Justin Crain was awesome! It did not matter how many questions we asked, Justin answered them freely. What I mean about freely is that he didn't rush my husband & I or make us feel we were keeping him from his schedule. He was pleasant and very knowledgeable of the product. It was a pleasure for us to spend TWO hours learning and making up our mind on getting a Solar System.

Awesome Sales Representative!

Our representative was Justin Crain. He was very polite and courteous. He answered all the questions that we asked. When my husband and I asked him questions, Justin did not get nervous or feel we were making him stay later than he wanted to. He stayed two hours with us explaining and answering questions. We never felt rushed. He was nice and very professional but not stuffy.

6mon review of install + performance of residential system

Intermountain Wind and Solar (IWS) was one of several companies we contacted in 2017 to receive bids on an end of "grandfather period" net metering agreement we had submitted. We ended up hearing from 3 companies. The responses, in terms of thoroughness, accuracy, timeliness and general support were a real contrast in customer care. Despite the extraordinarily tight schedule that late Fall installations entailed, and especially efforts by Rocky Mountain Power to deny our request, IWS personnel went way, way above and beyond the call to assure that our system met deadlines, that the utility company ultimately accepted our net metering agreement, and that we had a system that was rapidly and cleanly installed. Further, they made extra efforts to help us earn the tax credits as well as special installation incentives (e.g., radiant barrier insulation). I am particularly impressed with the sales staff I worked with, and namely Casey Winger. He and his colleagues have been the most professional and helpful business relations I have experienced in a decade in Utah. Though a demanding customer, they more than met expectations, including rerouting conduit when it was not situated as I wanted along an interior wall. Since installation, the performance of our system has more than met our expectations and the predicted results. The SolarEdge system works perfectly with the mobile app, allowing easy, realtime system monitoring. Tax credits were professionally packaged, and our CPA easily integrated them in our filings, resulting in credits issued as promised. Now, 6mon after the installation, I continue to be pleased that we 'pulled the trigger' on this system, and want to do something rare for me--praise a contractor, and make a special effort to let others know upstanding IWS is. No BS, this was a very, very positive experience for our family. Kudos, IWS!

We purchased our solar system through Alta Sol. Because Alta Sol is still a newer company in a sea of giants, they contracted their installation jobs out to Intermountain Wind and Solar. We were 100% pleased with the job done by Intermountain. I wish I could remember their names, but it has been a few years now. Everything was done in a top notch manner and we couldn't be happier with our system. Well, I guess having more roof space with more solar would make us happier, but that just calls for a different house.

Solar Installation

We felt very comfortable with the whole purchase/installation process. Our questions were answered, and issues were resolved. The system has worked well, and I love being able to look at how our system is functioning on-line.

IWS installation and production

We had our system installed in December 2016 and wanted to wait until we had a year of production prior to writing a review. We had a ground array installed instead of a roof mount system (due to age of roof and not wanting to reroof at that time). The crew that came out to do the initial install (grunt work) was very professional and completed to job in minimal time. The crew that came out to do the rest of the install was also very professional and took the job seriously. from running the wires to the actual panel install all was done in complete harmony and wrapped up in the time that we were told it would. System works great and we only pay the monthly fees associated with grid tie-in. Production has been comparable with my Brother-in-Laws system (installed several years prior to ours). We couldn't be happier. I highly recommend IWS.

Great service

I compared with Vivint and Auric. Intermountain was cheaper and more professional. I got my solar 2 years ago. It works great and they come and check up on it if the monitors sense that something isn't working. Their product looks better than any other in the neighborhood. I am highly pleased with their work.

Installed 2 years ago

Professional estimator knew the details of the panels and inverters, including providing me with technical specifications so WE could choose which panels and inverter. This was not just a door-to-door salesman selling contracts for a third party installer. There was no pressure to sign a contract, and especially none to sign with a loan on the system - which is where many salespeople make their money. We wanted to pay cash, and they let us make that decision. we chose better grade panels, too, because their rate of guaranteed loss of power was significantly lower than less expensive panels. The system has worked as engineered. Our power bill is a steady $9 per month to be connected to the grid - except for a few days in January each year when it was cold and snow did not slide off the panels. The online monitoring of panel performance is nice, too.

Glad we chose Intermountain Wind and Solar

We had been thinking about solar power and had not moved ahead with it. Then a door to door salesman stopped by and got us thinking about solar again. I researched all the solar companies in our area and decided to go with Intermountain Wind and Solar. This was back when the tax benefits were good. The price per watt was better than others and I think maybe it does have to do with the volume of panels they buy. Anyway, the install was just as promised and everything is working well. We were advised to install just the right amount of panels so we were not over producing which is not a benefit to the homeowner (just Rocky Mountain Power). Our bill is usually $9 each month but sometimes more depending on weather and temperatures.

Fantastick company

They were to be only the installers of the system, but turned out I need more panels and went thru them as well. The entire process with them was easy. They always had the information and when things would occur. And they resolved issues that I had with the original sales company.

Fantastic Solar

Intermountain Solar is by far the best solar company there is out there. Customer care is wonderful and the follow up to make sure you are all up and running was great. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone, price, quality,install, and service was and is great.

Rooftop Solar

I have researched rooftop solar for about eight years and had four different companies give me bids. Intermountain Wind and Solar rose to the top for number of reasons--their track record, their salesman were helpful and attentive without being pushy, and their installations was fast and professional. I am waiting for the power company to change my meter and then we'll be making hay when the sunshines. I have been very happy with IW&S all the way through the process.

Home solar sales and installation

We are highly satisfied all the way through with sales, installation, and support. Cost was very competitive. It seems that start to finish time (first visit with sales rep to final installation) was long, and potential customers may want to stipulate some parameters here. Of course, we have no way to compare this item with competing vendors.

Great Experience

We went with Inter-mountain after researching other companies. I liked the customer service from the beginning to end. They were very communicative about the process and each step we were in. The installation of the panels was quick and professional. After installation they brought their drone in to take overhead pictures and then gave us a video to post on FB. Our electric bills are non-existent. I like the replacement policy if anything stops working they will replace the panel. They do not sub-contract their work. The whole project is covered if anything goes wrong. I get monthly updates of my production.

Incredible results! Way beyond expectations!

With only 14 panels on an east facing roof, charging an electric car, running a/c all summer, our electric utility bill, totals just $90/YEAR (includes Kool Keeper discount of $20 and mostly LED lights) That's right, $90/YEAR! How can YOU possibly justify NOT installing solar panels? PLEASE DO THIS! We all want clean air.

My original system and installation were stellar... but the system failed to produce the projected amount of power due to lower than rated output from the panels. Intermountain Wind and Solar sent someone to assess the problem and seek a solution. They decided that adding 4 more panels to the system would solve the production issue and have offered to correct the deficiency at their expense. That is great service in any business. After an investment of tens of thousands of dollars, it is such a relief to work with a good company that stands behind their work so my investment will be worthwhile. I would highly recommend this company to anyone seeking solar power.

Well pleased

I was very pleased when we installed the system with the advice and help, competitive price, installation process. I was more pleased when the inverter had problems about a year latter and Intermountain Wind and Solar was there within a day to fix it. Solar has been great for us and we have paid very little for electricity.
