Leaking panel mounts wrecked my roof. $22,000 in damage. They refuse to pay.

Goldin Solar installed solar on my Central Florida home. Their panel mounts leaked. Water got into the roof and destroyed a substantial amount of wood. The repair estimate is $22,000. They are refusing to pay for the damage their mounts caused. This is not my opinion of where the water came from. A certified, independent roofer and a separate solar company both inspected the leak. Both concluded the leak was caused by the way Goldin Solar installed the mounts. I have photos of the leaking mounts and of the wood damage. A solar company that drills through your roof owns those penetrations. Goldin Solar publicly advertises a long workmanship and roof-penetration warranty. Two outside professionals say their installation caused the leak. When the $22,000 bill showed up, they still refused to pay. I am out $22,000 in roof and wood repairs because of their installation, and they have declined to cover it. Do not hire them if you care about your roof. Get every warranty promise in writing, and assume you will be fighting them if a mount leaks. AVOID GOLDIN SOLAR.....There a multiple other solar companies out there that are still trustworthy, responsive and stand behind their work.

Terrible company - stay away!!

After the initial sales process things went downhill really fast. Once they lock you into the contract they lose complete interest in the project. The entire team is non-responsive and everything takes ridiculously long. From contract signing to getting the system fully operational took well over a year. They claim that is normal, but everybody I ever talked to had their system installed in about half that time. The only thing they are good at is covering up for each other and coming up with excuses. A year after completion one of our panels broke. In the contract they claim to have a highly responsive service department and fast turnaround times on warranty claims, but that is a total lie. They are again completely non-responsive. A month after starting the warranty claim we are still nowhere. Given how dishonest this company is, likely all or most of the positive reviews are fake and made up by the company itself in the time they spend not responding to their customers. All the negative reviews echo my experience and it is highly unlikely that they randomly choose to provide excellent service to some and dismal service to others with no middle ground. Do yourself a favor and do not use this company.

This has to be one of the worst service companies I’ve ever dealt with. Goldin Solar was lightning-fast when it came to taking my $60,000 payment, but everything after that was a complete disaster. What was supposed to be a smooth installation turned into a two-year ordeal, full of delays, excuses, and constant changes to the timeline. To make things worse, halfway through the process they increased the total cost, blaming it on rising material prices. After finally finishing the installation, the system worked for just six months before breaking down ,and that’s when the real frustration began. Their customer support is beyond unacceptable. Instead of taking responsibility, they point fingers and blame everyone else — manufacturers, subcontractors, even “system errors.” It’s been over two months since I opened a support ticket, and my system is still not producing any power. Communication is minimal, and progress is nonexistent. If you’re considering solar, do yourself a favor and look anywhere else. Goldin Solar has shown a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and reliability. I regret ever choosing them and would never recommend this company to anyone.

BEWARE - NON-RESPONSIVE

They "seemed" great at first, but ifear they were wolves in sheeps clothing. They were very responsive... at first !! Now we are still getting high electric bills, we're told not all the panels are working. Now they no longer will respond to us, answer or emails, messages or phone calls. Last time I was ablevto speak with someone (quite a shock) we spoke to "Micheal". He said he had to look into things be t PROMISED he would call back no later than the end of next day. I said that would be great. Well that was over a week ago. No word from anyone in any form. Not sure what our next step is but my husband is talking about getting an attorney.

Goldin came very short from expectations

I originally ordered panels in mid 2021 with installation expected by end of year 2021. After I signed the agreement communication suffered significantly. I constantly requested updates and information that I was not provided with. They would respond only when they wanted and only provide short responses and little to no information from what was requested. On top of the delays, after I signed and was offered an offset of over 95% with the approved panels, engineering came back to reduce the amount of panels, I still disagree with their assessment, asked to speak to engineering and was denied that opportunity. My installation was then delayed until 2022, and it wasn't until May 2022 when they finally completed pre work and permits. Even after they scheduled installation, only to realize they didn't even have the panels they knew they would need for my project; again delayed. During installation. Techs were friendly. Unfortunately they made unnecessary holes and other damages that they failed to properly repair even after multiple requests. Right now there's a current roof water leak causing interior damages that I've reported and hasn't been addressed at all; panels are still pending. Techs also left very dirty working areas, including trash and cigarette butts all around my property exterior; my wife and I had to pick up multiple times after them. Unfortunate, the entire experience has been very rocky, and although they say to be trying, their actions speak much louder than their short and sporadic words. as of today 6/2/2022 we're still waiting on interior wall damage repairs, interior water leak repairs, rook leak repairs, and even final panel installation. All of these were supposed to continue as of 6/1/2022 and have been no call no show twice now, with no response from anyone on the matter.

Poor Customer Service

Installation was ok. After installation, they forget about their customers. I have been asking for a review of my account for months because my bills are not as low as expected. I should have plenty of credits built up to use in the hotter months, but I have none. All I am asking is for someone to review my account. The project coordinator has stopped communicating with me and the main office has not returned my calls or emails either. The installation comes with a warranty to fix problems. I am worried that if I do have a serious problem, they will not be responsive. Let's hope that day never comes. In the meantime, I paid a ton of capital for the installation and not getting the return on investment they suggested I would get. I do not recommend this company, purely for lack of customer support after the installation.

Disabled vet scammed out of 45k

I was sold a $45,500 system that would replace my electric bill with a solar bill. A year later last month bill was 220 dollars and now I have a solar bill as well. The company has made excuses and denied to correct the problem. Now this disabled vet must pay two bills. A power bill and a solar bill. Don�t de a fool like me and trust them. Try a different company
