Update 1/13/23: EHS has made amends and returned to complete the job in a satisfactory manner I would give them 4 stars. -------- Contracted for solar panels but needed new roof so projected bundled. roof not complete to agreement. First they said they're going to come back then stalled for months then wanted to reimburse a fraction to have another contractor come out and finish job. Salesman Charles Saxon doesn't return calls AVOID this company!!! Save yourself the headache of being ghosted

Overall experience with EHS

I had a roof and 18 solar panels installed. Overall my experience with EHS was a positive one. But there were a couple of things that could be tightened up: 1.) one suggestion is to give each customer a specific checksheet that briefly outlines each step and timeline of the process. There were many EHS "hands in the pie". Each time I called (frequently getting an answering service that annoyingly said "Natasha" before cutting me off) there was a different person who answered the phone, sometimes in South Carolina or Texas. I had to wait to be connected to a particular person. It would be helpful if each person had a dedicated phone number so they could be directly reached. 2.) My sales person, Jess Moore, was excellent. One of the main reasons I selected EHS (and did not solicit any other company because of two strong neighbor recommendations) did not happen, though. I was told EHS used its own employees exclusively and no jobs would be subcontracted. This did not happen. Both phases of my project--the roof and then the solar panels-- were subbed out. I understand there was staff turnover that necessitated this. The initial solar panel installation was incorrectly done and failed the initial Charlotte County inspection. Follow up work needed to be done by an EHS employee (at least I assume he was not another subcontractor). This delayed completion of the project for close to a month. Temporary loss of money for them, loss of energy savings for me.... 3.) The subbed roofers were no shows on a day or two so I had to follow up on their whereabouts. I think either they or EHS could have done a better job keeping me in the loop. 4.) This being said, all EHS employees I talked to were polite and responsive once I could get through to them. I would like to particularly acknowledge the service of Rolando. He was the final face of EHS who came out to connect everything up on my computer. He plainly but thoroughly explained everything in a manner that even a low-tech person like myself could understand. He patiently provided hands-on training so I can confidently track my useage.

Updated Review

I am changing my review to four stars after speaking with Joe. I was happy that someone from the company actually cared enough to follow up with a phone call. The reason for the four and not five stars is the one thing that wasn't discussed at the time of sale which I should have asked, was the amount of time it takes for the panels to convert energy so I would not receive a Gulf power bill. It does take some time to transition, but once the panels take over, the savings will be amazing. Right now, my Gulf Power bill is cut in half and I expect in a few more months and more sunny days, this will be down to zero. I would recommend EHS for solar energy as the people at the top truly care about the company and the customer's experience.
