Personally I was very pleased with IWS

Not knowing who to choose from was not easy. The final decision was made when they assured me the price was fare, the workmanship was of high quality, the they went overboard to make sure I was satisfied with the completed system. It works well and looks professional.

Awesome company

I was referred by a friend, the associate who assisted, Bryson Evans, was extremely professional. My system was installed in December 2015. I had to get the Utah Public Services Commission to get Rocky Mountain moving, contract was signed in October and RMP kept dragging their feet. IMWS helped push the install date. The install team arrive on the assigned date and time. They cleared the roof of snow and got to work. The electricians were amazing. My 30 panels and all components were installed by early afternoon. Bryson the sales associate came by to lend a hand, he got on the roof and pitched in. My system became operation in January, thanks RMP. The monitoring program is great we determined that a couple panels were not producing to specifications, IMWS speedy responded and replaced them. Could not be more pleased. Annual bill from RMP under $200.00, less than my summer monthly bill.

Fine except for one issue

They were the most professional when I got assessments, all those years ago.

Poor Service

I typically don't leave a review as I know how hard businesses have to work to meet customer's needs. However this is an exception. The initial install was great with no complaints, however now that I have had the system for a few years, as expected things begin wear or break down. I have two mircoinverters which no longer function. I have called the service department no less than 10 times with either no return call, or say they will check it out and assist in replacing the faulty parts. To no avail after 6 months. If you expect service to your system through the years don't use IWS. They are not organized to provide that service. Just hope that the delays will not impact the warranty I hope the parts are under.

Big mistake

This review is a long time in the making. I had my system installed in early December of 2018. My initial inspection for net metering hookup from NV energy was scheduled for mid to late January 2019. My system failed inspection because they did not install the disconnects in the proper place. So after waiting for NV energy again to come out mid to late February my system failed inspection again because they did not fix the issue correctly the first time. My system was finally approved after multiple failed inspections in mid to late March. For some odd reason I decided to refer a friend of mine to have his system installed. He has had multiple issues with intermountain wind and solar as well. I also haven't received my referral fee. His system has been working for four to five months now. And to top it all off after thinking that they were doing their job and monitoring my system I login to find out one of my panels hasn't been producing for over a month. Upon notifying them they said it must have slipped through the cracks. And then it took them a week and a half for somebody to come out to my house. So I'm down 1 panel still and regretting my decision to go with intermountain wind and solar. Maybe they're worth a hoot in Utah but in Las Vegas they seem to have big issues.

Great install!!!

Intermountain Wind and Solar did a great job on this install. From the pre planning process to install to follow up, all questions and expectations were exceeded! They are the best at what they do and have the experience to back it up

Great Service

We love IWS Great company to work with. They have the experience in the solar industry that we were looking for. Great service from the beginning to the end. They kept us informed through the whole process. We are happy we went with them.

Lousy service

Not Recommended! The installation and installers were great. They were on schedule and did clean installation. The office staff I would rate two star. We had to ask more than three or four times to correct the installation address and also email address. Still hasn't been correct on some of the paperwork. They said that they monitor output once system is running. The system was activated on Dec 26, 2018. On Jan 9 we noticed that there was no output since Jan 7. I called service 3 times since Jan 14 and have not gotten any action from Intermountain since then. They said that they will call to update me on status. I have not received any calls and/or email from the company to this day (Jan 29). Will not recommend!

Intermountain Wind & Solar is AWESOME!

We have had a solar system in the past but just for heating water. We have always wanted a photovoltaic system to create electricity for our home. So we looked into making it happen by checking into several companies that serviced our area. One day James came to our home to pitch his solar company Intermountain Wind and Solar. He was not pushy, knew his products, and did everything he could to answer any and all questions we had. After a lot of thought and more investigation we decided to go with this company. Wow what a great decision that was! The company did it all with a flair from start to finish. Everyone from the office was extremely helpful in all aspects of the installation. The installation crew came a half a day early to get started and by noon the next day they were finished. They installed 26 LG’s 315 W new module, LG NeON™ 2, which adopts Cello technology to enhance power output and reliability. It has double-sided structure which allows light that passes through the front of the panel to the rear of the module to be reabsorbed to generate a great amount of additional power. After having our installation done for 2 months everything we were told was right on including a bill from our electric company for $5.24 for being connected to the grid and we already have a surplus of energy credits to help us through the winter months. Everyone from one of the owners, office staff, salesman, down to the installers were excellent in their duties and extremely knowledgeable with the LG warranties including: 10 Years Warranty for Modules, and 25 Years Warranty for Power Output. What a great value for our money. Thank you so much Intermountain Wind and Solar for a job well done! We look forward to the future being self-sufficient in electric consumption, peace of mind, and a company and warranties to back up our purchase.

DYI - Best Resource

I have been doing my own PV install. I have purchased half my materials from these guys and the other half from the internet. In spite of this, these guys have provided help, directed me on my project and resolved issues. They have been upfront and helpful every step of the way.

Solar rating

We have had the best experience with Intermountain Wind and Solar. Marshall our salesman is fantastic, very professional and knowledgeable. The installers were amazing and very courteous, on time and not one spec of any material on the ground when they were done. They had a gentleman come and be here when the city did the inspection and we just got the net meter installed in 3 days after inspection. The whole process has been amazing We will recommend this company to everyone.

Loved our Sales Representative!

Justin Crain was awesome! It did not matter how many questions we asked, Justin answered them freely. What I mean about freely is that he didn't rush my husband & I or make us feel we were keeping him from his schedule. He was pleasant and very knowledgeable of the product. It was a pleasure for us to spend TWO hours learning and making up our mind on getting a Solar System.

Awesome Sales Representative!

Our representative was Justin Crain. He was very polite and courteous. He answered all the questions that we asked. When my husband and I asked him questions, Justin did not get nervous or feel we were making him stay later than he wanted to. He stayed two hours with us explaining and answering questions. We never felt rushed. He was nice and very professional but not stuffy.

6mon review of install + performance of residential system

Intermountain Wind and Solar (IWS) was one of several companies we contacted in 2017 to receive bids on an end of "grandfather period" net metering agreement we had submitted. We ended up hearing from 3 companies. The responses, in terms of thoroughness, accuracy, timeliness and general support were a real contrast in customer care. Despite the extraordinarily tight schedule that late Fall installations entailed, and especially efforts by Rocky Mountain Power to deny our request, IWS personnel went way, way above and beyond the call to assure that our system met deadlines, that the utility company ultimately accepted our net metering agreement, and that we had a system that was rapidly and cleanly installed. Further, they made extra efforts to help us earn the tax credits as well as special installation incentives (e.g., radiant barrier insulation). I am particularly impressed with the sales staff I worked with, and namely Casey Winger. He and his colleagues have been the most professional and helpful business relations I have experienced in a decade in Utah. Though a demanding customer, they more than met expectations, including rerouting conduit when it was not situated as I wanted along an interior wall. Since installation, the performance of our system has more than met our expectations and the predicted results. The SolarEdge system works perfectly with the mobile app, allowing easy, realtime system monitoring. Tax credits were professionally packaged, and our CPA easily integrated them in our filings, resulting in credits issued as promised. Now, 6mon after the installation, I continue to be pleased that we 'pulled the trigger' on this system, and want to do something rare for me--praise a contractor, and make a special effort to let others know upstanding IWS is. No BS, this was a very, very positive experience for our family. Kudos, IWS!

Satisfied Customers

We purchased our solar system through Alta Sol. Because Alta Sol is still a newer company in a sea of giants, they contracted their installation jobs out to Intermountain Wind and Solar. We were 100% pleased with the job done by Intermountain. I wish I could remember their names, but it has been a few years now. Everything was done in a top notch manner and we couldn't be happier with our system. Well, I guess having more roof space with more solar would make us happier, but that just calls for a different house.

Solar Installation

We felt very comfortable with the whole purchase/installation process. Our questions were answered, and issues were resolved. The system has worked well, and I love being able to look at how our system is functioning on-line.

IWS installation and production

We had our system installed in December 2016 and wanted to wait until we had a year of production prior to writing a review. We had a ground array installed instead of a roof mount system (due to age of roof and not wanting to reroof at that time). The crew that came out to do the initial install (grunt work) was very professional and completed to job in minimal time. The crew that came out to do the rest of the install was also very professional and took the job seriously. from running the wires to the actual panel install all was done in complete harmony and wrapped up in the time that we were told it would. System works great and we only pay the monthly fees associated with grid tie-in. Production has been comparable with my Brother-in-Laws system (installed several years prior to ours). We couldn't be happier. I highly recommend IWS.

Great service

I compared with Vivint and Auric. Intermountain was cheaper and more professional. I got my solar 2 years ago. It works great and they come and check up on it if the monitors sense that something isn't working. Their product looks better than any other in the neighborhood. I am highly pleased with their work.

This company did a great job. Always on time. Very knowledgeable. Experienced, quality work, and materials. On top of the process the whole way. I would highly recommend Intermountain Wind and Solar.

Installed 2 years ago

Professional estimator knew the details of the panels and inverters, including providing me with technical specifications so WE could choose which panels and inverter. This was not just a door-to-door salesman selling contracts for a third party installer. There was no pressure to sign a contract, and especially none to sign with a loan on the system - which is where many salespeople make their money. We wanted to pay cash, and they let us make that decision. we chose better grade panels, too, because their rate of guaranteed loss of power was significantly lower than less expensive panels. The system has worked as engineered. Our power bill is a steady $9 per month to be connected to the grid - except for a few days in January each year when it was cold and snow did not slide off the panels. The online monitoring of panel performance is nice, too.

Great customer service

IWS was fantastic throughout both phases of my project. They even helped me fix some stuff that I tried to DIY. Fantastic solar partner
