Freedom Forever

I paid for a 10.15 kWh system got 29 350w panels which is the 10.5 kWh . The problem is they installed a 7500 kWh inverter so the max my system can produce is 7.62 kWh. Make sure you look at the inverter size because thats the maximum it can produce no mater how many panels you have beware!!!

Run fast

This company is by far one of the biggest scams and worst company you could possibly imagine. They sell you on an idea and a system that cost us 65k and as soon as it’s activated everything they said goes out the window. We are now paying for a system that doesn’t eliminate the bill, it barely makes any difference in the bill despite what they say. Make sure to ask your electric company how they work with solar panels customers beck this company lies through their teeth to get your money and then do nothing to help you afterwards.

Terrible

Freedom Forever gave me a "free quote" but then I told them I did not want to move forward and wanted to cancel. Later down the line, I saw that this had hit my credit report. I called and they placed an email to cancel. I am now I am here on 9 months later, and this company is trying to charge me monthly for a loan I never took, nor did I receive any panels. I am still having no communication back from this company. DO NOT DO A FREE QUOTE, because this will cost you. I am still pending all of this to be cancelled.

I spoke with Malique regarding solar panels for my house. I did not purchase at this time because it turns out I have four to five years life remaining on my roof and it seems wrong to put solar panels on an old roof. The information gleaned from Malique and the team of engineers he worked with gave me a good idea of how many panels I need and the best locations for those panels on my roof taking into account trees in my immediate vacinity and the path of the sun throughout the year. I never felt any pressure to buy at this time but I will certainly contact them when my new roof is in place.

Horrible

My solar has not produced since March. It is now June. I had a tech out 2 weeks ago and he said he had to order parts. I have been trying to reach the office with number on website Does not work. I have sent messages on line. One person said no record of parts ordered. I have been disappointed with this service since day 1. Waste of money Elizabeth A (redacted for privacy)

Unresponsive after sale

Very unprofessional, salesman are shady will stay in contact during the beginning process but once the sale is done they will disappear and never answer calls. Very unresponsive, no one is available to help after contract is signed.

Outstanding time in processing/installation

In less than 30 days, Freedom Forever, Maryland was able to process the application documentation and complete installation of a 51 panel Solar Panel project for my 5 bedroom/3 1/2 bath, 2 1/2 story home. The work ethic, professionalism, and proficiency of the installation team (Leatherback team), was superb in every way. They arrived promptly at 0800 on both of the two days that it took for the job, worked quietly, cleanly, and solidly as a team, without stop both days, until the task was completed. The professional work ethic of this team was beyond outstanding. This is the most pleasant, rapid. and successful project I have had agreed to do since buying this home new 19 years ago. Highly recommend this company to those that chose to turn to solar power.

Scam financing arrangement

Freedom Forever did not deliver anything for 2 months but ensured financing from Mosaic company and now delays cancellation based on non-performance and Mosaic scheme is pressing customers for payment for nothing! Basic scam setup so several complaints are filed already. Be warned for both of these companies!

No communication

Signed up with SunRun through Costco, for additional panels Feb. 28, 2023. Freedom Forever (FF) showed up, said they were doing just installs for SunRun. Next step was supposed to be city inspection, which didn't happen until 5/17/2023. Again, Freedom Forever was who came to meet city inspector, who ended up NOT showing! Fortunate, too, as tech from FF noticed conduit which should have had wiring in it, was open at 1 end, no wiring inside, and not connected to anything. He said he had to cancel inspection because instal was not finished/complete. I'm not happy! Communication has been missing since day one. If we hadn't had things go as smoothly as initial instal a year ago, we wouldn't even know what was supposed to happen and when! SunRun needs to find a better company to subcontract with.

Worst Company of all time

This company is basically a scam. They lie about everything do not use them. You will get stuck with a system that barely produces and be paying power bill

My partner and I have worked in the solar industry for 4 years. I worked in management an he worked on the installation end. We have both heard that freedom forever was a bad company to buy from. I purchased a home that has a system on it already that is only 2 years old. I took over the loan when purchasing the home. I would not have done business with this company personally but I really wanted the home. The sale went through in October but I guess there is a complete disconnect with them an there financing. Escrow sent all paperwork to sunlight as well as freedom forever. I assumed all was taken care of until my system stopped working in March an they would not assist me. I sent all necessary documents an that took forever to just have my name in there system as the new owner. It’s been 2 months an they are moving tremendously slow. Luckily solar edge let us know the inverter was out so I was able to get a ticket in for a technician to come in an repair it. I haven’t received any answer on when they will be coming out. It is approaching 3 digits an my true up is going to be ridiculous because of the screw up. Freedom Forever needs to take some accountability and fix this issue asap. I will continue to let everyone know not to do business with this company. I should have listened or worked out a better deal while closing on my home to atleast make this less painful.

Love my solar

I had a great experience with my sales rep. Everything he explained was exactly how the process went. I was installed with in 45 days and only pay the basic charge on that power bill. My solar payment is lower and I could t be more happier with the over all experience

Flee from this horribly-run company. You have been warned!

I’ve been holding off writing this. But Freedom Forever is a horrible company to deal with, particularly when competition for solar is so high right FLEE! Do NOT use them! We signed up back in September 2022 for a $75,000 system. We were promised a $4k rebate in writing if we signed up that day, and it’s now May of 2023 and they’re still haggling over it. Additionally, we were guaranteed a “consumption monitor” as part of our system to monitor panel production, etc. Nothing. Now they want an extra $500 to install the monitor. There is NO customer service, other than calling an 800 number in California that places you on hold for an hour to reach anyone. Even our sales rep can’t get anything done, despite his diligence. FF is VERY quick to send a crew out to measure your roof for panels and install them. But good luck if you have customer service issues. A few months ago, we were assigned an “enhanced customer service representative” who is completely non-responsive and are considering legal action against the company, which is extremely unusual for us. I’ve never sued anyone in my life, but this has been such a scam. Find another solar company. They’re a dime a dozen these days. You have been warned.

Unfortunate

Everyone is having trouble with installation. It is unfortunate that this has been the case. Just like others, I have had my solar panels installed 3 months and they still don’t work. They have had me take off work 6 times to work on my project and have failed 3 county inspections. Possibly the worst customer service I’ve ever had, always taking notes and ensuring progress just to have to call next week and ask the same questions and they take the same notes and nobody comes or calls back.

BUYER BEWARE fraudulent business

Run far far away from this company. We are being charged $25,000 for solar panels that we don't have nor do we want. This company has absolutely the worst customer service I've ever received and will tell you anything to get your money. We called them for a quote and are now battling for 5 months so far to have a fraudulent account removed from our credit. This is beyond ridiculous.

Customer Service does not exist

I started this process in September 2022, I still don’t have a running system but I am paying for the equipment. Freedom Forever has the worst customer service and terrible communication. They have wired half of my panels backwards and now I find out from NVEnergy that the AC disconnect is wired in reverse. Called them several time but got nothing resolved. Seems to me that hiring an attorney is my next step to getting them to do what they have been paid to do.

Freedom Forever Leadership, I still have not recived my form 1 Residential form for tax credits! We are going on 4 months!! This is unacceptable!

Scam!

The sales rep came out last summer 2022 and gave his presentation. It all sounded great so we signed up. He offered a Vivint home security system and we declined as we already have a security system. He told us we should just take it since it was free and then we would have a backup if we ever needed it. So we followed his advice. Vivint came out and gave us our system which we left in the box and stored away. Then someone came and inspected our roof. The sales rep sent us their proposed design. They wanted to put panels on the north facing roof (front of our house). I asked of we could put them all on the south facing roof as they wouldn't He visible from the front of the house and the south facing gets all of the sunlight. Several weeks went by and I heard nothing. I called and texted our rep with no response. I waited on hold at their main office number and left messages and never received a return call. After sharing this in a google review someone called me. They sent me a new design with all panels on the south facing roof. In this design there were 3 less panels but the same price. I reached out again to understand why the price would the same but with less panels and received no response again for several weeks. At this point I decided to cancel this project altogether. I called and the cancellation was very easy. After canceling and receiving a confirmation number, two months later I received an account statement from Mosaic (the lender they use). I called Mosaic and they said they had not been notified of the cancellation and that Freedom Forever would have to let them know and return the funds that had already been distributed to them. I called Freedom again and they told me that they would notify the sales rep and he would notify Mosaic (the lender). Two weeks pass and Mosaic reaches back out to me to let me know that they still haven't received anything from Freedom letting them know the project was canceled. I called Freedom again and this time they told me that they notified their Renewal Finance team and they would let Mosiac know about the cancelation within 48 hours. I called back 48 hours later to make sure this had been done. This time I was told it would take up to 2 months for Mosaic to be notified. So long story short Mosaic released funds to Freedom Forever and they have been sitting on it. Finally they let Mosaic know and that loan was cancelled. Then in April of this year (2023) Freedom calls me saying I owe them for the Vivint system. I tell them I still have it unused in the box and am happy to return it. They tell me they can't accept that and send me a bill for $3000. This company is a scam. If they were so great they wouldn't be knocking door to door begging you to meet with them. Let that be your warning sign and steer clear!

All salesman are bad do not follow up, gives wrong info.

Real bad customer services, it took forever to follow up. should not ever gone through with them. I changed 2 salesmen because of their lack of follow ups and they are sweet talking how quick they work and gives me wrong info. Once I decided not to go through with this solar, they threaten me for cancellation charge. Top sales man called me and sweet talk me again, now is installed it's passed 2 weeks the final inspection was never yet filed yet per city. I called the sales complained and texted me back that his currently out of country wanted me to contact customer serves directly... really bad. I whish I can tell them to take them away. Don't want to deal with them at all.

Horrible

Great at communicating until they make the sale. Been ignoring my emails for months. My solar panels are not performing at all - in fact my electric bill is higher now than it used to be before I had the panels. No response from them. Now I’m stuck with a high electric bill and a solar loan. My mistake for not reading the reviews before going with this company. Also not surprised at all to see such horrible ratings. This can’t be legal for them to abandon us like this so I’ll be pursuing this further.

Quality Installation

The ThunderRoad Team was organized, and the installation went smoothly. The inverter box and electrical conduit was do very professionally. Very happy with the install. The team was courteous and attentive.

The Used car salesman of solar

This company was recommended from a friend.. They gave us this great quote and made everything sounds amazing. WE decided to use them and it took about 8 months for then to finally install the panels. WE got a ground mount and this company thought, what a great idea, lets install in early spring/ winter.. They destroyed my lawn! Never let us know when people were going to show up to do the work, just randomly had people show up at our house. Communication has been HORRIBLE!! Now we have panels set up, but can't generate because they can't get their act together.. Every time I call, I'm on hold for a long time just to be told they are waiting on someone else at the company to do their job.. THIS IS CRAP! Even our power company can't reach them and hasn't heard from them. SO now we sit here with a destroyed lawn, panels we can't use and wait for this company to decide to get it DONE. I've had enough, MULTIPLE CALLS and EMAILS, requests for managers to call us back have all been left unanswered. I WANT MY YARD FIXED, and to GENERATE the power we were told we would be getting.. I didn't pay tens of thousands of $$ for a big yard ornament. After this, next step is BBB, I'm done.

Beyond irreprehensible

LIARS, LIARS, LIARS! Get a lawyer right away. Total scam. Worst company I've ever dealt with in my life! Put a second on my home, never told me. Now I can no longer get a home equity loan or anything with my equity. It's been almost a year now and the system still doesn't work. They keep making "mistakes" and can't even get through an inspection. RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When they first started, they were excellent then their communications stopped very hard to get a hold of. I’ve been without my power panels now for four months plus I Tried to do DIY from the directions that they texted me the directions did not work now. They tell me that I have to wait another week or two before they send somebody over to fix the problem. I do not recommend them and if I could give them a zero I would.
