The company is good; the county I live in is hard to work with.

1. Sales process was awesome. I asked a million questions and I got accurate answers promptly. 2. Advice was given when asked for and I found their advice to be sound. 3. Job started on time. Most delays were caused by Hernando County, but follow-up was somewhat slow. 4. Price seems good for the size and location of the system installed. 5. Panels work great, but one of the inverters did not work properly. It was replaced. 6. Installation was mostly neat and secure. 7. EVERYONE I spoke with was professional, polite and knowledgeable. 8. System was installed in November, 2017, but there was little-to-no follow-up to see if the system was working properly. Partly my fault because I did not know what to expect. In November, 2018, the system was corrected and seems to be working okay. I was reimbursed for the first year's payments, one power bill, and was provided with an additional power circuit (awesome!) for my trouble. The company has made a strong effort now to make me happy.

I purchased solar through Goldin and the Solar United Neighbors of Florida co-op. The co-op did all the leg work of finding a qualified installer and negotiating the prices. However, I had a great experience with Goldin, as they helped me to choose the right equipment and appropriate system size for my needs. They kept me up-to-date throughout the installation, and sent someone out to help me when I had issues with understanding how to use the app.

I use them to build a 37 panel system on my house everyone that I interact with in the company was extremely Pleasant professional they made the entire process easy and seamless I would highly recommend them if you're thinking about getting solar panels.

Goldin Solar was very helpful to get solar into my house!! They did have some difficulty setting up the hardware and software for usage monitor addition that I ordered...but they stuck to it out and got it all installed!!

good people, good prices, lackluster service after installation

The salesman was excellent. Very attentive and accommodating. Answered all my questions and got me started with exactly what I wanted and needed. The planning took far too long to design and get engineering plans. When they were ready everything was correct. The installation was hit and miss. The solar panels were installed perfectly. The wrong inverter was initially installed and I had to inform the electrician it wasn't correct (he apparently didn't review the plans). This caused issues with SolarEdge. Post install, it's been 2 months and unfortunately I still don't have the monitoring issues resolved to my satisfaction.

Great service, great price, highly recommended

This isn't one of your run of the mill solar companies that goes door to door trying to sucker people into buying a system based on uneducated estimates. Instead they provide real data and accurate estimates based on your energy usage and real calculations of expected solar production. As an engineer I have to see the data and check the math and this was the first company that could show their work. I have had long conversations with other people who have installed PV this year and I know that I got the best price per kw, and had the least problems with Goldin Solar handling everything. Initially there was a problem with a defective inverter but it was handled in a timely matter. The only other issue was waiting 3 weeks for the power company to come out to change the meter. I can't fault Goldin Solar for that as their paperwork was submitted early and they kept checking up to see what was taking so long. Additionally there were no hidden costs. I paid exactly the initial estimate amount. Finally the system is outputting the expected amount of power for this time of year.

Excellent Job

The owner and his assistant were very responsive/professional. The technicians were helpful and knowledgeable. The panels have reduced my electric bill by more than %50. Very happy that I did it. It did take a while to get started, but after that everything went seamlessly.

Use Local Solar Companies

I believe that every review should cover the good and bad aspects of a project. Because when I decide to do business with a company, other reviews help me form an opinion. Goldin Solar wasn’t our first solar company we looked at. The whole reason why we wanted solar was to have a way to power the house during a hurricane when FPL power was down. The first company we looked at didn’t fit this requirement. Our neighbor told us about Goldin and that they offered a solution with a battery backup. We contacted Goldin and they sent out a salesman to discuss our options. They worked with us to get financing though the Florida Pace Program. Madelin, my project manager was amazing. She worked with my schedule to get the solar installed and she walked me thru the process and answered all my questions. Aldo, my installation manager made sure I was happy with installation, and made sure that the system was operational. I am sure there are several people behind the scenes that deserve my thanks as well, from the engineers, installers and electricians. There were a few things that didn’t go as expected or discussed, however after talking to Goldin about these issues, I feel Goldin has addressed each of my concerns appropriately. There are a lot of companies that are pushing solar these days. Most of these companies are from California, it’s nice to work with a local company. It helps our economy, and I find that local companies are more responsive. I feel that Goldin is a solid company that would work hard to make sure you get the product and service you need. I wanted to add this one bit of information, on my first day of power generation the monitoring tool said I remove enough CO2 that it was an equivalent of planting two trees. That’s an awesome feeling to know you’re helping the environment.

Solid company

While communication may have been just a bit better, installation and service people and their work were excellent, and ultimately the office representatives were professional and clear and effective. We are satisfied with the product that was installed.

Great experience start to finish - they know solar.

I worked with Karl Markeset at Goldin Solar who did an amazing job of explaining how it all works and planning out a system that met the needs for my home in Miami Shores. The installation process was smooth and they explained what was happening every step of the way. We ended up with a 33 panel 9.9 kW DC system - you can monitor how it's performing via a web portal so you always know how it's performing. Great company to work with!

Worry-free Solar

The folks at Goldin Solar made the process of installing my solar system 100% worry-free. From clear and concise answers when I walked into their showroom, to excellent project management over the course of the project ... I'm very happy I chose them over the competitors.

New installation

We started this process back in September 2017, searching for the right company and project for our house. We obtained 5 different proposals. We selected Goldin Solar because the answered all my questions in a timely manner. Emails, phone calls and texting. We also went with Goldin Solar because they are a local company that understand our needs in Central Florida. The process is somewhat long due to the complexity of the project. Not everything is under their control specially when you depend on the approval of the HOA, the county approval of the project, then installation, the final inspection and the change of the meter by the utility company. But after all that, our system is up and running. So far it seems that we are producind enough solar energy to upset our use from the grid. Still waiting for the first bill after the installation of the new meter. We will see very soon

Great Service

The Staff at Golding Solar are friendly, knowledgeable and were very helpful through the entire process. Any questions were quickly answered and any concerns were quickly address. I would recommend Goldin Solar to anyone as one of the best Solar Companies out there.

Great tech team, did take longer than expected

From the start, Goldin was always the best as far as breaking down the tech side of things and showing me side by side comparisons of different panels and even other companies claims. I chose them out of MANY for that reason. Plus very low cost compared to others. I have to rate 4 star though due to the amount of time it took to finally get online. I believe the process started in Oct or Nov and we weren't online until end of Feb, March. According to the team, there were a few issues they were having with installers, supply, etc that took longer than expected. Jim had been updating me throughout the process and was very apologetic with everything happening. It has now been one month with the system online and we have actually over produced! It is running better than expected and over produced by about two days worth of power that will be used as a future credit. Overall I'm happy, just wish it didn't take so long (not that it was a rush, but still).

Easy sales process, downhill from there

The sales process was easy-the salesman was knowledgeable and brought up several things that we had not discussed with any of the other companies that we had contacted. Once the contracts were signed, though, the word ‘horrid’ does not do the process justice-we were handed off to a 'concierge' to facilitate the installation. From that point on it was appointments that were made with us where we had to have someone home that were missed with no notice, calling and saying they needed someone at the house now when we had been told there was no need for anyone to be home, delays (weeks) with no update, miscommunications, and blatantly incorrect information. We reached out to the owner to discuss the multiple instances where there were issues but did not receive a response, other than a cursory acknowledgement that he had received our email and offered further follow-up, until after this review was posted-to their credit they did contact me by phone and we spent 30 minutes reviewing all the issues, but in the end nothing changed our experience. Thanks to monthly ‘facility fees’ that our electric provider levies on us (that we were assured wouldn’t be charged after we began to produce power), monetarily the system is a wash-I’m saving no money as the monthly fees from our energy co-op, increased homeowners insurance, plus the cost of the system are just as much if not more (winter months) than my highest bills were during the summer months. I may not regret going solar in the long run, but I certainly regret our choice of providers with their false promises of ‘five-star service’ and a ‘Project Road Map’ that was nothing like the actual process.

Love my solar!

Justin was great to work with. He came to our home, and showed us what an installation could look like for us. I live in a townhome, and we were the first to put solar on our home. So it was important to me that the installation would be done right. It looks great, and Goldin's installation team was very flexible about when I wanted the conduit run, so that it would limit what could be see on the outside of our building. Finally, Melissa was very attentive to all my questions, and did a great job facilitating with permitting and our power company.

Great product, good experience.

Overall, I am very happy with Goldin Solar. I would use them again. The built a good system and were always respectful of our home and privacy. Brice was the lead during construction, and he rocked. Great guy. Andrew sold me the product early on. He was new to the business, but super nice and found out any info he couldn't answer immediately. My only complaint was communication. It seemed there wasn't a good connection from Andrew to Brice to the home office. Brice had no idea who Andrew was when he showed up. It just didn't seem like the whole team talked to each other about our job to be sure we were all on the same page the entire time. It all worked out in the end. They slightly damaged my sprinkler system and gutters and reimbursed me for repairing both. Thank you Goldin Solar. I am now getting 70-80% of my power covered by mother nature. :-)

Super Responsive Solar Provider

Goldin Solar gave me a tremendous value, did a professional installation, and was extremely responsive to questions I had. They kept me informed through the process and worked well with Tampa Electric and the City of Tampa to get through required installation inspections and milestones. Couldn't ask for a better group of people with a finer product than Goldin Solar.

The installation crew did a good job. The installation was quick and properly built. Passed inspection with no problems. The best part is my loan payment is less than my average electric bill day 1.

Love of my System, and making my own Electricity!

I started paying attention to my electricity bill because my home is serviced by the city of Vero Beach Electric company, and my neighbors a few streets away, are serviced by FP&L and pay a lot less than I do for electricity; there was an intense debate in the local paper discussing a possible sale of the utility to FP&L which could lower rates, but nothing seemed certain, and years away at the soonest, if at all. I was frustrated that I had to pay more for electricity, because of where I lived, and it seemed like there wasn't anything I could do about it. Fortunately, in my search, I learned that I could produce my own electricity with a Solar Power system! I reached out to a few area companies to get a quote, and after comparing 3 quotes, I choose Goldin Solar because their quotation process was far more specific than the other companies. They asked to see 12 months worth of bills, while the other companies just asked to see my last bill. One of their competitors proposed selling me less panels, and a new pool pump, saying that the new pump would reduce my bill by over 20%. Goldin Solar installed an energy sensor that measured the amount of electricity used by my pump and other devices in my home, and showed me that my pool pump only used about 5% of my total electricity, and even if the new pump used no electricity at all, that it couldn't reduce my bill by the 20% proposed; they had my business because they didn't exaggerate. Once I signed on, they came by the house to get my roof measured within a few days. It did take over a month for them to get a permit, but as soon as they had it they were out to the house within a week, and had the system installed a few days later! The install team was courteous and hard working, and did a great job of showing me how the system worked. On the last day of the installation, they set up an app on my phone so that I could see each and every panel. I'm pleased to say that after almost a year, the system is doing exactly what they said it would, and I am quietly producing my own electricity, and hope to continue to do so for many more to come!

Simply the best

Goldin Solar has been one of the best businesses I have worked with in South Florida. Daren the owner is very knowledgeable and to be able to work with someone that knows how to treat customers in South Florida is bonus. The solar system he and his team installed went in with minimal hassle from the HOA (his team provided everything they needed to approve) The permits were pulled and the inspection went well. I am generating my own power :) ......I will definitely have them do more for me In the near future.....seeing a $9 FPL bill is special.
