out later and fixed it. I needed some panels removed they came out quickly to remove them and then reinstall them quickly. I have had zero issues with how the system works and am completely satisfied.

Ipsun was by far the best of all the installers with whom I met - zero pressure tactics, highly realistic assessment of my solar potential and walked through my options in great detail. The actual install process was completely painless, over in just a few days and I was up and running! Have not had a problem with my panels almost 5 years since they were installed

It's been about two years and my Ipsun Solar system continues to impress. My electrical bills have been dramatically reduced and that's after changing to an electrical water heater and installing and an EV charger. I couldn't be happier.

The process was very easy with Ipsun to secure my solar system. The sales rep was responsive as was the install team. They were fast with installation and good with getting me the desired forms for the credits. Overall, it was a good experience and one I’d recommend.

IPSun did a great job designing and installing my solar array and battery backup system. From beginning to end the process was pretty seamless. The installers were courteous and knowledgeable and answered all my questions throughout the installation process. If I could do it all over again, I would go with a larger battery system as you lose about 30% of the capacity for reserve per the warranty recommendations for Enphase. The ability to go off grid with the battery backup is amazing. Overall I'm very happy with the system and it has been great to see my electric bills at zero (except for the minimum connection charge for being on the grid).

Go with anyone but Ipsun, they strung me along for a year, than terminated contract over text. Ion solar installed start to finish 3 months, and cheaper then Ipsun quoted.

We have had a terrible experience getting our solar panels installed by Ipsun because of four issues with their work: 1) They overpromise and under deliver - we were originally given a quote for 20 panels, which was more panels than quotes we received from other companies. I’m not sure if they aren’t good at initial estimates or if they were intentionally generous to get us on the hook. Our final system was only 13 panels, which is smaller than any quotes we originally received. 2) They are extremely slow - I signed a contract with Ipsun 7 months ago, panels were put up more than 2 months ago and I still can’t turn my solar panels on. They blamed the city and power company for adding time into the process, but my neighbor chose a different solar company (after we signed with Ipsun!) and didn’t experience any of the same delays. My neighbor’s panels have been on for 5 months now and went up within 4 weeks of signing their contract. 3) Poor communication - It felt like pulling teeth to get people at Ipsun to respond to our emails and we regularly went 4-6 weeks without hearing from them. I had to ask multiple times that they keep both my husband and I copied on emails to us. Our project manager failed to let us know when things were happening, for instance he didn’t tell us he had submitted a Dig Safe request, so we were surprised to have someone on our property marking power lines one day. 4) Poor quality - On install day they called to tell us that our new roof (put on by the contractor they recommended!) had bigger vents than the original roof and we lost another panel. We had asked if they needed to do a second site survey after the new roof was put on and we were told no, which would have avoided the surprise with the vents. Then our system failed its inspection from the city because it wasn’t grounded properly. After supposedly passing the second inspection on the electric, they had some sort of permit issue and now we are waiting on a THIRD inspection. We chose Ipsun to install our solar panels because they had done my friend’s system a year earlier and he had been really happy with their work. My theory is that in the year between my friend’s install and ours that Ipsun grew too quickly and they have been unable to keep up with demand or that they have failed to either adequately train their new staff or failed to get their staff the resources they need to do their jobs effectively. Either way, I recommend going with a different solar installer until they figure themselves out.

I just wanted to leave a quick review and say that Ipsun has been great to work with. From the very beginning, they were communicative and walked me through every step. Although COVID made everything a bit slower and more difficult, I basically got to sit back and let them take care of everything, which they did. When the time came for the install, the team was very quick, professional, and did a clean job, which looks great. I would not hesitate to recommend Ipsun and I am looking forward to cranking out the kilowatts.

Ipsun did an excellent job guiding us through the process of our entire solar installation. They handled all design, permitting, installation, activation, and I'm sure countless other tasks with minimal hassle. I worked with Ipsun solar to install 2 solar arrays (8kw) and the system went active in September 2019 and tied to net metering my local electrical provider. My bills have been cut by 2/3 on average and had great contacts as things changed over the last year and half. Great folks to work with, quick to address issues.

My situation was unusual in that I wanted to replace an existing system while reusing some components. And then when the utility capped the size of my proposed system, I fought back by filing a complaint. This added more than a half a year to the project, but Ipsun stuck with me. I researched my situation enough that at times I had something to teach Ipsun. But they always listened, never talking down to me. And when it came time to install they delivered as promised, on time.

Above and beyond: this phrase could have been created with Ipsun in mind. Working through my solar installation felt as though a dear friend (or a bunch of them!) took me by the hand and led me gently through it. Each aspect was thoroughly described and explained. I felt confident making decisions with the depth of knowledge provided - never with the hint of superiority or exasperation that is so common. Everyone at Ipsun seems to be downright excited to teach the entire solar process. The speedy replies to emails were breathtaking. Every question I had along the way was patiently answered. When the power company balked at the number of panels to be installed, they quickly handled it, explaining the necessity for it (relatives moving in). They even started to help me find financing as part of their services (though I took care of that myself). Installation was quick(~2 days) and masterful. AND for the first time ever, I did not have to clean up after workers!!! I am so proud to have a spectacular solar array providing my power. I count myself lucky to have had this experience with Ipsun Solar.

Ipusun installed our solar panels quickly and without issue in Dec 2018. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that our panels produced no power, and I contacted Ipsun. Ipsun that evening troubleshot the issue as a failed interverter and ordered a new inverter. Delivery was scheduled for Wed., Jan 26, but Ipsun received it on Jan 24. Ipsun called to schedule installation on Jan 25, arrived on time, and quickly and without issue installed the new inverter. Ipsun's quick troubleshooting and repair is indicative of their stellar customer service.

Ipsun is highly recommended! They are very customer oriented. Everyone I worked with to make our solar installation happen — from the initial signing of the contract, drawing plans, site plan review, installation of the panels, follow up inspection, and final close out work — has been timely, kept me informed, and responsive to questions. A special thank you Humza, Andrew, Carl (and Installation Team), Abdul, Cindy, Joe, Herve, and the rest of the team. I was especially impressed with the care Carl took for his team members and their safety. Working in winter weather, through snow and sleet, is tricky and Carl’s first priority was to keep his team safe. A special thank you to Humza and Joe who patiently addressed many questions, as well as Herve who came to install a supplemental power conditioning piece of equipment to further reduce my power consumption, while reducing EMFs, and providing surge protection. If you are looking for a great solar company, Ipsun is recommended and you can stop your search. Once last piece of information in guiding your search for solar. Prior to going with Ipsun, I had another company (Vivint) provide an estimate of cost. My experience with Vivint was very negative. The representative could not answer some of the questions I asked and seemed evasive when I questioned some of the information (such as local tax rebates and incentives) he provided that I knew to be inaccurate. Additionally, once I indicated I was comparing companies and I was not going to sign the contract that day, the meeting with Vivint, turned sour (I was told that I was wasting his time). *I am so glad that Ipsun had a different approach (Very positive) and was the opposite of my experience with Vivint (Very negative).* Also, my neighbor used Vivint and had a negative experience with getting the system on-line - it took months of work to finally get it on-line after the installation of the solar panels. Beware of Vivint.

Ipsun Solar is a fantastic company to do business with! I could not be happier, from the initial meeting with Patrick, to the survey meeting with Humza and finally today's installation. Everyone was 100% professional, extremely cooperative and communicative! This is exactly how business should be done. The entire process took three months from the initial meeting until installation. The CEO even got involved to help move the permitting process along! The crew arrived this morning at the crack of dawn and completed the installation in a little over eight hours. Ipsun was even able to assist with very low cost financing which put us on the path to energy independence much quicker and cheaper than I ever anticipated. You can feel good about helping the planet and putting money back in your pocket. Most people think an install like this is too expensive. That couldn't be further from the truth. We are purchasing the system over time, making payments which are slightly less than our energy bill (not factoring in the inevitable increase in the cost of electricity). Thank you Ipsun Solar!!

I live in a townhouse which had not yet decided on HOA regulations for solar panels, Ipsun presented support technical data for all issues as well as design preliminary drawings considering shared roof concerns. Ipsun handled all my battery backup desires, helping me select exact circuits within my house for best coverage. A summer bill of $7.14 and only noticing a power outage because a light came on that wasn't is wonderful. I use the app to see how I'm doing every day. Ipsun calls with updates, I can't recommend a company more (and other companies have since wandered into our community which have created problems, there are differences). Ipsun did everything right for me and was recommended by Fairfax county.

I found Ipsun to be very responsive and not pushy at all, compared to other companies I contacted. They were so very helpful in helping me understand what I was getting, and the price was right, and the financing arrangement was top-notch too. I recommend them highly.

I contacted 3 suppliers of solar equipment: two in CA and one, Ipsun, in Northern VA. All were competitive for price for a 28 panel installation on my carport. I had built the carport myself and decided to do the solar installation also, since several local installers would not even consider a quote without knowing my last year's electric usage. I explained that it didn't matter, since I planned to buy an electric car (a Volt) and would be aiming for an all-electric house. I currently heat with a heat pump and oil furnace backup. Herve went to bat for me with Dominion, and got approval for my installation. After a year's usage, I'm planning to add more panels to my garage roof to be totally solar dependent.

We were paired with Ipsun via Solarize NOVA, and have been very happy with the results so far. A painless process, Ipsun handled all aspects of the installation, from design and permitting through to final county inspection of our panels, including coordinating with our power company to replace our power meter and receive permission to operate. Their team was always professional, openly communicative, and friendly. Installation was unobtrusive, and the team was respectful to ours and our neighbor's properties. We had a small issue with minor exterior siding damage during the installation that was immediately addressed, including an immediate call from the CEO within an hour of the issue being identified, to ensure the issue would be resolved to our satisfaction - which it was.

Ipsun was price competitive. More importantly the people were pleasant and professional. The engineering was great and they handled all the regulatory steps.

I was very pleased with the solid, professional job the Ipsun Power team did on my solar installation. From initial conversations, through the sale, scheduling, and installation, everyone I worked with was friendly, reasonable, and competent. I'm quite satisfied that I've got the solar system of my dreams, and I would encourage people looking to get solar to give these folks a call.

Ipsun is a great company to work with. They answered all of my questions and did a great job guiding me through the whole process. The install crew that came to my house was professional, courteous, and knew what they were doing. Ipsun also gives a personal website which includes all documents, pictures, schedule, receipts, etc in one place, which is very convenient. You get an app as well that tracks and trends how the panels are performing over time. After installation, they even applied for the county property tax credit without me even asking. I have no regrets with choosing Ipsun Power, and I recommend them to anyone looking to go solar!

The team provided us with the support and guidance we needed every step of the way. Unfortunately, our first inverter blew up. The owner himself took care of everything to get it replaced and came to inspect the final installation to ensure that the system was subsequently running properly.
