After almost one year from the start of my search for solar+battery to final project completion, to interconnection and navigating the Federal and PGE SGIP rebate processes, it has been a rollercoaster. I certainly appreciate the personalized service I received from middle and high level managers and personal at Citadel who stepped up to make sure I was taken care of and satisfied within reason. The entire process started with me reaching out for a consultant and being matched to Chris Blank, their consultant, to price out and build a solar and battery combo in May 2025. Challenges were that I was a new homeowner, and the initial process relied on several months of electric bills. I wanted to take advantage of Summer and Fall 2025 energy production and get something designed and built quickly, and quickly Citadel did in this department, as I received Permission to Operate (PTO) by August 2025. There were QC issues along the way, such as sloppily installed Tesla Meter Adapter which ended up being destroyed by the installer by sloppy handling, waste and tools left in my attic, and sloppy conduit connections to the battery. This is after paying extra for a conduit run under the house. It was initially supposed to be an attic run but technical challenges caused them to have to run it through the crawl space, meanwhile I was still charged for an attic run. On city inspection day, Citadel sent a QC/technician to accompany the inspector, and the signoff was a quick, painless process. PGE did their inspections as well, and I was up and running not long after, and received PTO. However, this is where the good news starts to unravel. For one thing, the project manager seemed to be unorganized with my build, and I felt that as a regular homeowner, mistakes were made that were costly. An example was I wanted to add an extra solar panel, and discussed it with the build team, but a miscommunication meant that a permit was filed minus one panel that verbally there was an agreement to ensure that the full roof was being utilized. This cost me an extra $250 for refiling the permit. Ultimately, it was waived, but not without extraordinary effort on my part. I have the belief that the project management software or process at Citadel might be flawed to some extent at least in 2025. Citadel was quick to collect my payment for project overage but negligent to assist or point me in the right direction regarding SGIP rebate process. For one thing, I was put on Tesla VPP which then complicated the SGIP rebate process and added at least 4 months if not 6 months of time to qualify for the PGE SGIP rebate. I ended up having to file a BBB complaint to get any action from the company at all. My attempts to reach out through visiting their office in late summer 2025 when I made my final payment were never met with any appreciation for me being a customer, nor was there staffing outreach. I understand that there was quite a rush of installs in 2025 to meet the deadline for the December 31st 2025 cutoff for the federal tax credit, but I believe there could have been better customer service engagement and real solutions. Without me going above and beyond for the average customer, i would have never received my SGIP rebate, which I priced into account when choosing a system based on total system installation price, capability, storage, and value. One final note, it is now almost 1 year later, and no roof leaks. I am grateful for that.

Solar Repair Service
Citatdel Service was on time for panel inverter replacement. The technician Tyler was friendly and got it done quick. The failed panel is back online. The cost for the repair was high but they did give me a $100 off the original quote for service. The Enphase part was under warranty and came direct to me overnight. $250 is still a lot for a 30 min job plus the drive out, and admin for the call. I could have called around, but just wanted to get it done and they are the original installer. Overall good service.
