System Failure

I bought a 9.8 kW system from Freedom Forever. It was installed in November 2021. Come August 2022 the system quits generating. No production. I have called and been told that a new inverter has been ordered and to expect a 30 day delivery. I put in a trouble ticket and it says it has been resolved. I haven't seen or heard from anyone. I have sent emails, but nothing returned as of yet. I know they will reply to this saying, "We can't find you in our system." I bet the state attorney general will make them find me.

Promises made but NOT kept.

Our Freedom Forever Solar system was installed quickly with no problems. The first month the system produced a good about of energy and we were happy. During the second month the system started losing energy production. We were told our system was constantly monitored so we didn't worry much about it. We thought perhaps weather was the problem. Then the 3rd month the inverter stopped working and the system stopped producing any energy - in the middle of summer in Arizona when we use our air conditioning the most. We contacted Solar Edge who makes the inverter and were told not to expect a new inverter for at least 30 days due to shipping. We also contacted Freedom Forever and were told nothing could be done until the new inverter was installed. It's been over 30 days in the heat of Arizona summer - nothing. I contacted Solar Edge and Freedom Forever, again with NO response from either company. We paid cash for our system - $30,000, and only produced solar energy for 2 months! Now they refuse to contact us or give us any information on what they are doing to fix the inverter. We are very disappointed with Freedom Forever and would suggest people who want solar on their homes find a more dependable and reputable company. We brought our concerns up to the sales rep before the solar was installed and he assured us Freedom Forever was a good company and we would not experience these problems. Apparently his company let him down and have made him appear to be a liar.

Outstanding customer service after the sale

I had Freedom Forever install 30 solar panels on the roof of my Mesa, AZ house in August, 2021. The panels were placed in five different racks, and four of the racks have worked flawlessly from day one. However, one rack had problems with panels working loose in the wind. I live on top of a mountain, and it's definitely windier here than in the houses at a lower altitude. I called the Freedom Forever people to come examine the loose panels on three separate occasions during the past year, and every time they came to the house promptly, tightened things, and replaced any panels that had been damaged by coming loose in the wind. All of this was done at no charge to me. On the last visit, we decided to change the angle of inclination of the panels on the troublesome rack to reduce wind loading. This seems to have solved the problem, and everything is working well. I am really impressed with the excellent follow-up I received from Freedom Forever. In fact, I am thinking of adding another eight or ten panels to the array now on my roof, and if I decide to do that, I will definitely be calling Freedom Forever to do that installation.

Very professional

I reviewed these comments pretty thoroughly and I decided to move forward anyways. They are a very large company taking on 10s of thousands of clients so the amount of bad reviews is less than 1% Second their pricing is very reasonable with decent equipment. Next I'd say a lot of it comes down to your individual rep. Mine was awesome very straight forward! I would recommend them to my family and friends!

No Custormer Service or followup

Had Solar panels on a tile roof installed 8 weeks ago by Freedom Forever. As will happen in construction they broke a bunch of tiles. Took a month for them to come back and in that time they did not cover any of the voids with any protection, plastic sheeting or anything. Came back unprepared and were not able to complete the repairs again. Again left the job without protection over the voids. 8 weeks later we still have missing ridge caps without any protection and can not get a call back or anything. Nice people at their customer service phone line. They will say anything when speaking with you and then no call backs no follow up, nothing. We will probably have to go legal and get the repairs done by others. Can only imagine if I have a warrenty issue. Stay away from this company.

Solar system out 4 weeks with no help

I've had my system one year and the inverter goes bad..so they say. My system is supposed to have a monitoring system but the monitoring system never indicated my system was having a problem. If I wasn't checking the app to know it wasn't working no one would have known. I've been calling for over 4 weeks trying to get this fixed. After the 2nd call I've been asking for a manager but one is never available. I've been asking for the form to compensation at the one year mark and two different people have said they would send it, I've still not received it. On the 3rd call the person that took my call said my ticket has been closed because it was fixed. I insisted my system is not producing. Was put on hold and then she came back and said my inverters is bad and one has been ordered. One week later, still no inverter, and this time they tried to check with someone in the warehouse but couldn't get ahold of anyone. At that point I was told they would call me back. They still have called me back 4 days later. If my electric was out the electric company would be out within a day but not these folks. At this point I'm not sure if anything they have told me is true. So now I'm going to have to pay for the solar system and electric. This company has a major communication issue. I've tried getting help with my sales person but he never gets back to me either. I had major communication issues during the installation phase as well. Freedom Forever solar panels

We bought the solar panels in 9/02/2021 and they installed them in March and the system died in May. I was not informed until June and a $174.00 electric bill later. I called the people I purchased it from and they gave the phone number for Freedom Forever and when I called them they said that the defective part was not in stock. It is now July and I have heard nothing from them. I am still paying Sunrun $160 a month for dead panels plus my electric bill. Good sales pitch but lousy service after the fact.

No support

Buyer beware! Here in Grand Prairie Texas no support after they get your money. It took 3 weeks and counting to get on a list to get called to schedule a service call. When you call you get a person working remotely to tell you no manager or service tech will talk to ya. They hide behind this.

Take the money and not finish the Project

We signed on with Freedom Forever in November of 2021 with the sales person Adam Larson who said we could be completed with our project by February. In April they finally came and set the 28 solar panels on the roof and left.. I was told the next step was a new 225 electrical panel. In March PG&E showed up to shut off the power but no one from Freedom Forever was here to work and PG&E left. After several calls they came in May to install the new electrical panel, PG&E and City of San Jose also came. City of San Jose inspector said Freedom Forever had the wrong permits, PG&E could not shut power off as the feeders to the electrical panel could not support the 225 amp panel and the left. Now one would think that the person that came out in November from Freedom Forever would have checked to see if the new electrical panel would fit the existing service from PG&E. Then someone from Freedom Forever forged our name for full payment from Mosaic Bank that the project was completed. Mosaic Bank paid Freedom Forever $37,000 dollars and we are stuck making payments on a project that has not been completed and abandoned by Freedom Forever. When I asked Mosaic Bank how they could pay Freedom Forever in full without asking us they said nothing and if we stop making payments we would be turned over to collection. We have repeatedly asked Freedom Forever Solar for hard copies of our contracts. These requests continue to be ignored, just as our numerous phone calls for completion are ignored...no one will answer our questions. Now all I want is for Freedom Forever to either remove the solar panels from the roof or complete the project. I am also lodging a complaint to the contractors board against Freedom Forever for their performance in this installation.

I worked for them

This company is highly unprofessional they don’t return emails their Training is unclear and highly complicated for no reason they do not treat their reps well at and while working for them I heard some pretty disgusting things that they’re Dealer reps were willing to do just to make a buck over all horrible company. I see such a beautiful opportunity in solar but Freedom Forever doesn’t care to take full advantage of the opportunity to help free people from their electricity bill restraints. So if anyone knows of a good companies actually doing this right I would love to work with them.

Freedom Forever is Awesome

I've had a great experience with Freedom Forever, their installation was quick and and the crew was awesome. Shopped around quite a bit before pulling the trigger on solar and their cost was by far the best. I highly recommend!

Liked it so much I got it twice

I signed up my home in San Diego for a 9kwp Tesla system with Tesla power wall and was thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and scale of the company they’re freaking huge. It gives me piece of mind such a large seemingly successful company is guaranteeing my solar for the next 25 years! Definitely recommend, I got the smart grid promotion for free on top of the solar. My bills were $500-$800 in the summer and now Sdge owes me money. Huge win

Excellent service

They have just installed our panels and they did an amazing job. They are efficient and polite workers. Every thing was done professionally and fairly quickly. Would highly recommend this company.

Oversold and under delivered

The salesman Craig Burell is pretty slick. I know nothing about Solar I sought out a company and they seemed to be very responsive and quick with the quotes. I was sold 91 panels that produce about 27kilowats. I guess that is quite a bit. I did ask to oversize it as I planned on bringing my bitcoin mining rigs to the house. Those things use up a ton of energy. I remember my conversation with Craig letting him know my objectives. So he sold me a boat load of panels, however did not sell me anything to store the power for use at night. So now my solar payment is as much as my Electric bill and I still have a high bill and sending a bunch of power to the Grid because I never brought the mining rigs home. So I called Craig told him of my frustration and that I thought he over sold me and with the cost of what I paid over 100k I should have gotten something to store the power for use of my stored energy at night. He said he agreed and would get back to me. Weeks turned to months then a year and still no Craig. So I call his mobile he never answered, So I call the company. Only to find out Craig is no longer there? I found that a bit strange as his name is all over their web page. So they send out some young guy who knows nothing about solar but would be happy to give me a bid on some Tesla Solar Batteries to store my power. But... the catch was I had to buy more panels. "Company Policy he stated" So I asked him to talk to the boss and let them know what happened and see if they would make an exception. He called me back and said no exceptions. So I finally got in touch with a great guy named Mark from Sun Valley Solar. He talked to me on the phone for about an hour and let me know what I could do to save money and not send so much power back to the grid. I then started to realize some savings. So I called on Mark and they pointed out some flaws in the installation so I could get them fixed. So I called in a support ticket yesterday and someone was suppose to call me right back? I am still waiting for a call. The guys at Freedom Forever also told me that I had to stick with them as it would void the warranty if I went with anyone else. So far I am not impressed that they would handle warranty issues any different then they do a service order. Needless to say I got a solution from Sun Valley Solar and am very happy with their service. It is great to know that there are people out there that still know how to take care of customers. I would stay far away from Freedom Forever as they are shysters' and con men in my opinion and take advantage of people. Therefore I am giving them 1star if I could give a negative star I would. Like I stated Stay far away from these people at Freedom Forever and seek someone who does not mind spending time with you knowing that they were not going to be able to sell me any thing "due to warranty issues" I don't care at this point and believe that if I have any problems with my Solar that Sun Valley will step up and get the job done right the first time.

Still dealing with this nightmare!!

Worst experience ever! This company was paid out by Mosaic which is still on my credit and is still charging me each month, have called freedom forever since November of 2021 and they now say I have no contract with them and never have, but yet I’m financing, what exactly!! This company brings nothing but headaches and is a nightmare!

I wish I had never answered the door to them

The Freedom Forever sales rep lied to our faces when we asked him directly about monthly fees. He said that there would be none as long as our panels were producing enough energy to cover our needs. Not true - there’s a not insubstantial fixed monthly fee for the use of the equipment. We asked several times about this and we’re assured over and over that there would be no hidden fees or monthly costs - absolute lies. Then, when we had problems after the panels were installed (3 weeks with no heat in February), Freedom Forever refused to help and said we had to deal with SunRun, who said it was our problem not theirs. The rep also said that maintenance and cleaning the panels is part of the service provided. Another lie. I’m not sure anything he said to us was true. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, anywhere else, than Freedom Forever or SunRun.

Horrible

2019 - 8 months installation - broken roof tiles everywhere - trash left on my roof; leak after leak and then advised me that the entire 4000 sq dr roof needs to be replaced after it was inspected and approved. Fast forward two years later - the system dies in December 2021 and it’s still down in April 2022. Countless calls - two scheduled appointments - two no shows by their service technicians. Ilegal sales tactics

If I have the opportunity, I walk away from the solar panels, Do not sign a contract without knowing the product you are buying, most of the time they are not convenient for you, but they will sale it just to have your business, we started the process in July and complete it 6 months after. Paying the loan installments before the panel started working, besides that you never know how actually the panels cost because they never let you know. The sales representative lied to us to get the business and after that disappeared, and we were forced to continue with the contract. If they offer you something get that in writing do not not believe anything you are told verbally because they do not respond. They just care about their profit never about you.

Great Solar Installer

They are newer in California. Sales are experienced and patience, not pushy Looked at different proposals. Getting a FREE Net Zero Home Security system $2800 and cash rebate $1,000, on top of 26% tax refunds Great Deal !!!!

WARNING DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! find anyone else! I have been fighting with them since December of 2019. The reps lie, dont trust anything they say. They word it so you assume the warranty is good. It is NOT! Sent to me today by their escalations specialist at 1:06Pm and it sums everything up perfectly! Article 6- No savings guarantee 6.1 No savings guarantee. freedom forever has not guaranteed, promised or otherwise represented any reduction in electricity costs in relation to the system that will be installed on the property, and further provides no warranty or guaranty with respect to any cost savings from use of the system. My story started like many others, the reps dont work for them they are contracted so hold no liability. Then when you lodge a complaint, they tell you that you have to wait 1 year to see true production. Turns out this is so you lose the ability to have any recourse. I just want it removed from my home and cancel the contract- they of course will not do that. I am now paying $169 a month roughly in electric and another $100 plus a month for the solar that does nothing. You do not save "tokens" from the daytime and it is sent back to the electric company. Most days, my solar is not even running correctly to use for daytime use. When the power goes out from the electric company so does my home. Solar does not keep it running! Please be careful with them. If you choose to do like me and ignore the complaints on yelp or any other source, atleast have a lawyer look over the contract. You will get screwed with this company!

Great company to work with

I started looking into a solar program back on Nov 2021, I came across Freedom Forever from the web which lead me to there sales person Steve Casey. He gave me his quotes and told me no one in the industry will beat Freedom Forever's pricing. He encouraged me to get other quotes which I did ( 4 other's) and they could not match what was offered through Freedom Forever. Once I signed on later that Month, they have met all what they said they would do at this point. From the site survey team, to the install of the Vivint home security system, working with the design team and inter connections team Romeo, all have been a great help. When ever I call into Freedom Forever Concierge line they are always prompt and a pleasure to talk to. Their install team called Droid & Stark came Yesterday March 10th to install the Tesla Powerwall Back up Battery and Solar Panels. They did an outstanding job !! They were very fussy as to how the system would look on my home both inside and out. They treated it like it was their home. The panel and Battery install team worked unbelievable together. You might wonder why it started in Nov. 2021 and now in March it is installed, it's due to my utility Company making changes to the system to meet there requirements. The system is now ready to inspect and power up by the utility company. All in all Freedom Forever has been Very good to work with and would recommend them to others. Bob from Massachusetts.

I give this company no stars! Don't use them! You will not be happy! Some work was not completed on my project and I had to fight and fight to get reimbursed for it! Then I find out that they reported that reimbursement as earned income with the IRS. This isn't earned income. It was a reimbursement for charges to me for work that wasn't completed like it said in my contract! There is almost no customer service! If you can't send a check for over $600 without filing it with the irs and make a customer pay taxes on their own money that was REIMBURSED NOT EARNED,, then send more than one check!This company is HORRIBLE!

BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT USE FREEDOM FOREVER

On top of all the design and installation problems, it took 6 months and numerous install changes to get my solar system approved by the local power company. During the installation Freedom Forever damaged my house. Now they are reporting to the IRS the damage reimbursement to me as reportable income which I have to now pay taxes on!! I have called, but of course there is nothing they can do about the incorrect 1099. Theey could issue a voided 1099 - but no they say there is nothing they can do! Freedom Forever is the worst solar company! They don't know the local solar regulations and they obviously don't know the IRS regulations either! DO NOT USE THIS SOLAR COMPANY -You will regret it if you do!

Gonna have solar install DON'T have Freedom Forever do it

Freedom Forever is a company best described as the Walmart of Solar. I honestly think you would be better going with Walmart. First I was supposed to have it installed within 90 days, Fail took them 8 months and still wasn't fully operational for another month, 2nd day of power transfer was supposed to receive $1000.00 - Fail, (in fact a supervisor told me that isn't going to happen. Also I reached out to the salesman, he was no longer with the company because he said they weren't paying him and owed him several thousand dollars) 3rd I wanted to be completely off grid. I was told that was no problem . They said that my county won't allow it, something they should have known since I'm not the first install in my county. 4th Takes weeks to get them to come to service the system when there is a problem. 5th If a part goes out they come take it, tell you they are gonna order a new one & be back, but just close the case with no feedback or repair being done. My metering unit was faulty and leaked water in shorting the router and they told me I am responsible to replace it. The unit is just over 2 years old now but when originally reported the problem it was under 2 years. I called the company that provides them the parts and they read me the report that Freedom Forever put in which was a lie (why would you have something installed at that cost and not want it after it went bad?), Freedom Forever told the company that I requested to have it removed and turned off. Lie, Freedom forever in an email to me told me that the company Solaredge told them it was my problem. Solaredge verified that Freedom Forever closed my problem ticket to resolve the issue. The part has Hot wires in it that could short out if exposed to water, and cost apporx $400.00. So they, Freedom Forever also don't stand by their contract, warranty, or anything. If you're thinking about Solar, I'd make sure they aren't the ones having anything to do with it. I will be filing a negative report at least once a month, maybe more than that.
